Sounds absolutely bang on though. It's why I'd always suggesting buying a sub-£100 VSR-a-like just to see if you enjoy it. Throw in a £20 spring and piston and you'll be up to 500fps, some cheap tuning and you're much of the way there. Nobritsch is selling a dream - his videos are basically marketing for how effective sniping is. And like all marketing, well, if you believe that, I have a bridge unskirmished fully upgraded SSG to sell you.3 points -

I find it interesting the trend with 2nd hand Novritsch Sales: A.) How many Novritsch items come up for sale unskirmished. B.) How similar so many of the listings are (only used for backyard plinking) C.) I bought this two days ago but now I’m leaving Airsoft forever, press F to pay respects. It makes me suspect that the Novritsch team has become less stringent on checking for a defence as so many of these seem to have been bought by people who are not active skirmishers. Maybe a “sales a sale” attitude has been adopted to get through a tough time? Still, it’s a second hand item and the price is silly if he wants to tempt someone to by his one instead of just buying a new unit from NV.3 points -

Is the sum of the mentioned ‘upgrades’ a fluted cylinder and an enlarged bolt handle? Or did we just not bother listing the others? Let me guess... General advice to avoid the no doubt incoming twisting of knickers. If you’re selling something with aftermarket parts in it, tell folks what they are. Selling a second hand RIF (irrelevant of its use, unless you’re a retailer it’s second hand) for £500+ is a tall order. Ultimately you don’t have to justify your price to anyone... but a detailed listing of what exactly potentially interested parties are actually getting will aid any chance of a successful sale you have.3 points -
It’s anecdotal evidence at best at the end of the day. Given the bulk of his products are ‘sniper’ focused I wouldn’t be shocked if folks take the gnu out for a morning session, don’t enjoy the play style, carefully place (read as ‘lob’) it back in the case at lunchtime and pop it up as ‘unskirmished’ the moment they get home. “Selling because sniping isn’t for me” is probably the number one reason for sale I see in the springer section. Given the marketing behind the SSG range it tracks that they’re often purchased by folks that haven’t used a bolt action gnu before, and thus the cycle is complete. I also think there is an element of folks feeling they have to justify their reason of sale and often the actual reason could put off potential buyers. Example: ”Selling because it’s a safe queen and deserves to be used.” Sounds much better than. “Selling because I’ve put a heap of money into this and it still isn’t performing as well as my other RIFs so I just want to make some of my money back”. (Yes, this is also all anecdotal)2 points

Not sure where to post this.I'm posting this as a warning for any budding youtubers and hobby filmers.I have a SJcam but I decided to opt for a slim/low profile Runcam, scopecam lite, with a 40mm lense. It arrived yesterday so I did the usual today, charge the battery, update the software and try settings. When it came to fit to my rail it never seemed to tighten or become solidly attached. When I investigated I found that the plastic mount had broken.I don't think I exerted any real pressure on it as I had read it can break,it never got any tighter so I removed it and investigated. As for the picture quality,it's not the 4K version but even the 1080 60FPS isn't too good,it doesn't match the SJcam so not Go-pro quality either. It is cited for airsofting use but I can't see that it will last long in the field.I'd expect better quality for £80 +tbh.I shall return it forthwith...1 point

Therein lies the rub. A 1/3rd of a mile isn't much, but that's 10 minutes walking through public streets lugging airsoft gear, without trying to attract the attention of the general public while doing so. I'd rather park as close as possible to the venue, even if it costs 7-8 quid more, to reduce the risk. That, and I'm a lazy fucker.1 point -

Indeed. The venue is within reasonable travel distance for me to play, but once you factor parking, it's a tad on the expensive side. Hopefully the quality of the venue itself would make it a worthwhile trip.1 point -
@Hudson All sorted !! After stripping it all down and remember that white peg I was asking about yesterday ?? Well it wasn’t tight enough got that sorted had a nice seal and was firing around the 460-465 mark then I tweaked the hop-up a little and it went 472-475 - don’t have any screenies as I did a firmware update when it popped up and I lost everything and now it’s tipping it down so can’t get back out. But if it’s nice tomorrow evening I’ll try again and get some numbers for both .2 and .4 /cheers for the pointers1 point

No, it shouldn't vary by more than a few FPS really, so there must be a leak somewhere. I'd check the piston & cylinder section first. Unscrew the outer barrel and take the trigger, receiver & cylinder. Cock it it, then cover up the cylinder head with your thumb or something. The piston should stop partway if your seal is good, but if not it'll release all the way. If it's bad, fix that then try again until sorted, reassemble & re-chrono to test the consistency. If the air seal is good but you're still getting a wide range then look at the hop unit and barrel to fix any leaks there.1 point

