  4. I know, but it's more authentic, so I'd probably live with it unless it was really too low. That ACOG thingy is more more for function....which it proved today. 👍

  5. It's annoying that they're just grub screws into a soft metal that deforms extremely easily. It can't be that hard to make them from a stronger material and tap a thread?

    What are you driving?

I'm on my third Alfa Romeo. Wife had a 159, I had a 147ts and now I have a giulietta qv. It's very silly. I liken it to being married to a super model. 80% of the time it's awesome. 10 % of the time it's trying to bankrupt you 10% of the time it's trying to kill you... 😁🤪😂

Funnily enough I’m not a spammer of the trigger. I did think about changing co2 carts lots , last Sunday game I went to, I only shot about 210 bbs in the first game. 😂 could go 33g co2 but they are more expensive thanks.

  8. Well. Things didn't go as planned... I sat down today to start work on the DMR. I cleaned the gearbox shell and everything in it. Replaced the bushings/bearings with the nice new bearings from AK2M4 and reshimmed. The etched shims make it really easy to tell what you're using. The extra 0.5mm in bearing height didn't cause any issues with the selector plate so i'm happy about that. Compression set changed and is fantastic. Interestingly, the DMR version of the Masada has a quick change spring where I don't think the Carbine versions does. The spring guide I ordered is a non-quick change one so i'll sort that whenever, it's a 2 minute job to get to. Fuck ambidextrous selectors. I got it working but it can fuck right off. Test the mosfet to make sure it's seeing the different selector positions. Bingo. Pop the new motor in and gently bend the motor connections----SNAP. Ah for fuck sake. The little spade connector for the positive tab snapped rather than bending. Thankfully there's loads of spare wire for me to put a new one on tomorrow once i've paid halfords a visit.

    THE TM MWS thread

I have fitted a Prometheus 370mm 6.0mm barrel and NPAS to my MWS MK16 build. It is a DMR, normally putting out 1.8J on 0.48s, and the range and accuracy is outstanding. I also have an HAO 416 MWS, which has a 250mm 6.01 PDI barrel, and this rifle is equally impressive in terms of accuracy. I have also had good results from a 410mm Crazy Jet barrel in another of my MWS collection. As many people will say accuracy is down to bore quality, but tight bore barrels in gas rifles always make best possible use of the energy available. If you are going to run at sub 1.14J levels then a 370mm Prometheus barrel in either 6.03mm or 6.00mm form, will take you over the limit. An NPAS does give you the ability to tune the rifle accordingly - for example my HAO in the current 30 degree hot weather, had a 30% power increase which I could adjust through the NPAS.

    Show me your stock…

I use this battery however it's showing as no longer available so you may need to take the dimensions from this listing and use others on Amazon. If you have prime, you can order them with free delivery and their returns (if it doesn't fit) are super easy. The Strike Industries stocks are hard to find in stock. The main retailer won't ship to the UK from their shipping options and I can't find it anywhere other than Brownells who are asking £79.90. Specshop.pl are asking €93.75. I have a Strike Industries stock in my spares box. I'm surprised owners aren't trying to sell theirs at a huge premium. So you have mil-spec and com (commercial)-spec. Krytac, I believe, is mil-spec. Here's a comparison of the two. To fix any inaccuracies in measurements I use the 'soft' side of velcro on my buffer tube and force the stock onto it. Here's a couple pictures of my Krytac LVOA-C for reference. It wobbles a bit from left to right, only slightly but it doesn't "rattle like a MF". I had to do the same on my Specna Arms Mk18 custom build.

Says on the polar star website they are compatible , but 12g co2 , is it a DMR you’re going for ? You might find your changing co2 quicker than changing mags if it’s just a regular Sunday pew pew build.

