I know... as I typed it I looked at my pews and thought I don't need this big a collection either, the difference in my mind is... I can look at & enjoy my pews but a gun case is really a thing to carry them 10 feet from my front door to the boot of my car, I'll end up getting one eventually but it's low on my list of airsoft priorities (for now). One of these would be nice...3 points -

It was horrible getting into your boxer shorts elastic. Then you'd sit in the van and grind it into your waist skin. Made even worse when you got back in the seat the next morning, only to get the remnants pushed back into your skin again. Ggggrrrrrr2 points -
Ooh, now that is nice. I'm sort of lucky that i only have 4 pews, for now, and dont really have anywhere to keep them in the house so putting thw3m in cases where i can then stash them out of the way makes sense. I do, as of Saturday, have a spare bedroom so I think that might become 'The Gun Room' with them on display. Then i can add more. 😁2 points

Hi all, ended up going into my local shop and have purchased a Tm desert warrior, used it on a skirmish on Sunday and I’m happy with it ! Only slight drawback is it’s only doing 2/3rds of a magazine of bb’s on a gas fill, any advice on that or just grab another mag ? As it’s a bit tedious going back to the safe zone to refill between games. I now realise why people get the hi capa but I really like the colours and design of this one !! thanks for all your help1 point

A smear of silicon grease can do wonders there. 1.3J from an M100 and a stock (but stretched-and-greased) CYMA gearbox and nozzle. Yes, quivering on the edge of a Section 5. The difference between nearly sealed and really sealed is remarkable.1 point

A business near me (non airsoft, furniture), has a separate website for their returns or slightly damaged stuff, where the explicitly state items purchased there are non returnable & you should be prepared for possible small issues with items, but in fairness the price are reduced massively, maybe 25% of the original rrp or even less. My granddaughter needed a bigger bed, & they were advertising fancy sleigh bed returns for about 10% of the rrp, I popped in to their warehouse to pick one up, the guy brought 3 big unopened boxes out, BRAND NEW, never touched perfect condition, for 25 quid, result😃 My work here is done🤪1 point

Air seal as stock on many guns is pretty bad. Just a case of eliminating it step by step. Piston head to cylinder, cylinder to cylinder head, cylinder head to air nozzle (always bad with those plastic ones!) and air nozzle to hop up rubber. With a good air seal I have got 1.05J from an M90 spring1 point

I tend to stick to Gunman filmsim or milsim type events BUT... I know who's going, and they're a chill lot. Any amateur RSM attempts are squished and the culprits either learn to behave or tend to drift away. They're great fun with the right people.1 point -

Esstac kiwi’s tall or mid rise. Excellent retention. If you are using bungied pouches, especially with heavier mags, the bungie needs to be tight enough that you have to positively pull it to get the mag out. If you are staying with the original pouches you can increase the friction by adding grip tape to the mag.1 point -

Wolf armouries is a great example, not only did they have a shit eating attitude, I remember a young member on another forum contacting me for advice, long time ago pre vcra, explaining how he'd put a pistol in for repair & when he went to pick it up he was told "you've already collected it", his response was "no I haven't", & Wolf refused to accept they had given it to the wrong person, or alternatively one of the arsehole staff had lifted it ?1 point

Gun picture thread

Oh myyy......😍 I haven't been following this, but I'm gonna go back and find details! Anyway... This isn't that exciting when it comes to gun pictures, but I'm a happy boy and had to share. Last year I gave a friend my cheapy Cyma SVD, for servicing and upgrading. Then life got in the way. I got a rotator cuff injury, he lost his driving licence (illness, not booze), and what with one thing and another he's had it ever since. On Sunday I got it back. Full steel rack piston, 110 spring, different piston head, new hop rubber, hop nub, new set of bushings for the gears, combat union hop. Its kicking .3s out around 1.4 to 1.5 joules. I'm on site tomorrow, to continue with our site overhaul, and I'll be giving her a real test for range. Now all I need is an SVD sling.1 point -

XXL Helmet recommendation please
Ian Bru reacted to AirsoftTed for a topic
Second this. I’ve previously had to stick to MICH type helmets and cut the pads in half. I did manage to find some off the market thinner than usual pads that worked with a fast helmet for me before but having recently done exactly as above I can confirm it’s the best fitting and most comfortable option I’ve tried.1 point -

My loadout from Sundays game, that @Skullcheweralready posted about in "how did your airsoft day go?". It's subtle, but you might be able to make out my favourite outfit colour. Not shown: 2 radios on my back as I was squadleader. Also not shown: me getting a headache from having to decypher what two different channels are trying to tell me at the same time. 😂1 point -

Your system draws a lot of current then. I run 7,4v 1450mAh 30c batteries in my M4s and my average BB consumption per game day is about 2000 (say 5/6 fully depleted Lonex Flash Mags). The battery tester I use says that with the above conditions I get my battery from 99/98% charge down to 30ish, now I don't know that the percentage refers to, but all things considered I think my builds are at okay efficiency.. All this in full auto for the most part. Also keep in mind that semi auto fire draws way more than full auto, the current required to get the motor going is much higher than the current needed to keep the motor going once it's already spinning. It's not hard to imagine that thirsty motor + semi spam will deplete an average sized battery in a short time, but 500 shots is definitely a sign that something needs addressed in your gun. p.s. I'm confident I have butchered every electrical term and principle with this comment, sorry, I build houses and survey the land, not an electrician/electrical engineer1 point
