No idea how many of us have one on this forum, but thought I'd find out! I've got a gen 3 Sport, with DTSS suppressor. Started off with variable mass piston, air brake and m150 spring - came out at 2.29J. However, at my last game, was struggling to hit targets at 60m (thankyou google maps!). So today, I swapped the barrel for a 6.04 CJ (same length as original), the FAST hop unit and a prowler nub. Joules have dropped to 2.01 and the bugger hooks to the left, so I think I need to take it to bits again. With the hop set to zero, it's lifting .45's easily, so I think I need to get some heavier BB's and see how I get on with them. Just had notification that the WASP piston kit is on its way to me, so am looking forward to adding that too. Scope is a Vortex Diamondback 3.5-10 x 50, on a replica desertech mount. Lovely scope that works really well in low light woodland... I'm open to advice on my set up - I don't want much - I just want to splat the enemy at 80m...

must admit I had my L85A3 case out last night to 'practice' lol. Spent a good bit of time looking for a deeper case but they seem to be a fairly standard 5" internal depth.

If you want reasonably simple, try Flames of war. The older stuff is white metal but the more recent stuff and the "Team Yankee" WW3 stuff is all plastic.

Yeah, might just do that. Nice one. The cost bit was more around the rails than the mounts (£144 for gen Ops-Core if the FMA rails are shitty too), but I guess if I wanted to avoid a money pit I picked the wrong hobby. 😄

No, that was on there, but wasn't the tightest of fits to be fair! I spent some time yesterday playing around with the ZCI hop unit, and just couldn't get it centralised on the barrel - but I didn't go as far as the epoxy route suggested above. What I did notice is that the hop arm was very 'sloppy' in the unit, and could sit at a sideways angle - giving the effect of pressing the nub on one side of the buckings' patch (not something that I've come across on other ZCI hop units, so a little strange that it happening on this one!). I spent some time looking at ways of shimming the arm, but before trying any of it, remembered a Maxx ME Pro hop unit that someone extremely kind off this forum had given to me some months back (thank you @lukeB you legend). I fitted the Maxx, and the Delrin C clip provided a much more secure fit to the inner barrel, and with no hop arm sideways play at all. I'd heard mixed reviews of Maxx hop units and their incompatibility with lots of rifles, but I have to say that it works fabulously in mine (a SR15 built up using various E&C parts).

....but, it must also be said that hammocks can be extremely cold, more so in some situations than sleeping in direct contact with the ground. The air circulates underneath you, and your sleeping bag is fully compressed below you in exactly the same areas as the air circulates providing extremely limited insulation as a result. One solution is a sleeping mat inside the hammock (ideally a self inflating mat partially inflated), but these slip around and can be uncomfortable. The gold standard for insulation in a hammock is some form of underblanket e.g. https://www.outdoorgb.com/p/Snugpak_Hammock_Underblanket/ . The days of sleeping under a basha are well behind me, and I always go for hammocks these days - much more flexibility to set up over whatever ground conditions, comfortable (when rigged ideally - otherwise a nightmare), and fun!

The "additional plates" are so that you can mount it on molle using a "malice clip" (which is how I mount mine to a battle belt). CTM TAC have a YouTube channel that shows you how to do this.

Funnily enough i got my first one off Facebook marketplace for £30 because it had been left ourside and was a bit wet and dirty. Second one was £58 off ebay but £20 postage. Still a bit of a bargain though.

I lucked out with my case - £50 from someone who was just about to put it in a skip... Glad I've got it though, makes it easy to carry my rifles and I can sling it in the boot of the car without worrying. Plus it has doubled up as a nice table on events!

I've found AliExpress to be useful when looking for cheap sights, the latest being a SIG Romeo8 which is on my MP7. They're all pretty easy to dial in, I use a formula so I can do it indoors at shorter distances. It works out the offset you need, I then draw two crosses on a target, one's the aim point and the other's where the BB should hit. I got it from the Recon Brothers website, they used to have a calculator on there but now they just tell you the formula. You can either do this the old fashioned way with BBs or with a bore sighter

It's a 26bb mag but less gas capacity than a hi capa, so it's always gonna struggle to empty, but it will improve a little as the weather gets warmer. Don't think of it as a hindrance, had it been real steel you'd only get 8 shots at best. If the trip back to the safezone is a pain, consider getting a smaller refillable gas can to carry in game, along with a speedloader.

