You've got two posts, & no feedback, irrespective of your situation, as unfortunate as it may be, we try to look out for everyone on here, in much the same way if someone else was selling the same deal & you were thinking about buying, we would happily comment if we thought it looked like a risky transaction, & hopefully stop you losing your money. Don't take it personally, it ain't, it's just some red flags have to be mentioned for the good of everyone.7 points -

Headed to a reenactment event last weekend and picked up an original fibreglass heat shield for an M14 (Been looking for one, for years) but sadly no M14 as I broke the Cyma one trying to upgrade it (Oops… may make an appearance as a boneyard project soon 😂) Popped into my local shop yesterday and was informed the G&G M14 could be acquired with some magazines (Regretted selling my veteran but couldn’t get mags at the time) - Collected it from them today and it’s so beautiful 😍 Sadly plastic stock but it doesn’t feel that bad.4 points

Morning, I'm an old, out of shape player that's just got back into Airsoft. I have a few guns from back when, sadly one which is a 90s gas gun didn't work after the first shot. But my newer ics mp5 still managed to last an entire game. I'm hoping to get it serviced soon as it was a bit low on the chrono. Things have certainly changed from when my friends and I used to head into the local woods and just game there. Already reading up on an the helpful advice posted on here. Looking forward to me next game 👍3 points -

Well if we can have a Watches thread (which I like), then let's have one for geeeeeeeetars too, as they can lovely things to behold and meddle with. I am a pleased-as-punch recent purchaser of this: PRS SE CE 24 in Blood Orange If only I could play it as well as it deserves! (This is my 5th guitar, purchased over a span of nearly 40 years, and I've only just got vaguely to grips with rhythm. Lead is a complete no-no. I suck!) PRS really do a fantastic job on build quality, even on their cheaper guitars (like this one). And it plays so easily, it's really nicely set up straight from the box. I might invest in a set of locking tuners on it, the 9 gauge strings are shifting tune as my 'office' room is a bit of a sweatbox at the moment. And those skinny strings are slicing up the ends of my fingers a bit - though that might be because I'm just playing it too much Anyway, share some pics of your beauties2 points -

and round is most definitely a shape. You totally beat me to it there!! Hello & welcome!! As has been said, a lot of us are old gits here and what is it with 'music' nowadays, it's all disposable throw-away rubbish that's got even less longevity than Liz Truss. What happened to bands who play actual instruments and write music? That said there's pockets of yoof who appreciate proper music, was very pleased to see some at a recent Smashing Pumpkins gig proper singing along to songs easily twice their age. Even the dance music in the 90's was better!2 points -

Plenty of threads already on sorting out the power and various issues. It could be the cylinder (doubt it, that thing should be good up to 360mm barrels), it could be the nozzle timing, nozzle length, nozzle air seal, hop unit fitment, hop rubber lips, general compatibility between these parts. Could be the tappet plate, delayer chip, tappet plate spring, tappet plate compatibility with the gearbox shell, number of teeth removed off the sector gear..... All the info we have is the cylinder size and barrel length.. I reckon it's time to write an article on the matter and then copypasta it everywhere....2 points
-
I'd suspect the nozzle-to-hop rubber seal. All we know so far is that it's (probably) a V2 box, we don't know the nozzle length, the hop unit, or the rubber that you're using. Maple Leafs have longer lips than some other rubbers, that might help, or you might need a longer nozzle, or it might very well be something entirely different. Airsoft, innit.2 points

A quick Google search shows these go for £260 new so if it was in good condition and wasn't a repainted 2 tone the 70% rule of thumb would put the asking price at £189. Unfortunately though with the issues already mentioned that's going to knock it down further so is say £130 sounds about right2 points -
CQB questions
Wegalaxy reacted to Dan Robinson for a topic
Had a cracking day at a CQB site where I ran a Glock with a few mags for most of the day. I'm a bit of a unit, so just running a pistol made me a bit more nimble than usual. Favourite kill of the day was headshotting an enemy at point bank range (he had a helmet) after sneaking round behind him. Had enough time to do a Clarence Bodica vs Alex Murphy "nananana nanananana nananananana BOOM" move too 😁. It's all down to how you play. Oh and I'm a tight arse, and see no point using anything more than 0.2s indoors. It's not like you need to punch through a hedge or adjust for cross winds.1 point -

