BRITISH AIRSOFT CLUB ANNOUNCEMENT.....
Suzuki Yamamoto and 3 others reacted to ronnyjodes for a topic
You could say the big reveal was an anti-Qlimax. I'll get my coat.4 points -
The point of this is they seem all about the money, a couple of people have realised there's some cash to be made from players wanting a cheaper option and who can blame a player for that Airsoft is a costly hobby in three years it's cost me about £7k or more (stupid I know) and then adding membership on top for some sites it's expensive so these have taken advantage of this fact but to IGNORE the basic checks is just madness and they call it someone TRYING to breach their security well I am sorry trying wasn't hard and I breached it alright could have wiped my arsed with it and they wouldn't have noticed. It just annoys me they after this being brought to light they still act so relaxed about the whole thing like it means nothing. a JOKE from my point of view.3 points

BRITISH AIRSOFT CLUB ANNOUNCEMENT.....
CaptainSwoop and one other reacted to Airsoft-Ed for a topic
They have blocked people for calling them out on data issues like this. Instead of addressing things properly they make up a half arsed, poorly written excuse, with made up statistics, that will tide over the majority of people, and block all the people who won't let it slide. I personally have no issues with selling RIFs to anyone at all. If they act like a dick with it, so what? They'd have only bought it from someone else anyway, or bought a two tone and painted it, or bought an air gun. Then they'll be let off anyway because there's a million and one loop holes they could've obtained a RIF through anyway. It is the principle of a defence that I stand by and that stops me from just becoming an underground black market gun launderer for the non-defence holding masses. The need for a defence is an utter waste of everyone's time and effort. But BAC are shitting on that principle by pretending they have all these things in place to legitimise it, when they clearly do not. If they did, then they wouldn't have had to make up those percentages they stated.2 points -

So after all the messages that have been posted here it is, its not even exciting it's just they could ruin airsoft for us all if they continue. So most of you have heard of BAC and if you go on their website it talks to talks and appears to walk the walk. So I applied to membership and it was accepted but all seemed to be done a little to fast. Which got me thinking that considering that amount of checks they claim to make it was all a lilttle fast so I made her up. BELOW Completely fake not even a real person, submitted an application and sent a completely fake ukara email over to which contained a site that isn't even active nor has anyone played on it for a year or more and hasn't been UKARA for 2 yrs. so NO WAY should a defense been accepted for this person not if all their checks were done as they claim they are but OH SHITE BAG I received this...... ACCEPTED. pay my subscription and membership card will be in the post WOW. what a joke. now some of you may say well what you have done is wrong and out of order but if i can do this being an HONEST AIRSOFT PLAYER then what's stopping a thug from doing this and then being able to buy RIF's for illegal purposes. Now you might also ask why a girl well that's to prove I have NO intension of using this nor am i going to pay for this either. So i put it to everyone. There checks are poor, they validate anyone and take all info you as GOLD AND HONEST but lets face it there's more than a fair share of people out there that simply aren't HONEST. UKARA alternative my ARSE.2 points

A good industrial map would be awesome. An abandoned build site or something. Would be better for assassin-type players than forest areas and such. Also, for us Counter Strike players, a replica cs_office map for hostage rescue. Someone rich with planning permission PLEASE.1 point -

Airsoft_Mr B reacted to ronnyjodes for a topic
Scenarios that mimic tv and film for me: The whole end battle at the end of Commando where Arnie is running around shooting baddies with different guns. One player vs a whole team, unlimited lives for the Arnie player and mags and guns scattered around. Objective to get to Chennnneeeeeee before she's killed. Aliens vs Colonial marines- nuff said. Battle Royal. Every man for themselves, weapons scattered around site, points for kills with unusual weapons. Last man standing wins. Away from the film theme I did have an idea for a game where there are various inflatables around the site (guitars, clubs, hammers, those ride on dolphins and crocodiles you get at the seaside) that both teams are trying to find. The team with the most at their base at the end wins. Items can be stolen from opposing bases and used as mele weapons. Medic rule applies but death by comedy inflatable means you're out of the game straight away. I have far too much spare time to think up shite like this ;-).1 point -
Do Not take one to fields or anywhere public. They are imitation firearms and that would be illegal and potentially dangerous. If you are under 18, it is illegal for you to buy one.1 point

