Went out to RIFT the battery yesterday, and had another awesome day, despite the heat and humidity, so I was grateful for the short games with breaks in between. As I had finally got the spare mags that were on back order arrive a few weeks ago, I decided to run my Krytac Kriss Vector as my main weapon, with my TM Lycoris Recoil as a sidearm, with my KWA Beretta 93r coming out briefly for a game too. Got to site and got set up pretty quickly so I could have a go at setting the hop on the vector before chrono opened. Initially I started on red team, but got moved over to blue team in the afternoon along with a few others to rebalanced the teams after a few people dropped out, presumably due to the heat. Hit taking was excellent from what I saw, and there was plenty of good sportsmanship from both sides in calling trades and fist bumping or congratulating players for good shots etc. Ran into a couple of snags with my equipment on the day which now need sorting.. The first was my smoke generator suppressor. I noticed that the muzzle flash was inconsistent and the smoke generator was no longer producing smoke, despite the fan triggering, so I think it's now officially dead, which is annoying as it looked amazing on my other guns loke the VFC M249... so it was retired and I salvaged the Acetech Brighter-C tracer unit I had fitted into it to give it tracer function so that I could continue using tracer bbs (desperately needed in the dimly lit areas) And finally, I had a red dot I borrowed from another gun to put on the vector shot out, leaving me unable to see much through the broken glass. As I didn't have an allen key on me to remove it, I was forced to guestimate my shots from the tracers for most of a game before I was able to remove it during a break in the safe zone and resorting to iron sights for the rest of the day... so now I need a new red dot. All in all, it was a great day, and i hope to get to this site many more times before it gets redeveloped in a couple of years time.2 points

Picked up a couple of these recently as the OD Guarder frames are getting harder to come by and it's such an amazing colour (the camera doesn't do it justice). The base gun itself is the very capable KJW Glock 23C, with a metal slide. The slide is adorned with deep laser engraved Glock markings, which are of course complimented by the Guarder frame. As per the title this hasn't been skirmished but Glocks rub the outer barrel from pretty much the first shot. Also some paint has come off the body pins from where they've been pushed in during fitting of the new frame. Other than that it's pretty much as new. Will come with one mag and in it's original box. Stated price includes PayPal fees and tracked courier.£99

On the cheaper end, I have a set of Earmor m31s (not m32s, m32 are the radio comms and I have some of those too) and they're decent enough and can be bought on Aliexpress for £30 + tax. There are definitely better out there, so look around with your budget as your budget is significantly higher, but these work for me and they amplify small ambient noises like footsteps and leaf rustling, while cutting down on pyro boom boom noises. My next experiment I'm waiting on are a set of Earmor m20s, which are in-ear protection as my ghillie setup uses a boonie and headsets like the m31/m32s don't work well with boonies, especially not since my boonie is my ghillie headpiece and I don't want to cover my ghillie camo with earpro. I can't comment on them though because they probably won't arrive until either late this week (ideal as I'm playing on Sunday) or early next week (more likely because Sod's Law)1 point

Back at the Stan again this sunday, 8 from our regular team (Sherwood Sentinels) and then another 6 including my Son in Law and Grandson so we made up not far off half of the players booked on for the day. Played the usual selection of games, pushback, the case game and then kill confirmed (final game of the day was infected but I never play those) for the most part the day went pretty well, we were dominating a little and this usually leads to bitching and today was no exception. What we are starting to find is that opposition are not used to or expecting a co-ordinated organised team coming at them with a plan and this leads to assumption you must be running god mode. Apparently a couple of people left at lunchtime saying they had a decent day but have since been spouting how rubbish it is and they will never be back, for those people you just need to be better, if you genuinely have a problem raise it with the marshals there and then, at least they have a chance to address your issues. There were a couple of speedsofters there who were copping a lot of flak for running hot and not hit taking, but I played on their team and against them and had no issue at all, they were even randomly Chrono'd and came in well under the limit. People just like a target to moan about sometimes. I know I have said it before but it is worth saying again, if you haven't tried the Stan since it re-opened give it a go, night games every other friday night (lots of fun in the dark) and every Sunday. also check out their socials (bias to declare here as my Son has just started managing them for them ) https://www.instagram.com/tachouse_thestan/ Friday night squad, we are back again this friday1 point -

Seconded on the SSX303 option- mine doesn't do a bad job of emulating a sniper. Albeit I bought it during winter, and found out to my costs that even with red gas, I could only get something approaching consistency on the first 4 or 5 rounds from each mag (until i bought an airtac HPA adaptor for it). But during the warmer months, it would probably be spot on stock, or with a tridos hop arm added. They seem to go on sale with a fair discount every now and then.1 point -

They were (based on the face level of reporting*) acting in a manner that members of this forum and responsible airsofters would not endorse. They were a bit naughty, brought attention to themselves and got caught. * the area does have some ‘green’, I’ll be more sympathetic if in their minds they went somewhere out of the way, had a few test/practice shots in a bush and ended up in trouble As opposed to heading up the street and shooting a bush With their ages their should have been some form of common sense, but it’s not as common as we may wish1 point

Section 161 is titled "Penalties for causing certain kinds of danger or annoyance". It is mainly to keep the highway safe and free of distraction. Specifically it prohibits the actions of "lighting" a fire, or "discharging" fireworks or firearms. Fire itself can be dangerous and highly distracting/annoying, but it is the action of starting a fire that is illegal. Fireworks and firearms can also be dangerous and highly distracting/annoying, but it is the action of firing that is illegal. Coming back to airsoft, the mere sight of someone waving a realistic looking gun shaped object by itself doesn't qualify for Section 161. It is the firing of airsoft that got them done in. Airsoft can also be loud. Stray BBs can be dangerous. It's exactly the type of danger or annoyance Section 161 is written to protect highways from.1 point

When I'm out in the countryside at this time of year I end up crawling with ticks if I don't give myself a spray down with tickspray. The last game I was at was deep in tick country and none of our group picked up a single one after we had a good spray down. Ingredients: 1 spray bottle, 2 parts water, 1 part vinegar, a squirt of tea tree oil. As an added bonus it keeps most of the flies and midges at bay (and leaves you smelling like a chippy on a Saturday night).1 point -

Oof, yeah take it easy on that, at least like you say you were able to keep doing something at the time - did something similar stepping a football that I didn't realise had been kicked under my feet from behind me, actually fractured a metatarsal as I put all my weight on a sideways foot to instinctively stop myself falling.0 points -

Well, yesterday we had 108 players on the field. Everyone seemed to have a great day... ... except me. Marshaling the second game of the day, waking down a hill, stepped on a thick fallen branch that was concealed in long grass. The branch rolled, along with my ankle. I felt my foot fold, but my weight was on that side, so I let myself fall, though according to those watching I fell "gracefully" 🤣 I also heard a POP as my foot folded. 😬 Embarrassingly a weapons down was called. I stayed sat down, tested my ankle rotation, and all seemed good so I got up with some assistance, and hobbled off. I marshalled one more game, and spent the rest of the day sat down at mags and tags, as there were people in and out of the safe zone all day, so it was a good use of my time without having to walk. At end of day I took my boot off, and my ankle immediately swelled. I'm thinking now that "ah, I'll walk it off" may not have been the best idea. Thankfully I don't have to be back on site till Wednesday, but right now I'm thinking I may need to go get it looked at. It's more painful than it was. Oh well!0 points
