V3 Gb Selector Issue
Pewpewpetie and one other reacted to Adolf Hamster for a topic
i do, and i have, but given the op's once a month takedown policy i'd assumed he'd have known that too. looks like the COL isn't engaging the cam, hard to tell how worn it is from the pic byt it's worth checking that by hand. pull everything bar the COL and the sector gear, rotate by hand and see if it's still moving. normally this is pretty common if the COL is a different brand to the rest of the gearbox, but can also happen with wear.2 points -
My Views on Airsoft Changed
John_W reacted to Johnyboy1976 for a topic
Up until quite recently i didnβt really have any interest and thought Airsoft was just silly fake shitty Chinese toys. This was further backed up by the Airsoft weapons we have at work in my armoury - a L96 and a SA80 that are both utter pieces of utter cheap rubbish. But then i saw some nice Umarex pieces and my opinion totally changed. Now whilst Iβm still to do a actual day of airsofting Iβm chomping at the bit to get going - as are both my boys but only one is old enough at moment. Luckily i donβt have to fork out on much gear as got mountains of kit after a long career in the infantry. Anyway hope to see some of you guys at a local event. Some pics of my boy with a selection of genuine weapons from my armoury.1 point -

100% this and I think it comes from the Gen Z's (technically I'm a millennial) growing up with social media and realising that you can't actually win an argument/discussion online, so resort to dropping one of these phrases as to not open themselves up for analysis of their expanded opinion.1 point -

Vietnam Gear
Enid_Puceflange reacted to Druid799 for a topic
As has been said you need to stick it in appraisals , PLUS you need photos and proper descriptions of the kit , to be honest what youβve posted is absolutely useless in any way shape or form . No one could give you an appraisal off this , youβve got no details for anything just a list of what it is . the uniform is it real vintage ? is it from a quality brand like Tru-spec ? is it cheapo Chinese knock off crap ? the webbing is it correct for Vietnam ? how many pouches are there ? the knife is it period correct or is it just a plastic training knife ? What large pack is it ? Youβve got to list all these kind of details other wise youβve more chance of staying dry pissing in the wind than you are of getting a fair appraisal as it stands .1 point -

Not a dig at you good sir (just the phrase) but God I really really REALLY hate this fucking phrase ! Itβs used so much now as an excuse not to answer someone elseβs argument , differing point of view or even just used to avoid picking a side in a discussion , much like βok boomerβ and more and more Of these βbuzz phrasesβ are coming along every other day . Someone will say or post something incorrect , judgment, PC or just simply boneheaded . You comeback at them with even a hint of passion/sarcasm or just plain old contempt in your reply counterpointing there statement and straight away someone chucks a βgetting triggered ?β At you ! I do frequently find my self feeling like saying to these SJW βwell actually no I wasnβt getting βtriggeredβ(to me something that triggers a person is something that causes an uncontrollable reaction that totally alters there mental state and not something that makes you want to turn around and say βshut up ya twat your talking Bollox !β ?)by the what ever you said but I am now starting to get pissed off NOT triggered by your benign stale retort !β π€ ππ1 point

Sub 1k Polarstar Build π€
Tactical Pith Helmet reacted to Adolf Hamster for a topic
why not go with the F2? cheaper, much easier to setup, and something you can swap to a much wider range of platforms than a fusion. when it comes to setting up hpa it's both easy and hard, whilst dropping in a kit and getting the gun to fire is much easier than working on a conventional gearbox setup, tuning it to perfection is quite the mountain. i suggest you have a read through here- familiarise yourself with what to expect: donor gun wise, pretty much pick your poison, whilst a lot of hpa's tend to be built on pretty recievers there's nothing that says you can't drop a polarstar into a plastic raider body. only internals to worry about are the hop/barrel setup, and if you're really chasing perfection things like reciever wobble, but those generally aren't the worst things to replace anyway.1 point -

