There may have been a few posts before about this, but a few things have changed recently so I thought I’d have a a bit of a moan and justify it at the same time . Posting Rifles (between 2kg and 20kg) total weight Many have got away with posting Airsoft guns using a variety of services and couriers - but please be certain they have “got away” with it The only Uk mail service that will knowingly ship Airsoft guns for private customers who do not have a special terms account is the Royal Mail Group (this includes Parcel Force). As long as the package is less than 150cm long and under 20kg they will ship. Most RIFs can be shipped for under £10 (cue my first moan ….. sellers charging £15- to as much as £30 I’ve seen today) for postage for a RIF). If you don’t want to post say that in the add, it’s fine, but don’t charge £30 for postage that will cost £9. Enhanced Compensation RM groups enhanced comp does not cover Airsoft Guns, BUT it does cover accessories shipped with the RIF, If you want to cover the full cost and pay the high cost of extra insurance, you have to be a bit smart. list accessories separately and make you you keep separate valuations in the unlikely event of a parcel force loss - get retail valuation on extra mags, optics, foregrips, suppressors etc, it soon all adds up? however my experience and it is extensive over 200 RIFs now shipped - 3 damaged in transit, no losses, 1 incoming seized by Rm and destroyed, 1 sent seized and destroyed by RM. DANGEROUS GOODS RULES Pistols, GBBRS and HPA- are all potentially caught by the DG in transit rules - with RM group what you have to do is properly vent all pressure vessels (gas mags) and either remove or wedge open the release valve. The easiest way to do this is using a small tight roll of cardboard held in place one the release valve button. Never leave a mag in guns, RM claim they won’t examine a gun with a mag fitted and it is automatically destroyed. I always pack mags outside the pistol box. For ease of examination for pistol packages under 2kg you can use RM 1st class. COURIERS all couriers have different “prohibited” items lists, but all of the Uk couriers specify “firearms” in their list of prohibited items. Please don’t try and be clever with couriers and claim that an Airsoft gun is not a Firearm. The fact is it’s not a firearm under Uk law, but it is a firearm under most (if not all) courier small print definition - the6 don’t have to recognise the legal definition and some have now amended their prohibited list to actually make it clear that a firearm includes anything that looks like a firearm. KIT AND ACCESSORIES The best postage option just now for all kit and accessories is by far the RM Tracked 24/48 service. Tracked 48 is currently £2.85 booked online and that’s including £100 comp cover and free collection from home - you can’t beat that, and it’s a service that is prioritised during industrial action. Cue next moan…..people charging £5-£10 to post a £30 optic…… or a JPC because it’s bulky….lol PACKAGING when posting RIFs please beware there are minimum standards of packaging rules. If you don’t follow them, you lose your right to claim in the event of damage. Use a minimu of a stiff cardboard box, the original retail box should almost always be sufficient but take extra care when retailers use flimsy boxes. Plea to bubble wrap, vinyl foam wrap (like the stuff new tvs are in) even crushed newspaper helps. Take pictures of your packing layers - you will need them in the event of a claim. And always wrap external layer with something waterproof. Bin bags are cheap and good enough. If you ship a lot of stuff, pallet wrap Is the way forward cheap and makes external wrapping piece of cake. finally - always keep your proof of posting ! Without it you have no claim. Happy to answer any questions, there is not much I haven’t come across in terms of shipping problems, claims, losses, dangerous goods seizures. long post I know, but it’s important stuff to know - and looking at adverts clearly many have no idea (or they are at it…lol) happy new year 2023 Paul1 point

Suggestions for a disabled (would-be) new player
Joe_Swanson reacted to Enid_Puceflange for a topic
Hi Joe, Quite a difficult question to answer Id suggest visiting a site and playing a days play renting equipment to firstly see how you get on. Ive had days just marshalling when I get home absolutely shattered and have walked 8 miles , in woodland, up steep hills, crossing rivers - without running like the players do. I have sciatica , which can give me quite a bit of grief after a day out in the woods (absolutely nothing compared to yourself I guess) But what I’m trying to say it that it can be quite a bit of a demand on the body. Wear decent boots, and let the marshals and site operator know of your condition and that you may (would you) need a hand at some points ? There are a few videos of players stateside and here in the uk of chaps who are full time in a motorised wheelchair and they seem to have a blast, with some assistance. Best to try it out and see how you get on, it is more demanding than a “walk in the park” but a tremendous rush and a great laugh If you do decide to invest in equipment, go lightweight with a polymer rif (cos you will be carrying it all day) and hi-cap mags (3 would more than likely last you a game or two) without the need for carrying more. Sniping can be lightweight, but a bit of a challenge on your patience , waiting for 20 mins to get that 1 shot 😂1 point -
The 'What have you just bought' Thread

