  1. Heck replace that deact with a Deepfire and throw some Taginns their way haha. Im thinking of doing a post-apo loadout myself, using some combination of my DP-28, A&K M1892, Umarex Peacekeeper, SMERSH, and probably a cobbled together or distressed launcher of some sort. Ill admit - your loadout there is more reminiscent of Division-style post-apo than like Fallout or end of the world post-apo. Still works though.
  2. Ive had several like that. My custom VSR-X was one - dropping a .65g BB into the chamber, and hitting a body at 120m with the first shot - I was all grins. I rarely use it though as its only really suited for MilSims - the 3.6j limit and very long range shot options make it worth it - if I snipe at a skirmish game Ill just use my lightweight VSR, or my new gun thats coming *wink *wink. My M134 also definitely falls in that category as well - the first time you heft that thing and give it a whirl... Still havent fielded it and its a PITA to work on, but still... My custom DP-28. Throw on a Maska 1 and you just feel the soviet national anthem playing in your blood. And finally, my Taginns. The first time you fire a Taginn dont get surprised if youre rocking half mast. Doesnt matter if its my ML-36, my Tag-015, or my Ares M320 with a C02 shell. Hell, I probably waste $150 in rounds just popping them off at the range - theyre just that much fun. Those are the main three that I just glance at and smile. I have guns I use a lot more - my KA 9mm SBR with prototype Virgo system comes to mind, as does my Jag - the first gun I built into a real powerhouse. But they dont have that love at first sight feeling.
  3. Well, guess i finally have a reason to visit the UK again
  4. As someone who has HPA tapped and HPA converted several gas guns, the above answers cover the gist of HPA tapping. Most GBB guns can have tapped mags quite easily, and yes you can switch back and forth between tapped and GG mags. Some non-GBB guns can also be HPA tapped (and im not counting NBBs like the mk23 which have similar gas reservoirs to GBBs) if they have an internal tank with an external fill valve. HPA converting is more difficult; ranging from simplier conversions like that of gas shotties to modified conversions (like my soon to be shown A&K M1982 HPA conversion) to full blown HPA conversions like a Daytona kit. Probably 85% of HPA'd GBBs will just be tapped though.
  5. Oh yea, looks like it came right out of a WWII picture book. Well done.
  6. For most people its not. You and I are the exception. IMO the standalone chassis is kind of pointless - it makes the thing so long that its difficult to carry both it and your rifle. And for the price you can buy an ARES M320 two C02 shells, and a FiSt 2. It gets even stupider when you add the HPA kit - itll cost more to buy the complete thing than any airsoft gun on the market thats not handmade barring the M134s.
  7. Cant guarantee theyll all work, but maybe buy one of the cheap ones for a few quid, and test it. If it works, great. If not they may have changed something, or idk.
  8. So I live in the US, where Taginns are a lot more common, especially at the big MilSims I often attend. I have owned probably 6 GG shells and two Pro C02 shells. I also own the Taginn ML-36 and Tag-015 launchers, as well as a bevy of other launchers. So my thoughts. Well, lets start with shells. First off, dont fill the GG with C02. I tried to do that for awhile but it just messes them up. Second, what kind of range are you looking at? Using the launcher sights on my ML-36 or Tag-015 with C02 I can land a round close enough to count out to 150m, weather, gas pressure, and wind dependent. Standard range is more around the 100m mark though when using the shells - the launchers are a bit better still (proof: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KAnSjc7MbRU , skip to about 3:30. This was one of my squadmates at a MilSim in 2017. He landed an Archangel (Impact Taginn) in an open doorway at approximately 500.95ft, or 152.69m using his ML-36). GG with a good charge and good weather (colder weather will affect them like any GG mag, to the point of failure to launch) I could probably get 70m. Still plenty for most weekend games. Luckily the arming mechanism of Taginn rounds is popped by sufficient pressure from the shell - so if you have a plopper like Ive had a few times they dont arm. Or at least I havent had any arm. Another thing to consider when picking shells - which rounds are you going to want to use? I personally like the Fate rounds, as they are hybrid fuse - impact or 5.5 second fuse. Reapers are 3.5 or 4.5 second fuse, while Archangels are impact. Velums are timed, and Paladins are impact (note, be careful with these. They are the most solid round - weve seen technical get their windshields broken by close range launching of a Paladin). If youre going with the 3.5 reapers, no matter which shell you choose your range is limited by fuse time. Heck with C02 shells or the three