  1. Okto Eight, part of Filmsim Ltd, has taken its operation from Facebook. The game organiser, which runs military simulation games on the four Gunman Airsoft sites and occasionally on third party sites, has shifted its community to its own website at www.oktoeightmilsim.com and closed its various FB groups. Their only remaining FB presence is the Okto Eight and Bad To The Bone outward-facing pages. They feel that their website offers greater clarity for their players and additional features to suit their needs going forward.
  2. Gunman Airsoft are taking over the site in November.
  3. Played at Tuddenham today and gave my MP5K an airing round the buildings. Rain held off and we had a balmy 12 Degrees.

Was on my way South after having been up on the River Clyde and popped in today, I had reserved a grenade launcher by phone yesterday and stopped to collect, Friendly and efficient, they verified my UKARA from postcode in seconds. Had a quick browse around the shop, which was busy. They have some interesting products you don't see everywhere. They dont supply carrier bags, so make sure you have something to put purchases in if you are using public transport.
  5. There is no reason why one type of BaoFeng shouldnt communicate with another if they have the same frequencies. It was probably either a set up issue or your radios were of the programmed kind, with (different) preset frequencies. PMR446 uses 8 frequencies so any PMR446 should be able to talk to any other.
  6. You will only be able to rent at an airsoft game. As I mentioned in the other thread, if you want to play at Eversley, the Gunman site there charge £25 for a days rental.
  7. G&G are a problem with many mags. I usually use G&G mags with G&G guns and other makes with non guay guay products.
  8. This isnt a police state mate. Weve had people blowing us up for years. Leave your guns, knives and mags behind and just bring your clothes and boots.
  9. There are no shops at Eversley but the site is in a big UK military area i.e. Aldershot etc not far away so there should be a plethora of shops. Have a look online at Socom Tactical which is probably the nearest proper airsoft retailer, but there should be lots of military surplus shops locally. It shouldnt be a problem bringing clothes though UK border control.
  10. Has anybody heard about Paypal banning airsoft transactions or was that an idea of an April Foolx joke ? Saw something from LWA about it, saying they are stopping accepting Paypal ?
  11. Initially, I tried to start airsoft with my son, but he kept prevaricating so I went alone in the end. He now has his own rifle and plays very occasionally but Ive just gone on to do it and he comes along if he wants. The other day I suggested I buy his rifle off him because it gets so little use and he started making excuses so there is hope.
  12. Welcome. You wont be able to play at any sites with that fps. Most use around 350fps as a limit for woodland and even less for CQB. So yes it will need a spring downgrade. Presumerably the battery goes in the stock, so a 7.4V LIPO stick is ideal. There have been some recent threads about LIPO and recommended chargers.
  13. the amount of furniture you can fit on a general purpose rifle is very varied. It just comes down to what you like. As Samurai said, look on the internet. its a chance to express yourself and make your G26 different to everybody elses. It amazes me when people say what gun shall I buy, what shall I fit on it. Its one of the few freedoms we have and to me, its one of the most enjoyable parts of guns. Bear in mind, the more you add, the heavier it will be to lug round all game. Personally, I love suppressors - have them on nearly every SMG and rifle. I especially like those that look like suppressors but make the noise louder. Just check what thread you have i.e. CW or CCW and make sure you order the right one.
  14. Didn't give it much thought at the start, but now when I look at new guns, I always think about size of battery and how accessible it is, plus mag availability.
  15. No dont have anything against TT in a skirmish. The BBs hurt just as much. I don't really see much immersion in skirmishes.
  16. I love TM stuff although not impressed by the AA12 looks. Im going to a gas and spring day at Gunman Tuddenham on Sunday, where aegs are banned. Looking forward to seeing some use of gas and spring boomsticks around the buildings. The plan is for Okto to put on a short milsim scenario bed wetter - cant wait.
  17. they offer rental rifles (£25 per day I think), there is no law about playing airsoft and yes you can bring your own kit and loadout. Their website is http://www.gunmanairsoft.co.uk/
  18. Yes I get involved in writing milsims for the site operator/parent company behind Gunman and have played Eversley as one of the sites we use. What do you want to know?
  19. Sometimes you have to go a few times. I noticed when I started that even if you talk to people, they will answer you politely but then dismiss you as they go off into their teams and cliques for the game. Identify individuals that might also be on their own rather than groups of guys. I found the safe zone to be a good place to mix, before the game or during lunch. After I went a few times to AWA to get my initial UKARA, some people who I spoke to previously would acknowledge me and even invite me to set up next to them. Bear in mind that people you speak to might not be there again. I used to not like going to places on my own or starting conversations with strangers in unfamiliar places when I was younger but a working life of working overseas on my own and having to address large groups of strangers has made me realise that I no longer give a *uck what people think of me. Also, very importantly, remember that airsoft attracts a wide cross section. Most players have some sort of issues (hey we're grown men spending Sunday hunting each other with toy guns), so dont fall into the trap of thinking everybody else is an Arnie Terminator indestructable and its just you. Welcome to the airsoft circus. Failing that, what does it matter. Once youre playing, it doesnt matter. Airsoft is certainly more fun with familiar faces and social interaction. Failing that, come up to Tuddenham on a milsim lite day and we'll sort you out.
  20. Welcome. Gunman Airsoft Eversley just up the road from Farnborough.
  21. Am I missing something ? The self Check says The United Kingdom Airsoft Retailers Association was formed in response to the 2006 Violent Crime Reduction Bill to enable a safe method of selling Realistic Imitation Firearms (RiF's) to the UK Airsoft player market The UKARA Player Self Check system must only be used by Players who have been entered onto the UKARA database. "Self Check" is for checking that you are on the system and that your details are correct it is not a tool to provide purchase eligibility confirmation that should be done through a UKARA retailer or your game site. Your IP Address and the Date & Time have now been stored which enable your location to be traced Any unauthorised use will be reported to the relevant authorities Please do not carry your RiF exposed to view in a public place, this would be an offence and of detriment to the sport and lead to a suspension of player registration with UKARA
  22. I don't think you can check other people (the self check is for you to check yourself) and only a retailer can log in and see the address etc ?
