In this world of pc and stuff the sniper was ill-equiped,is the sniper obliged to carry a secondary or does it depend on the site? The bang rule is poor imho, youtube the yanks playing with it..."I banged you",it is on par with blind firing the way they use it.. Anyway if the sniper had any savvy he could've thrown and handful of bb's at the op's back...all this "if you shot me I'd ~~~###@'#" that's worse than what the op did..because was perfectly within the rules to do what he did,but people would advoctae shooting below MED with a 500 fps sniper..3 points -

Yes but the difference is that one person can't shoot due to safety reasons. It's not as simple as I can but you can't. He was sporting though you're right, for that I commend the guy, he just can't complain that he wasn't prepared for the situation. We play a shooting game where you should expect to get hit. It'd be a bit of a tragic game if we simply dropped our guns and just shouted at each other.2 points -

Don't buy dude. Get G&G CM for a first a good choice. my first was a G&G CM16 couldn't fault it in the slightest and I've had a lot of weapons but have to say one of my best. My best weapon I've ever had is my current G&G has been flawless from day dot and many people have commented on how flawless it's performance is and it's sound as well2 points -

You don't want to be buying any cheap gun from a 'bb guns' website. If they do sell more expensive guns, they are usually over priced anyway compared to other retailers. You're better off saving up for another gun which is much better quality and buying from a proper airsoft website such as Pro Airsoft Supplies, Zero One, Airsoft World, Patrol Base, Fire Support or Land Warrior Airsoft. Welcome to the forums2 points -

The dude was behind him, weapon aimed, with enough time to make a decision and call out... Whether he got there on purpose or by accident makes no difference. He did the reasonable thing and then got shot for it... I don't think that's on at all... I think its a pretty off call... The med is there as a safety feature, not an excuse to dodge hits... The op was in another guys sights. You're either hit via a bb or a statement... But you're definitely hit...2 points -

I think you're being a bit harsh on the guy, he did try and do the right thing and took the hit from the OP without question immediately. Yes he should have had a secondary but equally he could have shot and claimed his sniper was only 350fps and to a plate carrier/rig your not going to notice enough to complain. If anything his mistake was having faith in the fact good sportsman ship would be reciprocated, which is a stretch granted in a combat game So was OP right? 'legally' yes 'morally' no However, the former is the one that actually matters in reality2 points -
I equally don't like the bang rule leads to arguments and is often used in stupid situations You were under no obligation to take the hit and so under the rules you were well within your right to do what you did, but it wasn't the sporting option and this sport is entirely based on good sportsmanship2 points

Whilst that statement is true, airsoft and real world is quite different (mainly based on safety). Minding safety doesn't make you nice or a good player... It's the RULES! The OP played by the rules and came out on top. His opponent could have chosen an easy fix but for whatever reason couldn't be bothered to pack a £6 rubber knife! I would have taken the hit if he tapped me with a banana. At least it's a pointy object lol. 'Take your hit' is just plain lazy2 points -

CaptainSwoop and one other reacted to Nickona for a topic
I don't think anyone can criticise the sniper really as he was good about taking the hit afterwards, many people would not have been Yes it was in the rules of the game that you could turn around and shoot him but I wouldn't say it was a sporting move. Places I say that if someone has the drop on you and asks you to surrender its not mandatory (you can turn and shoot) but A. prepare to get laced (assuming its not a sniper) and B. don't be a dick, he's worked for the kill and you only know he's there because he was kind enough not to shoot you and all you have to do is go and respawn2 points -

