Ok, well I did get a reply back from them to say they'd find out what went wrong with the order... and then nothing. So I raised a dispute with my bank, and my bank have refunded me the money (and will then presumably proceed to squeeze the same amount out of Extreme Airsoft). I don't think I'll be doing business with them again. On the plus side though, the same item I wanted came back in stock at Patrolbase, and £50 cheaper. And it arrived in two days as promised/2 points -
Update: Cut the bar, bent it to a good position, did the trigger Allen bolt all the way up (So it sits as low as possible) and it worked first time. Absolutely buzzing 😂2 points

Wrexham mate it's only about 30 min from me so I'll be going again. It was good its a little strange being thrown in at the deep end with pro and beginners all in together guys with loads of kit and experience and me with little seemed a little harsh as obviously I was at distinct disadvantage. Personally I'd of liked smaller group to begin with as there was a good amount of us doing the rental thing would have been nice eased into it had a smaller game with the newbies together. You felt out gunned and skilled with little to know explaining of what's gonna happen. Obviously regulars knew the course layouts etc etc so had numerous advantages better guns too I think. Seemed a little unfair but still enjoyed the morning. I guess baptism of fire as they say2 points -

With the seating of your mags, have you tried using adhesive dots in the back of the magwell to bulk them out? Some of my non-STANAG mags fit more snugly in the magwell of either of my M4s when I use a couple of hook or loop dots.2 points

Hi guys new to akr soft had a taster day on Sunday and it was great. Been into air rifles for years so naturally curiosity took me down this path. Hopefully I can pick up some knowledge and ultimately some kit on here 🙏1 point -
I love blowing stuff up, grenades are great. Everyone thinks theyre so smug hiding in a choke point. Got a Quake 8 Impact grenade, and it makes me sad that it fails to detonate probably about 50% of the time, which is obviously sub optimal. And embarassing when you get all smug about grenading someone and its a dud. A quick google shows theyre pretty notoriously crap for this, failing to detonate most of the time on soft/woodland terrain and not much better on solid concrete surfaces. However nobody seems to have a suggestion to fix it, beyond "buy a better grenade". Has anybody else got one of these and suffered similar issues, and found a way to improve it? Im using the .209 shotgun primers in the multishot base. Looking at it, it seems like a very simple mechanism. The weight on the end of the grenade head wobbles about and that movement forces the pin down, but clearly with not enough force to set off the primers every time, can see a light dent on the primer but not enough to fire. So this got me thinking, there must be a way to add more force or a better firing pin? JB Weld some more material on the head to make it heavier, so it applies more force? Insert a spacer between the head unit and firing pin so it pushes it furher? A longer/pointier firing pin so it hits the primer better? All of the above? Any other suggestions? Or is it just a crap product thats half the price of a Dynatech for a reason?1 point

Quake 8 vs Oshiboom OMFG
c-dawg reacted to RostokMcSpoons for a topic
I won an Oshiboom off of the Airsoft Competitions site. I've used it in the hard floor environment of Spec Ops "The Fireplace". I've not used it very often yet, but I've had relativity few failures so far, a couple of light strikes on the soft primers I'm using. Mostly from shallow throws that were more like bowling it across the floor.. going to retrieve a failed throw is a bit of a walk of shame 😂 I've also had a really memorable kill in the helicopter which was great, and winkled out a well ensconced enemy All in all, it's a worthwhile thing to have in my armoury.1 point -
Whether it does the same job (ish) depends on what features you make use of. Granted, I used a different gearbox/platform when I bought the "full-fat" Perun MOSFET over the AB++ because I like the adjustable trigger sensitivity and more programmable firing modes.1 point

I would go for the Hybrid; it has better functionality, particularly trigger sensitivity, and anything that gets rid of trigger contacts and cutoff levers is to be applauded.1 point -
Importing Rifle to Uk from EU
Rogerborg reacted to The_Lord_Poncho for a topic
I seem to recall 'capability' as a legal term also being debated on air rifle forums - in relation to the 12ft lbs limit. I.e. that the law in respect to a non FAC air rifle effectively states that it should not be 'capable' for shooting over 12ft lbs - but that 'capability' isn't defined. It's anybody's guess if the state, by putting very heavy pellets into an others sub 12ftlbs gun could land blows on you, or even by winding up the hammer tension (which on a fair few guns is a very easy procedure with an allen key or screw driver) would suitably prove a gun to be 'capable' of shooting over the limit. No idea if such matters have ever been tested in a court, I would suspect not - I certainly haven't heard so. And if that's true, it just further supports the fact that unless you are really setting out to be a bit of a d*ck, the state has got better things to do than go out of its way to try and screw you over.1 point -
Should know that it's 1.3J, for an auto-capable gun designed to discharge only small plastic missiles to not be considered a firearm. And it's the capability to discharge a missile of any kind. There's nothing compelling the State to drop in 0.2g BBs, or plastic. The intent of the legislation is to limit lethality: they could drop in steel. Not that I think that they will, but we should strive to be technically correct. Try not to sweat it, @Airsoft84, you're a long way from any sort of trouble. However, if you do get another call or an invitation to attend an interview, I would suggest asking to speak to the duty solicitor at the station before making any more admissions. You could also approach UKAPU for advice.1 point