+/- 2fps on a GBBR? I call BS π I am not sure all vertical deviation is due to fps fluctuations, I imagine that hop up and ammo will have a bigger impact on this. I tested mine at 10m last night and even with the fps changes I put 5 Guarder 0.36g BBs all in a 15mm square box. Other brands and weights (two 0.30g and one 0.32g) were up to a 25mm x 35mm box (sideways spread) I would get some samples of BBs (both different brands and weights) and see which plays best with your set up. If you want to DM me I am happy to post you a baggie of the different ones I have to save a small fortune on BBs π1 point -
Zero One
Tactical Pith Helmet reacted to Druid799 for a topic
Now me Iβve got a very negative opinion of Zero One , I personally know a player who payed a lot for an βupgrade packageβ on a new gun , first game to use it made a horrendous noise when firing , couple of the more respected players on site opened it up and discovered had been unevenly shimmed AND some 2nd hand parts had been used in the build ! Then 2yrs ago down at the NAE was in the sales tent and a god awful ruckus started going off on the other side of the shop , found out later from a witness a guy Who had bought a pistol was given an obviously used one Instead of a new one . So me personally i use them only if there literally my last port of call for what ever I want .1 point -
Se Tour Review: Thg - Ruckus 2.0 - Tilmanstone Works (Kent)
PureSilver reacted to Asomodai for a topic
Site Name: Tilmanstone Works Contact details: N/A Website Address: (1) The Heresy Group - YouTube Facebook Page: The Heresy Group | Facebook Site Address: Tilmanstone Works Pike Rd, Eythorne, Dover, CT15 4ND A slightly different one this time around! I heard about The Heresy Groups "Ruckus 2.0" from a friend. THG hire out places that are not used as Airsoft sites on a regular basis, which introduces some interesting places. Coming into the Airsoft scene too late to enjoy UCAP Sandpit, I was quite eager to check out a full blown Quarry. The closest thing myself and @Albiscuithave played at being Imperium which has some Quarry sections. Tilmanstone Works is a largish outdoor site, most of which is an active Quarry, interspersed by Quarry hardware (Stone blocks, shipping containers, rusted out vehicles. There is plenty of elevation as well as a small valley of woodland vegetation. There are some very open areas, but there are always sections you can move through with more cover. The elevation itself can be used as cover. There are sections for short, medium and long distance engagements. So myself Albiscuit and 4 others decided to make our way on a sunny if windy day on 25/05/2021. Good: Playing Area: Very very good. We had reservations about the site being too open and somewhat boring, but were completely unfounded. An active quarry is both somewhat bleak, exposed and interesting at the same time. As mentioned in the intro, there is lots of elevation that can be used to both expose the opposing team, but also hide behind. There are lots of ditches, some woodland outcrops, concrete barriers, shipping containers and vehicles to hide behind. But in some areas it's open warfare with expanses of flat ground. If you are relatively fit, you can take advantage of the more esoteric approaches which can be ankle breaking if you're not careful, but can be utterly rewarding. Clientele: There was a large turnout, no problems with the clientele, heard very little to no grumbling throughout the day. A sense of comradery and people who were just happy to play something as unique as this place . Hit taking: Was very good. No complaints heard. Turn around time: There was little in the way of breaks. There were 4 different games and lunch. We didn't feel short changed. Marshalling: Very good, plenty of people around who encouraged people to get back out there from the spawn points. Safety Brief: Perfectly fine, covered everything, they had a physical representation of the blast radius of pyro which was helpful. There were no noobies for the day, so it was tailored towards experienced players. Chrono: Everyone's primaries were chronoed at the beginning of the day. 370 FPS for AEGs, 450 FPS for DMR and 500 FPS for BAR's. The players own BB weight for the day was used and rifles tagged. Value: Β£30, for something as unique as it is, I felt it was good value. Car Park/Entrance: Directions were easy to follow. The gates shut at 9:30, and there was a reception at the gate to take