Let us get one thing clear The reason why the sniper can have 450-500fps sniper is because: Single shot AND min engage distance otherwise lets just go nuts with 450+ fully auto at point blank range - screw the chrono and call an ambulance now There are rules - some are common sense some don't make much sense and times when people don't always play by them BUT there are rules and guidelines which are stated at the start - don't like them don't play Sniper must be thinking I should of had secondary or crap I was I brought my AEG instead of this But think it was fair play and nothing really bad - just $hit happens & move on I mean in real life If I got shot in my little toe with a £10 springer pistol - don't think I would be fatally wounded but a hit is a hit so to speak so we play and abide by rules - silly or not2 points -
The wording of the VCRA is that a gun is an imitation firearm ('two tone') if it's "principal colour is unrealistic." The idea of 51% is therefore derived from the assumption that anything more than half will count as 'principal.' All that said, if you are 'an airsofter' (i.e. you play airsoft at a proper site and could demonstrate this) then you're well within your legal rights to do whatever you want to your gun in whatever colour you want to do it. Get your kicks.2 points

Guy needs to buy a £6 rubber knife or a £15 springer pistol lol You did nothing wrong in my opinion. Snipers appreciate the minimum engagement rule especially as it's based on safety reasons. If they shoot too close that's cause for getting kicked off site! It's just plain dangerous especially when you consider the vast majority (almost all) standard eye pro isn't rated to 500fps at close range! Bearing that in mind, if he shot me with a pistol which malfunctioned I'd politely ask him to show me the mag. If it has BBs and gas if put the lack of shot down to malfunction outside his control and assume he wouldn't miss a target my size from 5m. I've done this before as i feel it's in the spirit of the game. but not carrying a knife or pistol as a sniper is your choice. Your fair game As for bang rule it's so so sooooooo weak! It's actually counterproductive to the sport. It's anti-combat! I can understand it for under 18s games but for the rest of us it's like 'touch rugby' which makes my blood boil. The way I see it is that if a guy is smart enough and stealthy enough to get behind me then he has every right to shoot me cold in the back assassination style. As long as he's not too spiteful and shoots me in the back of the head/neck it's all good. Between the shoulder blades is polite or the bum cheeks are good for extra humiliation lol. I deliberately keep my knife on my left leg because of the bang rule! Why I hear you ask? Well if you shout bang at my back my right hand raises my rifle as if in a passive fashion. Now at this point I don't shout hit but because I appear slumped and my gun raises you assume I'm pussying out! As your eyes fixate in the rifle my left hand stabs behind me and you are now in fact DEAD! Sneaky yes but deffo a lesson learned! If you get a chance to kill me... Please do!2 points -

Big boots aren't for running? This is news to me. I've owned and used British Assault boots as part of a uniform requirement for the past 3 years- I've used mine on field exercises, ranges and assault courses, and I've needed to run a hell of a lot more during those than I've had to run in a skirmish. Sorry to sound hard on you, but there is no suitable alternative to combat boots when it comes to mobility and ankle protection. You may be able to run faster in Nikes, but they don't have that deep tread boots do which help them to dig into mud.2 points

Get the drop on someone simply means you have them in your sights at close range 10m and under and they are unaware of your presence, if you didn't mean to come across them but they are still unaware of you while your sighted on them then you're just more aware then they are you've got the drop on them1 point -

Assuming the site has no bang rule bollocks I'd have done the same thing. If I get the jump on someone ill often give them the chance to take it without getting hit but ill be prepared to shoot if they try anything (somewhere where it won't hurt of course). If he had a sniper rifle and no alternative for these situations he probably deserved to get shot anyway. You can just run into people expecting them to take hits left right and centre. My local doesn't operate a bang rule but suggests you give them a surrender option, the key word being option. Best way to deal with the scenario in my opinion, if he had a suitable gun for the situation then he'd have gotten away with it.1 point -

I'd ask your site about the bang rule. Basically very few, but some, sites will let snipers just say bang within min engagement/a few metres. The woodland site I go to doesn't because who's to say they will actually hit you at that range anyway? So just shouting BANG is gay. Imo you did nothing wrong mate. If he can't engage because he doesn't have the correct equipment then that's his problem. Sounds like he was trying to use the power of his voice to get a hit.1 point -
And it will cost you just under £30 to actually buy both, as you'll have to buy an NiMh battery first, which tend to be more expensive?1 point

