None of which provides a valid reason for restricting HPA users to a lower power output.3 points -
If you're in the the UK then either get rid of it or never show it to anyone as its illegal. If the vent is not straight through from the breech then its a film prop and can ONLY be owned with a Film/TV Armorer certificate. If the vent is straight from the breech like a normal barrel then its totally illegal and would be treated as a section 5 firearm so VERY bad to own.3 points
-
Depends on what you mean by “displayed here” This is an airsoft forum. Blank firing guns are not relevant. No matter what form of venting If you however are referring to physically ‘displaying’ blank firers in a location in the UK (eg mounting them on a wall display) then UK LEGALLY COMPLIANT blank firers are legal to possess, without legal controls other than common sense (they do not need to be stored in gun cabinets etc) But should not be accessible to minors or in sight from inappropriate locations - hung up on the wall near a window could result in police at the door to investigate Most importantly, forward venting blank firers are not UK legal, and would be treated as a Section 5 firearm. You would need a firearms licence, which is unlikely to be authorised for a blank firer, and would need to be stored in an approved gun cabinet3 points

I suspect that you did not mean that to sound arrogant, but it did.2 points -
I realise they are the site rules. I merely consider them asinine and arbitrary. The world doesn't owe you understanding. When you accuse people of lacking humility when they have taken the time to express their disagreement, you come across as sanctimonious at best. It's curious that when you said my response is "beyond logic", you said absolutely nothing to address my point about liability insurance. What else did you skip reading?2 points

Do you enjoy making yourself appear foolish? A couple of friends and I carried out experiments on joule creep using AEGs, GBBs and HPAs years ago when we were marshalling at a site and HPA was just becoming a thing. Joule creep exists; however, its potential negative effects can be managed through proper chronoing procedures, random in-game checking and developing a culture where HPA users are required to reset and lock their systems if the temperature changes. It seems that you have chosen not to do that, but have chosen to impose an arbitrary rule on HPA users. Why don't you do the same to GBB users? Their guns are also susceptible to joule creep.2 points -

It's honestly incredible how every single teching session steadily goes from theraputic to requiring therapy yourself in the span of around 30 minutes, you'll have 90% of whatever you wanted to do done, get stuck with one tiny thing, get frustrated/order what you needed, and when you're closing your gun back up until said part comes or you can have the patience again something'll go wrong or a spring'll be a cunt and before you know it you're a shivering, sobbing mess losing your mind praying you'll never pick up a hexhead screwdriver ever again2 points -

The Dunning-Kruger effect is strong in you. You really have done an excellent job of ensuring that nobody here will ever play at your site and, if it comes up in conversation, will warn people off. Good luck with your business empire.1 point -

You really are overly sensitive aren't you? I fully understand joule creep; what I do not understand is your bizarre approach of limiting the power output of HPA weapons below that of all others, including GBB. Oh, get over yourself.1 point -
@Sneakyduck I suspect that very long post where you alledgely detail your knowledge of joules/fps vs BB weight etc etc, was actually copied & pasted from another source, but I'll take that as a positive in the hope that you've taken the time to source it, you'll hopefully absorb some of the info & put it in to practice within your empire. As for the rest, I'll wait for someone with a decent reputation within the Airsoft community to give the site a try & hopefully review it afterwards. If your doing things right regards to safety, decent Marshalls etc, then I wish you well, all everyone wants is decent well run gamedays that continue to show Airsoft in a positive light.1 point