Printed a receiver end plate to make the folding stock adapter fit on my AEG. It's really solid now. Yes I have already broken a bit but that was me being ham fisted seeing the buffer tube in. VID_20200905_215846.mp41 point -

Finally after a month of waiting this gorgeous thing showed up... Northeast Sten MkV GBB. Absolutely beautiful replica, and packs a serious kick. Breaks down almost exactly like the real steel, and operates very similarly. The bolt will even fly out the back if you leave the stock off and fire it, so don't do that. I also recorded a little bit of slow motion-footage to show off the action... I will say one thing though, my second mag seal has already gone, but such are the perils of limited run GBB replicas... EDIT: I've since fixed this issue, the inner gas chamber just needed reseating.1 point

Another great day yesterday out with my MWS URGI at Gloucester prison. Two mag related issues however... Firstly a mag developed a fault where the bb follower/spring became caught internally and wouldn't allow the bb's to sit against the feed lips under pressure. It's the second time this has happened to me, unsure whether it's the same mag but will insure to number them discreetly to monitor. Fairly easy to fix but I wasn't sure whether anyone else has had this issue? Second fault was just me being an absolute donkey! On the way back into the safe zone, unloading the mag it slipped out of my hand and promptly hit concrete feed lips first shattering themselves completely and sending bb's everywhere! A quick order via impulse 101 and I have a few spares on their way to get that mag operational!1 point

@occidio I've tested only three barrels - the stock 6.08mm 250mm brass inner barrel, a 370mm long 6.03mm Laylax/Prometheus steel inner barrel, and a 410mm long 6.04mm Maple Leaf Crazy Jet brass barrel. From my tests it was clear that the barrel has minimal effect, if any, on the accuracy and range of the platform. 95% of the accuracy/range comes from the bucking and nub used, how clean everything is, and getting everything properly aligned. As an example, my first time installing the T-N.T. bucking was a disaster because the bucking patch was slightly canted to the left, causing all my shots to curve way left field. I had the 410mm Maple Leaf Crazy Jet on at the time which made no difference in accuracy. When I went back and properly aligned the patch, I started putting fist sized groupings into a tree at roughly 30 meters out just standing offhand. I have a professionally tuned R-Hopped Lambda 6.05mm steel tightbore inner barrel w/Modify flat bucking and flat nub in my primary AEG which had a +/-1 FPS deviation at the chrono last weekend. My MTR-16 is slightly more accurate with the T-N.T. bucking and nub. That's saying a lot. You can also notice the Joule creep on the GBBR is more significant than on the AEG. The ML Crazy Jet barrels have very small windows, but my TR Hop bucking fit into the window and made a nice concave R-hop style contact surface with the BB. I actually prefer this smaller hop window because there seems to be less room for the hop up bucking patch to be misaligned, while a wider window means slightly more room for error (in theory). The stock barrel window is quite open and allows for a wide variety of bucking/nub setups. The Prometheus barrel is similar to the stock barrel, with a wide open window.1 point -

I swear I don't get some people. 1st game after the summer break, we invite the infamous cheater club (ye ye why are we inviting them... More people at the field, more targets to shoot at, that's why). TL;DR version is that everything went well until the last 3 games, at that point nobody was calling his hits anymore 😕 Spotted the enemy sniper and dumped about half a flash mag on his forehead (before anyone goes full KM, it was the only thing I could see) from close distance (under 10 metres), only to be shot in the neck by a G18 burst as I closed in on him. Meh, took it and didn't complain, he looked like Jesus Christ with his crown of thorns, 'twas enough for me. Last game was surreal though, one guy and I did a super long flank on the enemy defenders until we stumbled upon this girl who was looking the other way (she somehow didn't hear us and we almost missed her entirely), at this point I aim at her butt, flick to semi but the gun doesn't fire, she notices that we are both aiming at her from literally 3 metres, raises her gun but I've already vanished behind cover. My teammate went behind the very tree she was hiding in before she could let the first shot off. She tried to burst my ass but I had switched to the AAP and put 4 rounds in her mask, my teammates pops out of cover and puts another 3 in her side, meanwhile she sweeps the void in a somewhat desperate attempt to hit us as we were on her 3 and 9 o'clock from her position. She calls the hit and rushes to our club's president to call us out because we "blatantly cheated".. Fuck's sake it was going soooooo well0 points
