Working on an upper reciever to drop into one of my augs to make something close to the australian f90. There are a few differences on the lower as well but im not going for every detail. I just like the overall look of the foreend.5 points -

I wouldn't use anyone except those two, which is why they have such long waiting lists, which is why I wouldn't use them. It's a self-causing / self-solving problem. If it's for a specific gun it might be best to mention it, as any Sklyar can mess up an M4, but some techs specialise in messing up GBBR or HPA builds.2 points

I'm kinda torn with these, great gun, in all fairness the JG version is just as good, but the FAL has a bit of a cult following, so weirdly, going by the original rrp's, I've seen JG's way overpriced & CA's underpriced lol. The sensible part of me thinks £300 is about right, but £350 does give some haggle room for the buyer to feel victorious. Gotta say I paid less than half that for my JG to a lovely "young" chap on here, where are you mate @Druid799 ?2 points

TM MP5 NGRS Owners
Mr Dellski and one other reacted to PigDoggy for a topic
Group shot of the Marui MP5 NGRS collection. Gots the A4, A5, SD6 and put together an SD5 (made from a next Gen A4 and SD6). Other Mp5 is kitted out with Magpul stuff. Finally done buying these things. 😂 edit: vfc flashlight handguard had a slight front/back play which is annoying as the hole for the pin is oblong-ish. I removed the two strips of plastic to allow for battery space for mounting it on the A5. I cut a small piece from those plastic pieces and glued it at the back of the rear tab (which hook into the upper receiver). No more front-rear play anymore. No creaking. I now use the stock push pin instead of the locking pin that came with my Magpul SL handguard for the mp5.2 points -
Natural fibre is an absolute dick to work with preparing etc, so that is why it costs so much. A 200m spool of properly produced Jute at 4/5mm diameter can be upwards of £400 on its own, before anything has been done with it. Basically, its monstrously overkill for airsoft, but then some donkeys run around with real plates in so..1 point

He doesn't do courier service, but if you're in the south east you can look up Adzzzy's Armoury (Facebook, Youtube). He's based in West Sussex and has worked on all of my AEGs that have had issues, since I don't like AEG gearboxes. Never had a bad experience with his work, but you have to be able to drop it off to him as I don't think he likes dealing with postal stuff.1 point

gavinkempsell reacted to RostokMcSpoons for a topic
Not really listening to music as such, but as I'm trying to learn how to play my guitars (all 4 of 'em) I have a long list of Top Choons that I try to play along to. Everything and anything, quite lidddderally from ABBA to ZZ Top as long as I can use Chordu to get the simple chords so I can try to wrangle some rhythm guitarishness out of 'em. God bless him and his Canadian cotton socks, but Mr Bryan Adams has written some hits aren't really 'my taste' but that are damned fun to play along to, and not too tricky. Same for a bunch of other popsters. I'll give anything a go. Luckily though, I'm finally getting to the point where I can hit on the beloved Cardiacs, for some of the simpler (slower, less stoppy-starty) numbers... and this epic is the current fave for strumming along to https://chordu.com/chords-tabs-cardiacs-dirty-boy-id_d-dd4fMUhAY1 point -

Super impressed by Orga and Japanese post. Ordered something like... a week ago, it was sent on the 6th and Parcelforce already attempted to deliver it yesterday (10th). And by attempt to deliver, I mean they shoved a card through my door without knocking. Getting them to redeliver it to my local post office so I'll have my VSR widebore barrel ready for this Sunday's skirmish!1 point

Tell Us a Gag. Please!
Tactical Pith Helmet reacted to Shamal for a topic
Julius Caesar and Pompey the Great were rivals for the position of First Consul of Rome. They spoke before the Senate, putting forward their cases for election to the post, by recounting their deeds in the service of Rome. “When the Gauls attacked Rome, I defended the city,” Pompey said, “and drove them out killing 100,000 Gauls.” “I invaded Gaul,” Caesar said, “and I too slew 100,000 Gauls.” So the Senate gave the position to Caesar because in Europe away Gauls count double.1 point -

Two-tone paint removal "When 2 become 1"
Muzzer reacted to RostokMcSpoons for a topic
With the disclaimer that I have a UKARA number, and I'm an active skirmisher, I've decided to do a proper paint job, so I'm stripping off the bright blue paint from a gun, and I was intending to prime and spray it black. (Black to start, I might go 'camo' in the near future) The blue paint is on top of the factory black finish I don't mind if the factory finish comes off too, I'll just spray the whole thing The only part I need to attend to is a decent quality aluminium upper, but that does involve a long set of RIS rails... so... lots of corners! I remember seeing that brake fluid does a job on two tone, so I've bought some, did a brief test on a small patch (blue comes off, reveals black beneath... no initial sign that the black was also coming off) So I went 'all in', stuck the receiver in a plastic tray and poured the bottle of brake fluid over the top, to let it have a soak. Now I came back here to look again for hints, and found mention of 'rubbing gently' (yub yub) to remove the paint to reveal the finish beneath. It appears I've gone off a bit half-cocked (wibble) Have I gone a bit OTT with the 'bath' technique? Was brake fluid even the best idea, should I have gone for a 'proper' paint stripper? Any handy hints on my next steps much appreciated! Edit: I guess this will become less of a 'question' thread and more of a 'personal experience / how-to' thread I went to have a look at the soaking receiver, and already the brake fluid is turning blue. A bit of light work with a tooth brush revealed the black paint beneath, and so far the factory paint has remained intact - no sign of breaking through that so far. So this is good progress... I've turned the receiver over to let the other side soak.1 point -

Ear pro for CQB
Galvatron reacted to RostokMcSpoons for a topic
Asomodai's old AUG HC definitely has me covered for shortness. And hawtness It will be interesting to see how things develop in a brand new site where the internal layout will probably start off being "just plain wrong", a preponderance of cqb-inexperienced players and marshals... should make for some fun'n'games in the early days. (You know I've always liked that word... 'preponderance', so rarely have an opportunity to use it in a sentence) I get the need for a helmet and full face mask. But in my bid to be cheap-skate early doors, I'll stick to my lower face / ears mask and a stout baseball cap.1 point