It was horrible getting into your boxer shorts elastic. Then you'd sit in the van and grind it into your waist skin. Made even worse when you got back in the seat the next morning, only to get the remnants pushed back into your skin again. Ggggrrrrrr

Oh myyy......😍 I haven't been following this, but I'm gonna go back and find details! Anyway... This isn't that exciting when it comes to gun pictures, but I'm a happy boy and had to share. Last year I gave a friend my cheapy Cyma SVD, for servicing and upgrading. Then life got in the way. I got a rotator cuff injury, he lost his driving licence (illness, not booze), and what with one thing and another he's had it ever since. On Sunday I got it back. Full steel rack piston, 110 spring, different piston head, new hop rubber, hop nub, new set of bushings for the gears, combat union hop. Its kicking .3s out around 1.4 to 1.5 joules. I'm on site tomorrow, to continue with our site overhaul, and I'll be giving her a real test for range. Now all I need is an SVD sling.

i finally managed to make it to RIFTs newest site this weekend, The Battery. as i knew it was going to be a CQB site, i decided my primary weapons for the day were going to be my new KWA Beretta M93r, my KWA GBB Skorpion and my John Wick hicappa and TM Lycoris Recoil pistols as my backups (alternating between primary and secondary throughout the day) but i took a couple of long guns such as my Tippmann in case they were needed, but ended up sticking with the short guns all day. i had purchased a bunch of mags for the m93 through RIFTs own shop, White Sphere Tactical, and arranged to pick them up on site... so once signed in it was off to collect the mags, bring kit into the indoor safezone. standard fare for chrono, but due to the CQB, ammo weight was limited to .28g. first game was team balancer and found that blue team was overly powerful, so as a lone wolf i got swapped onto red team with a handful of other players to balance the teams a little more. game modes through the day were all 30 min games with quick breaks in between for reloading, which wasnt an issue due to the relatively small size of the site. game modes included capturing ammo cans to HQ, moving a gas cylinder "bomb" to three capture points and capturing flag points around the site. TBH, not knowing the site, i was more focussed on just getting kills for the first half of the day, but i did help out with the objectives later in the day once i got more familiar with the site and my new guns. one thing i really need to look into is how to mount tracer units on the skorpion and M93, as these would DEFINATELY have helped in the indoor sections. i did have a bit of an oopsie moment (which i managed to turn to a win)... at one point a blue player was hiding behind some corrugated steel barricades at the bottom end of one of the yards, so i decided to charge the location, laying down fire with the m93 to keep the enemys head down as i crossed the open spaces. as i moved, the m93 gassed out (i think i reloaded the mag, but forgot to gas it.. oops..) so i quickly took the m93 in my left hand and drew my JW hicappa as i reached the barricade... where i hit a patch of mud, slipped over, fell into the barricade and as i slid past the edge of the barricade, managed to snap 2 shots off at the blue player, taking him out... after getting helped up, quickly checking my gear and fist bumping the blue player, i decided to call myself out to go and check my injuries and thoroughly inspect the guns and fortunately found the barrels were clear, so i was soon back out. and i was running a gopro on my helmet for the first time, so i might have caught my little fall on tape... in the process of downloading the footage as i type this message, so i should know in a few minutes.... Everyone, I am sure has heard of the Vortex warranty. Well, it's just awesome! I know it's only a little thing, but I lost my elevation turret cap in a game. Haven't thought about it until it's come time to sell the scope. Popped them an email and they're sending a replacement out the same day I spoke to them! Now that is good customer service. I've got Vortex on all my main rifles, for good reason 😄

Sorry but all the above just don't add up to the superior aesthetics of the Walther P99