I have got a Jaydee Oldboy on order, build slot is about 12 months away yet ! Copy of Iommi's main guitar , made by the same people that make his , can't wait ! It'll be a trip up to Birmingham to collect it and have a look around the workshop.1 point -

The SHS nozzles I bought a while ago were supposed to be 21.3 but they turned out to be 21.5 and change.. Length also depends on the hop unit, hop rubber and inner barrel, some combinations love short nozzles, others want longer. For example the Maxx TE hop I have in my pdw says it wants 21.25mm tops but ran fine on the aforementioned 21.5mm shs nozzle for a while.1 point

Well, new plate fitted (oem) and we appear to be back up and running at 1.26 joules. Have a company looking to produce me some POM ones because I'm pretty sure it's me running g 11.1v batteries increasing the ROF that's caused it. The gun never seems happy on 7.4s. Retro Arms aren't doing their ones. Will see how thr stl file I got works with the on replacement, then tak it from there.....anyone Interested in a POM on? I assume price per unit goes down with more made.1 point -

Low fps could it be cylinder related?
Rogerborg reacted to Pollynator_bravo2 for a topic
So it’s a V2 gear box, Maple leaf 60 degree bucking, no delay chip, 13:1 gears, 18000 ASG motor, Rocket v2 tappet plate, SHS nozzle 21.4mm, Gate EON protector cylinder head, EON Power hybrid cylinder head. Hop unit looks like a basic rotary unit but it was what come with the shell/receiver when I brought it second hand. The hop unit I used to run when fitted to the inner barrel, wouldn’t let the upper receiver fit all the way into the lower Reciever (this one has happened to me twice now so I’m wondering if some how I’ve made a school boy error when putting the upper back together) I’ll get the measurements on the inner barrel and some more pictures later1 point -

Skullchewer reacted to ASP383 for a topic
Not been playing for a while, due to company I worked for going into administration, but starting training on new job next week, so decided to Pop over to Driver Wood (Sussex) this morning with my lad to make use of their range and set up my Tac-41L and my lad's SA-FX01, both of which were bought the week before myself and the other 54 colleagues got our career news. My lad had a few issues with his FX-01, in that the BBs weren't feeding properly, luckily I'd had foresight to take my tool box with me, I noticed the ejection port cover wasn't exposing the hop adjuster when the charging bolt was pulled back, popped the pin out and moved the upper receiver forward, which must have pulled the barrel and hop forward to it's correct position (possibly assembly QC, but will keep open mind), this allowed it to feed better and I was able to adjust the hop, although stock, .28g is at max hop, so may look at .25g or different hop rubber in time. Mag still seemed not to be feeding properly, as though it was building tension on the feed spring, but not enough to feed correctly, as randomly decided to feed, however, I caught the tension release and blew a few BBs out, hey presto, feeding fine and quite surprised how many BBs it feeds now between needing to be wound. I've got 5x 100rd midcaps coming, which were ordered at same time, but were on back order, so hopefully they'll all feed OK out the box. My lad was then quite happy getting to grips with it and some practice with his pistol. With my lad sorted out now, I was able to turn my attention to my Tac-41L, heaviest BBs the shop had when I bought it, was .36g, so that is what I was using. Zeroed in my scope (as best I could, then set the hop and spent some time on targets at varying ranges. After a few mags, I checked it on my chrono, which came out at about 1.8j, so I decided to try the spare spring that comes with it, slight adjustment of hop and scope and all was good, ran through a few mags and checked on the chrono again 2.20j-2.23j across 10 shots (site limit 2.32j), so will have to keep an eye on that, just in case it starts creeping up, but luckily, barely a 5 minute job to swap back to the lower power spring if needed. As is, I pinged the furthest target with my range finder and was happy knowing I'll be able to take confident 75 yard shots. I was also able to buy a couple of Runcams, 1 for my M4 and 1 for the Tac-41L, just before we all got our work news, so no doubt be posting videos on my YT channel, although more for me to review to see if/where I can improve, hopefully, they'll be more entertaining that my beach fishing videos. Now I know regular money will be starting to come back into the house again next month, I'll probably be extravagant and book Sunday afternoon games.1 point -