the money and sign in. The Car Park was based inside earth mounds with an auxiliary car park just outside that was more open to the elements. Shop: Multiple shops were on site including CamoRaids, Valkyrie BB's and a night vision for hire stand (Despite it not being a night game), it's more for promotion purposes. Raffle: Everyone likes a raffle, there was a free one for everyone as part of your entry fee. Two of the six of us even managed to win! Average: Game Modes/Brief: Not the typical attack and defend. There was a capture the flag game and a VIP game. There was a free for all at the end of the day, stages with the winners moving into the finals. It would have been good to know that we needed mobile phones to take photos of the VIP with other players on your team before we went out to the spawn point. I felt this sort of game is better suited to CQB sites like the Mall rather then something at an outdoor quarry. Bad: Safe Zone: It's not a true site, so there is no cover and everyone sets up from their cars. Toilets: No on-site facilities; was recommended to bring Wet Wipes ahead of time. Food: No food on-site; was recommended to bring our own ahead of time. COVID awareness: I didn't hear much if anything mentioned about social distancing or COVID awareness. There was no mask wearing in the safe zone. Also there was no pre-booking, so no control over numbers that could show up. Conclusion: We loved the day. We were very surprised in how good the playing area was and was utterly refreshing to play at over the usual outdoor site. We wish this was a proper full blown regular site and may be one we visit often despite the distance. We heard one guy had travelled all the way from Lincolnshire to play! A word of warning, you wont be washing your clothes after the day as much as beating them with a broom to get the dust out! We cant wait for Ruckus 3.0 and hope it will align with our schedules! What would be a great addition would be working Technical/Vehicles, if this could happen it would be amazing. The Heresy Group have run a very successful day despite the high winds and can be proud of themselves from that perspective. Very little has to improve if this continues to be a once in a while skirmish. Though having a pre-booking system in times of Covid would make me feel much better for turning up. Bullpup Watch: Very few; an SVU... I don't remember much else. Very little variance from M4 styles. Best Guess Map:1 point -

Hello all! Welcome to the third end of year review with yours truly. What a year it has been! very frustrating due to closures, but I still managed to get in a number of skirmishes when things were slightly better. I totted up 9 new sites in the South East, 3 in the South West and a few revisits which is probably way more then most! Like last year, more sites have closed down then opened, with a few new ones that never came to fruition (Echelon I am looking at you!). This year the standard of site has been much better then the previous years. No site was truly awful which makes a change! Sites that bit the dust in 2020: Incursion/EAG Dorking Combat South Urban Assault Grange Bravo One The Depot Glasgow Sites that changed hands: Zed Adventures -> Gunman (Battle Lakes) Sites that have opened/reopened: Zed Adventures Z-Mart Incursion Epsom Bunker (2019 but meh) Doomsday (Not sure how they re-opened considering the issues they have had, but I am thinking they are still on life support) AP The Tower Last year I announced that 2020 would be the last year I would do this due to trying to start a family. For various reasons this may no longer happen so I will continue with the reviews into 2021! This year I have been ably assisted by my buddy @Albiscuit who has graciously given me lifts to many of the sites this year. It's been nice to play with someone else rather then going on my tod for so long! Sites I hope to visit by the end of 2021 are: Finmere Airsoft, AP - The Tower, Special Ops HQ, IronSight, Gunman Camp Alpha, Z-Mart, Epsom Tunnels, Mayhem South East Longfield and Canterbury. @Albiscuit and I are hoping to bring you a special weekender report at a couple of very interesting sites up t'North at some point. I am also hopefully making a return to the South West to clean up some of the sites I missed near Bristol such as Black Ops Cribbs and HMP Gloucester. We are running out of sites in the SE to visit... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So without further ado, here is the SE Tour Awards for 2020. 