Today was like a second Christmas. Salomon x ultra 4 GTX - literally baby shit colour. Now discontinued Montane tactical terra pants. Unobtanium gear custom SLEDs placard with spiritus back straps. This thing is awesome, best placard I’ve used for MWS mags. Must admit, tried on my full Multicam kit…felt like a right nobber, might go back to a more casual look. 😂1 point -

Thanks for the reply, I looked and it would be a bit expensive to buy, almost the cost of a RIF. Guess I will have to save my pennies. I had no idea what the issue was, the SD card was empty but it said the card was full, swapped out the SD card and it recorded fine. The main reason I want a camera is to show game play and also help with game strategy, you learn alot from watching your previous game, especially who the cheaters are!!!1 point

JG T3-K3 (G3) as a DMR Base
John_W reacted to Enid_Puceflange for a topic
I had one and fielded it for over a year before I got bored (it happens easily with me 😂) It is mostly plastic / abs and nice and light weight The only thing I did to mine when it arrived was downgrade the spring as it was close to 400fps on arrival & wire to deans Mid caps are hard to find, hi caps are metal and cheap 👍 I must be pretty light handed with my stuff, as I never managed to break anything on it. The stock mounted rear sling point obviously isn’t up to the job it’s supposed to do. But, as a lightweight DMR , I recon it’s perfect. A lot less creaky than the TM version! Pop a claw mount on the top, fit an optic, lock to semi and yer off! I loved mine! Yes, I never did remove the “HopUp” dangler on the front It made other players diss me thinking I was a noob 😉1 point -

I used a runcam 3 on a drone I used to own. No complaints about it from me but I've never owned a gopro so I can't tell you if it was better or worse. YouTube says not as good but decent for the money. I was happy with the footage and the camera took many crashes in its stride and kept working.1 point

Action Camera

There is a reason that gopro have such a hold on action camera market. They are good, simply put and have set the consumer standard for years. I don't use mine for airsoft but have used and abused it with flight footage, and track days where it has been crashed and taken it all.1 point -
Action Camera

I've been through a few of the cheaper ones, from Apeman and most of the way thorugh the Amazon reccommended range. Honestly, the GoPro Hero 8 is the best camera I've bought, use and continue to sing the praise of. The picture is unparralleled. Also, I know you say 1080 is "good enough" - it's not. If you aren't 100% outdoor in the bright, if you want 1080p final footage then record in 1440p at least. It helps a lot with darker shots due to the noise/filling the cameras do. I told myself for a long time the cheaper camera was "just as good" then there was a noticable image quality difference in my output files.1 point -
I like it. I am no where near a fan boy but I have just ordered a plate carrier and hydration in the new pattern. I have been looking at getting a plate carrier but wanted something that didn’t make me sweat like a fat bloke in a cake shop. Loved the features they have on theirs and for the price I thought why not. Now I know if I had looked around I could have found the original design that they ripped off but do I want to spend that time doing that? I don’t understand the hatred that people have towards him. I understand that he takes designs or features from other kit etc and creates his version but doesn’t every company do that. Even Supermarket’s look at their competitors and copy what they are doing to stay competitive etc. no one moans about Sainsburys stocking what Lidl has? Or that Ford now has a feature in their Car that Mercedes invented. Like I say, I am not a fanboy, this is the first thing I have ever bought from his site but as I see it, his videos are not the ‘Cheater implodes’ crap (although he did do some in the past but I think his friend Silo put a stop to that). He has built a platform to promote his products which is good marketing and he brings people into our sport which makes it better for us in the long run. Looking forwards to getting my plate carrier and replacing my creaking battle belt and yoke. 6 gas mags, pyro and a radio are starting to show its limitations…1 point

Played last game of the year at usual site. Not impressed. Cheaters Galore and some dirty play. there were 4 players that never took their hits but continued to shoot and two or maybe three specifically targeting hands. Why you may wonder, simple, targeting hands means the person is less effective at shooting back and I have a minor fracture of my index finger on my right hand as a result. I overheard some *anker gloating about taking groin shots... Yeah I know, I got plenty of BB Bruises on the top of my legs. *issed off about it that much that I left the game and I expect thats why several others left the game because of dirty play and cheaters. Then there was the overkill, despite calling out hit and signalling being hit, still got lit up, seems that some people don't look and see if the player is out or in the game and just shoot. I noted that the majority of cheaters were HPA users. For a game that uses the honour system, it sure tells people alot about you as an individual if you ignore the rules. Think that the lesson is lost on these sorts. Another trend I have seen are groups within a team, that when they get hit, only one goes back to tag in themselves and team mates as their teammates stay in the game and continue game play. Even my lad who enjoys the sessions was *issed off, he never throws his guns and eyepro on the table but that game... What this sport needs is a full membership system that is linked across the country, a ban on one site is a ban on all sites. Clear out the trash and *sshole gamers.0 points