BRITISH AIRSOFT CLUB ANNOUNCEMENT.....
Rapid reacted to fivezerothree for a topic
A few things have come of this realisation; they don't have the facilities to check or verify anything. In fact they rely solely on UKARA defectors and Skirmish Sites to verify their site membership/regular skirmish attendance. So basically the BAC does nothing other than charge you and give you a plastic bloody card as all the work is already done for them. In super short, if you are eligible to become BAC 'verified' – you already have a defense and can save yourself the £8 a year.1 point -

I'm surprised you didn't get a more emphatic version of this already: DO NOT USE WD40! Keep that stuff well away from any part of your gun. Petroleum-based lubes will degrade the rubber parts of your weapon, as Swoop mentioned. Earlier posters have covered everything, I just wanted to drop a +1 on WD40 thing.1 point -
Want to get a feel for airsoft, recommend a cheap spring gun?
Airsoft_Mr B reacted to Sitting Duck for a topic
find a site and try it out - going in "battle" is a LOT different to you just shooting a target at home you will be lucky to find a skirmish-able gun under £100 new and deffo never get one under £50 or £60 you will get owned especially at mid range upwards you just come away with hump - rent a proper gun yes you could scrape by with a cheap gun at cqb but most are woodland so you will get owned even renting a gun isn't as expensive as say paintball renting - bb's are cheaper than paintballs for a start try it - you probably love it like most of us. Depends on your age - but won't take long to get UKARA and a proper gun or maybe if you are gonna get into it then you get a 2 tone one for about £80 to £150 if you are gonna do it say twice a month x 3 months say (Usually gun hire is about £20 say but includes bb's - 20 x say 5 or 6 visits and you might be nearly breaking even) then it might not be too bad buying a sort of decent low spec gun and see if you get a proper black gun in 6 months or so but deffo no crap china gun from BB site - ask here first if you are really on budget Dragon for about £72 + battery is the only one I may say get - rest are just chinese crap pay a bit more and you do get better guns for ICS or G&G @ £100+ Or you could buy my B500A1 - very low use - coz it is crap - lol1 point -

To this day.... I've never met a man who brought a TM recoil and then reverted back to a non recoil equivelant. The recoil function is a completely new dimension to your gameplay and once you've tried it you will ALWAYS miss it. Seriously if someone tried to swap me a £1200 systema for my £600 recoil I'd honestly laugh in they're face. I'm not knocking system (they are incredible guns) but I will always feel naked with no recoil. Yes gas gives a harder kick but for me I can't be asked with extremely lo cap expensive mags and the maintenance. It's quite simple... If you can afford a recoil... BUY A RECOIL If your cute... Pimp your own ass to afford one. If your ugly... Pump your mother! Just do what it takes!1 point -

From their facebook ** IMPORTANT NOTICE - CHANGE OF POLICY ** It has been brought to our attention that a member of UKARA has falsified their player self check in an attempt to become a member of the BAC. The BAC policy was to accept existing UKARA members into the BAC by the member forwarding their own UKARA player self check email. We did not think for one moment that an existing UKARA member would doctor their legitimate e-mail to create a false identity in order to attack the credibility of BAC. The whole idea of the player self check was to enable the easy transfer of existing registered UKARA players to the BAC. We have found that 99% of airsofters are honest and honourable, however this incident has identified the 1% that are dishonest and unscrupulous. Therefore we have modified our practice accordingly. 95% of existing BAC members have been identified through our stringent checks via direct contact with the airsoft sites verifying games played. We regret to say that going forward, we no longer be able to accept existing UKARA players via their player self check e-mail. This is to prevent any further attempted security breeches. All players will need to identify the last three games played over a period of time greater than 56 days. This will then be verified by the BAC via direct contact with the airsoft site. This should now prevent any other dishonest parties trying to infiltrate and discredit the BAC. We thank the BAC members for their continued support. Best wishes, BAC1 point -

