  1. Is camo not pretty useless in airsoft anyway? No offence here but it's pretty sad pulling someone up about mixing. He might be like me and picks camo based on the pretty colours and how it compliment my figure.

Go to your local site, Rent your gear and play. It really is that simple.

    mm.. yeah, but isn't a 1911. You wouldn't label a Glock 19 a Glock 17.

    Hi from maidenhead

Better off going to a site, renting some gear and playing to see if you even like the hobby. Get a feel for it first and then if you do decide you want to take it up then you will have more of an idea how you want to play. I here a lot of people saying that " I could save a load of money by buying rather than renting" which is true to a certain extent but you dont save that much. For example Buy your own Gun: £117 (G&G CM) Walk on Fee: £15 Bottle Of BB's: £10 Cheap tac vest for mags etc: £25 Mesh goggles or mask: £15 Renting: £30 Most places will give you BB's and an extra mag and face protection, so your good to go

Same gun and yes its plastic slide (and frame afaik) with some metal parts. Its Marui so will be very good quality, reliable, and excellent accuracy. The plastic slide will give fast cycle time and better cold weather operation than a metal slide, so its advantages outweigh the nicer feel of a metal one to be honest. Metal upgraded slides are probably available anyway if you can't live with it. The only slight disadvantage is the magazines (1911 type) are narrow so don't hold as much gas as say a Glock or M9 and some have found it won't empty a full mag in cold weather. I have the standard Marui 1911 and its my go to pistol. You won't go wrong with a Marui pistol.

  12. Well if it's a private conversation don't use a public forum bud. I was simply pointing out that what you said is pretty sad and as posted above SF and even regular don't wear matching camo. Are you going to tell them how do play war?

I now present, my finished ICS L85 A2 External Mods (in no particular order): DD Rail Knock-Off AFG (though the cheeky bastards put it an a Magpul box) Element M600 flashlight clone No-Brand battery box (owing to the tiny space available in the DD RIS) G&P 1x30mm reflex sight on No-Brand rail riser on B&T Dovetail > Picattiny adapter PTS Enhanced Polymer Mags Osprey Mk4 sling point (connects to my Plate Carrier, though has slipped and let the rifle go a couple of times) Internal Mods: Custom-made Metal Hop arm Madbull Blue 60 degree rubber element "H" nub crimps connecting the motor replaced by solder (better current flow) The last time i skirmished it, I didnt have the flashlight (though a quick test at home and is plenty bright enough to light a small room to normal levels). It shoots like a laser indoors, no more than a couple of good shots (ie well aimed) and a standing target 30m away is hit, very consistent. but above all else, it feels good, and (In my opinion) it looks good. Maybe in the future i might swap for an Elcan replica, but until then, I declare this gun my own. my next gun is on the way, and its a much lighter GHK G5, which incidentally is LESS THAN HALF the weight of the ICS (G5 = 2kg, L85 = ~4.5kg) and being GBB, might be a hell of a lot more fun to shoot

  15. That was my thought lol happens all the time Grape I don't think he meant to be offensive or anything, he was simply pointing out that there's likely a good reason for the mixing. Given there's clearly some effort put into the load out, someone turning around and saying its all over the place could be taken as a bit harsh. Big deal over nothing ultimately.

  16. Not to mention the fact that he is trying to put together a specific loadout in which the real deal guys mix and match there camos

  17. cqb's - they are a bit more trickier/expensive to find/run bit of woodland not too bad, but trying to source a moderate size ground with buildings at a cheap price not so easy to get hold of... yup a number of old warehouse/factories/offices lying around you may think but very often the owner/landlord won't commit or let us lot rent it cheap, shoot it up etc.... They wanna leave it vacant, not commit to a cheapy rental agreement and sell it or knock down to develop My local site has been looking for a replacement after they lost their old school urban site But round here - South London/Surrey is a lot harder to come by - old field/woods in Surrey ok but they have had very little luck getting a possible cqb site going again

Welcome aboard. Have a look in the new players section of the forum, there are a number of useful guides to be found in there. Generally speaking, what you'll be wanting to do, is book into a skirmish site near you and hire some gear from them, do that a couple of times and then you'll be better informed on what kind of thing you like, what stuff most people have who go there regularly etc. It's tempting to rush out and buy a crapload of shiny stuff from websites, but you'll save a lot of trouble and expensive mistakes if you read the guides in that new arrivals section of the forums and just rent some gear for a few skirmishes before you decide to spend a lot of money on gear.

  25. The household FDM 3d printers are not very good for airsoft. You can print some external parts and then sand and paint it to look fine. It's a lot of work. So it's not like you download an airsoft gun, print it and skirmish it. It's also not a very good choice if you want to print something that can be bought. By the time you design it, print it, refine it, sand it, paint it, it's not really worth it. It's good for prototyping and creating your own designs. I have printed a gas block for my G3 without the sights so I can use lower scope mounts. I printed a mount to put a red dot on the scope too. I printed ranger plates for the G3 mags. I'm printing a face mask now. I tried to print a frontset but that didn't work, it warped. So it's fun but you can't really print things that would worth the price of the printer. SLA printers on the other hand would work fine to create parts suitable for airsoft. You don't need to buy one, there are print shops with SLA printers.

  26. Mixed feelings time!! My take on the TF2 flamethrower. not quite ready yet, gotta swap the can (was thinking Heinz, but found a tin with a rainbow on it, think that more accurate to the pyro), replace the fuelpipe, make a mag from a bigger tin, maybe replace the igniter aswell. and make a steel lower handguard.

  27. Oh yes, during gaming it'l be up higher, I dont have a web belt to attach it onto just yet so I had to make do with a loop on my BDU pants, itll be fixed the next time I go to the surplus shop. I think its possible. there's alot of excess strap.
