You've got two posts, & no feedback, irrespective of your situation, as unfortunate as it may be, we try to look out for everyone on here, in much the same way if someone else was selling the same deal & you were thinking about buying, we would happily comment if we thought it looked like a risky transaction, & hopefully stop you losing your money. Don't take it personally, it ain't, it's just some red flags have to be mentioned for the good of everyone.7 points -

Headed to a reenactment event last weekend and picked up an original fibreglass heat shield for an M14 (Been looking for one, for years) but sadly no M14 as I broke the Cyma one trying to upgrade it (Oops… may make an appearance as a boneyard project soon 😂) Popped into my local shop yesterday and was informed the G&G M14 could be acquired with some magazines (Regretted selling my veteran but couldn’t get mags at the time) - Collected it from them today and it’s so beautiful 😍 Sadly plastic stock but it doesn’t feel that bad.4 points

Morning, I'm an old, out of shape player that's just got back into Airsoft. I have a few guns from back when, sadly one which is a 90s gas gun didn't work after the first shot. But my newer ics mp5 still managed to last an entire game. I'm hoping to get it serviced soon as it was a bit low on the chrono. Things have certainly changed from when my friends and I used to head into the local woods and just game there. Already reading up on an the helpful advice posted on here. Looking forward to me next game 👍3 points -

Well if we can have a Watches thread (which I like), then let's have one for geeeeeeeetars too, as they can lovely things to behold and meddle with. I am a pleased-as-punch recent purchaser of this: PRS SE CE 24 in Blood Orange If only I could play it as well as it deserves! (This is my 5th guitar, purchased over a span of nearly 40 years, and I've only just got vaguely to grips with rhythm. Lead is a complete no-no. I suck!) PRS really do a fantastic job on build quality, even on their cheaper guitars (like this one). And it plays so easily, it's really nicely set up straight from the box. I might invest in a set of locking tuners on it, the 9 gauge strings are shifting tune as my 'office' room is a bit of a sweatbox at the moment. And those skinny strings are slicing up the ends of my fingers a bit - though that might be because I'm just playing it too much Anyway, share some pics of your beauties2 points -

and round is most definitely a shape. You totally beat me to it there!! Hello & welcome!! As has been said, a lot of us are old gits here and what is it with 'music' nowadays, it's all disposable throw-away rubbish that's got even less longevity than Liz Truss. What happened to bands who play actual instruments and write music? That said there's pockets of yoof who appreciate proper music, was very pleased to see some at a recent Smashing Pumpkins gig proper singing along to songs easily twice their age. Even the dance music in the 90's was better!2 points -

Plenty of threads already on sorting out the power and various issues. It could be the cylinder (doubt it, that thing should be good up to 360mm barrels), it could be the nozzle timing, nozzle length, nozzle air seal, hop unit fitment, hop rubber lips, general compatibility between these parts. Could be the tappet plate, delayer chip, tappet plate spring, tappet plate compatibility with the gearbox shell, number of teeth removed off the sector gear..... All the info we have is the cylinder size and barrel length.. I reckon it's time to write an article on the matter and then copypasta it everywhere....2 points
-
I'd suspect the nozzle-to-hop rubber seal. All we know so far is that it's (probably) a V2 box, we don't know the nozzle length, the hop unit, or the rubber that you're using. Maple Leafs have longer lips than some other rubbers, that might help, or you might need a longer nozzle, or it might very well be something entirely different. Airsoft, innit.2 points

A quick Google search shows these go for £260 new so if it was in good condition and wasn't a repainted 2 tone the 70% rule of thumb would put the asking price at £189. Unfortunately though with the issues already mentioned that's going to knock it down further so is say £130 sounds about right2 points -
CQB questions
Wegalaxy reacted to Dan Robinson for a topic
Had a cracking day at a CQB site where I ran a Glock with a few mags for most of the day. I'm a bit of a unit, so just running a pistol made me a bit more nimble than usual. Favourite kill of the day was headshotting an enemy at point bank range (he had a helmet) after sneaking round behind him. Had enough time to do a Clarence Bodica vs Alex Murphy "nananana nanananana nananananana BOOM" move too 😁. It's all down to how you play. Oh and I'm a tight arse, and see no point using anything more than 0.2s indoors. It's not like you need to punch through a hedge or adjust for cross winds.1 point -
How long's a piece of string? It depends on the site and how trigger-happy you are. Even a friend of mine didn't go through a while large can on Nuprol green gas in a day of playing with a pistol as his primary. Hop-up is meant to create a small arc to allow the BBs to travel farther before they drop. It depends on the gun you use whether a heavier BB is beneficial as the hop on your particular gun may not be able to lift heavier BBs more readily for a desired range. In what respect? Context and not being vague matter. If you mean your shotgun and pistol, it depends more on he who wields than anything. Does your CQB site permit BFGs? Playing with only a pistol doesn't make you a speed softer in itself. Being a speedy boi may not lend well depending on what objectives you have for the site you play at or its rules of engagement. Whether you should play with only a pistol is a decision only you can make with trial and error.1 point

