I do like myself an EBR kit. It's one of those guns I don't think ever seems to go out of fashion. Some modern British 7.62 sexyness.....

  6. Had a very long but enjoyable day at Special Ops' new CQB site. Day started off a bit pooh though with me arriving without my battery bag. So had to rag it home in the car to get back in time for the briefing. I lost track of the number of games we played, but numbers started off with around 20 players. This dropped off significantly at lunch time; then again at 4pm there was only 9, then at 5 ish there were only 4 of us. Game of the day fro me was the VIP games where teams took it in turns to get the drunk VIP from the pub to the car at the opposite end of the building. Lots of close calls and last minute reprieves for both sides to be had. Then we had various rolling retreats, TDMs and "Get to the Choppa" games. Once the numbers were down to single figures we had the pyramid game where each player on a team was given a number; which resulted in said numbers being the rotation of the players in the game. At the start player 1s would be 1v1, then when that player died, they'd get player two for their side and so on. 5th kill was the end. This was a great game as the sides were very evenly balanced with a speedy boi softer on each side, a youngling/first timer, an experienced slower player and someone in the middle. The twist was that the game was played 4 times and they rotated the numbers around so every player got a chance to be 1v1. When it was just the 4 of us left; I was the more experienced, and physically much bigger player. There was a 14 year kid who was tiny, but turned out to be a deadly shot with his Glock which he was using for most of the day. There was an American teenager on his first time and an older teenager who is a regular at the outdoor site. This American dude got a tooth shot out in the morning in a freak incident with his full face mask, but he got back in the game and seemed to enjoy himself. We had a blast of "winner stays on", 2v2, and a fun game where I was a guard patrolling the centre of the game area on a fixed path whilst the remaining younglings had to sneaky sneaky around to get to the bank to retrieve the gold. Little buggers were lucky that when they made a dash for it, one of the marshalls was in the way LOL. Get to the Choppa was an unmitigated disaster for our team as the opposition had Thomas - the notorious Special Ops runner - and twice in a row they won the game in less than a minute with barely a shot fired. In my defence, I nearly got them on their approach, but my pistol mag had decided (unbeknownst to me) vent itself and pulling the trigger resulted in sweet feck all. Due to my size I tended to stick out past walls and couldn't always duck low enough for cover. As a result, I was domed more times than I can remember. I also managed to get a BB up my nose. Which I didn't notice until talking to a player at respawn and it rolled out mid sentence, much to his humour and my surprise. Comedy moment of the day also fell to me as I snuck up behind someone in the Bank and stood there with my pistol pointed at him for a good 20 seconds deciding where to shoot him - which in the end was the back of his helmet. The overseeing marshall and I exchanged a knowing glance. 😎 Its a great venue. I think 30 players is the practical limit before overcrowding and bottlenecking becomes an issue. Ironically as the numbers dwindled the day got more fun. Not because of the players, but Carlos and the marshals adapted the games to match the players. I have never run pistols as much as I had today. The Specna is still having troubles, so I needed up with my Double Eagle as rifle of choice, one of my WE glocks isn't cycling properly; but fortunately I had a spare (of course) and the Boy's TM Glock also served me very well. I managed to get all my mags leak free so was well stocked with 6. Also the Double Eagle was throwing out .2s bang on 349FPS, and won me a few lovely kills, one of which was the 14 year old whose eye level was the same as the partially opened window of the delivery van - I got him from the far end of the building under the tail of the Choppa. The day was certainly better than I expected - as a Woodland player mainly - and getting game play from 10am to 6pm (including a lunch break) was great. Now i am resisting the urge to buy a better pistol and a tracer unit. My face and legs however look like a dot to dot picture, and the guy behind the counter of my local shop wondered what had happened. Hopefully they will go down before the big family Easter Dinner tomorrow LOL.

  14. On the cooker side of things, heard great things about alpkits bru kit, which is a copy of the jet boils and are about £50. I was always a fan of a hot chocolate flavoured protein porridge just before sleep, generally meant there was hot water for a metal bottle with a sock around it to act as a hot water bottle. Anything that helped me get good sleep in the 4-5 hours of rest I'd get was very welcome. Wet clothes were removed, but important clothes I'd have to wear again were generally added to my sleeping bag to dry them out (or at least keep them warm, warm wet clothes were better than freezing wet clothes).

