    Stolen Kit!

I note that you didn’t answer my question. You cannot just make sweeping statements about the Met not being interested in recovering real firearms without being able to back them up. I do live in London. Your views about the police are not representative of what they actually do and the issues that they face on a daily basis. My eldest son’s partner is an officer in the Met and I also regularly deal with Met officers relating to a range of cases. They are not the Mayor’s personal army; they are regularly dealing with appalling situations and deserve the support of the population, rather than regurgitated nonsense.

    Stolen Kit!

Moral of the story is, don't leave expensive kit in your vehicles, theft from vehicles has been rife for decades, particularly in the big cities, blaming the current negative perception of policing is just a cop out, no pun intended, I've never heard of a vehicle being broken in to that didn't have something of interest visible to passing scrotes.

    Stolen Kit!

How do you know that recovering real weapons is not on the Met’s agenda? Comparing the Met with the NKVD demonstrates a complete lack of knowledge of what the NKVD did and is utterly insulting to Met officers. The NKVD was responsible for a vast number of killings, along with torture and other crimes.

The new agency arms slides just landed on my doorstep today ?? pretty happy with the first one! shamless plug, but I’ve started recording some of the tech work I do, and as a result, I’m in the process of publishing a few tech videos on the gen5 MOS. Have a look and let me know if you lot think it’s helpful?

    Stolen Kit!

They have closed your case in the sense that they are not actively pursuing your specific break in. That means the items are recorded ready for anything that turns up in their general business Closing the case has no bearing on whether or not the goods will be recovered at a later date - the information recorded has the potential to identify items found with someone as stolen Have a sensible conversion with your parents. How far would they have gone into a car break in with stolen goods? Some finger prints and recording the case with a potential flagging of the usual suspects? Or would they stop any explicit pursuit of a single break in on the basis that could direct to an offender after 24 hours would lead to someone who no longer has the goods? I note that you have made reference to ‘dark humour’ Dark humour laughs at the taboo, it doesn’t mean comparing the norm to the taboo. It also still needs to be funny, and for a joke to be funny it needs to have a twist, usually being close to the truth. Your NKVD reference would have only worked if the Met closed your case in 24 hours with the first person in sight, not that they aren’t actively pursuing.

  11. Years ago the usually correct advice was to avoid shops with bb in the name as they sold cheap unskirmishable crap. Over the past decade or so many of these shops have started to stock better guns too and can be quite competitive in price at times if you know what you're after. Just dont fall for the trick they often pull of inflating the original RRP so the "sale" price looks better

I knew a guy whose upgraded Thompson had a legendary rate of fire, but was problematical because the magazine springs couldn't feed fast enough to keep up. The days when you just put a 9.6v and a 1j spring in a marui and ran it till the gearbox exploded...

    Trouble with PayPal

Aah, his first paypal transaction, that explains it, you need to make sure he's sent your items, he's not likely to see any money until you receive what you're owed. Explain this to him & tell him he'll have to add tracking details to the transaction info on PayPal, showing his parcelforce48 reference number.

  20. The problem is that every individual rifle is different because "Airsoft Tolerances". One person could have a completely different experience with the exact same rifle. Airsoft QC is crap and it doesnt necessarily get better the more you pay. You could look on the classifieds for something that has a better spec and in theory, because it's been used before you at least know it works. But you could also have a seller that is lying to you. Buying new you could end up with a lemon and you have to attempt to send it back, but many Airsoft shops will fight tooth and nail to blame the fault on you. As an example, (And a shameless plug). I am selling a New Old Stock Dytac M4 for £140, Aluminium Reciever, very solid build, its essentially a gussied up Cyma. I have fired it to make sure it works, but beyond that, I wouldn't provide any warranty as a private sale. But the price is about 60% of the new price that a shop would charge, but they in theory provide a warranty. So it's priced accordingly. There are no guarantees. And be prepared to pay extra on top to get issues fixed and parts replaced.