You have 1 gun and 1 magazine, you don't need any sort of chest rig till you have something to put in it. Spend your money on a pair of suprus camo trousers, a good pair of surplus boots, a good pair of goggles/eye pro (facemask if under 18) a green hoody/fleece and possibly some gloves. Play a few games and wait till you get your UKARA, if you buy a two tone/transparent gun you WILL regret it in two months time. find a local surplus store or try ebay Trousers: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-British-Army-Surplus-Combat-Trousers-Soldier-95-DPM-in-Various-Sizes-VGC-/370691990761?pt=UK_Collectables_Militaria_LE&var=&hash=item564ef6e4e9 Boots: http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_odkw=surplus+army+boots&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR5.TRC2.A0.H0&_nkw=surplus+army+boots&_sacat=0 Deacthlon are selling a nice green fleece for £7 at the min,1 point -

I use a pair of Karimoor walking shoes. They have a trainer feel to them but the grip of walking boots so perfect for most indoor CQB. I've got some actual walking boots for winter as slipping on ice isn't ha hilarious as it looks. I always play in jeans, got some from primark for a tenner that are stretchy so they're easier to run in. If you're rubbing an AK go for either a terrorist or PMC look as most of it you can wear with both looks- jeans, walking boots, green chest rig, shemagh, good gloves, good eye pro. You can then just change your top and headwear to suit- longsleeve black t shirt or fleece and a baseball cap for PMC and a tshirt, kameeze and pakol for insurgent. 2 loadout a for next to nothing .1 point -

I feel sorry for Scout. I have known him for over six years, Im not claiming to be his best friend or any such thing. I saw him at The Fort last Sunday June 1st 2014. The guy so wants to avoid being hassled, that he no longer wears the Danish M84 camo which most people know he has worn for years. Yet kid after kid would butt right in as he sat with his friends, they would totally ignore the person talking to Scout and go right in mid conversation, not even so much as an "Excuse me" And that includes you DX115FALCON. You slate Scout videos and the people in them, but you were right in there as soon as you got the chance, myself and others were watching shaking our heads in despair. Just leave the guy alone. Unlike other YouTubers he is not an attention seeking kid, he does not like being the centre of attention. People always ask why he films Daedalus and others a lot, its because they are his friends, how hard is that to figure out? As for shooting the gun and hitting targets, he has explained via replies on YouTube etc 1000 times, over and over again "Its basic editing" He has never hidden the fact. What does surprise him is that people have to ask when its so bloody obvious. He said one time at POW "I wonder if people meet Steven Spielberg and ask him, how he managed to get video of the Americans shooting at the Germans when he made Saving Private Ryan and did that German actually shoot that American?" I have heard hundreds of people ask Scout, moron level questions about his videos, questions where my reply would be "Are you F***ing stupid? It's editing" But Scout always remains polite. After you left Scout on Sunday DX115FALCON, one of his friends at the table asked Scout "Why are you always polite to these idiots" I heard Scout say "Because if I say one word out of line, these people will go on Reddit and Airsoft forums repeating what I said, but adding stuff and it will believed by all who read it, no-one will question it, people like to believe the worst about others" And he is correct. I see things about Scout on Reddit and other Airsoft forums all the time, most comes from people who do not really know him, some who claim to good friends of his and I have even heard of people claiming to be him at The Shot Show and IWA in Germany. I noticed the other day, that he did say on his Facebook page, that he is considering going to Airsoft sites in England and not telling anyone who he is, no cameras, he just wants to play Airsoft and have a good time with his friends. I hope he does that, he was a decent player, not awesome, but good enough to want on your team and I could always rely on him to have some good sweets hidden somewhere in his chest rig, be good to see him just playing again. Now guys just give him a break.1 point -

But if your mum/dad/other responsible adult doesn't have UKARA then they can only buy you an imitation firearm. They can't use your defence of skirmishing (which you can't really get until your 18) so unless they have their own you are not going to be getting a RIF.1 point