Selling my JG G3 SAS version. It’s polymer with a few metal bits on it including metal magazine hi-cap. Everything works well with no damage. Comes with battery but no charger. Great looking RIF and something different from the usual stuff. Fire selector is typical JG and not exactly crisp ( has wobble but works fine ) Was previously 2 tone but has been stripped and repainted in quality enamel spray, you wouldn’t know. Price includes postage, buyer to cover fees. Thanks£89

ruskitseller reacted to Sewdhull for a topic
Perun do just a MOSFET, a simple switch, you'll need to solder it. Acetech do one too. I have one of those, it's very good. There's very little to them and they will prolong the life of your contacts. Having said that you are on a 7.4v battery and a brushless so your currents will be low. You may not see any benefit for a very long time. If you put an 11.1 in you'll want a MOSFET.1 point -

https://www.cps.gov.uk/legal-guidance/firearms#a03 I don't think you need to worry too much, especially if it hasn't even found its way to you yet. Given it is just a small technical contravention (an 8% is arguably within margin of error) they might let it slide, or just seize it and then give you a talking and ask for your UKARA just to make sure. But how would they even know the joules? They wouldn't know unless your RIF declaration form says it is over 1.3J and raising a flag...1 point -
The 'How Did Your Airsoft Day Go? Thread
Tactical Pith Helmet reacted to Impulse for a topic
I'll be totally unbiased and say "go VC/NVA because it's cheaper and more flexible to get the kit and it's more fun!", totally not because I will be there as VC and I believe Mr. @Tactical Pith Helmet will be as well. At the last one I almost walked across the fields to the Bravo site because I heard airsoft noises in that direction while I was sneaking about. Fortunately I turned back because I also suspected I could've been heading off-site. At least I didn't have any guns on me because I was roleplaying a civvie with a radio so if I did wander off and bump into someone I would't have anything worrying on me But yes, I agree with everything you said about Gunman. Top site and top blokes running it. Also, don't suppose you would know if they had enacted their sniper ban at Eversley yet? I suspect they have done so or will do so soon, as during the summer they tend to have a sniper ban due to lines of sight being restricted (I find it amusing because it's nowhere near as rough as Worthing!). I'll still be bringing my bolt action, but it'd be good to know if I should be setting it for 1.1J or 2.3J.1 point -
Legally the importer is held liable for what is crossing inwards through a border. There may be no comeback on the retailer unless the buyer highlighted the requirement for UK legal specifications or the overseas retailer advertised the availability of UK specifications Many things could happen: The package sits for a while then processes through An import VAT charge is raised against the importer, plus handling charges A RIF declaration & Defence are requested The power is checked / identified Failure to pass the processes can result in destruction or return If very lucky it comes through If slightly lucky it is rejected but returned, and you get refunded - a restocking charge may occur1 point

[Cross posted] Have you received any firearms declaration or exemption forms yet? I ask because, strictly speaking, something capable of over 1.3J and auto fire is a Section 5 (1) (a) prohibited firearm, as daft as that sounds. Since you haven't received it yet, you could file a dispute with the seller or your payment processor. That would be a bit of a dick move, but on the other hand, a commercial seller should know fine well that it's a no-no to send a 1.4J autogun into the UK to begin with. If you do get a knock on the door or a nastygram from Border Force or the police, say nothing, admit to nothing, and get legal advice. Firearms convictions are no joke.1 point

Some more G17G5 tinkering.. Figured as there is the metal slide fitted and the 200% recoil spring, then the nozzle might benefit from a snappier return spring, especially when using a more spicy gas. This 130% is spot on 👍🏻 Very different nozzle design what with the new semi-circle design when it’s pulled to bits and a bit of a fiddle to release the original. Took a few moments to figure out how to release it (it’s a screw inside the middle of the spring.)1 point -
Having had a quick shoot with this back to back against the Gen 4, everything just feels a little tighter on the 5th Gen. How much of that is down to it being brand new is a fair question, but the 4th Gen has only been gamed about 5 or 6 times. Trigger feels better, racking is more positive. Blowback feels different but it's hard to put my finger on exactly how. It feels slightly stronger but like the slide doesn't travel as far (which clearly can't be the case, but...). The grey slight two tone effect looks good as does the curvature of the front end. The mags also have a baseplate that is more rounded and have returned to having the gas nozzle covered by the baseplate rather than exposed. The inside of the front outer barrel has more visible rifling too. My Surefire x300 is a lot tighter fit so perhaps very slight dimensional changes, but it all still fits in the holster fine. Looking forward to an improvement in the weather and a chance to use it in game.1 point
