  4. After seeing people using Gousto boxes as bb catchers on another thread I thought I share what I’ve done for my Airsoft shooting range in the garden. I didn’t use Gousto but Hello Fresh packing material. I’ve used a 60x120cm MDF board and screwed on 1x2 in boards. I then filled it with the packing material from Hello Fresh that they use to keep the meat cold (see first picture). In the bottom of the frame I left a small gap so when I tilt the I don’t shoot from very close (4-10m) but the bbs just stay in the bb catcher and at the end I just tilt the board and the bbs roll out on the side into a bin. Please share your ideas for target practice at home or in the garden

  5. @Mr haymes @Pseudotectonic The key point on airsoft is that compliant airsoft guns that are within the definition linked are no longer firearms within the act. Prior to that exemption they were ‘low power air weapons’ which are within the definition of a firearm A key technicality is “for the purposes of this act” Therefore take legal advice on what definition of a firearm applies to your restrictions to ensure that your airsoft BB guns were & are not an issue Sometimes a definition is carried across legislation and sometimes it refers to ‘as defined in’. If not specified then it’s subject to interpretation

  7. Airgun shooters are using Plumbers Mait from screwfix to line their targets - it acts like a non-newtonian fluid to dissipate the projectile energy without ricochets. Infinitely reusable if you flick the BB's out every now and then.

    Good evening

No real need to spend £1K, just get yourself a reasonable mid-priced AEG (electric) M4 to start off (£200 - £300), pistol if you really want but it's not essential, it's more of a "fun" purchase. No need for all the gucci gear either. Far better to dip your toe and then slowly build up over time. Have fun.

    Which bbs?

Never had an issue with the .25 tracers I bought.

    Which bbs?

I've bought a few when I've needed to buy something that only BZ Tactical had in stock. No surprises with them, they work exactly as they should, however when a bag of ASG Cursed cost quite a bit less I'd not be going out of my way to buy them.

Picked this up with a horrible tiger stripe paint job and spent some time cleaning it up. It has been stripped and repainted but there are some spots on the handguard where its still a little thick and some parts like the bolt release and front handguard ring which havent been repainted yet. When I recieved it the proprietary g&p etu was dead so I have swapped out the gearbox for a basic cyma one and it functions quite well now. Included with it is a repro vietnam style 556 bandolier (I have a second brand new one ill throw in with it if I can find it) 5 king arms 120rd short plastic midcaps (black) and 7 mag brand 100rd plastic midcaps (grey) All of them are working with the mag ones being brand new but unfortunately the mag catch on this gun dosent hold them quite high enough so some modification will have to be made to use them. They do feed if pushed up in the magwell so it needs some extra material on the mag release. Price includes paypal fees and postage.

Can't remember where I got it 🤪 Its the US MK2 M21 'Pineapple' grenade made from 1918-1969 The fuse it a practice one so legal to own. Yeah, use it as a paperweight but I careful dropping it in case it damages the floor 😆 Edit: just found this: G&G Armament - MK2 Hand Grenade Replica BB Bottle | Patrol Base UK

  19. Training grenade, couple of companies make them in the US, between $20-$30 new, but subject to itar apparently so not easy to ship over. Regards sticking it on the kit, fuck that if it's that heavy, plenty of lightweight copies available online that'd look as good without the weight penalty. I'd keep it as a paperweight or coffee table talking point lol, tell visitors your grandad bought it back from Normandy, go to hand it to them & then fumble it for a reaction 😂

  22. Lol, what a crock, my stock metal slide ksc G19 lasted 20 years at 340ish fps (propane-.20), without ever missing a beat, total cost new £65, never spent another penny on it.

