Tell her she don't know what she's talking about, middle aged airsofters are usually in great shape. PS, me at my last skirmish

    A proud moment...

Been working away from home so had a weeks worth of posts & classifieds to hunt through... I haven't spent a penny on airsoft all night.

  4. k9 plumbing supplies sells 24x salvus propane for £122.40. If u add an extra bottle and make it 25 bottles, then enter 'plumb5" as the coupon code, u will be eligible for free shipping. Each bottle is 400g(~700ml) and only cost £4.85. It's worth getting a madbull adaptor and running propane.

  6. So im a big fan of bulpups and for a while I was planning to build a hbar aug but that sort of fell by the wayside and then I ended up selling all my aegs barring a few lmgs and swapped to gbbrs. id still like a gbbr bulpup but as cool as the ghk aug or kwa f90 looks id rather keep using mags I already have as all of my current gbb guns are tokyo marui so I have mws and akm mags and parts spare. So I decided to make my own based on the vhs 2 . Found a reasonably accurate model online which im using as a basis but Im rebuilding it to actually be in the proper component parts as this one is all one solid piece. If all goes well I should be able to drop an mws trigger box and nozzle into it. The bolt is the one part Im a little worried about. i intend to have it running on bearing rollers to remove the usual friction of 3d prints rubbing together but I may need to weight it a little or it will bash itself to death.

  9. I'm not looking for a reason to moan, I'll be honest & say I have no interest in hpa, feels like a step backwards in airsoft when aeg's can easily achieve the required UK power levels & rate of fire commensurate with the real steel models they're copies of. BUT This forum is well known for not only freedom of speech (within reason), at its core are a lot of members commited to keeping the game going, for decades in some cases. it also pushes for a positive sensible stance to all aspects of Airsoft in all it's varieties, & keeping their availability to those who want to play. While that doesn't necessarily correlate with your weirdly biased stance on hpa, it kinda feels like giving hpa users a lower fps might actually encourage some to try to cheat the system, if for example, they're playing your site but they're playing shite, will they blame it on your lower power requirements, & then fiddle with their kit to match, or even scarily surpass those limits. Personally, if I found myself in your position & mindset, I'd be more inclined to exclude hpa entirely if I felt some couldn't be trusted to adhere to the rules. So while you may have felt this is a personal attack, it's more a criticism of the information provided & how it's provided, if that makes sense.

  10. Went to Bespoke today as I was working half an hour away and had underlings to do work whilst I looked important. So I pulled rank and ducked out for a bit with my faulty from new AA G36 GBBR. If you remember the other thread, it is firing a shot at 500 ish fps, then everything subsequent to that just rolls out of the barrel. I bought it from them at the end of last summer, then had trouble getting in touch, and then work/travel commitments made getting to their then Slough based store tricky. Talking to them today, I am willing to grant them the communication issues were down to them preparing for the move. New shop is looking pretty damn impressive. They have a fairly big unit on a small trading estate. I assume a warehouse downstairs, then a large open office upstairs with a new shop area that is going to be quite big too. They answered the buzzer and let me in unannounced. An incredibly polite staff (I think the owner) took my pew, which is now well over 6 months from purchase, listened to the description of the fault and said he'd take it down to his tech whilst I had a look around. I was then given a tour of the new office, shop, firing range, pistol showroom and Air gun showroom. There was not much in stock at the moment as they're still bringing things up from the Slough premises. But they had, amongst other things, the Walther WA2000 along with some very nice looking pistols that I had to fight very hard to resist. I wish I had £780 to spend on a wall hanger. Had a good 30 or so minutes left to my own devices whilst the nice lady behind the counter helped some dude pick out a pew for his daughter, then the guy came back to say that they could see the problem I was having, and would keep the pew for a few days to fix it as they didn't have another in stock, implying to me, that he would have been happy to give me a replacement - so top marks there. They also confirmed that once they're finished setting up, they will be doing all kinds of repairs, upgrades, and customisations in house as well as sales. This should take them another week or two, but i have two or three non essential pews that need attention that no one else seems to be interested in (or that I'd trust), so they'll be heading there once the G36 is proven. Sooo.... If one were to take everything at face value, and assuming they fix my RIF, then I am a happy bunny and they deserve all the success after what must be an eye wateringly expensive investment. Can't blame the shop for a faulty RIF out of the box, but unlike Only Airsoft in Stevenage, where there seems to be an attitude of "warranty is up to them" once you leave the shop, Bespoke seem to just want to keep you happy. Although to be fair to Only Airsoft, they have honoured the warranty when required - it's just the perception that they give off that is unnecessary. Certainly can't fault Bespoke for care and attention so far! Standby for updates.

One thing to note immediately - those lenses can't even be used. The OEM is a dubious copy of an already dubious chinese OEM, but they're pumping out stuff that isn't impact rated. The original by Wosport(?) was only able to withstand about 0.8J at 1metre back when they were first introduced in 2017.

Looks good, but as has been said, lotta money for something that might be a safety liability primarily, & lots of other issues that may not be immediately apparent. Even if everything about was up to the job, you might absolutely hate playing in it, bit like a biker riding in a Simpson Bandit helmet for the first time, talk about tunnel vision, enough to trigger a migraine. Only thing I'd suggest is if anyone has anything similar at the sites you attend, ask them if you can borrow it for a game, at least then you'll know that kinda set up is viable for you.