9 new sites were visited to add to a grand total of 37 in the South East alone. Best Overall Site β This is the award to the best overall site in terms of everything. 1) Airsoft Plantation (Essex) 2) Dogtag Airsoft (West Sussex) 3) Imperium Airsoft (Kent) AP: Retains the top spot for the third year running, though it was really pushed hard by Dogtag this year. I popped to AP a few weeks before writing this and had a great time with the lower numbers due to covid. It has some work to do to keep top spot though. Dogtag Airsoft: Knocked Driver Wood off the 2nd spot, such a varied and "shapely" area. We didnt get to see all of the areas available so we cant wait to go back! Safe zone was probably the best one I have seen outside. Food was great too. Imperium Airsoft: Suprise entry considering I had slated the organisation of the day, but they have gone strength to strength to improve the playing area and have now provided a covered safe zone. Considering how unique this place is, it deserves a tentative spot in third. Best Medium/Long range Playing area β Variety and/or quality of the playing area. 1) Reforger Airsoft (Herts) 3) Airsoft Plantation (Essex) 2) Apocalypse Airsoft (Kent) Reforger Airsoft: Reforger has knocked Airsoft Plantation off of it's perch. Though Reforger has very few man made features, it's natural stuff completely makes up for it, it's a huge site which really lends itself to long range engagement. AP: Has fallen to second place, even though it has the largest variety in terms out outdoor playing area. It is mostly flat and with few water features, the sheer changeability of the terrain and vegetation, interspersed with manmade obstacles. Apocalypse Airsoft: Has fallen one spot due to Reforger Airsoft. Surprised me in its decent size, huge variety of woodland sections and best of all the variety and scale of the buildings used. Best CQB playing area β Variety and/or quality of the playing area. 1) Longmoor Camp (Hampshire) 2) Reaper Ops The Fort Borstal (Kent) 3) Gunman Airsoft Tuddenham (Suffolk) Longmoor: Creme de la creme for CQB. Play in a perfectly recreated suburb is fantastic. I would love to go back again during the day. Reaper and Longmoor have switched places this year as I feel I got it wrong! Reaper ops: The Fort is a really interesting era Fort, A moat section, plenty of elevation, tunnels and turrets. A really unique site with really good views over the Medway. Since the downfall of the Mall this has now essentially replaced it at the top. Gunman Airsoft Tuddenham: Has replaced Erebor due to it closing in 2019. Tuddenham has so much going for it for it's CQB action, they have just put in a new trench system which improves things. If they got rid of the silly grenade rule in use inside the huts, this could climb the places. Best purpose built buildings β This means actually built for the site and not already existing. 1) Dogtag Airsoft (West Sussex) 2) Apocalypse Airsoft (Kent) 3) Mayhem Paintball and Airsoft (Essex) Dogtag Airsoft: With the demise of Dorking, Dogtag deservedly takes the top spot. The constructon of the buildings especially in the CQB area is incredible. The quality oozes out of the construction. There are more buildings planned as well. Apocalypse Airsoft: Drops down to 2nd this year. The sheer variety of buildings at play, well-spaced out, multiple tiers and well looked after means this is a great site for snipers and CQB assaults. The trench system is also worth a mention. Mayhem Paintball and Airsoft: The sheer amount of obstacles and buildings means this is worth an entry at number 3! Best Safe Zone β Safe zone is classed as the setting up area. Enclosed? Felt Safe? Lots of space? 1) Dogtag Airsoft (West Sussex) 2) Mayhem Paintball and Airsoft (Essex) 3) Red 1: The School (Herts) Dogtag Airsoft: Almost like it was built for social distancing in our covid times. Almost everything is under cover and is of really good construction. Mayhem Paintball and Airsoft: Has a huge multi roomed indoor/outdoor safe zone. Heated inside and benches everywhere. Shop and Toilets were pretty good as well. Red 1 The School: It's completely indoors, which is the only reason it gets in this spot. Its not quite big enough and the toilets are pretty bad. But hey... indoors? Best on-site shop β Shop selection. 