Here we have a custom Tokyo Marui Glock 17 Gen III. Built from some of the highest quality materials. The intention was to skirmish it. It’s now looking for a new home. Everything in the photo has been installed. Known as a 'sleeper', it appears predominantly stock/standard with a large number of internal upgrades. The upgrades improve accuracy, range, reduce gas consumption, strengthen the robustness of the pistols function, improve each firing action of the slide, improve trigger feel and response, improve cycle rate and firing feel, improve sighting. On top of that the trigger, front sight and steel body pins add to the look of the pistol. All components are new apart from the extra mag, which has been used indoors to test the pistol during fitment. It has NOT been skermished. Components: -Brand New Tokyo Marui Glock 17 Gen III £140 -Test Fired Extra Marui Mag £26 -X2 Madbull Routers £13 -Fiber Sight £18 -Trigger With x3 Inner-Triggers To Choose From £28 -Steel Guide Rod & Spring Set £18 -Enhanced Piston Head £5.60 -Precision CNC Inner Frame £40 -Steel Hammer & Spring Set £42.50 -Steel Body Pin Set £11 -Hop and 6.02mm Barrel & Hop-Rubber Set £28 -Precision CNC Blowback Unit £48 -Steel Trigger Lever £33 -Custom ACP Pistol Stand £15 -Gas inlet Valve O-Rings (no-leak when filling) £free -Build Cost: £64 TOTAL: 530.00 It’s all been painstakingly filed, fitted and tuned and has had about 400 bb’s through it to test it during fitment. I’ve designed it to be functional on standard propane gas (328fps) as well as tolerate High-Pressure Air. However please be advised that the plastic slide can only tolerate so much pressure before it fails. All in all a side-arm for life! Enough of unreliable sidearms. Though saying that, I’ve played pistols as primary weapons for years! I've built many pistols over the years and speak from experience. Investing in a Glock means access to one of the largest pool of readily available pistol upgrades on the Airsoft market.

    Various loadouts.

Loadout 1, g&g tr16 55mbr(attachments are a nuprol bipod sometimes also with a nuprol vertical grip Trijicon 4×32 acog with a Doctor red dot on top asg hush silencer who I got from a friend hence the tan colour and a nuprol 3 point sling) with 7 mags 70 round mid caps (dmr spec fully upgraded if anyone wants the details to what's been done just ask it's 430fps about 100m range with .32s using a 11.1v lipo) Sidearm is a glock 18c full auto (standard) with 4 50 round extended mags and 2 think there 20 odd rounds. Also carry a 1911 sometimes 3 mags aswell as the Glock. Loadout 2(main loadout), I am the proud owner of a Tokyo Mauri mk46 mod0(attachments are nuprol vertical grip nuprol fake laser light box for holding the battery and spare and a theta optics monolith red dot 2 point padded lmg sling and sometimes a vityaz tracer unit if dark put the silencer of my dmr on it but didn't like the look of it) now I must say it is dear yes but I've never felt or seen a replica with the build quality an attention to detail as this and not to mention the recoil 😍 gets quite the bit of attention both in game and out got a very distinct firing noise which speaking to people on the recieving end say sounds very unique and intimidating(when they find out where you are the rate and ferocity of incoming fire is unreal ideal for team members to push up) with 2 mags all I've done to tht is change out springs and put spacers at the back of the spring I get around 330 fps. Sidearm is a glock 17 with the same 4 50 round extended mags. Sometimes also my 1911 although I find I need tht less with this setup as I have a tremendous amount of firepower already in the mk46 find myself rarely using the Glock. Only for moving into buildings or tight spaces. Loadout 3(hardly use as not got round to building the rifle yet)cyma l96(attachments are nuprol bipod and a nuprol 4×32 scope) with 4 mags Glock 18 4 mags and the 1911 3 mags. Standard kit is a 8fields tactical jump plate with real British army webbing and pouches. Nuprol holster on the webbing for Glock and nuprol mag holders for Glock. 1911 in leg holster(can't remember make) with room for 1 mag other two are in a double mag pouch on plate carrier. Torque precision sf-df in mount attached to plate carrier. Baofeng uv-5r with big arial attached to rear of carrier with pressure switch on front and single ear headphone with boom. Helmet is just a cheap British army replica. Camo is standard British army camo In my webbing I carry water mags spare bbs gas speed loaders disposable flashes an smokes batteries basic tool kit everything I need so don't have to go back to the safe zone other than lunch or home time or switching kits when the mk46 grinds me down. Some kit has been bought since photos where taken. Oh an a picture as to why I haven't been playing since July. Wrote my car off shattered my femur and tore ACL an pcl😟 getting there hopefully be back before Xmas as femur has totally healed just my knee is abit unstable still.

