  1. Anyone who laughs at a 14 year old for having a 2-tone isn't worth knowing anyway!

Tavor is another to look at.

  3. Bull pups seem to be reasonably expensive and at£200 you probably won't be able to get many mags with one. Have a look at jg. I believe they make a p90 and aug and are reasonably priced

  4. There's someone selling a G&G F2000 on the zeroone forums for around that much, they can run midcaps but do require a slight modification to the magazine. +Solidly built +Long Barrel +Good internally +Can use 2 point sling, but will require you to fabricate the rear attachment (not difficult) +Very easy to take apart +Good battery space (can fit 2200mah 7.4 lipo) +Excellent balance, center sits right above the trigger -Quite a lot of proprietary internals -Weird trigger system, really needs a mosfet - but simple to install on v6 gearbox -Fairly weighty compared to an m4 -Not much you can do to it externally -It's fat, like really chunky. Takes a bit of getting used to. Think you'll struggle to get a good bullpup for £200 new, they tend to be relatively expensive.

A sensible set of questions and you obviously have an analytical mind. Unfortunately, I cant stand the Bullpup design and dont own any, so can't give you a review. I do have a 416 though and am a little mystified by your weight/balance comment. Mine is quite well balanced and was quite manageable until I loaded it up with furniture. If you find a metal rifle like a 416/M4 heavy, have you looked at polymer based rifles ? either the plastic versions of real steel rifles like the M4 or replicas that are polymer in real life i.e. UMP Unfortunately, there aren't that many bullpup designs to choose from in airsoft and your budget will make it even more restrictive. The L85 is probably the most common and there have been a number of posts on here about the merits of the different models. The Steyr is another and the Real Sword 97B is probably one of the best (and most expensive). Good luck in your search.

If you onyl have £200. your best bet would probably be trying to find a secondhand ICS or G&G L85.theyre around £200 with some mags

  9. TM tracer keeps up with high ROF a bit better, I tried an ASG & Madbull one and found they missed a beat or two. Also found only the TM and Xcortech are self-contained well enough to not see the strobe go off when facing it (not a big issue when the point of a tracer is to make your shots visible, but it does give a flashing beacon of exactly where the end of your gun (and you) are). I've managed to pick out people firing them from dark rooms much better due to this effect.

  10. There's still the TM famas lurking around if you don't mind the creaky plastic - oldest aeg to date but still performs well. The tavor is another one but the ares ones have plastic gearboxes. Jg aug is a decent option. The P90 is another great light weight and short option. There's also the APS UAR but honestly they thing is ugly as fuk. And there are 2 more you might wanna consider but the're out of your reach atm (£300+) G&G F2000 amd TM High Cycle AUG The high cycle aug has a fine tuned gearbox which fires 25 rps with an 8.4v battery which is insane. You pretty much don't need to upgrade this gun if you get it.

  11. APS UAR from using it a couple games and such is good and can take longer barrels if needed

  12. Sorry for the double post, just picked my gun up to have a look at the paint job, and it seems I can actually scratch bits of paint off with my thumb nail JustBBguns shoddy paint job might actually be a blessing in disguise, this might be a much easier job that I thought!

  13. hugely over priced for what it is. you can buy a VSR and grab parts from ASPUK for a lot cheaper. Or buy a clone, some of them are good base guns.

  14. Well, you will be laughed at no matter what - I had my fair share of it years back with an orange AK. If you really are that self conscious about it then rent a gun, they are usually G36s, M4s and AKs. Most people say a G&G CM16 variant as a solid starter gun; most around the £100 are decent starter guns, just don't buy from dodgy brand and websites like JustBBguns etc.

2 Tone BB guns at skirmishes

As previously said, we all have to start somewhere. Some people will poo-poo you for your two-tone, but at the end of the day if that's all you can get then so be it. I have never been a 'serious' airsofter in over 16 years - I wear what I want, and use whatever weapon(s) I want; I don't care about realism just to have a good time. Some people are ultra serious, and this is where you may find some snobbery. As for sites banning two-tone weapons? Well, they probably won't be worth playing at as a new starter (they probably cater for the 'realists') Baz JJ summed it up - research and have fun

if you are less than 18, you can only have two tone, Many sites allow players to play from 13 up and there are plenty of two tone weapons at most skirmish sites (except for some that dont allow them). Do your research and have fun.

2 Tone BB guns at skirmishes

Yes, people do take two tones to Skirmish. You'll only get laughed at by the 1337 guys, but who cares about them anyway. Watch out for some sites which ban two tone though. Sandpit springs to mind as being mentioned previously. Have fun!

  18. As I said each to there own. I personally like the light show you get with tracers and want the bbs to glow as bright as possible. If that doesnt interest you then the asg is a good little unit certainly works as well as if not better than the madbull and g&g units. I use an xcortech but unless you want all the extra features its an unnecessary expense and eats batteries at a fair old rate.

  19. The Mall permits lasers, but only short burst and only below chest height. If someone breaks these rules then they ban lasers for everyone for rest of the day/eve, and this happens EVERY time lol.

  20. Replacing the hop unit / hop rubber should be more effective at improving range and accuracy than upgrading the barrel. Or general maintenance (cleaning the stock barrel) usually does a lot more for performance than people think.

  21. nearly all places will require you to play at one site for ukara (tbh I can only see them allowing this if and it is still an if - if they had more than one site under their names) makes it easier and more importantly your ukara entry on database is linked to you local regular site half days do actually count - suppose you could book pay go out then go home done that once or twice when my gun broke I went home home with the right hump stomping off about my toy broke Waaaaaahhhhhhhhhh - its not fair wwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  22. Great tip - just seen Tesco do the 1l bottles for 80p and the funnels look pretty perfectly sized. Interestingly if you search Tesco's website for "Ironing Water" it brings up Jack Daniels too. Seems a bit of a waste to me?

  23. For many years I have used bottles that previous contained ironing water...Comform Vaporeese or Tesco Ironing Water. Both of these have built-in funnels and make filling hi-cap magazines incredibly easy. Obviously dry the bottle thoroughly first...

  24. I think someone has underestimated one radios, my 70 quid pair of Topcom airsoft edition one radios works just fine with little battery left through a KILOMETRE of URBAN terrain. I haven't tested any further than that because that's already over twice as big as any site I know

    GHK M4/L119a1 Appraisal

I'd say £400. I couldn't see anyone showing an interest at anything higher as you know that people only want the best stuff at stupidly low prices. Anything higher than £400 you'd just be getting trade offers.

    Newby to Airsoft

Play some games first and rent until you know enough to see if you like it. To get a reasonable starter gun, you will need to invest around £150. Dont be conned into buying a cheap two tone plinker which is designed as a garden toy.

  29. Not much gun stuff, trying to make some actual 'sets' of camo up in the collection as right now I have a random mix of tops and trousers in different camos that largely don't match up, as well as a lot of things that didn't fit me on account of buying medium shirts for years when I've actually always needed small. Slowly filling the gaps to make up the sets and replacing the stuff that's incorrectly sized. 30. When painting guns I just put screwed up newspaper in the magwell and the end of the barrel and crack on. The gearbox is pretty well sealed up and the hop unit can't get paint inside it if you seal the magwell and barrel. Complete disassembly and taking gearboxes out etc is massive overkill.