I am offering for sale RFID Domination Timer (DOMINATOR) 2.0. Fully assembled device. It is a stopwatch in the style of a chess clock, which counts the time for which the active team has been on the point. Suitable for a game with 4 teams, can be modified for only 2 teams. Each team player is equipped with an RFID card or an RFID bracelet. RED, GRE, BLU and ORA (Red, Green, Blue and Orange Team) teams are integrated into the game. After attaching the tag to the reader, the player occupies the point and tries to keep it for as long as possible. After casting, time is added to the given team up to a maximum resolution of 99 hours, 59 minutes, 59 seconds. When a team is active on a point, its LED with its affiliation color is also lit. In addition to a member of the other team, the time counter can also be interrupted by the Referee with his card - he pauses the current time until the moment when the card is re-applied to a member of one of the teams, or the Eraser, which also resets all times. I deliver together with 30 RFID cards, while 7 cards are reserved for each team, one each for the Referee and the Eraser. I will send by post prepaid second class. It is possible to use only 2 teams in firmware so 14 cards per each team. The PCB is fitted with all components. The reader, microcontroller, and display can be replaced in the event of a malfunction by simply pulling it out of the pin strip without the need for soldering. Can be powered via a power bank. Power supply via a 9V battery possible after connecting to certain pins (soldering required). The PCB contains 6 mounting holes for the possibility of mounting the DOMINATOR on the wall or in wood. 4 of them use the display, can be replaced with a threaded rod. The device is neither waterproof nor waterproof. Must be operated indoors. The enclosure for the DOMINATOR is not designed. I also supply the .hex file for the microcontroller, so you can upload to the new microcontroller once you change it, but you can also copy it to more devices. So you can create multiple RFID Domination Timers around your Airsoft playground. Each of them will react on the same RFID cards. Firmware is compatible with Arduino Uno, Nano or standalone ATmega328P chip with external 16 MHz oscillator only). I am not sending PCB design, only available for firmware if bought separately. There is a cut-out in the back of the DOMINATOR through which you can access the potentiometer of the display and control its contrast. It is especially useful if the DOMINATOR is operated in the winter or, conversely, in the heat. It is always necessary to make a contrast correction at a given temperature, otherwise the display is unreadable (you will know that state if it is required.). The number of cards and bracelets in the system can be increased in the future, while I will have to create the firmware that will support them. There, the price is already individual. Domination Timer supports RFID cards and wristbands of the ISO/IEC 14443-A standard (MiFare 1K), which work at a frequency of 13.56 MHz. Price does include post fees.

  16. Flightradar24 app? I can’t help but find myself virtually watching flights Especially if I see a vapour trail coming off an aircraft at 40,000 feet I just have to know where it’s going I love knowing the whereabouts of particular aircraft as well, the C17 that was in James Bond Spectre, was used to fly the Queens coffin from Edinburgh to Englandshire Im not a plane spotter, just love the app

  17. I have flight radar 24 and it never fails to amaze me how many aircraft are in the air at any one time. I sometimes just cannot fathom the shear numbers of gas guzzling machines buzzing around our skies. Regarding what Mr Tackle says though the night sky is awesome.iI have a celestial telescope and it's just mind-blowing to look at the moon and near earth planets. I got my son interested and bought him a national geographic telescope five years ago and he has been bitten by the sky bug.He now has thousands of pounds of gear and is into astrophotography. Some of his pictures of galaxies and nebula are amazing.

  19. I think one, of the many, times that I've taken it apart, I've put it back in the wrong way with the bent bits facing backwards so when I dropped it a little heavily on the sling it popped out and my beloved Vera nose dived into the mud!! I couldn't find it in the mud but thought it would be easy to get a replacement! 🤬 All sorted now though, one of our members has a spare that they are going to send. You really do meet the nicest people on here. Well, apart from the ones who ask too much for tat, the ones who can't answer simple question then troll, the ones who want spoon feeding information . . . . .

So you say it's got a newish max hop unit, rubber and new inner barrell. Was the gat working properly before these changes? If the double feeding happened after, then it points to the hop unit. I can't offer any possible remedy but I would start looking there.

  32. I think the 3-in-1 is this sort of stuff... y'know, proper oil from a proper man's garage toolbox. WD-40 is a water-repellent primarily, the fact it's slippery is a bit of a bonus. That's the interesting fact I've gleaned from my time on this forum (so not entirely wasted, amirite?) Ahem. Except (from WD-40's own website)... "Myth: WD-40 Multi-Use Product is not really a lubricant. Fact: While the “W-D” in WD-40 stands for Water Displacement, WD-40 Multi-Use Product is a unique, special blend of lubricants. The product’s formulation also contains anti-corrosion agents and ingredients for penetration, water displacement and soil removal." The other interesting fact I got from t'internet was that it was originally manufactured to prevent rust forming on the outer skin of Atlas ICBM's. So it is (sort-of) rocket science behind it So... not sure where that leaves things. I've got cans of WD-40 and WD-40 Silicone and I've avoided using either of them on any of my toys... so far. I've also got Muc-Off chain lube, both wet and dry varieties - I'm gonna try the dry one on the GBBR bolt first, see how it goes. The plastic slidey-bits will still get silicone grease mixed with silicone oil, which (in my ignorance) I was using on the metal bits. Which probably means they've worn faster than if I'd used oil.

  50. Note that these sales are for the software only. The pictures are examples and they tell you which parts you need to build the devices. The software is sold compiled and any buyer needs to run some scripts in advance to provide the seller with internal codes to enable the software to be compiled to match your hardware. Fair play to the seller, but it’s a small market. A reasonably technical person could build and code their own devices, and there is open source code and demos there for free - the seller is marketing their game modes and device design We build our own, with our tech guy building professional standard ones and me experimenting with less professional ones …… (and ours aren’t for sale, as they are designed around our game modes for our events)