launchers that take C02 if I fire at the 300 foot sight mark the Fates (5.5 sec fuse) will detonate about 20m off the ground. So if youre going for the Reaper 3.5s, or only shooting ranges of 50-70m or so then the GG should be fine. Now, launchers. Youd think a metal launcher was better, but thats not always teh case. A lot are cheap Chinese pot metal. While they are fine externally to stand up to a few bumps and bangs, their firing pins actually began crimping under C02. Eventually theyll compress enough to not work anymore. And it doesnt take long - maybe 20-30 shots. I broke three of those S-Thunder metal short barreled launchers that way. I also own the double barreled S-Thunder polymer version still, and it seemed to work fine (admitably Ive only fired maybe 5 rounds through it, between having the final single S-Thunder fail and getting my current handheld launcher, the Ares M320). My Ares 320 has also preformed admirably, with over 100 rounds through it so far on C02 with no issue. Of course my two Taginn launchers are also perfectly fine. While I cant personally comment on most of the launchers youve listed, when it comes to fitting Taginn shells the only real important thing is the length. The short S-Thunders I had to spin on a lathe to open them up - the Taginns stuck out the front but who cares. If its longer barreled like a M320 or M203 it should be fine on fitment. A note on the Thor - I can almost guarantee you the spring-loaded firing pin cant take C02 Taginns. The shells actually have a bit of blowback. I had one C02 jammed (my fault), and the pin wouldn't move. I tried forcing it with my thumb, and got it to expel the gas. However, the pin popping back almost blew out my thumb. Luckily my joints are rather flexible, but even then it was a mess of swelling and bruising for several days. And I dont trust Redwolf's advertising any more than id willingly fly across the pond to visit them on my own dime. One final thing to note. Despite their claims, you do not need a FiSt to fill C02 shells. The Pro C02 shells fill just fine on my two other C02 fillers, and my FiSt 2 is actually prone to failure and issues. I also own a Madbull filler, which I used for quite awhile until I got my FiSt 2 with a large order I placed. I doubt I am a special case, and looking at the fill valves on the C02 shells there doesnt appear to be any obvious difference between its fill valve and that of a standard GG mag or MOSCART shell.
  9. Talked about it enough for now on other threads, but the DP-28 is coming along. So far a new, stronger buttpad locking mount has been completed, the upper and lower mag adapters have been completed, the feed ramp has been completed, and the stopping block has been completed (maybe. Had some issues with BBs getting in the way of the bullet spokes in the mag, but theres bigger issues still to sort before I make improvements). However BBs are still slipping through somehow. I suppose next is to recreate my follower in CAD as opposed to using the current handmade one. Its the only place where I can see bbs slipping through into the back of them mag with the new follower. In terms of things I might still do, I would like to drill into the upper and mount a pic rail for optics. Unfortunately when loaded the pan mag blocks the irons. Now, as this was always kind of meant to be used in conjunction with a Maska-1 helmet, ADSing isnt really an option so its not a huge deal. But if I used it without the helmet it'd be nice to have optics. I could additionally/instead create a second set of vertical irons like the real DP-28 has, and do away with the canted irons of the ZB30. Also, I was originally planning to make a forward locking block for the pan mag to sit on. I dont need to do that as the mag adapter is plenty solid enough to hold even a full mag in place, but it could help a bit with stability. Ill have to field test it first, which cant happen until after the mag issues are sorted.
  10. Me and one of the guys who sometimes comes to mooch off my surplus guns and gear *sputters* I mean one of my friends and me yesterday. First time out wearing the Flecktarn loadout - it was hot as can be (heat index around 37*C) but the gear was comparatively lightweight and quite comfortable. Uniform is Roman Flecktarn G3 pants and short-sleeve Combat Shirt, Crye Airflex Impacts, Linderhof PC, surplus German 3x2 mag pouch (may change this to a HSGI triple taco) and dangler, 2x Emerson flashbang pouches for my TRMRs, Maxpedition folding dump pouch, Valken Tactical tank pouch, black Oakley Pilots, an Qore Iceplate, Emerson neck gaiter, Pektor Comtac III dual comm headset (was only using it to listen to music through the left ear haha), MTEK Flux helmet painted myself in Flecktarn, and Oakley M-Frames with the helo kit. Guns were my King Arms 9mm SBR with PTS muzzle break, blue-laser PEQ, Magpul AFG2, Sig Romeo 5, and Safariland Single point Sling mount, and my custom TM G26 in a Safariland ALS on a paddle.
