  2. I own the CYMA 701b. Purchased from Taiwangun for £80. To begin with: If you are comfortable to lay down, wait for about 30 minutes for one kill, and move on then carry on. Onto the gun itself: The Gun breaks into three sections, The furniture is Plastic, make no mistakes. As such it is very light, this can be fixed by using weights / poly filler or whichever. (I actually would suggest using filler of some kind, as it removes the reverbrations of sound from inside the furniture) The Barrel / Trigger Mech / Cylinder are the heaviest parts, and in balance it easily requires a strong support arm otherwise you're going to have a bad time balancing. There is a trigger guard which comes seperately and requires you to attach it to the trigger mech before then attaching to the furniture. Three screws, farily secure with no movement. As for upgrades, this will completely accept VSR10 uprgades. - Check here for a complete list of parts / and a guide to doing so. It fires (Chronoed personally and at shop): .2 = 490 FPS .36 = 365 FPS For aethsetics you can potentially buy a M700 wood furniture for this, and with a little bit of work, it will sit snugly. As for the mags comment above, you get 3 with the gun from TWG and each one after is £10 a pop My main concerns with the rifle out of the box? It has a crimped metal cylinder. This WILL become fragile and break with wear, So I completely suggest changing it sooner than later. It is light, as mentioned above. There are no sling loops. Anything you would like to know specifically?

    GHK G5 GBBR questions

Does anyone own, or have experience with, a GHK G5 GBBR? What is it like to use? I know that it is not based on an original real steel but it appears to be a reasonably priced (£265) starter gas rifle. Its size would make it good for CQB. Also it has quad rails for attaching a flashlight and foregrip, etc. Does it reliably work in cold weather? Adverts claim it can go to -10 C, if true then it would be perfect for the UK weather, and useful all year. Are there other gas magazines that work with the GHK G5? The proprietary ones cost £45-55, so a cheaper option would be good. Especially as each low-cap mag only holds 38-40 bb. Can the stock tube/adaptor which allows M4 style stocks also take MP5 or HK416C collapsible stocks? Can you attach a sling to the G5? If so, is it one, two or three point attachment?

  4. Had my eye on this one for a very long time.. Anyone knows if there is any other brand than the AY? or if the AY can be made into something decent? or what gearbox/hop unit/etc it uses (I assume swapping the gearbox would be step one)? the foregrip looks big enough for a small lipo brick? will the externals fall apart just from looking at it? Thanks just thought I'd mention this.. despite being called "m4", its not an AR:

  5. looks a little similar to the Echo 1 GAT that finally went on sale recently (well to me it does) http://echo1usa.com/x/the-echo1-general-assault-tool-gat/ OOOPPPSSSssssssss my bad they do the Spectre too - same meat it looks to me http://echo1usa.com/x/echo1-spectre-rdp-available-now/ one or two people on Airsoft Mechanics have ripped it to bits to make a typical AM nutter rof build is is a kinda bespoke or altered gearbox I think based on v3 but all/most bits are normal aeg stuff like regular v3's well that was the GAT - dunno about spectre coz only just 5 mins ago found out they did that too maybe Evike or Airsoft GI order time as they do ship to UK. (custom's could be a 8itch but deffo different)

  7. Oh man, I actually want one of these as well I think it has a V3 gearbox so it can be swapped out, not sure on the hop up though. I also can't expect the externals to be brilliant...

  8. 1) I both own and use a g5. Its bloody good fun and a cracking little rifle. It's not the most accurate in the world, but it's not bad by a long shot 2) its loosely based on a cz scorpion evo 3. It's a great starter rifle owing to its gas efficiency and how easy it is to field strip and maintain 3) it works amazing in cold weather. Ignore the redwolf propaganda video (its not the least bit scientifically accurate). Mine was going strong when it was hovering just above freezing and my WE pistol gave up the ghost. The fps did suffer a little, and using it in cold conditions will strain the nozzle assembly and lower receiver. Some people have had issues with their lower receiver cracking, but this is usually due in part to user-mods like converting to hpa or plating with the power. 4) You might find some mags that work, I think the GHK m4 mags work, but I've heard of issues using the g5 mags in other guns. I definitely recommend sticking with the g5 mags, they're really reliable, easy to look after and great in the cold due to their high thermal mass 5) I've seen someone with a 416 collapsible stock, but I'm not sure about mp5 stocks. The adaptor takes an AEG style buffer tube. 6) it has a rear sling point for a one point sling (look at the rear left side of the top rail). It's plastic but pretty tough, and mine isn't showing any signs of wear after a few months rough treatment. If you are joining us on the dark side the g5 is a great way to start. Just be ready to give it a good ten minutes Sat down with some tissue a d silicone oil after every game, and look after the internals, particularly within the bolt assembly

