Latest edition to my pistol collection. Wiitech make an aluminium slide with steel threaded barrel. looks fantastic with a comp and also takes a light weight tracer unit with no problems.3 points -

After a long time out of being online I decided to get back into things like World of Warcraft and other online bits and bobs. I didn't want to reuse all my old names though, I sat down staring at my screen for about half an hour... Jamsandwich just popped into my head and I've used it ever since. Sometimes its taken and I go with Jamsandwich4u, but its unusual enough that I still like to use it and it still gets the odd comment. Every now and then I bump into a Hamsandwich but they're few and far between! Unfortunately, some people are determined to call me James...that's not my name.3 points -
I’m guessing most people here are familiar with Black Hawk Down, so mine’s probably pretty obvious. But, for those that don’t know, Super64 was the call sign of Micheal Durant’s MH-60 Black Hawk during Operation Gothic Serpent, the second Black Hawk to be shot down, which then became the location of Gary Gordon and Randy Shughart’s heroic action. I’ve always been interested in aviation as well as military equipment, and I’ve always admired the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment. So, when I was looking for a username for the airsoft forums, Super64 just seemed to fit.3 points

Heads up, I’ve now tried 5 different slides (Proarms, detonator x 2, mafioso and wiitech) for the gen5 and so far the Wiitech seems to be the winner (depending on what you want from a pistol). It comes with steel rails to protect the aluminium body from wear. it also comes with a steel fluted threaded barrel and a matching 6.03 brass TBB. The comps and thread protectors are pretty fairly priced as well. The kit is drop in (although you’ll need to slightly modify the sights if you have pro arms tritium supressor sights). it’s also in the midrange of slide prices. Mine was £170 inc shipping (so £200 after tax). The detonator slides and mafiosio were far more expensive. I’ve also got a near identical mafioso steel slide G17.5. The kit is fantastic quality and comes with a full assembled guide rod specifically for the slide set. its a heavy slide but the gen5 gas system moves is scarily easily. It recoils faster than some of my gen3s with aluminium slides. Both G17.5s have the same internals: -CCT piston lid -CCT spring set - Wiitech 200% recoil springs - Wiitech steel recoil rod - Wiitech aluminium recoil spring cage - JDG magwell - Proarms tritium sights2 points -

Brilliant day at Imperium - perhaps my bestestest airsoft day ever. It was one of their 'Cartel' games, with three factions (police, taskforce & cartel) all vying to prevent/control/run a drugs smuggling operation. The roleplaying element with specific RoE for each faction made the day feel really different from your typical skirmish without the eight hours lying in a trench of a milsim. A real highlight for me was leading a four man patrol that snuck into the cartel CP and pinched all the gear while they were out attacking another objective. By far the best bit of the day though, was that I think it's the first time I've gone the whole day without hearing any cheat calling. No one was accused of not taking hits. No one was accused of being hot. No dodgy medics, no hiding from 'nades behind bushes, no dead men talking. Just a really well played and well marshalled day.2 points

Played at Special Ops HQ - the fireplace in Milton Keynes on Friday night. It was a rare opportunity for a night game as I’m not normally in area on a Friday night. I spent the whole night trying not to get shot in the face, thinking about the wedding photos for my friend… instead of getting shot in the face, someone got a good angle and I was shot in the “two veg”… I was then shot a few more times because my hand wasn’t raised 😂 Anyway, it was an awesome night and a good indoor venue - I’d highly recommend giving the site a visit. I ran my GHM9-G and a few TM glocks - I’m very impressed with the GHM9 and loved that one type of magazine serviced both RIFs 👍🏽1 point -

Well if we can have a Watches thread (which I like), then let's have one for geeeeeeeetars too, as they can lovely things to behold and meddle with. I am a pleased-as-punch recent purchaser of this: PRS SE CE 24 in Blood Orange If only I could play it as well as it deserves! (This is my 5th guitar, purchased over a span of nearly 40 years, and I've only just got vaguely to grips with rhythm. Lead is a complete no-no. I suck!) PRS really do a fantastic job on build quality, even on their cheaper guitars (like this one). And it plays so easily, it's really nicely set up straight from the box. I might invest in a set of locking tuners on it, the 9 gauge strings are shifting tune as my 'office' room is a bit of a sweatbox at the moment. And those skinny strings are slicing up the ends of my fingers a bit - though that might be because I'm just playing it too much Anyway, share some pics of your beauties1 point -

Just as above really. I've had to stick with the original barrel and air nozzle and it's working fine now. Looks to just be a design flaw on Jing gongs end. All the other barrels I have currently seem to be approximately 22.5mm to the C-clip notch, so that's my only option currently. If I can get a hold of a marui hop unit then I'll see if there's any difference in dimensions that would allow me to use a better barrel, but for now it's doing ok. Took it out to a game yesterday and it ran fine with no issues. Currently sporting a new paint job to boot!1 point

Nothing needs to be done. Do NOT spray any lubricant into the magazine. If its not feeding properly then there is a problem with the mechanism and may need disassembly.1 point -

Gah, this is turning into an epic. I've gotta reorganize the entire garage to get the CBR in and I appear to have accumulated more crap than a crap magnet! I've spent all day sorting it out and on my second run to the dump! Like my airsoft stuff, I have too much of it. 😂 Wife's not happy either but meh, she'll live.😁1 point

Lol, we'll done, I've often thought about starting a similar thread when I've seen some fairly obscure usernames. Mine came from being a young squaddie in the early eighties, my surname is Dewberry, & was a big lad from a young age (6ft at 11), bigger than the recruits around me, & would get lumbered with the biggest gun, gimpy or bren usually. Around the same time police academy came out at the cinema, next thing I know one of the DS made the comparison between me & the films character Tackleberry, big guy with the biggest gun, & they stopped calling me Dewberry, Tackleberry was born👶1 point -
