  1. It's only right mate. I've no time for blaggers myself. As soon as that discrepancy was brought to my attention, was rectified. World is full of 🔔🔚's and I don't intend on being one 😆

  2. Shocked to say service was excellent. They had M2 in-stock almost £150 cheaper than anyone else so took a chance. Good coms notified me my UKARA was lapsed. I Received the gun two days after confirmed my UKARA was renewed. So yeah good experience.

  3. If you must wear a modern lid, then go for a ratchet adjustable one/rear rotation adjustment thingy. If its in a sized outer then even better. I've a few helmets. The cheapest PASGT replica with a Flora cover fits me best, and the cover is baggy enough to allow me to pretend that a Russian bin lurks beneath it in milsim/filmsim games. The digiflora cover sits on a slightly more expensive light weight fast style helmet which is OK but crap besides a genuine FMA. I'd go FMA for a decent fit and a bit of comfort. M1s are sized and fit accordingly, WW2 British Brody's and the like weigh a ton to play in. Of course the true airsoft connoisseur wears a helmet of purest Vietnamese pith, preferably along with a pair of baggy cotton shorts and a Martini-Henry. Victory is assured and one can always invade the site next door and annex it for the Crown.

  4. Fully working and assembled barring a few bolts, outer barrel and slide release. Lovely and snappy. Looks a bit blank at the mo but by the time I have the sliding stock done it should look a little less barren

  5. No worries. The fact you've taken onboard what's been posted and adjusted the price accordingly shows you're not an arse. Far too often the poster digs their heels in and refuse to accept any criticism and wonder why their trashed pos gun (usually listed 'as new') won't sell for the same as new Same here. It also makes me avoid airsofthub and used airsoft as they're both a hotbed of overpriced tat

  8. True, which is why I make custom Kydex holders. Half an A4 sheet of 2mm-ish per bang. Cut to this approximate shape - draw around the base to make the circle, size the top section to the height of the 'nade. Heat and form around the banger, let it cool, remove the banger, then briefly reheat and bend in slightly more to achieve retention. Attach any way you like, using holes as pictured, or you could cut a Molle-width tongue, whatever takes your fancy.

  9. they're all vented, it's what pushes out the piston head oring to create a solid air seal, it's just some have more vents than others but generally it doesn't make much difference. Ideally you need a chrono if doing any gearbox upgrades. Did your original piston head not have any vents?

  11. Ah, so very appropriate on Valentine's day.. I often find that in a tight spot, rapid deployment is often a problem... "Hang about ladies, I just have to untangle this". 😁 Yeah, done sort of grenade pouch would be the very thing, but I'm one of them poors now, so repurposing stuff is my go-to thing. I did find this which is cheap enough Viper TACTICAL Elite Grenade Pouch https://amzn.eu/d/0K4Vsln The retention isn't much different from my SA80 pouch though! ... Hmmm reading the reviews they're not that impressed with the retention, I need to find one with a velcro flap

  12. Played another half day today and actually managed nearly all of it! There was only12 of us with 4 or 5 first timers but it was a really good day. They first timers were all young teenagers so it took them the 1st game to realise that it doesn't hurt when you get shot. Standard attack/defend games were played and by the time I had had enough there were some very good tactical manoeuvres emerging with fantastic comms being shouted. Pics below . . . That's my eldest daughter. Another proud father moment.

I've added an o ring to the other hop adjuster screw and took out the plastic pin at the front and replaced it with a bolt to clamp things down a bit. It's only friction holding the slidey part in place so I added some. Put some markings on the gearbox cylinder maybe. sourcing map 10 Pcs Adhesive Backed Tape Measure 10cm Left to Right Read Measuring Tapes Stick on Workbench Ruler (Black) https://amzn.eu/d/ccTv0Nn

  21. LOL, I probably did, but we're so used to going off on a tangent as we relate our own experiences with kit we're discussing, thought I'd point out the elephant in the room 🤣 Definitely a +1 on these, way better fit than having to ratchet your chinstrap down to stop the lid moving, not a good look if you've got chubby chops🐷

  24. Helmets are the worst. I have a cheap fast helmet, but even the best stuff is not comfy and the trade off between protection and comfort isn't there in Airsoft. If you can't keep your head cool glasses will fog, visors even.... Fine if you want to larp to any degree, but it's not for me. I can't imagine playing a game in a Britannia or flameproof or helmet. Just training I wouldn't need to pee all day as the sweat would just soak into the suit even consuming everything in the camel bak.

  25. One True BRAND 🙂 You're right, not needed. Most Nitrile comes with decent anti-oil protection aleady. The same Viton / FKM oring is often 5% thicker so it's better used when looking to make up a little extra space.

