So, I haven't shared this yet despite having it sat around for a few months. For context this was a boneyard A&K Masada/ACR. When I got it, the exterior of the rifle was scuffed, chipped and dented beyond belief and the previous owner had even super glued rails to the handguard. Instead of fixing the ambi fire selector properly, they had also super glued the fire selector on which I've since fixed. Since it was already destroyed externally I decided to go the absolute opposite way of what I normally go for, so I went with the brightest colours I could think of. Is it cursed? I think I actually prefer it to the standard look of most of my RIFs.

This beautiful custom 1911 was purchased from another user here on the classifieds a while ago and has spent its life as a display piece. Having to sell it on due to finances. I payed £450 for it at the time. Asking £380 for it now. It is a TM MEU based 1911 fully upgraded with a rare, custom-order guarder kit along with fully steel/stainless external parts and upgraded internals. It took a lot of headache (and money) to get it spec'd out exactly like a RS Springfield Professional 1911, Hopefully if you're into 1911's you would appreciate this is the original 1911 model that passed the FBI HRT trials, and also was the base for the well known MEU pistol's late variants. Even if you don't care about that stuff, it's a beautifully kitted out pistol nonetheless, and as far as I know the only one in the airsoft world that sports the original Professional look. The gun comes with the pistol itself and 2 magazines. Price is £380 - includes PayPal fees and postage I've listed the full list of upgrades below - split into upper and lower assembly for convenience. Upper TM MEU base gun Guarder custom order aluminum kit for MEU (S.A. Pro model) Guarder Loading nozzle & valve Guarder lightweight nozzle housing Airsoft Masterpiece stainless barrel bushing Guarder steel front and rear sights Nineball vsr-10 purple hop rubber Guarder steel spring plug Guarder steel slide stop reinforcement (internal) Guarder steel dummy firing pin and pad Guarder stainless recoil spring guide Nineball dyna piston head Nineball 6.00 power barrel (112.5mm) Guarder steel outer barrel & chamber (nowlin .45 marking) AIP CNC brass hop adjusting wheel for hi capa Lower Guarder steel mainspring housing for MEU (black) Nova Springfield ambi thumb safety (stainless, Cerakoted graphite black) Navidrex mahogany grips (custom order, square magwell cut and finished with tung oil) Nova 3 hole CNC aluminum trigger for MEU Guarder stainless trigger bow Guarder stainless sear spring Guarder steel hammer for MEU black Guarder steel hammer strut WIITECH CNC steel mainspring plunger AIP CNC steel hammer sear AIP stainless firing pin lock Cowcow IP1 stainless disconnector Guarder steel valve knocker Guarder steel hammer & sear pins Guarder steel grip safety (black) Guarder steel magazine release button Guarder steel slide stop (black) Guarder stainless plunger tube (black) Guarder stainless plunger pins (black) Guarder steel grip screw (black, finish is worn) Laylax (nineball) "AERO" purple gas routes for mag (x2) 2x TM MEU magazines

  13. No, run .25s if you want. You can get some nice performance out of HPA using heavy BBs because you don't have to worry about air volume like you generally do with AEGs, but it's not the be all and end all. There's also a bunch of reasons why heavier in general is better, but that's across all platforms, not just HPA. I'm tired of people pretending HPA is some sort of magical system that does something revolutionary when it's functionally the same as an AEG (using air to propel a small plastic ball). Will you get better performance out of heavier BBs? Yes Will using .25s be pointless? No

  18. Lol An elderly man rear-ended a guy driving an expensive European sports car. Enraged, the guy hops out and confronts the old man. He yells, "Look what you did to my car! You're going to give me $10,000 right now or I'm going to beat you to a pulp!" "Oh my…" the old man said nervously. "I don't have that kind of money. Let me call my son.” he said with hope. “He trains dolphins and he will know what to do." "Dolphins!" the other driver huffed, while rolling his eyes. The old man pulled out his phone, dialed his son, and just as his son answered, the irate man snatched the phone away from the old man. "So, YOU'RE a dolphin trainer, huh?” The irate man yelled, “Well, your old man here just rear-ended my car and I need TEN GRAND right now, or I'm going to beat you AND your old man to a pulp!" "I'll be there in 10 minutes." says the voice calmly on the other end. Exactly 10 minutes later, a Jeep pulls up and a guy hops out and proceeds to pulverize the bully, leaving him in a heap on the side of the road. When he finished, he walked over to his father and said, "For the last time dad, I train Seals… Navy Seals. NOT dolphins!”

  19. Another possibly obvious question - noting that the gun contains a mosfet, there may well be a drain on the battery when it is connected. Are you leaving the battery in it, and connected? If you have done that, even for a few days, it is possible that you have drained the lipo to a voltage that has caused damage to the battery - i.e. it won't really take charge any more. When you buy a replacement battery, as per the suggestions above (i have found Turnigy batteries, purchased from Hobbyking good and super cheap), ensure that you never store the battery connected, and ideally store the battery at a 2/3rds charge (a so called 'storage charge' if you aren't using it for a month or so,

    We L85 Mag Issue

So, bit of a weird one I’ve not ran into before… The 3 WE M4 mags I have, all seem to be dropping down on my SA80 resulting in dry firing with no BB’s being pushed into battery. If you slowly push the bolt forwards watching the nozzle, you can see the nozzle actually push the BB down in the magazine. I assumed the mag catch was worn, but it seems fine except from one corner worn slightly. These same mags work flawlessly in my M16A1 so I don’t think it’s a magazine issue, plus it does it on all 3 mags. I thought about tape, but I tried 3 different spots with no luck. Anybody have any ideas for a fix?

