    Airsoft Sites!

It's a toss up whether the marshals will be able to cope with that, let alone the players.

@Gigy Beast did you not feel you could speak to the staff/boss about your "issues", some are approachable & may welcome constructive criticism/feedback if it helps to improve the gaming experience, & they in turn may have enlightened you regarding why some parts of the site are not in use ?. Personally I've always found it to be proactive to do this, what's the worst they could say "feck off & don't come back", which would also be very informative as to their attitude & how hard you thrash the shit out of them on every online platform available 😏

    Airsoft Sites!

Okay thanks for the reply's. I am just gonna say, I am not throwing a tantrum or anything like that, Its more of a question to see what you guys think to sites gameplay. I have been to probably 8 different airsoft sites and really only come across 1 or 2 that really utilise all of the facilities they have and have really cool and intuitive gameplay, multi game objectives etc etc.... I think maybe my rant might have lost its context but I am sure we have all been through it when you come away from a days airsofting thinking, meh that could have been better and come away at the end of the day going, that was awesome....I wanna find more of those sites. So they run a fairly simply medic rule, to every 5 or 10 players there will be a medic, which has different coloured tape on their arms along with the tape of their team. So to get back into the game, you have a 60 second bleed out time before you can walk back to spawn or wait till a medic gets to you, they tend to give the medics out to guys who are familiar with the site and by doing this guys who are new to the site tend to stick with guys that know the site and it works really really well, breaks down barriers of getting the team to work well together and creates groups of guys who have comms who can communicate with other groups, I know its a simple rule and I am sure it has its downsides but the few times I have been to the site the rule just makes the day run amazingly well. The site that adopts this game has a very large site and tends to attract a lot of players, they run a game on the first Saturday of each month and run multi objective games that last some time, tends to be first game is a couple of hours, the 2 long games in the afternoon.

At My site, Finmere, they will change game tactics if something isn’t working. It’s all try it and see. We will frequently give any critique to the organisers if something simply does not work and it helps to improve the games the following month.

  6. Nothing is particularly close with only A road access. Inverness is your quickest journey at 2 hours. it's slightly quicker to go to a Glasgow site rather than Dundee but that's 2.5 hour drive compared to a 2.75 hour drive.

  7. Easy answer: - Yes, you can cover a longer inner barrel with a mock silencer. As the E25 is a short barrelled gun, adding a little extra length to the barrel may add extra FPS anyway as the stock gearbox cylinder is probably over-volumed for the barrel - manufacturers don't tend to match them properly on cheaper mass-produced guns. - If you still don't have the FPS you desire The Specna Orion gearbox has QD spring removal, so I would pick a couple different springs from @ak2m4 and test them out over a chrono. Once you unscrew the buffer tube, spring changes take seconds. Harder answer: - I would change all the o-rings and check for a perfect compression parts air seal. This requires a complete disassembly of the Gearbox and then bye bye warranty if that concerns you. But this will give you 'free' FPS in that there is no additional strain to the Gearbox (shell and gears etc.), unlike just throwing in a beefier spring. Absolutely not recommended if this is you first/only gun and you don't have a backup gun or two in case you screw up the disassembly/reassembly - A good Hop Unit/Hop Rubber/Nub combo will yield better results than just throwing extra FPS at the gun. There is no perfect combination, but a Maple Leaf Macaron, Omega (style) nub and ZCI Rotary hop up is a fairly common, but cost effective, recommendation by many. - 300 to 350 FPS is not as big a difference as you think, see my previous point. Stock Tokyo Marui guns shoot sub-300FPS, but they seem to perform just fine. The BBs just take a bit longer to reach the target.