  17. PADDY'S LAST WILL - Paddy was on his deathbed and knew the end was near. His nurse, his wife, his daughter and 2 sons are with him at his home in Belfast. He asks for 2 independent witnesses to be present and a camcorder be in place to record his last wishes. When all is ready he begins to speak: "My son Seamus, I want you to take the houses in Cultra." "My daughter Geraldine, you take the apartments over in Malone Road." "My son Patrick Junior, I want you to take the offices in the City centre." "Bridget, my dear wife, please take all the residential properties on the Upper Lisburn Road ." The nurse and witnesses are blown away. They did not realize the extent of Paddy's wealth. As he slips away, the nurse says to his wife, " Mrs O'Shaughnessy, my deepest condolences. Your husband must have been such a hard-working and wonderful man to have accumulated all this property".. "Property?”, his wife replies. “The bastard had a window cleaning round.

    New TM MWS announced

Don't really feel like I'm missing out as I've built my own variants, but I do wish they'd have been a bit more adventurous. Even changing the magazine to a P-mag would have been something. A gas MP5 has to be in the offing at some point, surely.

    Gun picture thread

So another British rifle added to the collection. To most its nothing special. "Just another M16vn"..... But here I have started to build a colt model 604. As issued to the British army in the late 60s, early 70s. Now the 604 is something of a Frankensteinian. It's neither a M16VN (XM16) or the later M16A1 (model 602). Main differences are compared to either the xm16 (VN) or the 602 (M16A2). The 604 comprises of a xm16 stock with a pivoting sling mount. Not the static version fitted to the later model 602. It also sports a partial fence. The XM16 was known as a slab side, where the 602 was a Full Fence. It also comes with an A1 barrel but still uses the early 3 prong (duck bill) flash hider. The British version also came with just plain export markings, aswell as being painted black with a paint called Suncorite. Now mine is still a work in progress. Ive had the markings filled. I'm still to source the correct rear sling mount, as well as the chromo smooth fake bolt. I then tried to replicate the suncurite paint best I could. As the real paint was just slapped on. I tried the same but in the pics looks smoother than it actually is. Only other thing is slings. Early version came with AR15 slings. But very quickly guys swapped these out for SLR slings. So will look at that in the future too. Next up. A British colt model 701. To most its just a M16A2.... It is, but not quite. Main difference being, the fire selection. The US issued A2 was colt model 702. Which externally are identical apart from the 702 was 3 round burst. Where the British issued 701 was full auto. Pictured here in use during OP barras in 2000. As far as I'm aware these where only purchased in small numbers, compared to the earlier colt model 715 (C7) which is still in wide use today. With mine, I've replicated the correct export markings along with with the correct "auto" one. Upper is just a standard G&P upper with a real A2 handguard.

  26. eh, i don't really see an issue with people wearing ghillies. end of the day if you don't know what you're at then draping yourself in mock hedgerow is going to offer the square total of bugger all assistance to your ability be concealed in the same way that owning a gucci set of screwdrivers doesn't make you a top tier airsoft tech. likewise someone who's gifted in the art of the sneak can become invisible almost entirely regardless of their choice of attire. this to me is separate from the other issue with ghillie wearers, to wit, the insistence of ankle armbands or other such lacking of identifiers. if the rest of us mere mortals are gonna have to wear a bright red armband to distinguish friend from foe then there should be no exceptions.

