  1. I work with a lot of Tier 1 guys and various "specialist" units, and I know they get to do what they want. IDK about regular units however.
  2. Thats... interesting. And good to know. Honestly Id be surprised if there was some sort of true regulation on them - seems like such an absurd thing to regulate. The only time it really matter is if you have the rail. I really only refer to that the side with the button is listed as the "back", while the side with the rail attachment location is labelled the "front". End of the day it doesnt really affect anything. Heres a GripPod with the rail attachment for reference. Only a handful of my many (20+ at least) GripPods has the rail attachment, as just about everything has rails of some sort nowadays.
  3. Haha I figured you either had a different gun or setup for CQB. Just had a chuckle at your CQB list then having a 4x scope in there
  4. Whoops lol. Yea thats one reason, a second reason is there is an optional rail piece that can be fitted - you wouldnt want that behind your hand, and third most people would find it easier to press the button with their thumb over a finger, especially if some grit or anything got inside and stiffened it up a bit. But go ahead and put it whichever way works best for you, this is airsoft after all. Youre just giving me more fuel for my backwards GripPod joke is all 😉
  5. The rear is correct. The museum piece had it to the front. I actually work with Safariland, so I should know haha.
  6. Nope youve got it. I visited a Military museum near Dover that had a SA80 on the wall donated from their local guard or something - it also had a GripPod but it was on backwards. Now I have a running gag about Brits putting them on backwards...
  7. Congratulations on attaching your GripPod correctly 😉
  8. Agreed, welcome to the single-stack mag pouch club. I am bulky enough as-is, so the less sticking out the better. Ive managed to load a ton of gear onto my kit (though I mostly do two-day MilSims so its all necessary), but I keep it as low profile as possible at the same time. Good choice of holster too 😉 Also, why the medic bag? Another thing I carry at MilSims, but for normal weekend play its just added bulk and possibly get in the way since youre right handed. Id personally go triple single AR pouch on the front, pistol mags left hip (or a little more forward depending on preference) on the belt, and if you think you need more than 4 mags on the field at a time then maybe another 2 singles on the left front of your vest where your double is now. Prone will be more comfortable, less snagging on doorways, and itll balance a bit better.
  9. Well after 6 months of digging through my basement I finally found that pesky valve for my Tag-015 that went flying across the room when I disassembled it to repair a leak. As such I was finally able to move forward on my SSG PP-19-01 and get it finished. I have two optics to decide on - a Kobra and a PK-06, both real from Russia. One will go on my real KR-9 (civi version of the Vityaz, which is what the PP-19-01 is based on), while the other will go on the 19. Unfortunately both are at work in my KR-9's box, so itll be fall before I get ahold of either one again as work has been cancelled through till the end of August... Also my SR-25, just because Ive never posted it here.
  10. Bored at home, built a rack. Im sure the family will be happy to have them off the ground...
  11. Tanchanka is coming along haha. My attempt at a Fall Partizan (the same camo I wear with my Tanchanka (tan-based Tachanka)) paintjob turned out decent, especially as all sources listed the four colors as black, brown, tan, and “loam”. So I had to blend paints to get that final color. All in all I’m happy with my first camo’d paintjob - everything else I’ve done has been worn monotones
  12. Anyone know what the STAR L86 gearbox is like? Mine of oh so many years has finally failed, but I am yet to open it. I was thinking of HPQing it, but I do not know if it is a standard v2 gearbox, or how different it is.

if you're hpa'ing it then you only really need it to have a standard sized cylinder.

the likes of the polarstar/wolverine drop-in systems can be wired to existing trigger contacts and have a variety of nozzle lengths available (you can always get a longer one and turn it down if needs be).

you can also get an offset nozzle if needed.

Great. Yea that answers all of my questions. Knowing it’s Ares means I can get diagrams easily, as well as knowing it’s a standard cylinder.

  13. Oooooo, where? Im almost afraid to field mine in fear of falling on my a** like usual and breaking it...
  14. Finally finished my Daewoo K2. I went the opposite route of @mightyjebus and @HuttArmouries and HPA'd mine - only because I dont have the money nor care to build up a good AEG gearbox right now and I do have a spare Polarstar Fusion Engine lying around. I added a real steel Stormwerkz K2 rail because I hate iron sights, a Vortex Sparc2 on a Rogers Riser, a Rogers Rail Light since there was still some room on the rail, and a Phantom flash hider, simply because thats the closest one I could find to what the K2s in service have on them. I was forced to use the less than ideal but still OK hop unit from the K2 as it is too tight for my spare Maxx, ProWin, or really any standard AR hop unit, but its got my spare barrel, bucking, and flat hop from my SR-25 so it should have some good range.
  15. I will admit Id buy a CX-4. Ive shot a real one before and its nice.
  16. Its a Toystar direct from Korea. BNIB and everything. Didn't see any spare parts like you said in the box, but Ill have to look again and see. Idk where the box ended up, ill have to find it later.
  17. Neat. Ive actually got one of these lying around. Didn't really know what I was buying and was annoyed it was a springer (guy selling didn't have the greatest English so some miscommunication), but had heard they can be converted. Didnt want to open it up until I knew that it could be.
  18. Dont those start as springers? Or is there an AEG version im unaware of?
  19. Final verdict, shotguns are fun if used properly haha

Very satisfying when you get a kill using energy that you've put in yourself.

  21. Anyone own or mess around with the new Marui Type 3 AK-47 and know if it can take a scope mount?

  22. So I ordered four glock mag extensions from BoomArms, and they came without the necessary extended screws, despite stating that they came with screws included. Furthermore one of the packaging (not the package itself, the individually-wrapped part) was open. I messaged them but having past experiences with China has shown me they tend to not care. What are the odds of me ever getting new screws, and if not anyone know of anywhere I could buy some?

The mag extensions look great, and are solid. I mean not much else besides that, they seem to fit well, though without the screws I can’t really test that.

  23. Anyone know where I can find magazine extensions (functional) for Marui G-Series? Theres nothing stateside so figured id ask you guys.

@AK47frizzle, I have seen those and they are available stateside, but they are kind of a bit much. They are what I am going to have to go with though if yall dont come through with anything. @rocketdogbert Ill check them out.

@rocketdogbert They had exactly the model I like, the TTI version. I have some for my M&P and havent seen them in stock for either in years. Thanks.