  9. Maybe not the answer you were looking for but whatever. I played a game at Camp Sparta, but hosted by Brit Tac. One of the best day's airsofting I ever had. They have a 10 hour "battlesim" coming up next month which may be worth investigating: https://www.brittacevents.com/event-details/op-red-wings-10-hour-event-camp-sparta You get to play at Camp Sparta (which is absolutely amazing) and I can vouch for the great day Brit Tac put on. You also get a longer day, which takes the sting out of a longer drive (3hrs in my case) I can't vouch for how Camp Sparta actually run things. Though I have to disagree with the comments made above about smoke inside buildings (I thought it was cool) and people using respirators (fair play, i also consider this to be cool). "don't be a dick" is a nice enough thing to say but not actually a very useful one as clearly people have different ideas about what constitutes being a dick. Hence why its good to have unambiguous rules. In this case, the rules unambiguously allow the use of smokes indoors. So bring your smokes. Bring a respirator if you have one too

What’s the medic rule that they run? **** up front declaration - I occasionally run events and I collect rule sets so that I can see what I fancy trying or modifying Elimination, respawn and medic rules can make or break a game/mission format By zombie type game are you referring to zombie experience full days, zombie missions or magic respawn trees?

  14. Funny old day today. Went for our usual run around Tuddenham for Filmsim, which is my favourite type of game tbh. We were assigned a chap who I have milsimed with in the past at cold war games. He certainly knew his stuff, and set out a clear game plan and assigned people tasks if they wished. The game was fairly simple and based on some console game I think. At least the kids all knew what the teams were supposed to be about any how. The standard of gameplay was brilliant, the scenarios well briefed, the marshalling was excellent (what little was required) and bar someone with the mother of plate carriers being truly oblivious to being hit, there were no problems at all. I loved sneaking through the scrub and finding the enemy, got some hilariously lucky shots through bushes and got some good long range shots walking the M4 in like a mortar. Having a contact lens fall out as I ran full pelt (lumbered quickish might be more accurate...) was weird. My shooting was well off with one eye seriously short sighted. What was strange was the lack of aggression on our team. Breakthroughs were unexploited, pushes fizzled out and a few times the three or four players that did push up were friendly fired. It didn't dampen the day for us at all, but I expect that it may have done if someone were ultra competitive. Odd as the onsite team were full of energy and the other side really enthused. Really glad I went despite the crap weather. Don't think I've ever had a bad day here tbh.

  15. I’ll spare the full run down unless someone actually wants it, but I officially think I’m ‘there’ in terms of my ideal kit. Took a lot of trial and error to get there, but extremely happy with where it’s ended up. Swapping between AK and AR is a simple case of changing placard on the chest rig.

  16. After seeing a discussion on another thread I had the idea for a thread dedicated to those of us who want to lose weight, get physically fitter or just generally live healthier. Whether you're getting fit for airsoft, using airsoft as a way to improve your health or you're already fit and want to help and encourage others, you're all welcome to give advice or ask questions. I will say though, try to avoid promoting things like keto diets and intensive CrossFit type things just because they aren't for everyone and aren't always healthy as an entry level or more casual non-athlete.

  21. My understanding is that EU sellers can charge VAT and duty at source, and have to do it for anything under £135. It's just that for reasons best known to themselves, aren't bothering. AliExpress sellers don't seem to have any problems with it - or at least with claiming that they're doing it, which isn't necessarily the same thing.

  23. Firstly - welcome 1) Tan does not count as two tone. Bright colours (such as red, green, yellow, blue etc) are required for IFs (Imitation Firearms). Basically, it has to be a bright, unrealistic colour, and Tan is not that. 2) It's not a license - it's a defence. If you spray a two-tone gun black, you are manufacturing a RIF (Realistic Imitation Firearm), for which you need said defence to do so. Scroll down in this very forum section and you will see that this has all been answered many times over.