  26. Received my LCT B10M today. I was hesitant to "modernise" my 74 but I'm glad I did. I had to modify the rail to fit my Specna (Sanded down the lip that goes into the handguard retention). The 5KU stock adapter is awful and wobbles like crazy but I got it for free so I can't complain 😂

  29. My main ride (W650) complete with son. Note ex-girlfriends lace sided leather loon pants. I used to wear them until I stopped training martial arts for a couple of years and got bloody fat! Bike has been dynojetted, airbox cut and pipes debaffled then dyno'd for perfect mixture. Turned an 85mph constipated slug into a ton plus snorting beasty. Crap pic of my Guzzi. Same Tonti frame as the LeMans. Frame of a sportsbike, engine that's agricultural folk art. Wanted one ever since I rode a friends new one back in the mid 90s. Mrs TPH likes this one. With a little bit of help from a bloody great iron bar it sounds like a Lancaster bomber. It makes hum the CHiPs theme tune as you ride it. Old pic of my XS 'Zig-Zag Wanderer' after the Beefheart song. I'd bought some 7/8" ss tube to make handlebars with, but booze said, 'Nah, you need a sissy bar.' Still have it. It now has open shotgun pipes and is Daytona yellow. My bike for hot dry days. 0-100 in 7.2... My Dad bought this for himself for his 70th. He has something more sedate now - Honda 750 Hornet. I've a few more in bits and the lad already has four including a GSX250R. I think they breed in the garage tbh. Looking to buy an Enfield to chop. I want another hardtail. Looking at an 883 on Saturday. It's A2 license friendly and #1 son can slow down a bit and have something comfy for his girlfriend to sit on. I'll not put the patched up pics online, but bikes have been a massive part of my life for years. Despatch rider for a while, lived in a shared house with clubmates. Still get together once a month to scare polite society.

  30. So the original nozzle in pla+ lasted consistently for around 800 shots before the loading tab snapped. While im fine with swapping my nozzle out after a game day while im maintaining it I cant really sell it without some better longevity. Here is version 3. It has a seperate loading tab printed lengthways which increases the strength a lot. It is quite heavily reinforced now so it wont take the little faux bolt head the original had but Thats not a big loss. Now to test it and see how long it lasts

  32. That makes my wee 20 mile round trip to Airsoft World to pick up a flash hider for my ghm9 and a new speed loader feel a bit underwhelming 😂 It’s surprising just how different their available kit is over in the far east, not to mention the prices! Nice haul, I trust you will be visiting more stores whilst over there?

  33. Annual holiday to Japan, popped into First in Osaka. picked up some TBB’s for the Mp5’s and a 416 for half the UK RRP. Also grabbed a couple of mags for the GGO Am45 before they go out of print fully. Then at the checkout, spotted a couple of these bargain bin for the eye watering price of… £40 for an upper and lower. Got a Colt and a Stoner lower set.

  41. If you are lucky enough to have a discount place near you (bicester village, gunwharf quays etc) its worth checking. Just nabbed a pair of under armour valsetz boots for £36 bnib. I admit I was lucky that they had my size in but I have seen Valetz in the gunwharf for well under retail occasionally.

  45. Allegedly The owner used to run a site that had a genuinely serious asbestos problem. A mate who's a very senior asbestos consultant pointed that out during a game day, was told there was no asbestos in the building and he didn't know what he was talking about. Theres asbestos at almost every indoor site, most of it dealt with properly. This stuff was especially bad. Anyway, site gets shut down by HSE (he didn't report it) and a prohibition notice served. Site is then sold on with the prohibition in place, unbeknown to them. New owners very nearly get shafted. The shop is situated in my local town centre and sell swords to dust heads. I've visited twice, and seen one of these happen. It was a less than 40 quid katana type blade and I wouldn't have sold the guy a water pistol. The shops got very little responsibility imo when it comes to a town centre with some problems. They've got a scheme to bypass the playing 3 times in no less than 2 months, and their stuff is overpriced. Sort of feels like honest John's used cars. I'd have to clarify further as it was years ago but another friend allegedly had to take out a CCJ against him or his business partner.

  46. US brew kit. 1) 2 quart canteen. 2) “NBC” drinking cap usually on one of the 1 quart canteens. 3) 1 quart canteen, there is a soft bodied version. 4) Cup and nested “natick” stove. The stove is just the ww2 one reissued so they could heat drinks that came in MRE’s. The M1910 mug (L shaped handle) is will work as well. That style was preferred by some. 5) After market lid. Bend the edges to get a better fit. Or use aluminium foil. 6) After market Foldacup. Compact way to increase field cooking options and a bit better to drink from than the metal mug. Not shown: Hydration cap - Cap with flexible tube turns 2 quart or soft canteen into a hydration system. Spork - comes in the MRE. But plenty of civi ones around. Aluminium/Tin foil hat - light weight lid for mug and a bit to stand trioxane/hexamine/alcohol/c4 block on. There is a second model of stove that the USMC (and maybe others) got for Desert Storm. It nests too and has a top grill which supports the mug rather than jam onto it. It was pretty common to modify the natick stove with wire to make a better pot stand/act as a grill The stove set up is okay. Servicemen often bought copies to turn in so they could keep the originals. My personal opinion is it’s not the greatest wood burner and honestly the British cooker or BCB one is just a better stand from the get go. Essentially it works, pretty unbreakable and is very light. Airsoftised ALICE deuce gear. Y-harness with pace beads and compass/dressing pouch on the shoulder. Often the pouch is inverted. Large “LC3” belt (actually IIFS kit) plus belt pad it cut from kip mat and tied in with paracord. RHS: 1 quart canteen carrier; M12 holster; Small arms magazine pouch (copy); aftermarket compass pouch. LHS: Dump pouch is in the spot where the e-tool carrier or additional canteen carrier would go. Empty canteen carriers were sometimes used as dump pouches. 2 x small arms magazine pouches (copies).