To me it looks sus, most of the sellers ads go back 6-8 months, if hes actually sold anything previously then surely he's already completed paypals usual probation period ?, unless there have been issues previously ?.

    Quick Change Spring

Yup, you're at about 0.8J which is pretty poor (unless you're a Tokyo Marui true believer). You can throw in a stronger spring, although you're putting more stress on the components than by improving the air seal. If you are going to just up-spring, and if that 0.8J and M90 are accurate, and you have a chrono available, I'd go to an M105 or M110. If you come out hot, you can cut a coil off, or just heat and flatten a coil with a gas flame.

    Trouble with PayPal

PS Who suggested a ‘payment link’? This sets off more alarm bells. A scammer can produce dodgy links to harvest your PayPal password, your card/bank details etc There are valid ways and reasons for someone to create a specific PayPal invoice, or a general PayPal link, but these are also options for a scammer to produce fake links PayPal is designed for one PayPal user to pay another - the person sending a payment just needs the email address/phone number of the recipient PayPal invoices are designed for a business to produce an invoice but with the feature that the person sending payment does not have to have a PayPal account - you type in your card details - which is also a reason why fraudsters like to fake PayPal invoices

    Quick Change Spring

It depends on which AEG you have but if you're referring to your LT-32, you should only need to remove the butt stock and buffer tube (with a bolt in the tube) to access the QCS where a hex head should push in the spring guide at the back of your gearbox, where you'd do a quarter turn to release the guide and spring. Whether an M100, M95 or M105, etc, by the same brand would be suitable depends a lot on how good your compression is with the cylinder.

Sorry to hear that. It's genuinely infuriating. It's not weird at all that airsoft helps with depression. It's like going to the gym or any other activity that releases endorphins. I hope you get it all back.

    Bolster AEGS

From the little bit I've picked up about AEG internals over the years, I'd venture to perhaps say that these guns are right about on the edge of how far most people should probably go along that ever-flattening curve. With the caveat that some people are all about tweaking their gun internals to the absolute max and more power to them; I do the same thing but with kit. The parts lists on the example I checked out are similar to what Negative Airsoft Luke tends to do, and the fact they're putting them in CYMAs narrows the gap even further. Nothing wrong with that it's seemingly a very good formula as long as the person/s doing the work actually understand the nuances of our cheapy toy gats (which are bloody expensive). I've had many guns worked on by Luke now and there's no denying that they spoil you, it can be hard to go back to stock once you've tasted that sweet trigger response. Won't make a ton of difference in the woods vs a good quality stock gun that's not absolutely battered and with quality bbs, clean barrel and a properly set hop-up, but the end result sounds super nice.

  28. I've never personally seen a positive review of any of these events, not denying some might exist but I've only come across scathingly negative reports. I'm honestly shocked to the point of comedy that they're still going ? I feel like they're only saved by the fact that there's very, very little else in terms of options for big weekend games that aren't leet-hardcore muh-imershuns MiLsiM which will entice people to go to the expense and effort of significant travel; especially given the rare and unusual sites they somehow (??) manage to obtain usage of. I don't run sites, zero experience in that area, but the impression I get is that people who have done it for years are constantly tweaking their layouts and games to make best use of the physical area available. They usually start off with at least minor issues, often major ones, but if they refine the site over time they've got a chance of keeping a place going long term. Hence, I would personally have pretty much no expectations of an unusually large game running even close to smoothly at any location that's never been used for airsoft before. That's no dig at all at people who go along to such things, I also really want to play at disused theme parks, prisons, forts etc, way more appealing than yet another patch of flat woodland with some plastic sheet stapled to pallets. Just an issue with this type of game organisation that I can't really foresee being overcome.