  24. Some quick-ish answers: 1 - A lot of suppressors are just filled with foam or just empty inside. I've only owned a couple myself, and an inner barrel was no problem but there are so many on the market, it's impossible to say what will or won't work. I would say that most suppressors will be fine, but I'm sure there's a few outliers. There are loads of styles, designs and different coloured Silencers on Aliexpress - some are very cheap (under £10) so no great loss if they don't work, but don't forget that they add VAT and duty later in the basket. 2 - No, ~M100-110 is pretty much the UK standard for sub-350FPS full auto AEGS. There are a huge amount of variables to this so I would grab an M100, M105 and maybe an M110 spring and test them over a chrono if you are only looking to change the spring at the moment. I think my Specna had an M95 alternative spring in the box, which is probably what the UK retailer fitted to the gun before flogging it to you. 3 - Does your gun work as-is? If yes, don't open it. Seriously, don't. Not until you have at least 1 spare gun to fall back on. Better yet, buy a cheapo sub-£100 Specna Core as a backup, and learn to tech on that first. Whilst teching guns is not a 'dark art', it's easy to screw it up, and there's nothing worse that not being to play Airsoft as your gun is in bits in a box because you can't get the thing working right again. 4 - Theory: Yes. Real world: Not always. I have several hop units in a spares box that *should* work on any M4, but don't. The Specna is fairly generic though, so you shouldn't have too many troubles, but there are times where a set of files and/or a Dremel might be required. In fact, the Specna has a Rotary hop unit already, I would replace this as the lesser priority and concentrate on the hop rubber/nub instead. The stock brass barrel is also fine, and you can polish them up quite well internally.

  29. Um..ok... Meanwhile - In other news: Now printing it 'properly' at 100% infill, with a channel for a 5mm steel rod to be glued within it. Each half will take 14 hours to print and the whole thing will be 3D printed (two sides and the butt pad as a separate print) with the stock 'fixed' in position. I'll be hitting it with filler primer and sanding it to smooth out the layer lines, then spray it with matte black paint. If anyone has any ideas on how to try replicate that 'moulded plastic roughness' surface finish that you get on polymer bodied guns, it would be much appreciated. They look very cool. I'll be interested to hear how they perform.

I'm so accustomed to doing it that I just do it anywhere, out and about, walking streets, going the shops, etc, it's kind of surreal sometimes because you can get a kind of dissociation and start seeing everything from a birds eye / third person perspective, it's wild. I think my gf is trying to lose weight so that I /will/ marry her.

  34. This. About 7 or 8 years ago I dropped a TM TN57 mag in the woodland bit of anzio camp in leek. Not even a woodland site ry but there is some bushes and foliage. I saw it bounce off a mound of dirt and fly in to the hedgerow. Fast forward 2 years and I heard a Marshall say he found a large gbb mag in the hedges. I asked him if it had my initials and a number on it and low and behold, it was my mag! Couldn't beleive my luck. Over time the gas had leaked and it was very muddy but after a little clean up, I got it working again.