British Airsoft Club, set up as an alternative to UKARA by a retailer which didn't meet the requirements to become a UKARA member so set up their own system and charged people X amount of money to join it; I expect they've raked in a huge amount of cash for doing pretty much shit-all. Now someone's realised that BAC membership means nothing in the real world because almost all of the big retailers refuse to accept it and HMRC probably don't even know what it is.1 point -

I would agree with the guys above - get out and rent one first time. Had a few peeps with cheap guns in my last game and by the end they were really frustrated as they were getting stomped by the guys with real (and rental) guns. Rent first, determine you are going to play and then buy a transparent/two tone of something cheap but decent if it will save you money in compared to renting (I saved about £100 in all doing this). Then you wait for your UKARA and buy a decent RIF. Isn't any point starting with anything less than about £100 outlay electric AEG. Cheap springers just aren't skirmish capable.1 point -

It 'should' be able to take almost any m4 style magazine, there will always be some exceptions but almost any of them will most likely work fine. The regular G&G hi-caps are good quality and reasonably priced, if you're after mid-caps though you'll most likely have to try another brand as the G&G ones seem to be a pain to get hold of.1 point -

Metal parts aren't all their cracked out to be, a lot of low quality metal is used in airsoft parts- we had a member who dropped one of their ICS metal M4s when taking it out of his attic and the receiver snapped in two. TBH if you want metal, get one of the G&G Top Techs. They're more expensive as there's metal in it, it's got stamped markings, unique serial number etc and the Gen 2s and 3s have some internal changes from the originals. You can pick up a basic Gen 3 M4 for £250, and if you can find any Gen 2s floating around, they'll be on at about £200. But honestly I'd get a G&G Combat Machine for the time being, and maybe in a year or so buy yourself a Top Tech or a G&P rifle. G&P have the best externals by far out of the manufacturers and OK internals- if you get a gun tech to have a look at it or ask the retailer to put some upgrades in while it's in store for a bit extra, then it'll be great.1 point -

Airsoft_Mr B reacted to CES_williamson for a topic
okay i think i get where you are getting confused (don't worry there is a lot to learn we all get confused!) there is a difference between an aeg with blowback and an GBB. an aeg with blowback is a rifle that uses battery's and a gearbox to work, but it has a small plate on the ejection port that moves back and forth creating a simulation of the real thing. a gas blowback, is where the the gun uses gas to work that is stored in the mag,it uses a bolt and some fancy stuff that i have no idea about as dad wont let me touch his gbb m4! but the problem is that a gas blowback mags only hold 30 rounds, and as a starter you should go with an aeg if it has blowback its fine dont worry nothing really to maintain but if you go with a GBB for your first gun without any experience with airsoft guns gbb or aeg probably not the best bet honestly go for an G&G AEG combat machine ! any particular questions please ask we will all be happy to help!!1 point -
This is NOT a good choice for a first rifle. http://www.zerooneairsoft.com/product_info.php?cPath=268&products_id=8296&osCsid=bd5296770e1832cdf7068553b3321e6e GBB means gas blockback. Not nearly as reliable, takes a lot more care, more expensive to run, mags will be expensive, rare 2nd hand mags, only lowcaps available etc. etc. My opinion is that you should own at least 2 AEGs (primary and spare) before getting a GBB. At least if you intend to skirmish. GBB are plenty fun thou, but get your AEGs first! and if I started out and wanted reliability (as oppose to m4-tacticoolness), I'd choose CYMA AK, the VFC/LCT clones (such as CM.045 or CM.048). Will be way more reliable than anything else you can get at a beginners budget. Great out the box performance as well.1 point

Two-tone guns and tape...
Airsoft_Mr B reacted to ForestFighter for a topic
Heh, yeah perhaps I am! That is indeed a very good point. I had never really thought of that. I think there really needs to be a better clarification of be law from the government's side. I can understand that if you wrote a section for each and every thing the VCRA potentially encompasses, it'd be ten miles long, but due to the popularity of sports like airsoft in this country, a section specifically for the sport would be welcome. Then again, the legislation.gov website does say that there are outstanding changes that need to be added to the website so fingers crossed... Either way, thanks for the help guys. I know the two-tone thing has been discussed 28 billion times before and people are probably sick to death of it by now but it really is appreciated.1 point -