The RIF I wanted so bad, that when I joined these forums 20+ years ago, my username was 'Bison Hunter' ?. I got a custom made from a TM Beta Spetsnaz but it wasn't really skirmishable. Then I quit the hoppy and came back 15 years later to find that Bizons had basically been and gone... until Patrol Base got some stock in at the same time I got a work bonus. I've had it 3 weeks and decided I wanted to remove the stock completely and cover the exposure at the back. This required an adaptor that itself required some angle grinder attention. But now with the RK-3 grip, B-13 mount (both with funky Russian language on them), and PBS-1 can, it's almost my dream RIF. In lieu of a decent Kobra sight, I have a C More sight on the way, so the nasty one on here is a placeholder. First game on Sunday and I just can't wait! ?

  40. So a quick & dirty report now my 3.5" is here, thanks to Red Wolf. The bad - no manual or hop adjustment key. No markings, unless you have them done yourself. My local guy is primed .... The good - everything else! Hop is a bit fiddly to set - clockwise for more, anti-clockwise for less. *EDIT****** Chrono'd again with my Acetech 6000 Mkiii - I thought the values were way too high. Its absolutely beautiful - from the grips (unstained in my case - which is fine, I'm looking forward to working some bees wax into her), to the spinning chamber action (no other revolver really touches this) is stunning. Trigger pull I can't give you figures on but having shot a lot of real steel (pre-ban in the UK) it feels right. Very smooth, very smooth indeed. Its loud - anecdotely similar to the wingun. The shells make a lovely sound if you slot them in one by one into the chamber. Consitency is way and above wingun - see FPS below as a result I would happily take and get a body shot at 30m, maybe 40m. I need to test her in the field really Looks like that new shell design has paid off. Shells are lovely (R-P 357 Magnum - "Remington-Peters" 357 Magnum). I haven't tried the moonclips - I'm running her with HKS 586-A speedloadeers on my belt as a secondary sidearm loadout. Love the way they resemble a copper plate bullet. The shells fit in a wingun speedloader but .... you end up with some shells in your chamber/some not. I could play around with them and work out how to get everything lined up ... but why dress lamb as mutton? Fits my 686 leather holster with thumb snap for the hammer perfectly. Hops .3s with no problem - I think you could go heavier but I don't see any advantage as 0.3 means I use the same weight in all my sidearms. For my use, I think the 3.5" is a perfect balance between portability, weight & accuracy. I'd love to see what the 5/6" versions are like (possibly with a different finish although the silver is really special) & the other grip options. The longer barreled models are going to be (legal!) hand cannons I think. Quite excited by the prospect! Very happy with her - I'd say this is by far & away the best revolver I've used in a long line from Tanaka, Marushin & Wingun. Shells are a must for me - you really cannot beat the feel & buzz of using them in combat. Hopwise this is best I've seen, closely followed by the old 8mm Marushin, Tanaka SAA adjustable then coming a fair way behind, Wingun. Further behind still, Tanaka fixed. So 6 shots, .3 ASG Blaster Devil BBs, 19°C, slow count of 5 between shots. 1: 227 2: 235 3: 229 4: 230 5: 231 6: 233 Average = 230 which is 282 FPS with 0.2 equivalent. So sight legal & really consistent Some rubbish camera phone pictures attached, full review post skirmish day (or 2) to follow.

Got mine from Octagon Airsoft, trades are lasered on. They are really nice weapons, as heavy as my deactivated S&W .357, even has the red insert in the front sight post. Quality is good feels great in the hand, finger grooves in the grip are a bit small but then I have big hands. Shoots really well, nice crack on each shot. Can’t fault them really, I think close, it has the correct weight and you can load the shells which you can’t on a Tanaka

  43. Ahoy and welcome. I think you'll fit in well here. Sounds like some weird nerd stuff. Maaaaaaybe. The definition of a RIF is that it has an appearance that is so realistic as to make it indistinguishable, for all practical purposes, from: (a) a firearm of an actual make or model of modern firearm (whether existing or discontinued); or (b) something falling within a description which could be used for identifying, by reference to their appearance, the firearms falling within a category of actual modern firearms which, even though they include firearms of different makes or models (whether existing or discontinued) or both, all have the same or a similar appearance. What makes and models of actual ray guns currently exist, or are discontinued? ?