    We L85 Mag Issue

I'll have to double check and see if mine does the same... All 3 of the "30 rounders" work fine in my m16a1 with no issue, feeds every bb etc. I figured I'd try the "20 rounders" in my SA80 and had the same issue. When I was testing the SA80 earlier, rarely one BB will make it through however now I know it's having issues I don't want to fire it properly in case more damage is caused.

  27. Ofc it does matter. You can joule creep quite easily.

  28. Most CQB sites don't like heavy BB's anyway - at CQB engagement distances the difference between a 0.25 and a 0.32+ is negligible.

    We L85 Mag Issue

That's why I tried the tape trick, normally does work but this time nothing. When I insert the mag (With the top half off) the bolt release bar turns at an angle (Roughly 45 degrees), I was wondering if that is normal?

  34. I did look at the other Victoptics ones, but honestly that 1-6x is the best for what I want it to do. Good to hear that there is no real discernable difference (my eyesight is only 20/20 when corrected too!) and £91 is absolutely fine for me to pay. If I was getting a scope for a real gun I'd spend more and also if I was getting a scope for one of my bolt action rifles or DMRs I'd spend more as well because I love my long distance archery airsoft, but as it's for a 1.1J recce rifle style build, I'm sure this 1-6x will be absolutely fine for what I want to do
    1 point
  35. I have both Vector Optics and Victoptics scopes and honestly, I'm hard pressed to see the difference. Granted my eyesight is only 202/20 when it's corrected and I'm just using it for airsoft but still. If you want to go cheaper and simpler Victoptics do a 1-4 LPVO now as well https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002037442492.html?pdp_npi=4%40dis!GBP!£67.32!£49.14!!!81.29!59.34!%40211b801517132614736886930e161e!12000036678249127!sh!UK!759559025!&spm=a2g0o.store_pc_allItems_or_groupList.new_all_items_2007523591909.1005002037442492

  36. Ah, I'm using the G&P mount on my socom as well, so that's definitely a concern. My cheapo LPVO cleared the rear sight on some pretty low mounts, but it's obviously not the same LPVO, so will have to see. The mounts that it comes with look medium-ish (not going for the one-piece mount), so I'll try those out. If not, I'll measure them and get lower ones accordingly. I think I might just get the victoptics one, since a bunch of you have said it's good and at the current sale price on Aliexpress it feels like a steal at £76 £91 including tax. Plus I just got a new job (offer literally came in this morning) with a decent pay bump, so I'm sure I can afford to buy one

  38. I'm certain that has nothing to do with the BB weight, sounds more like hop problems. Sure, on lower power builds the performance increase of using heavier BBs is less noticeable than on higher power builds. Because the Heavy BBs have less initial velocity to conserve better than their lighter counterpart. But no matter what, if you have a hop that imparts the same relative spin on both the light and the heavy BB, the heavy BB goes farther. It wont run out of magnus effect sooner. It is heavier, heavy things conserve energy better, and as such will spin longer, prolonging the magnus effect, and conserving the muzzle energy for longer making them faster than lighter BBs at any range farther than ~10-20 metres.

  40. So...after three different outfits, light grey, dark grey and bronzed black, I gave up and went mainstream..... It's not much to shout about but 1.1j and not too bad to look at now.. 😁 Cheers for the ideas. 👍😁

  41. Obvious question - are you trying to fire it without a mag in? There's a switch in the magwell that works with the specific mags they use to stop on empty. If it's not pressed in it won't fire.
    1 point
  42. That's fair, I have the G&P mounts for mine so they sit quite low anyway. Medium rings the scope at a decent height for me. I might still have some low rings though (I'll have a look and drop you a DM). This is mine for reference - be aware if you go too low you may end up fouling on the rear sight!

    Gun picture thread

New 'inexpensive' DMR build. Base gun is a polymer GE 417, for weight and low price. Out of the box it was pretty horrid , but tbf for what it cost I wasn't expecting much. Gearbox is a long V2 with a mosfet and some sort of electronic full auto set up, no COL and a micro switch whitch enables full auto. I'm not realy a fan of mosfets as I see it as adding unnecisary electronic crap, ( and I'm normally running GBBR) but I'll concede that the lack of COL is handy in a semi locked pew. I've replaced the piston head and added a slightly longer double o ring nozzle, compression is now awesome. Switched to a ZCI rotary hop and inner barrel, along with a M/L rubber and Omega nub. Also a high torque motor. Now running at 1.78j on my home chrono on .36BBs. Quick blow over with Halfords paint to make it look a bit less plastic and added a few spare decals I had. It'll get a run out next game to shake it down, but happy with that.

  46. O’Tom tick twister great for removing ticks - there’s always a risk of squeezing too hard with tweezers and leaving the tick’s head under the skin, leading to infection. Smidge, another top recommendation - made from natural ingredients, kind to skin and plastic toy gnus and smells nice. The benefits of 30+ years living, working and playing in the outdoors… 🙂

To me it depends on the gun. For example I'm happy to take a rattle can to a M4 but my SL8 is staying black as imo it looks far better that way