  11. Indoor, no problem. I have owned a bevy of BFGs, including TRMRs, Dynatex impacts, Zoxna rollers, VTGs, OhShiBooms, AlphaTechs, and probably a few others. TRMRs still stand as the best impacts I have used, and of all those grenades I had only 4 remain - two VTGs (for timed options) and two TRMRs with multishot bases. My Dynatex impacts were obtained secondhand and used for years before I finally sold them, and they were not light strikers at all. Really had to chuck them to get them to go off. I accidentally knocked a guy in the knee at The Mall once - he was on a knee on one side of the wall and I was on the other, I tossed it in (under knee height, he was kneeling remember) right as he popped around the corner, and bopped him right on the bone. No permanent damage besides to the minds of any youngsters around. But I had several failures with them - gravity alone wouldn't set one of the two off. Probably there was some grit or something in there clogging up the mechanism to be honest.
  12. No experience with that particular one, but it looks pretty for sure. The TM NGRS line has always been the best EBB line out there. Totally fieldable out of the box. I had one of their AK-105s and liked it, and my TM NGRS 416 Delta is great fun/
  13. Carbs... Oh you're serious... Hesitation then. Coming from a real steel background, where Im working 30 weeks out of the year training guys who are going overseas and such; we really have to drill the proper procedures of combat into them, and as an extension ourselves. As such its really easy to slip into a "real life" mode while airsofting, especially at big MilSims. In airsoft, you mess up you get pinged. IRL, you mess up your whole team dies. So when Im doing my best to teach these guys how to acquire targets, how to know when to move, etc I subconsciously fall into those practices, when none of that matters in airsoft haha. The amount of times Ive been low on ammo, whip out the handgun and hold a corner for 15 minutes waiting for people then smack myself going "no, rush the buggars itll be fun" annoys me looking back at the break. Doesnt really happen in weekend games, but those multi-hour long MilSims... Just send it and have fun.
  14. Can't comment on the Lee cause its not out yet, obviously, but the Tommy will be the easiest choice. AFAIK the Stens use the same internals as the MP40s and are either a pain to work on, hard to find parts for, etc.
  15. IMO, yes. I think once he started getting that company money he realized life was good and started his own products. It stopped being a hobby and started being a job.
  16. Your spring could have gone too. Its generally the only thing that needs replaced after a few years. PTS Still sells them I believe.
  17. Yea... However, the reason I knew a bit more at the time was due to me offering him and a few other Youtubers the (at the time) new GLS holster. Would have solved his holster troubles. However, he declined. I won't get into it more than that as I was officially working for Safariland at the time, but I essentially knew at that point he was being told what to use, not making his own choices.
  18. Yea there’s a handful of youtubers I’ve met who still maintain a good attitude and good videos. Alfonse, Swamp Sniper, and I believe Matt (though I’ve never played with him - we chatted at SHOT a few years back).
  19. Cant help you with 9mms, but .209s fit perfectly in a small Tic-Tac container. Used it for years - lose it, pop into a gas station and grab a new one. Minty breath and a new primer pouch.
  20. See, I used to like Nov. Back when he was just himself - SB Fabi would occasionally be there, but it was just a guy who loved his VSR playing the game, and doing well. I died a bit inside when he accepted the Redwolf or whoever's offer, and ditched his TM G18 and Safariland holster setup for whatever flavor of the day they wanted him to use in a cloth holster. That was the day I knew he was going downhill, and we may have finally reached rock bottom. On a side note, whats with all the VFC hate? Theres an absolute ton of them on this side of the pond, and while older models were admitably bad, everything Avalon and up has been a massive success here. Heck I own like 10 VFC guns - an Avalon, three M&P-9s for dry fire practice at our range, a M27 LE, a M27 GBB, a 417, a G28, a G28 LE, and a few others. My TM 416 NGRS Delta broke before any of those.