  35. Just found this thread last night, so i will share my most recent experience from last weekend, attending one of my regular sites, RIFT Redcon 2. arrived on site in good time, signed in etc then moved through to the on site shops.. Only airsoft to collect some bits i ordered on friday and asked to be brought to site as i wouldnt get to their shop in stevenage before game day, then RIFTs own on site shop to buy smoke grenades and co2 capsules. Went back to my car to get loaded up ready for chrono while chatting to some friends... heres where things went wonky... Attached my HPA tank to my Osprey vest, and one of the poppers on a strap btoke off, fortunately threading it through the MOLLE and using a small cable tie i found in my car held it for the day, but i need a new carry pouch. moved onto my MOSCARTS... filled them from a CO2 fist device... all but 2 leaking like sieves. Nothing i can do onsite, but pray the others dont start leaking. Got my rifle mags and one pistol mag loaded and went to chrono before the main rush, passed chrono, but the pistol mag started leaking slightly from outlet. Back to car and no amount of fiddling would stop the leak, and i realised i had left valve key at home... no issue, i will just run 3 pistol mags instead of 4... went to gas the other mags... all leaking.. FUCK Ran back to onlyairsoft, praying they had mags, they only had 2 green gas and one CO2 Raven hicapa mags... no choice, i bought them then ran back to the car to load them before running back for the briefing and team armbands. I was pleasantly surprised to be issued not only a team armband, but also a medic armband... not seen the medic rule before at RIFT due to the pandemic, but this would be a lifesaver on the 70 acre site. Game rules: total war all day, swapping sides after lunch. One team had objective of recovering "flight recorders" to HQ, while other team had to find numbered poles and connect them at their HQ to make radio aerials. Locations of teams objectives marked on a map at their main spawn, plus 4 capturable forward respawn points. Morning game, not much to report, got a few kills, got killed a lot more but the medic rule helped keep me in the fight a bit longer. Helped capture one forward respawn. Attacking a group of containers (one of which held a pole the enemy needed) We came under fire from enemies hidden in the bushes. Popped a smoke and charged one of 3 gaps in the bushes that the enemy were firing through, got a trade off kill on one of the enemy. Respawned (as had alredy used my medic life) and returned. Identified where one ARP user was shooting from and popped a TAG AFG6 grenade into the bushes... 2 enemy KIA. Team mate behind me pissing himself laughing. Initially he thought the grenade had gone off as i threw it, but was just the igniter as the spoon flew off. Next thing.. BOOM followed by one of the enemy players shouting "WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?!? HITTT!!" team mate then asked me where he could buy the grenades from. Break for lunch, i didnt buy food on site, just a cup of tea to refresh while reloading. Also took my tippmann to the range to adjust the hop. After lunch, quick briefing and raffle from only airsoft (didnt win, gutted as prize was a TM M870 Gas shotgun) and off to respawn. Afternoon had proceeded well, team captured all 6 poles (though one seemed to go missing on its way to our HQ, so we only ended up with 5 =/ ) I normally play on my own, floating around the site and supporting any firefights i come across, while also trying to sneak behind enemy lines to harrass them.. but as the afternoon wore on i hooked up with several other lone wolves, and ended up part of a 6 man squad. Then it happened, i encountered a cheater... As a squad we moved across the land, securing a forward respawn, confirming one of our objectives (pole) had been captured and then seen that 3 of our team mates had captured the enemy HQ, making their score zero as long as they held the HQ to ENDEX. We then moved towards the "container yard" to check if the pole there had been captured yet. As we approached there was heavy fire coming from a container on top of the hill down towards the 3 lower containers that our team was trying to assault. With the enemy focussed on our team mates the squad split up, with me moving towards the upper container, one squad member trying to move around to flank the container (but got trade off kill with enemy coming out of the woodland before he was in position) and the other 4 trying to sneak into the container yard from the opposite side to the rest of our team. I approached the upper container, drawing my pistol, and saw 2 enemies with their backs to me through the window cut into the container. A third entered the container through the container doors and i saw him pause to look at me, trying to work out if i was friendly or not. No choice but to shoot him, then his team mates before they could react. Enemy that saw me took his hit, as did enemy 3, but enemy 2 decided to tuck himself into a corner, but his leg was still exposed.. i shot him again and he moved his leg. I asked him if he was going to take his hit, and he started gesturing to another enemy in the back of the container i couldnt see. I shot him in the hand, as evidenced by him shaking it in pain... still no hit call. I shifted angle slightly so that his pouches and stomach were exposed and i shot 4 times, seeing the flaps of his pouches moving, at least one hit the side of his stomach. Still no hit call. Then he shouts "NOW" and bomb-bursts out the container doors to shoot at me full auto while his team mate popped forward into the window to shoot me. I ignored cheater and tried to get his team mate, but was too slow and taken out. Cue cheater then shouting at me to stop cheating and take my hits, at which point i asked him when he intended to take the 6 or 7 hits i landed on him. He tried denying i hit him but eventually relented when one of the other enemies i had shot (and loitered in the container to avoid getting hit again) backed me up, and so he sloped off to respawn. As i headed to my respawn i had a word with one of the marshals about cheater, and was told that i was the second person to complain about him and they would be dealt with. I dont know the outcome of that, but i didnt notice him again (not really surprising on a large site) After respawn i went back to the container yard to find my team had pushed the enemy back, so i checked for the pole to find it had been taken already. By this point a large group of enemy had respawned and were advancing on the containers. I was pinned where i was and couldnt leave without being hit, so i decided to try and get as many enemy at range as i could. Got 3, possibly 4 at range, but then enemies got into the containers. Dropping to pistol i got 2, a third rushed the container i was in but his shot missed me by milimetres (heard it whizz past my ear) enemy 4 got into a neighboring container and tried to get a shot on me from his window through the door of my container, managed to get a snap shot which i thought had missed as i didnt hear a hit call but he pulled back. Enemy 5 tried rushing to post a grenade, but got shot before they could throw. After a pause, another enemy threw a smoke grenade into the container then tried to medic enemy 5.. he didnt make it. Next thing i hear a voice shout "do you want to surrender? Or are we coming in there to get you?" I shouted back "you are welcome to try" just as a BFG got thrown in through the door. Came out with hand raised to see 10 enemies with their guns all pointed at the door. We all fist bumped and commented "well played" before i headed to respawn. Enemy 4 had reappeared by this point and confirmed that i had indeed got a headshot on him. I apologised for headshot and shook his hand but he was cool with it. Respawned and headed to defend our hq for the last 15 mins of the game. End of the day and im packing my kit away, thinking to myself that it was a good day, despite the gear malfunctions and the cheater incident, only to then realise that at some point, i had lost my Runcam Scopecam somewhere on the land... Overall a good day, but severely annoyed at losing the runcam =/