It's been really great the way that AIrsoftWorld have handled this, and I hope they don't get hung out to dry by G&G. However, my primary concern is owners, who are out £400 for a paperweight that they've been told not to use until-and-if a fix is rolled out, while the clock is running on their right to reject. And a gen 1 (or 2 or 3 or 4) fix for gen 1 problems is often pushed out by marketing rather than engineering, so I'd be hesitant to trust anything rolled out in haste now. Frankly, I'd hope to see a recall of all guns sold, and (at minimum) a retailer fix applied. Because if they send out new grips to owners, and they still fail, then it might become a "Well, you must have fitted it wrong" wrangle. The longer you hang onto it, the harder it'll be to get your money back. tl;dr - if I'd bought one, it would be on the way back for a refund, no reasons given. Which suck for retailers, but it sucks more for owners.1 point

G&G LevAR 15
John_W reacted to Airsoft World for a topic
We agree. The grip is too brittle and should be either more flexible (nylon or polypropylene) or a rigid engineering polymer like Delrin. Or a decent metal/alloy. It is obvious that the stresses on the bolt that secures the grip is vastly increased with the weight and leverage physics of the stock and possibly the longer upper on the 15” model. There has been no reports of the shorty failing at all, which backs this theory. All three of our failed rifles were on green gas. The first one we filled, the other two verified by the customers, who we know and trust. Plus there were witnesses who confirmed… We did have the foresight to quadruple check all avenues before broadcasting such a damning post. We have no desire for being sued by G&G for one. Secondly, we now have 59 rifles to micro-manage towards a solution. Fun days!1 point -
G&G LevAR 15
John_W reacted to Airsoft World for a topic
For the record: There are other LevAR rifles that have had the same issue, so it’s not restricted to the one dealer and only one of the three rifles that ‘exploded’ was two tone painted. We rarely dismantle guns for two toning as was the case with this one. So just to clarify; none of the three rifles we sold were tampered with or altered in any way, other than one, which was simply masked and spray painted. We also received a response from G&G later today (Sunday) telling us that they knew of this issue last week. They also asked us to remove our Facebook post, which we obviously refused to do. So, have a think about what’s happened here please as these are the facts, which is very important.1 point -
Ive used alot of turnigy batteries over the years and they have been great. ive got some nuprols and they have been ok, but clearly a lower standard of battery ( not sure it matters for airsoft tho) Its not a good idea to store lipos at a low state of charge, but stored full they will just lose charge over time without any immediate issue. So charge your lipos after use, full or storage level... Ive used storage charging if im storing them.. ie for weeks or months, but not when they are in used weekly etc. Storage charging is just less stressful for a battery in the same way charging to 80% for normal use is less stressful and gives alot more cycles ( like a LOT more cycles) Ive got some life batteries that i have been using for years, 8 to 10 years maybe and they are still servicable, but they have lived a low stress life.1 point

Any site that plays semi only but allows hpa spam at a faster rate than most stock ages on full auto are just stupid. Same with the sudden aversion to tri-shots or gas shells. I had a site the other day tell me no moscart's at close range. The old mosquito mould 180's that are probably older than some players. Where else are you supposed to use them? You could probably throw a hand full of ammo harder but no, that's over kill. 7 rounds to the face though at dead on the limit in semi auto... Rock on! I don't care about trigger spam, that's how they have set up the gun. If they want to use that then groovy. What I do care about is a level playing field. If they are going to do that then the opposing player should be able to light them the fuck up.1 point