  26. What I'm hearing is start again and do a piece at a time..... Damn it. From what I can tell, no the OG was not vented, maybe I wasn't looking hard enough. The o ring is loose, back to the drawing board, and a chronograph on order soon. I'll just take it in "as good as I can get then hope they maybe have a spare rental on Saturday. Thanks gents

Sorry to hear this, it can be quite the surprise - and a good excuse reason have a backup to hand. Springs tend to be stiffer when colder, so just putting some rounds through it on the morning can help. While it's cheating-the-chrono in spirit, you might find that you'll see lower energy from 0.2g. MP5 hops are indeed prone to winding off, and always worth re-adjusting.

  31. Upgrades, eh? Same as with anything else in airsoft, it's best to change one part at a time and then test objectively. Same as with anything else in airsoft, ain't nobody got time fo' that. What I would suggest is ensuring that the o-ring is loose, and I mean looser than you'd think is necessary. You can stretch it over the cylinder to slacken it up, or replace with something that might be a bit more generous than stock. I use BS910 19.18mm x 2.46mm rings. Nitrile, but I'm sure someone will demand Viton® is the One True Material. Keep at it, I've seen a shocking 1.3J on 0.28g from an M100 spring, 228mm 6.01mm barrel, rotary hop, Maple leaf bucking, and stock CYMA gearbox components just with extra holes drilled in the head, a replaced o-ring, and a little silicone grease.

It's entirely plausible that the variable here was the marshal/ the marshals mood when you chrono'd rather than the gun shooting at different power levels between the visits. If you were only just over this time, they may have let you have the benefit of the doubt on your previous visit? Other possibility is that the hop had loosened off (MP5 hops are susceptible to this - I had to sort my Cyma with a small rubber o-ring between the tightening screw and the hop body) without you necessarily touching it during your last game. A reduction in hop can lead to a higher FPS. Might be worth investing in a Chrono at some point if you are sticking with the hobby and will start tinkering with your guns - mine was very cheap (from memory, less than £40), yet has been reliable for years and always matches the readings that I get from the more expensive chronos on game days.

  34. @Leo Greer Is your 38 TPA this one? https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001389831124.html Yeah saw a video that tested it, it sounds surprisingly slow indeed Curiously it only has a stall torque for about ~230 mN.m for ~33 A which is substantially lower than the 28 TPA, looks like while it is technically more efficient (more torque per current) but it seems it simply cannot make full use of the amount of currents we can afford in airsoft Interesting use case for a 14.8 @Sewdhull I take Reaper's "cycle time" with a grain of salt because they don't explain their methodology (maybe they did but I don't speak German) and judging from other trigger response videos floating around, and the 10 ms delay measured above, I suspect their cycle time is taken from a string of full auto divided by the number of shots, because in my head Warhead would be behind a few other brushless (and not at the top of the chart) if it is only measuring the very first shot, which is more important for trigger response Similarly their current chart looks about right, but it doesn't show whether it is semi or full auto (and for how many rounds), and whether their 11.1 is fully charged (i.e. more than 11.1) or at exactly 11.1 measured with a meter, and if they were not through in making sure the battery is at exactly the same voltage before the tests, it can affect the numbers Also different capacity of 11.1 batts will have dramatic differences of Vdrop under load, which can affect trigger response and cycle time So while their charts are good references I have some doubts about their cycle times and I am not sure Warheads have better trigger response than the other brushless as the chart implies

  35. Don't know why they call them 'sausage dogs.' They taste more like chicken to me...

  36. The 10ms starting delay is likely because of startup torque. Brushless motors have a lot of instantaneous torque and have even been known to snap their drive shafts without a ramping program. Of course if you're using a 28TPA you'll have more torque. If you used a brushless motor of the same speed you'd have more torque. I used a 33K RPM T238 to pull an SP170 spring (M190 equivalent) in a DSG build and it still performed at high efficiency. Good luck getting a brushed motor of similar RPM to perform the same. Also, torque is not everything. Trigger response is still limited by the maximum RPM of the motor. For example, I have a 38TPA motor that runs about 15K RPM on 11.1v. Even using 12:1 gears, the trigger response is slow. Hence, I use a 14.8v to up the RPM.

  42. I fully agree with this. I always hated my heavy steel helmet I had in the army so I never got a helmet for airsoft but rather use a boonie. To give a little protection against bumps or bbs I use a bump cap https://amzn.eu/d/cCGtLkP My son uses an FMA Team Wendy helmet which you can get cheapish from AliExpress. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002651631133.html They have a better suspension than normal fast helmets (but you can retrofit other helmets with that suspension - again cheap on AliExpress) The only disadvantage is that they use a different rail than other FAST helmets
