Not to be that guy but I have one of the first batch (technically pre-production) versions of these and I ran it for a full game on Sunday (29th Oct) and can confirm that it is an impressive bit of kit for the price. It was hoping .3s at least 60m and that was in the colder weather and usual Scottish rain (Yellow Met Office Warning). I was using the Action Army AAP Drum as well as WE Glock mags and they all fed without any issues. It is a massive improvement over their last GBB which was the MP-443 Grach under their Raptor Branding.2 points -

I find the etched shims that you sell perfectly adequate. Having the size on each shim is very helpful. Given that I am very old and wear glasses that would not look out of place on a Japanese sniper, you young chaps should not be struggling to read the etching. SHS shims; they are good.2 points -

I'm sure I've got some coloured and shaped shims. It was a three size pack with one size silver and one bronze and the third size was octagonal shape. It was really useful being able to tell the apart, so I'd be up for more sizes which can be differentiated.2 points -
147mm barrel to 350fps
Colin Allen and one other reacted to The_Lord_Poncho for a topic
I have on my SR25 - think i used three O-rings on the inner barrel sandwiched between the hop unit and the end of the outer barrel in the end, but very much trial and error. Just added/removed until i seemed to get good feeding. I hadn't thought about the accuracy benefits to be honest - no idea if it has made an improvement to my SR25, but i did it as i had swapped out the stock hop unit and didn't have a suitable spring to pop there.2 points -

It's weird how people now automatically turn to AI rather than good old photoshop. This is most likely a photoshop. I don't think it has any of the marks of an AI image. Guess AI is the trendy word but it annoys me when people use it in the wrong places. Thinking about it, I'm sure anybody walking about in Londonderry looking like that is gonna be handled pretty quickly even without the links to HAMAS!2 points -

147mm barrel to 350fps
Rogerborg and one other reacted to Colin Allen for a topic
Before you start bunging a heavier spring in, have you checked that the airseals (piston head, cylinder head, air tube to nozzle, nozzle to rubber) are all good? If they are, a somewhat stronger spring would be a good idea.2 points -
147mm barrel to 350fps
Nick G and one other reacted to Colin Allen for a topic
A full cylinder will lead to over voluming; in theory, a 1/2 cylinder would be the best match. If you are in the UK, do not try to achieve 350fps (I assume you mean when using a 0.20g BB); given the variability of site chronos, there is a decent chance your new toy will end up going back in its bag. Running between 0.97-1.05J on your preferred BB weight with a good hop unit (ZCI?) and a Maple Leaf Macaron with an AK2M4 red nub will give you all the range you need.2 points -

I've never played with him not tht I know of anyway. Personally I think the guy is abit of a bell end as the majority of us are there to have fun. We minimise head shots don't intentionally shoot people in sore places don't go round calling everyone cheaters. The guy intentionally aims for the head or sore places even when a plate carrier or somewhere thts not gonna hurt as much is open. Sits in bushes whistling for people to turn to shoot then in the mostly upper part of the body it is amusing don't get me wrong but aim further down dude. Its all to get a reaction for his YouTube channel for views. He mag dumps people (little child I've seen) yet when it happens to him he goes off his head. On calling people cheater's half his shots miss if you look very carefully and sometimes people don't feel getting shot from distance due to clothing or armour. From the videos I've watched I almost feel like he enjoys hurting people in a sadistic kind of way. Cheaters are actually few and far between from what I've experienced anyway and I've been playing for a good few years don't get me wrong I have come across a few genuine cheater's but most of the time you think you've hit someone it's either not as a bb is extremely small and hard to follow through the air to target and because of wind range bb ballistics clothing or armour. Just try again. He seems like an awesome player tactically and gets round the field well but the fact that he's obviously baiting people to bite and making content for YouTube through headshots dirty painful shots then running up and laughing (personally I always apologize for a nippy shot) to me let's what could be a genuinely awesome player down. Need the "hits" on the tube I suppose.1 point

Coloured Shims
Dan Robinson reacted to ak2m4 for a topic
I was thinking the other day what an arse it is for shims sizing identification. Toying with the idea of getting some samples made up for testing as I'm not sure how the aluminium / anodized material would hold up to the grinding of gears. Nothing complicated 0.1mm, 0.2mm, 0.3mm and 0.5mm all different colours. Think it's worth a punt? Would you be excited to use colour-coded shims? Few other solutions like laser etching but so hard to see for those of us who need old man glasses 🙂 not to mention more expensive.1 point -

ASG and Prometheus do them. I find it very easy to keep track of them; it just takes a bit of organisation. I would rather use a single 0.3mm than three 0.1mm; it makes it easier to try to work out where that odd one you always find after opening a gearbox came from.1 point -
147mm barrel to 350fps
Leo Greer reacted to Colin Allen for a topic
It works. I have done it on a couple of builds. I run a 125mm inner barrel M4 with an M105 spring, getting 1.02J. Sorting out airseals is cheap; better O rings, maybe a better fitting cylinder head and an O ring nozzle. Good airseals also help deliver more consistent power.1 point -
Something to give an example This will just be for some indoor & partially outdoor urban play this weekend and the footage just for posterity The camera is a generic SJ4000, upside down mounted on a rail mount. (It is set for upside down recording, so unless it resets itself the resulting footage will be the right way up) It’s mounted a long way forward. Which means it will be out of my hands way when gripping - but it can look like an odd position and won’t capture the barrel for ‘gun cam context’ @son of danSomething that none of us have mentioned is ‘tethers’. You should not rely on mounts, something will go wrong - especially when mounted in places out of your line of sight such as head mounts. Best practice is to use a mount plus secure a tether wire so that if something fails it hangs off rather than falling in a bush Ignore that I’m not practicing what I preach Another thing to consider is the lights. I’ll be in some dark underground areas so will be trying to remember to put some black electrical tape over the LEDs. The back screen is an option to black out - the disadvantage is switching off when thinking that you’re switching on. It does have a WiFi mode so its possible to check on a phone Also in use this weekend is a light Lights should of course be off for the majority of the time, not waving around giving away our positions - it’s for searching corners of dark rooms for props & goodies I was considering positioning the touch switch on the grip, and using a chopped up bicycle inner tube over the grip to hold it But instead I have gone for the elastic band that came with the inner tube and mounted on the side of the rail Tape is coming in case of emergency This allows for thumb contact to switch on Try to ignore the barrel. Those with a keen eye may notice the calibre1 point