ICS L85 fps dropping
gavinkempsell reacted to Dan Robinson for a topic
Sadly this is in response to his pew suddenly dropping in performance with nothing changing. Learned a lesson though....I'm only changing one thing at a time. Next test is to swap the springs out between his and mine as there is nearly a year on his compared to mine, as its simple and non intrusive, but I'm pretty certain it's something between nozzle and barrel.1 point -

PRS make some stunning guitars., and thats a beute ! I'm an SG fan mainly. Hugely into Sabbath, here are my main 2. The Gibo has 2 Iommi custom pickups and the Epi has the same in the bridge. I have got a Jaydee Oldboy on order, build slot is about 12 months away yet ! Copy of Iommi's main guitar , made by the same people that make his , can't wait ! It'll be a trip up to Birmingham to collect it and have a look around the workshop.1 point -

My mate said this after he got one. I got one. I don't regret it one bit 😁 That said, it did cost me almost the same again in mags and you'll want a proper sling mount for the rear. People do say parts are hard to come by, although I've no experience of that as it's not shit itself yet. Going from AEG to GBBR isn't for everyone though, I only used mid-caps in my AEG previously so was kinda used to it but you really notice how often you have to change mags and also how heavy they are in the first few games. One thing it will do though, is speed up your transition to a sidearm in the middle of a firefight.1 point

I use mock PEQ-15 battery box using this PEQ sized battery (before I switched to deans) as a means to fit a battery. It’s unfortunate that the handguard have very little battery space. Also PTS EPM mags work super well with the MCX if you’re worried about mag compatibility. They are a bit pricey but they are genuinely the best mags on the market 👌1 point

It's been really great the way that AIrsoftWorld have handled this, and I hope they don't get hung out to dry by G&G. However, my primary concern is owners, who are out £400 for a paperweight that they've been told not to use until-and-if a fix is rolled out, while the clock is running on their right to reject. And a gen 1 (or 2 or 3 or 4) fix for gen 1 problems is often pushed out by marketing rather than engineering, so I'd be hesitant to trust anything rolled out in haste now. Frankly, I'd hope to see a recall of all guns sold, and (at minimum) a retailer fix applied. Because if they send out new grips to owners, and they still fail, then it might become a "Well, you must have fitted it wrong" wrangle. The longer you hang onto it, the harder it'll be to get your money back. tl;dr - if I'd bought one, it would be on the way back for a refund, no reasons given. Which suck for retailers, but it sucks more for owners.1 point

G&G LevAR 15
John_W reacted to Airsoft World for a topic
For the record: There are other LevAR rifles that have had the same issue, so it’s not restricted to the one dealer and only one of the three rifles that ‘exploded’ was two tone painted. We rarely dismantle guns for two toning as was the case with this one. So just to clarify; none of the three rifles we sold were tampered with or altered in any way, other than one, which was simply masked and spray painted. We also received a response from G&G later today (Sunday) telling us that they knew of this issue last week. They also asked us to remove our Facebook post, which we obviously refused to do. So, have a think about what’s happened here please as these are the facts, which is very important.1 point -
Watches
Lozart reacted to Jez_Armstrong for a topic
Time to bring this thread back from the dead As a watchmaker I'm always working on other people's beloved luxury time peices so over the last two months I have launched my own micro brand "Armstrong" I have been using pocket watch movements, for me they are a tad easier to work on and can be housed into wrist watch cases I have been stripping each one down as they come in, cleaning all the parts in my Elma cleaning machine and putting the movements back together, applying the correct oils in all the places that need them and then regulation them on my machine, rather then just grabbing a movement and throwing it in a case I don't quite trust the origins of the cheapest labour of who puts them together and what random oil they use so rebuilding a movement takes me around 4 hours I have also been customising the dials with my own logo, choosing a case I most like the look of and have been pairing them up with a choice of 22mm bison straps Being a big movement the power reserve is 46 hours between winds and it isn't an automatic movement but rather a manual one hence the need for winding I've been making these in small batches to sell to friends but if anyone is at all interested please drop me a message, I sell them for £135 with your choice of dial and strap color1 point -

Ive used alot of turnigy batteries over the years and they have been great. ive got some nuprols and they have been ok, but clearly a lower standard of battery ( not sure it matters for airsoft tho) Its not a good idea to store lipos at a low state of charge, but stored full they will just lose charge over time without any immediate issue. So charge your lipos after use, full or storage level... Ive used storage charging if im storing them.. ie for weeks or months, but not when they are in used weekly etc. Storage charging is just less stressful for a battery in the same way charging to 80% for normal use is less stressful and gives alot more cycles ( like a LOT more cycles) Ive got some life batteries that i have been using for years, 8 to 10 years maybe and they are still servicable, but they have lived a low stress life.1 point

Lipo Charging questions!....
wadsy reacted to concretesnail for a topic
Use the charger to bring lipos to storage voltage, best practice safety wise and makes charging before. A game quicker. The battery that has bloated, that's done, replace it. But don't replace it with something that has nuprol written on it.1 point -

I wish Airsoft companies would stop producing ARish none guns ( LevAR 15 is at least based on a real gun). I want airsoft companies to produce replicas of real guns (gas Spas 12 somebody pleas?) or at the least iconic Sci Fi guns.1 point
