Don;t you know gender is a social construct OP? You're just a tool of the misogynist fat shaming patriarchy I swear you're triggering my PTSD. How dare you. I bet you're a cis gendered white privileged male sitting writing about hating non binary people of color. I cannot begin to say how offensive this thread is. Morrisons Supermarket Selling Imitation Firearms!

Right, I just got an email back from Rebekah Brooks. She said: "we need more to go on if we're finally going to shut airsoft down." I prepared this for her: Airsofters Try to 'Snuff' Out 'Risk to Children' - by Constance Curtaintwitcher Following on from our damning story about the supermarket that sold firearms to schoolchildren for pocket money, we approached the 'airsoft' community, who approve of such activities, to gauge their opinion. Airsoft is a form of paintball, but unlike paintball it's not 'just a laugh.' In this dark world of make-believe grown men lure younger players to hidden 'sites' across the country where they're told to act out various fantasy 'scenarios' in the hope of one day earning the right to buy ever more deadly and realistic looking guns. One lead spokesman for this shockingly large and growing trade spoke to us, but would only be identified by his evil sounding moniker 'Snuff.' We told him about how the industry had been exposed by a concerned insider with a message of hope for change and better regulation and he nonchalantly replied that the message should be "ignored." During a frankly shocking confessional interview he went on to discuss "buggering" and how he had personally been involved with "tennis ball hand grenades." Will these be the latest tools to drag our innocent children from their safe and snug beds and into a world of terrorist training? (See our editorial. The answer is; yes, yes they will. That and immigrants.)4 points -
Some of you know how passionate I am about the VCRA, so I was shocked to find these in one of their stores today: I've already prepared this news story for publication in the Daily Mail: Morrisons Super Black Market - by Victorya Ukipy The well known UK supermarket 'Morrisons' has introduced a new line: deadly firearms for children. For just £3 our reporter was able to purchase these two replica firearms. The guns are exact models of the powerful Glock 19mm that is used by police armed response teams and the MP5 assault rifle machine gun that was famously used by Osama bin Laden. Most shockingly of all our reporter was not even asked for a UKARA license to purchase these guns, which is a legal requirement in the UK. Outside he asked one of the Morrisons employees to explain how this was the case, however the employee failed to answer questions such as: 'don't you think there's a risk that kids might fill these with acid and shoot each other? Or that they might fill them with petrol and then fire them into the engines of cars that are only supposed to be filled with diesel?' The employee's comment was simply: "I don't know mate, I just get paid to push the trolleys." Well, as our investigation has shown, that's not all they're pushing. They're also pushing death on our kids. They may also have something to do with the rise in illegal immigration. Our investigation continues.3 points

Sites that ban cameras?
Airsoft_Mr B and 2 others reacted to M_P for a topic
These are the kind of little things that can put people off sites, I don't use a camera or anything but the principle of not allowing it kinda annoys me. It's a bit like fire-supports sites not allowing gbbs other than pistols, it doesn't affect me as I don't use one regularly at the moment but it would stop me going there anyway as it's ridiculous.3 points -

I highly doubt hes going to walk around the streets in russia dressed as a uk police officer ffs. Its an airsoft forum lads, ever think it may be for an airsoft loadout? it is illegal to impersonate a member of HM Forces yet we see plenty of players on site in the gear week in week out3 points

Any site that makes a point of saying they don't allow filming just screams "Our staff are unprofessional dick heads and we don't want the world to know until after we've taken your money" to me. Fuck them. I don't understand how MoD sites are any different to any other sites either. They're just built areas to mimic real locations but without there being civilians to accidentally kill all over the place. What power does it give anyone to have a video of a training facility? =/2 points -

Really? Your telling me that those pictured toys closely resemble a real gun to a normal person? That's the working definition of a Imitation Firearm. Did you know there are companies that sell "wild fruit" products but they are technically breaking the law because you cannot sell wild fruit, berries or nuts for commercial gain as it's technically theft. If they are commercially grown then it's false advertising. Nothing gets done because 1) The Police/trading standards have better things to do 2) nobody cares2 points

Sites that ban cameras?
Airsoft-Ed reacted to Airsoft_Mr B for a topic
Yeah I have to agree with CaptainSwoop here I don't fully understand the reasoning of no photography at MoD sites. I mean, it's only a training facility after all and if the Iranians / North Koreans / or whoever else threatens our interests could just go on Google if they want to find out about our super top secret military installations (that we let a load of airsofters go to) Pretty sure I have seen some footage from one of these MOUT places though? Was this a thing introduced very recently or something?1 point -

My local did this, banned all videos and photos yet carried on taking them themselves. They gave a half-arsed mumbled reply about protecting minors or something- the same minors who are required to wear full face masks anyway? Idiocy.1 point -
They will lose in the long run, It's when you see someone playing at a site and go "Huh, That's not too far from me, I'll try it out" They are basically forfeiting a form of advertisement.1 point

Right you bunch of fuck nuggets An Imitation firearm is something that - oh I'm not even going to bother with big words so we'll introduce an "acid" test? If you were to take the Morrison's water pistol or replica of choiceand lay it on a table if front of a jury. Ask them if it's a real gun if they answer 1) yes, it might be or I'm not sure - Congratulations it's an imitation firearm 2) no, that's a water pistol from Morrisons', don't waste our time again like this or we'll kneecap you with a spade - unlucky, it's not an IF1 point

Well, just to be clear and not to be all moralising or a prick or anything, but as we are a responsible forum: you cannot purchase an airsoft gun yourself until you are 18 and, if I were you, I wouldn't imagine that you will be able to i. get Zero One to bend the rules or fail to ask you for ID, or ii. get some stranger at NAE to go in the shop and buy a gun with your money for you, since legally speaking to do so is the same as selling it to you (taking your money in exchange for an item, regardless of which way around the exchanges happen) and i think Zero One do take precautions against this kind of 'hanging around outside the off licence' stylee an ting... Also you will not be able to play unless your legal guardian signs an insurance waver on your behalf. It's something we all do before playing at a site which basically says that you understand there are risks involved and that you absolve the organisers of any responsibility should you get injured (although this does not actually absolve them of all duty of care, it means that you will not have a leg to stand on if you try to sue unless something happened to you only as a direct result of a failure of something for which the organisers have sole responsibility). I dunno how Zero One go about checking this, but the minimum age for players is 14, so they must have a policy. Maybe you have to download it and fill it in beforehand, maybe someone has to accompany you to at least book in, although from what they say on their webby I suspect you may have to be accompanied by an adult to get in (They say "Children and family members are welcome to join you camping whatever the age." ie people who are not players can attend as campers only for a few quid per night instead of the whole fee.) - you should contact them and ask via [email protected] I suspect that they will have some kind of common sense solution, because the event is far too big to have the kinds of nazi rules which invite people to break them - i'm sure that if one of your parents speaks to "H" (the boss) on the phone (01329 849818 or 07951 415188) they will be able to arrange it for you to attend with a relative or other adult and just bring the signed waver with you. Even if you've only skirmished a couple of times I'd say you should go; just so long as you know you like airsoft. It's such a laugh... plus you will not get the opportunity to be a part of a bigger battle than those which take place around The Village at the end of both days anywhere else in Europe. Don't let that intimidate you. You will not have 800+ people all shooting just at you at any one time... although, if you manage to get far forward enough, it may feel like it but you will have 400+ allies shooting back.1 point