@Liamcella96 With an inner barrel of that sort of length look at what people are doing with the G&G Firehawk. Stock this has a 120mm inner barrel, so to get any power from it as stock it also runs an M130 spring (it's the combination of the short inner barrel, strong spring and amplifier on the end that makes it so loud with a loud crack when firing). I've done a lot of work on my son's, which has now become his backup rifle, and with such a short barrel you'll only get genuine power increases with first the spring and then improving your air seal (however getting good improvements on your air seal costs money). Considering all the different inner barrels I've tried with the Firehawk I'd say that you'll want to buy both an M130 and M120 spring from https://www.ak2m4.co.uk/ to hit 1.14J (the M130 will take you very close to the limit, potentially even a little over). Also pulling such a strong spring you may want to consider, money permitting and what's already in the rifle, a full metal rack on the piston and a high torque motor.1 point

Either the sides get folded up a bit by the headband or you make cuts/do some sewing work.. or buy a really oversized hat to wear over it I guess? First 2 are what happens though, that's why folks wear either baseball caps under headsets or attach them to helmets. They're 2 items that are from different areas/eras of military kit.1 point -
Recommendation for affordable Headset
Tactical Pith Helmet reacted to Speedbird_666 for a topic
The minimum I would use (and actually currently use) are Howard Leights like others have said. Having had (and eventually selling) 3 sets of Peltor XPs over the years, the HLs are about 90% as good for a fraction of the cost. I have tried some cheap Aliexpress electronic Earpro (a Walker razor clone) and it was monoaural - so no situational awareness at all. Binned it off fairly sharpish.1 point -

Recommendation for affordable Headset
Tactical Pith Helmet reacted to TheFull9 for a topic
Of the 3, the Razors and Leights are probably what I'd steer people towards. I've been on the range with the Razors, can say they work for sure, the Howard Leights have been the go-to budget electronic ear pro for a lot of people for absolutely donkeys, see them all the time in the states; definitely proven - simple but effective. Neither are quite as fancily made as 3M or Sordin naturally but what you lose in electronics function and military application is made up for in price. Earmor on the other hand tries to do a full on tactical comms headset but at the sport ear defence price, reality is there's no free lunch and my guesstimation is that's why their reviews are all over the place. I get why that particular combo appeals to the airsoft market, 100%, but to me that's a product that'd only be for costume posing, not actually playing a game that involves pyrotechnics.1 point -

scope cameras or Gopro cameras
son of dan reacted to Tommikka for a topic
Start with a basic action camera, then learn what works for you. GoPro carries the name, and does have the right features and specs which come with the price to go with them Alternative action cameras are up to the job - all in recent years exceed the ‘quality’ of anything you would be showing them at - YouTube etc Old YouTube footage from 15 to 10 years ago which looks like it was filmed with a potato gets highlighted with much nostalgia value and You are dependant on the sensor and chip set. If you’re going in and out of buildings then the ‘better’ cameras will cope better with the change in light conditions - but anything current should cope in a reasonable time frame Most important is what you want to do with footage. Are you making a full film of all your awesome actions, telling the story of your day? Are you making a click bait kill cam video? Are you making training feedback footage to review what happened? Or do you just want to film some stuff and see what you get? The ‘best’ footage is of multiple angles - but means lots more editing. eg barrel cam - which mostly shows the ground and air, but gives shooting footage Reverse barrel cam - films you Sight cam - which gives zoomed in ground and air Head cam - which shows where you were looking, but can make people sick when you keep looking left, right etc, and will also show the tree or brick wall that you were hiding behind Body cam - similar to head cam without the left/right twitching but more bouncy (check the stablisation specs) Back cam - Strap a pole to your vest and mount a camera that films a 3rd person view Combine a few of those and you can edit a story - for the extra cost of multiple cameras and mounts plus edit time Alternatively forget all of those, get a generic action camera with case and an assortment of mounts. Try it in different positions and see what you get Note that a scope camera is ‘better’ when accompanied by another camera giving a wider view1 point -
He's a sadistic bastard who profits from causing misery and getting a rise by provoking people into a justifiably angry response. Deliberately making face/headshots when a large part rest of their body is exposed is bad sport. Emptying a full mag of an auto pistol on a player who has already called their hit then having a go later at another player doing the same to him is hypocrisy of the highest order. He could have taken it on the chin and said "I deserved that" or "That's karma getting me back" but instead he launched a verbal assault as if he had always acted in a virtuous manner. Singling out people who criticise him and calling on his followers to dox them is scumbaggery and cowardice. Short of stealing from other players, he could do little more to damage the image of airsoft to the layman. Boasting about the sites he's banned from isn't the flex he thinks it is.1 point

That it emerged that he's a racist piece of shit as well is absolutely in character for him.