  21. Working on the DP-28 mag adapter. Its not quite there but all my CADing has been accurate - hoping to have it done for this weekend... Now who wants a pan mag on an AR57
  22. Thats actually the (visually) finished product. Nope. Though I am honestly happy you two can't tell. Its a DP-28 Im making using a Echo1 ZB-30 body, a real DP-28 mag, and 3D printing a three-piece adapter to make it all work together.
  23. Well, time to necro. So a few things have happened since my last update. First, the guy making my stock went AWOL. And has been so for about a year and a half... And he kept my gun... Honestly I kind of gave up after that. The Echo1 ZB-30 is a discontinued gun and I paid around 400 quid for mine, so I wasn't really wanting to buy another, assuming I could even find one. So I kind of shelved the entire thing. I did continue to work on the uniform though, as I figured I could still make a Spetsnaz loadout or something. I built up a decent SSG gearbox for my PP-19-01, and successfully modified it to take a Taginn Tag-015 launcher. These are ultra rare launchers from Taginn - lost of people know of the ML-36, but the Tag-015 is the AK variant. It was only made in small batches, and was rather quickly discontinued due to lack of interest from the community. Taginn launchers are kind of ridiculously expensive, even though they are worth it, and more people run guns with under-mounted RISs than people run AKs, by a large margin. Plus the ML-36 has a standalone kit. However I happened across a sale of one that was leaking, for around 300 quid. A steal in my book, and all it took was a quick replacement/restoration of the o-rings inside. Some external modification was needed - the LCT PP-19-01 is a short barreled gun and doesn't have a standard AK front sight block. But I added a barrel extension and cut it just enough to fit the launcher. I also use larger batteries than can fit in the upper receiver, so I had a custom battery tube made that fits inside of the Zenitco stock. Finally I have a real Kobra sight that came off my real steel KR-9 to use as its optic. The gun is now perfectly fieldable and fits two three preferred roles; SMG and AT. Again, my whole point of this kit was to simultaneously keep as close to the character as possible, but accept modifications to actually make the kit usable at a weekend-long MilSim. However I am not entirely happy with it, and am actually making a Titan build that I will likely replace it with. My Maruzin PPK/S was replaced by a bronze-kitted Maruzin PPK. Its slightly longer than the PPK/S, and 100% cooler looking. I also finished my vest setup - it now allows for 6 PP-19-01 mags (8 total with the two in the gun), two PPK mags, two TRMRs, a SWAT VTG, 5 Taginn rounds, radio, genuine Soviet canteen (not gonna ever drink out of that lol), and a satchel on the back for an HPA tank and bladder. I bought a few more uniforms - my Chechen ATACs is cold-weather gear, and we don't really get that here in the Southern US. I now have Berezka, Partizan, Fall Partizan, EMR, and Desert EMR (I can't find the official name for the pattern, but its an arid variant of EMR). I also got a second Maska-1 and painted it to somewhat match the Fall Partizan pattern. At this point my kit was fully fieldable. At this point I thought I was done. I had a few options for a Russian loadout, and could even use it at MilSims for both sides. The Tachanka dream could be laid to rest...until last week... Im browsing HopUp (a popular sellers forum here in the US), and come across a sale post for a working Echo1 ZB-30, for 200 quid. It was missing its charging handle, and more importantly its butt-pad. A quick search shows both parts - as well as replacement internals - can be bought online. So I bought the gun, and The Lord lives again! A new charging handle assembly, butt-pad, and metal flash hider (original was plastic) were ordered soon after. The gun arrived yesterday, and the other parts should be here Tuesday. In the meantime I took measurements and begun CADing for the mag adapter. I didn't want to do anything too permanent, as I'd like the ability to keep this thing as a ZB-30/MG-30 if desired. So far it looks like it'll be either a 2 or 3 part print; the first is ready for printing (I didn't get much sleep last night haha). However my printer is being a PITA right now, so I'm sort of on hold for now. Ill keep y'all updated!
  24. Ive got enough guns as it is haha. I also prefer the LSW variant over the standard; I do mostly MilSims where theres an actual advantage to having a LMG.