  36. I duno about CQB being the best I do enjoy it a lot especally compared to my day at section 8 crawling past tree after tree but I had a really good time up at Fife War Games a mix of buildings and outdoors and the game modes were just simple and fun something the depot seem the struggle with. A simple zombie mode made some extremely tense shoot outs and when I was the zombie I just walked in to a hail of bbs to force the survivors to change position instead of camping. Felt pretty cool to just tank bbs and 20 seconds later continue walking like nothing had happened no wonder people cheat so much. Revenge for your endless BFG usage. Looking forward to more carnage to come soon.

nope, any gear i have is either in the car or on my person. sure if you drop mags left right and centre like your an extra in john wick and throw bfg's round every corner you're gonna lost/have pinched gear eventually. recall once stumbling across a gbb vector mag in a building once, picked it up cos i figured it was the only way to be sure some thieving bugger didn't. you've never seen such a look of relief as its owner when he found me after the game.

No, all I've done is take pictures of the serial numbers on my belt-full of BFGs. Even at that, I think it's vastly unlikely that I'd be lucky enough to catch a pikey who's pocketed one, given that sites seem to - at most - just shrug and say "Oh dear, we'll make an announcement at the next briefing". I've yet to see or hear of one locking the place down and frisking folk, which is what it would take. And from a liability and duty of care point of view, they're smarter to not get involved. I guess this gets back to my Default Rant #3, that airsoft is a delicious punch bowl spoiled by a very few turds bobbing around in it. If sites were a bit more proactive about punting wrong-uns right out of the hobby, it would be better for us and for them.

Max range about 85m (not accurate range for you haters). Im happy. Still need to sort out the two side pins behind the magwell, look into adding a grip of some sort if needed, and toss a light on it.

Either this or a Marui MWS in a 416 conversion kit (https://www.haoptwart.com/product-page/hao-s-416-cag-conversion-kit-for-marui-mws) Both will set you back about £1500, but are probably the best you can get from either a gas or AEG platform. Otherwise the Marui 416 NGRS is a good platform for around the £500 mark.