1) MPA Hockley Airsoft Arena (Essex) 2) Battle Lakes (Kent) 3) Airsoft Billericay (Essex) MPA Hockley: is a new entrant and absolutely deserving. It's a full retail shop with a small skirmish area attached to it. Its well appointed even for an airsoft shop. I have my doubts they will ever be topped. Battle Lakes: Had a very large indoor shop with lots of interesting weapons and gear for sale, also sold second hand stuff. Airsoft Billericay: Has a very large selection of gear is available at reasonable prices. It has gone slightly downhill recently but still claims 3rd spot. Best Catering β Catering selection. 1) Dogtag Airsoft (West Sussex) 2) Invicta Airsoft (Kent) 2) Airsoft Plantation (Essex) Dogtag Airsoft: Had a hog roast and a freakin' Ice cream truck turn up. Invicta Airsoft: Not the best tasting food, but you got LOADS of it. Breakfast was included in the price and they have lots of vegetarian options too. AP: Has a proper burger van, all the sauces, reasonable prices and a vegetarian option. Tasted good as well. Best Marshals β Marshals that made sure you had a good time, were friendly and weeded out troublemakers. 2) Airsoft Plantation (Essex) 1) Gunman Camp Bravo (Hampshire) 3) Invicta Airsoft (Kent) AP: Has climbed back to the top spot after playing the weekend before writing this review. They will do anything to help you and bend over backwards. Gunman Camp Bravo: Had such a friendly bunch of people running it, really professionally run. Invicta Airsoft: Award goes for the most marshals and staff on one site for so few people! They were everywhere! Site where (We) had the most fun in 2020 β Might not have been the best sites, but definitely had the best experience. 1) Dogtag Airsoft (West Sussex) 2) Gunman Camp Bravo (Hampshire) 3) Invicta Airsoft (Kent) Dogtag Airsoft: Dogtag definitely took the top spot this year, we both had an amazing time and had something for both of us to like. (Considering how we are very different players!) Gunman Camp Bravo: A very solid day, couldn't quite put our finger on it, but we had a great time and could have played for another couple of hours. Left us wanting more! Invicta Airsoft: More of a pick for @AlbiscuitIt was a good day in terms of personal performance for him and he loved the Invicta CQB area! Best site inside the M25: 1) Red 1 Chislehurst (Kent) 2) Doomsday Airsoft (Kent) 3) Mayhem Paintball and Airsoft (Essex) Red 1 Chislehurst: Retains the crown as the best site inside the M25. Steady improvements despite thieves taking away part of the safe zone. Doomsday Airsoft: Needs to sort out its sometimes open/sometimes closed status. Mayhem Paintball and Airsoft: Fantastic playing area, good variety, but poor organisation lets it down. Most Disappointing site - For sites we had high hopes for but was a bit of a let down on the day. 1) Splatoon Airsoft (Essex) 2) AirsoftGB (Essex) 3) Mayhem Paintball and Airsoft (Essex) Splatoon airsoft: Went for a Battlesim, it was one of the most poorly run events that we have ever been to. Had so much promise. Shame, considering the site itself is not that bad. AirsoftGB: Was the biggest let down. We heard many many good things about it. But when we got there just saw a bowl of grass with a bunch of structures in it. The Farmyard section was quite good, but the rest of the experience wasn't fantastic either. We didn't quite get the hype. Mayhem Paintball and Airsoft: The photos on the website didn't disappoint. But I didn't realise how quite bad organisation could get until I played here. Spray and βpreyβ award: For the third year running, I still have nightmares of Tactical Warfare in Croydon. I just cant bring myself to go back due to the liberal usage of plastic death. Best moment: When we first saw the "Village" at Dogtag Airsoft. Jaw dropped and we looked at each other knowing it was going to be good. Here are all of the in-depth individual reviews for your viewing pleasure. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There have been more changes this year in the awards then last year. The standard has been overall much higher. Though there were a number of "middling" sites, which just couldn't quite get on the board. Not much to say this year, I think people are just hoping to see the back of it. Definitely more of a year for purchasing gear that I haven't played enough to get around to using! In 2021 I am hoping to get to more sites outside of the South East, just for a bit of variety. So don't expect too many SE reviews... Not enough sites left to add anyway! See you in 2021 folks! Z-Mart, be there!1 point