Ok so you don’t understand the concept joule creep that’s ok. I’m sorry but your response is beyond logic. You have no understanding of why sites do what they do or are just plain ignorant or as I say again are just looking for an argument. If you can’t be humble enough to take the point and realise these are the site rules then I can’t help you.1 point -
Why should people be willing to let go of misinformation being portrayed as fact? Nobody here has said that joule creep is akin to Bigfoot or the Yeti. The majority of us are aware of joule creep it that is more prevalent in GBB and HPA. The limit imposed on it by your site is still arbitrary, regardless of the narrative that it's in the interest of safety. One can argue it sends a message that marshals are either disinclined to or incapable of doing adequate chrono checks so one can question what else there is a reluctance or incapacity to do in the name of ensuring safety. There's no obvious mention of liability insurance on the website either. I've played at games on hot days where the host openly stated it's possible that GBB and HPA players could find their guns running with more energy by midday because of the higher ambient temperature. He didn't tuck his tail between his legs and say HPA and GBB users had to handicap themselves, he had them retest when day time temperatures peaked and had players adjust their guns and retest a second time if they were found to be hot. Nobody bitched about it and they acted honestly. It's quite the contradiction to point out that GBB and HPA are more subject to joule creep than AEG while only applying a greater cap to HPA. I've got no dog in this fight as I don't own any GBBRs or HPA guns though I disagree with the rationale of imposing the caps in place against HPA users compared to AEG and GBB. Might I suggest that when you try to engage with people, you don't dismiss different points of view as "conspiracy theories"? Sometimes you learn more from those with dissenting views than those in an echo chamber.1 point

I am pointing out that your statements do not validate your approach to HPA; that is not being argumentative. There is neither love nor hate in this discussion; if you think there is hate, you probably need to become somewhat less sensitive.1 point -

How exactly have I not answered the question. Have you read the full thread? All CQB old and young are my market. Everyone is made welcome and everyone gets a good game, whether they are from Stoke or not. That’s a very strange answer seeing as though you are an avid viewer in my discord page. All information is on there and you know it’s not just about Zombies don’t you as you can see the story lines unfold. As you watch and look at the photos and videos you obviously know about all the love and hard work that’s been poured into the site. Why you were only talking to one or our guys saying about you coming down with 3 others. No in actual fact I will be hard at work making sure you’ve had the bast game day ever. Listening to your feedback to make the site even better. You know so that I can open more sites to give you all the game days you deserve, you know that kind of empire.1 point -
Welcome, the likely answer is no, it's a dedicated Airsoft forum & while privately many of us have interests in most associated kit, displaying such stuff, especially section 5 kit, may bring unwanted attention on the forum, as well as Airsoft on the whole, from the "authorities", some of whom may dislike all gun hobbies, especially in an election year😏1 point

How close are you trying to get? Technically the handguard and pistol grip need changing plus the scope and mount are different. If you want to get proper nerdy then you'll need a dimpled 13.7" barrel but nobody seems to be making an airsoft one of those.1 point -

I found that too but still not convinced that its linked to that guy. You're right! Seems he has been involved in the Medical Device supplies industry for awhile, looking at his profile. My assumption is that his UKARA is possibly some kind of failed start-up, especially given the timing (2020!). Maybe he didn't have enough buddies in the Tory party. I might be wrong though, didn't see any real details on the UK Authorised Rep site gave a start-up date. Do you think we can get our RIFs reclassified as medical devices and go through these guys instead?1 point -

Back when I first got into airsoft about 15 years ago, I used to play at a site called Ironfoot Airsoft on a farm in Bude deepest darkest Cornwall, the chap who ran that site also had a store and claimed to be the chap who made/ran the UKARA database. One day in an act of desperation I needed to buy a new gun urgently out of hours as heading off for a game the next day, gave him a call and asked if I could come collect from his store that evening. Had a cuppa in his farm house whilst he looked me up on the almighty UKARA database, which was an excel spreadsheet on his kitchen lovely beige Windows 98 looking tower PC that anyone who went to school in the 90s would recognise. Ironfoot seems to no longer exist, cant find anything on the web about them beyond a few mentions of them in old airsoft forums of ye olde days. No idea what happened to them or the chap running it. He was fairly old back then, may no longer be with us. Looking on google maps at the postcode, I can see the milking barns we used to use as a CQB arena are still there but the farmhouse itself seems to have been demolished.1 point

Fitted a gate aster, new Madbull inner barrel and high torque motor/gears. Need to get one of gates triggers that is more “retro” but this is what they sent me for the time being 😂1 point