  10. You do realise that there is very little difference in range and accuracy between a sniper rifle and a decent aeg. Your going to spend most of your day just getting peppered by the people who can go full auto. Very few people make sniping wprk in airsoft, listen to the good advice above and go for an aeg look at the m14 it will suit you better.

  13. Hi Lozart thanks for your info. I am pretty set on sniping. And I know I'm going against the grain with sniping first but I really want a bolt action. So Lozart you'd go for the vsr bar 10? Anything wrong with the other one I looked at? Ooo any reviews or the l96? I've heard it's inaccurate is it really bad?

  14. Firstly hi and welcome. Secondly if this is your first gun I assume you don't have your UKARA registration in place yet so you'll need to have the gun two toned. Thirdly and probably most importantly, don't get a sniper rifle for your first gun. Seriously, buy an AEG run around and hive fun. The general consensus is that sniper rifles are a very good way to spend a lot of money not getting very far. That said, if your heart is set on the long guns then there's PLENTY of aftermarket upgrades around for the VSR/BAR 10.

  15. ......And noone picked up on this being able to be taken two ways? oooo matron !!! I never know how to be pc at all. My mate who is gay is also a 6'5" MMA fighting doorman.....I often refer to him as "Sasague Jockey" and he calls me "Muff nibbler". I have no idea why people get so caught up and over nervous, I have caused offense in the past to people but after a short chat they realise my intentions are always respectful and never to be taken seriously. I think we should all chill out & realise that life is way too important to take seriously

    KSC G26c advice please

Before you replace any magazine parts, split the parts and leave any valves or o-rings in a bottle of silicone oil overnight, then 're assemble and see if it holds gas, that has always worked with my magazine woes I don't know how to disassemble your mags, but they aren't usually difficult things, my kjw 226 mags were fiddly but not difficult

  17. I think they use King BB's. Not sure. It was my first time airsofting and Spec Ops is where I went. Met Ragedy man there and had a great time and have now signed up. Got to get some mags, battery and see if this 10 year old Marui M4A1 still works. Come along, the more the merrier!

  18. Actually I think the ability to comment more freely makes this the most decent forum out there.I think its the responsibility of all airsofters to help prevent people from being ripped off. If someone is selling something that is rare or collectible for more than its original value thats fine. But selling something for more than its worth in the hope of someone being stupid enough to buy it is out of order. Some people on here say its the fault of the buyer for being ripped off because they should do there homework, this is true to a point but I still think the seller has the moral responsibility not to take advantage of someones ignorance. Its called being fair and decent and if your not and someone trashes your sale its your own fault for being a nob. Sorry to hear about your sale going wrong but if the person who says they could get it cheaper doesn't provide any evidence then they should be ignored anyway,I know I would.

    Baofeng UV-5R

Amazon sell them at good prices. I’ve had one before it was really good, battery lasted for days but it’s a little tricky to manually program so unless you have the programming cable and frequency doc it’ll be a ball ache. Overall though they good. think they are like £25-30 off Amazon buddy. http://www.amazon.co.uk/BaoFeng-UV-5R-136-174-400-480-Dual-Band/dp/B007HH6RR4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1437032171&sr=8-1&keywords=Baofeng+UV-5R

  23. It's all about context. If one gay man says "you're so damn gay" to his friend it probably isn't an insult but if someone else shouts it at the same person with intent then yes it probably is an insult. In the same way that the Royal Philharmonic playing Ace of Spades isn't heavy metal but Motorhead playing Beethoven's 5th definitely is.

  24. how is calling a gay person "gay" an insult in the first place?

  25. Unless you are trying to have sex with someone, I don't see why anyone needs to mention or refer to someone's sexual preference at all.