  29. Kind of counts for this thread I suppose - A TTI PCC carbine build around an AAP-01. 210mm Unicorn Airsoft inner barrel+ unicorn hop rubber that came with the barrel. 3d printed short stroke buffer, semi lock selector plate, and angled fore grip. Performance seems pretty decent - good accuracy and hop at 1.2 joules (305fps) on a .28g bb - I'll try some heavier ones later. Whole thing is very solid, and rather light/'pointable'. Only bit that is annoying me is the octarms M-Lok handguard - even with no shims there is a gap at the back of it of at least 4mm between it and the receiver. I might need to try a different design that doesn't simply rely on set screw holes in the barrel nut and shims to align.

  30. A quick look at the internals... Well..... the switch isn't going to last long on 11.1v - there is clear indicators of burning/arching/pitting on the trigger shuttle already after ~30mins of use. Problem is - the switch is proprietary. It'll probably be easier to source a Gate Titan than try to find a replacement KWA switch here in blighty. Great. The switch is not a complete write-off yet,so I'm going to try clean it up and fit a simple Mosfet for now. KWA should of shipped the gun with one fitted - they are not exactly expensive these days. The rest of the gearbox is fine. Gears seem tough, the shimming is a touch tight, but with the shell being so thick and less openings in it to test each gear individually, it'll be tricky to re-shim so I'll leave it as-is for now. The shell really is a chunky beast. I have no concerns about it's long term durability. There is a proprietary tappet and nozzle which is a characteristic of all KWA 2.5 guns. The Piston and Piston head are best described as mediocre so I've ordered replacements from @ak2m4 . There is so much potential for this gun - it is a few component choices short of truly excellent but ultimately penny-pinching by the manufacturer has let it down. As-is, would I recommend it? Well, if you are confident at teching your own guns, then yes, I think I do. But for a beginner player? - Good god no. And that's a real shame.

  32. Fuck you KWA. Turns out that KWA Pistons are oversized compared to normal AEG pistons by a couple of MM. Luke/Negative Airsoft mentioned this in the video I posted above but I figured it would be OK. I was wrong. So if you replace the stock piston with common (and reasobly priced!) XT/SHS fare - don't expect it to last very long. My XT piston died on Sunday with a lovely crunch as it somehow skipped over the sector gear. Investigating the fitment of the piston on the GB rails reveal that it's entirely possible that the piston can rotate several MM on it's axis AND up and down laterally. Three or four teeth are damaged - it doesn't look too bad in the photo but you can feel it when you run a nail over them - and the piston has dozens of stress fractures where the rack flexed over the sector gear. If you subscribe to Luke on Patreon - you will see that he now has several videos (not on YouTube) about KWA guns. Seems like there's also a tappet timing issue with some guns if you use 11.1v LiPos - causing huge power drops once things (like the tappet spring and plate) start to wear. Slowing the gun down with a 7.4v LiPo will see the power return - but that's a shit solution to a design flaw. Negative Airsoft is now adding a brass spacer to pre-load the tappet spring, removing the delayer chip, and cutting the tappet plate (DSG style) to speed up the forward nozzle movement. I will probably take the same route pre-emptively. Luckily he mentions a fix for the Piston in the shape of the Madbull PX02 - which is a near match for the stock piston in size. Problem is - they cost nearly £30 and are hard to get hold of...😒 So coming full circle - do I recommend this, or any other KWA gun? No. No I do not. Steer well clear. Or be prepared to spend a shit ton of money: £244 - Base gun £32 - replacement Motor (SHS) £110 - Gate Titan (yeah - I would say it's a pretty essential purchase for this gun because the stock switch/COL is terrible and impossible to get spares. No, Gate Asters or Peruns do not work without some sketchy modifications - the GB was built specifically around the Gate Titan) £7 Piston Head (XT) £30 Madbull Piston Total Cost (so far) - £423 *sigh*
