hmmm, think i'm changing my opinion on lct....

I've heard enough about lemons from both sides to be fair, only ever purchased/used LCTs but had a go with E&Ls and they've both been great. I think the best bet is to lean to whatevers cheapest and that tends to be E&L now that Nuprol have price hiked the LCTs, fire support is no longer my go to for 'premium' AK shopping like it has been 😐
Can't you just unscrew the hop and push it forward? I'm pretty sure I can do that with my 74u to get at the gearbox without removing the outer barrel, etc.

LEVEL UP YEAAAAAAAHHHHHHH
although not sure how happy i am being a collaborator. makes me sound like i'm french.

Hmm, should i paint the f2000 olive?
-
well, turns out the mg is using a standard v2 tappet plate, which is awesome because it seems to want to eat them

i appreciate the advice, i get what you're saying that the tappet plate could be hitting the cylinder and stretching it.
there's no tappet "window" on this box per say, it's a really strange design (a 2 peice split with the handguard being it's own unit with all the gears and the top being a big rectangular box with the cylinder/tappet)
the brass clip is more like a washer- it's mounting hole is dead centre and there's about 2.5-3mm extra draw, and it's coupled with the longest nozzle i've seen on an AEG (think double m4 length)
like i say, gun is bone stock, i wouldn't even have had it apart if it hadn't eaten the tappet plate (after about 15k rounds), so atm i'm suspecting either a weak tappet plate or too strong a return spring being the main culprits.
only other possibility is given the handguard unit is a seperate peice maybe it slid out of position when being carried and made the difference.

The window I refer to is how that 7mm or 8mm sits and allows feed/sealing
if you had a nozzle too short you will have lovely feeding but $hit seals
if you had a nozzle that was too long you get great seals but $hit feeding
so all this crap is about ensuring the nozzle is correct length
(which it probably is)
and then ensuring the "window" or where the tappet/nozzle moves
allows the correct "window" position of nozzle retracting/returning
if it is operating say more than 0.5mm out of whack/position
you will get either feed/seal issues
retracting tappet too far trying to compensate or increase stuff
runs the risk of smashing crap out of tappet if not checked
or at the very least wearing out the fin very very quickly
That window wasthe where there 7 or 8mm movement is sitting bang on
not a rear inspection window like many v2's have
ensuring it all operates within the correct position/window/tolerance etc...
-
yeah, it's a very long nozzle due to the hop design, and i suspect they have the long stroke on the tappet to keep feeding issues down, not sure why it's such a strong spring as it's not like it needs to deal with midcaps.
she shoots and feeds incredibly well, so it's safe to assume they're right with the nozzle/stroke combination. although i still think the spring is way too strong which might be why it died.
we'll see how this new plate works out, and if it eats that one i'll swap the spring out for a weaker one and check it's not bottoming out

well, vsr has gone from working to not working, think the sear is worn just past the edge of holding properly.

Well I spent around £100 getting an ex Thundermaul JG M4 up n running only to find it was way too hot. I have a spring to downgrade it but I'm dreading splitting another JG gearbox, because when the Sig packed in after half a day from my attempt to degunk the gear box of that JG earwax they use and is now in pieces with a jammed trigger.
Good job I bought the 417 🤣

oh god *flashbacks of working on the jg aksu*
some designs are better than others, the mg and the f2000 are absolute dreams to work on, the mg splits into 2 bits and is easy removed, and the f2000 is all modular so you just strip to get the bits you need.
as far as i'm concerned quick release mainsprings and trigger retention screws should be mandatory.

so, ummm
this is a thing:

the f2000 runs a different cutoff lever to the p90, it's basically the same trigger unit but on the back left side of the gearbox.
to clarify it does run on semi but jams up if you try to double tap, not so much a problem outdoors as you just give em a burst.
ironically the ak has the opposite problem, if only i could average out my issues lol

urgh, dat heat.....

now back in the cupboard for the next year.....

@Asomodai it's 12:1 and all
as for the style, i'm still not sure, i kind of want to find a barrel clamp to run the 2dp as i'd rather run the normal forend than the current rail+afg combo that's on there atm.
fortunately i'm hopefully redeeming myself with the optics- got a 1p67 on order should keep both camps happy......

welp, finally being let out to play again this weekend and just not feeling excited.
guess i'm worried that the flood-gates opening will leave some poor sportsmanship for a month or so before it all settles down.
-
Welp, knew it would be bad, went anyway, expectations exceeded

there comes a point in a man's life when he thinks "i need a kobra"

great days pewing today, one of the most fun days i've had for a good while despite rentals trying to activate godmode, problem is godmode vs my ak still loses
-
Fuckin spiders man.
If you dont hear from me after a few days i've either died from sleep deprevation, accidental incineration or radiation poisoning.
This is no guarantee of my success so i reccommend relocation to an extrasolar location just to be sure.
-
Well, m4's dead again, gonna have to see what went on it, thinking theres gonna be a lot of metal shards in there.
-
Anyone have issues with noveske style amps with 24mm thread? Bought one recently didnt come with a 14mm adapter and it aint fitting the jg/cyma/lct ones i've tried.
-
urgh, dreading sunday, it's last chance saloon for this site and i'm expecting the perfect storm of cheaters, speedsofters and inneffective marshals.
sadly it's the only decent outdoor site left that doesnt require a 6am start to get to.

escarmouche, tis in ni, i'll maybe write a review depending on how it goes. it's a shame because it's got so much potential if they put a bit of effort into properly marshalling the place, they've got a good thing going but the last 4 sessions it's been the same story of people not taking hits descending into anarchy, and a session shouldn't be something to dread.
still, hope springs eternal, i'm not the only one who feels this way and we're going to let them know it's one last chance to see some pro-active game control.

not sure i'm down with e&l's new method of preventing you from losing the magazine baseplate.....

hmmm, kwc magazine valves seem hard to find.....

Knocker valve for their blowback makarov.
Was trying to figure out why mine kept leaking and realised it had somehow caved in at the front.
Figured if imma try and sell it better to have it as working (well, "worked last time i tried to fire it")
Only place ive found even has it listed is begadi and its out of stock
-
Nah, totally different mechs.
The kwc is basically a 4.5mm co2 airgun conversion which normally comes stupid hot out of the box (mine was downgraded by the forum member i bought it off). Its not even the same as other kwc valves (particularly the 1911 which is the only kwc valve you can find easily)
Only bought it as a winter gun to stand in for the WE.

why can't i stop buying stuff for the m4 when what it really needs is a new motor....

I'm going for a lighter setup, so ive swapped the awesome but heavy vltor rail for an moe hanguard so i bought a gas block rail so i can still attatch the bipod and i've also decided to get a proper flip to side mount rather than the qd mount i have for the magnifier.
Also an sa80 sling so i dont have to constantly switch the one off the f2000
-
I'm rear wired, because its bad enough dissassembling a king arms m4 without front wiring, but its made the gun so much more pointable.
Meanwhile the f2000 still isnt feeding, the sig is shooting harder than most rifles, the 1911 is still leaking gas and the mg has eaten its own tappet plate.
Airsoft life eh?