  27. It's part of the reason I don't wear my suits much any more, though I don't think I'll ever stop for good because I've been doing it for longer than most and it's what I enjoy. Also, my suits aren't the full blown bush wookiee suits and it annoys me whenever people are like "ah, so you don't run a proper ghillie" because I prefer the cape and hood style over turning myself into a bush; I hate those suits and they snag on everything when you crawl on your front. Every time I go to a game day, I see at the very minimum half a dozen ghillies but it is often upwards of 10 or 15 depending on the season (less people run them in summer because it's too hot). Considering the absolute maximum people we will have at Worthing is 85, if 15 are in ghillie suits that's starting to be a large portion of the players. I think the worst case I saw was about 22 ghillie suits on a day of about 60 players. I would love it if we had ghillie suits restricted to snipers, but for skirmish that's always going to be tough to do since skirmish is meant to be very "turn up with whatever kit you want and play BB wars" and I wouldn't want that to change. For more organised events like filmsim, battlesim or milsim stuff, I would limit them to snipers, using either using a bolt action sniper rifle or a DMR in a sniper role (locked to semi-auto and higher power, no 1J no MED DMRs even though I love them) and spotters (can have a regular rifle but must be paired with a bolt action / DMR sniper). I'd be hesitant though because it would encourage more people to run DMRs and there are a lot of trigger-spammy people who have no concept of what an MED is. That said, I don't think it's as simple as the ghillie itself. It's the playstyle that comes with it. Most I've seen will go out purely for kills without a care in the world as to what the objective is, and that's the real problem, especially if one team has more of these kill-obsessed bushes on their team as they will just get ruined on the objectives. For me, I tend to play the same with or without the suit and will always try and do something that will help my team with the objective beyond "I got 95328592 kills that game". Sometimes it's area denial (I will pick an area and deny it, even once the enemy stops going that way to force them into other areas for my team to take advantage of), sometimes it's cutting off reinforcements, sometimes it's sitting in a concealed position radioing in enemy movements to my team without firing a single shot, but it always will be based on what the objective is. Not all ghillies do this; they just suit up because they saw a Kicking Mustang video once and just go and see how many kills they can get.

  28. Raise with the head marshall/site manager for both of those instances. Blank fire can add to the immersion of the event, but I'm sure no site organiser would want to alienate customers who don't want it included. It might be that they add in a "we plan to allow X person to use their blank fire pistol today, if anyone objects X person won't" etc. The coloured zip tie thing is cheating other people's health and safety and absolutely has to be dealt with. If after being given the opportunity to manage these things they continue and the head marshall is aware. Name and shame the site on a forum/Facebook and vote with your feet by not returning. If you don't name and shame, it effectively encourages sites to bend for regulars etc and puts other players in a position of supporting a company that has practices that they wouldn't support or puts them at risk of serious injury.

  31. Made it to Driver Wood yesterday, and have to say it is one of the best Safe Zones I've seen, clean, plenty of covered tables, decent food and toilets too. Chrono was effective - my new G36 was too hot, my L85 needed a few mags run through it to calm it down too. The game zone was pretty damn good too with plenty of vehicles to play around and in (including two Sea King helicopters and a London bus. I was rather miffed to discover that the non hit taker I was about to call out was in fact stood behind a fully rolled up window, and there was now two hicaps worth of BBs sitting in the back seat of the open window I was shooting through. LOL. Show's it's worth checking before making a knob of yourself and complain unnecessarily (see story below). Sadly I just couldn't get into the feel of things apart from the last game of the day. Not sure if it was me having a lot on family wise at the moment and not having the boy with me, or if it was the worry of my knee giving up (which thankfully it didn't). Certainly not the fault of the site. Games started off with a TDM, then various item acquisition and domination games. One criticism I do have though is that the attitude to spawn camping by the marshals was rather soft. Our team seemed to always end up pinned down to a certain extent, but to be fair the green team were much more organised and pushed forward much harder than our team at the beginning of each game giving them the upper hand. The best game of the day for me, was the Escort the VIP. Said VIP had to reach certain locations and stay there for 5 minutes before moving on. We had one amusing incident where I was helping him through the CQB area and we were firing as we moved. A guy (who was on his third day in a row thanks to NAF and possibly "tired and emotional") was rather upset that he thought we were on full auto whilst slot shooting him. We (then a marshal) politely pointed out that we were both on semi, and that shooting him through the slot he was hiding behind was perfectly OK, as well as the fact we were in the open at the time. His whining then went on to rate of fire, seeing as he lost all other arguments; and that the slot shooting rule was not explained to him properly. At which point the VIP and I just wandered off to have fun elsewhere. Especially ironic as his team were not the greatest at hit taking and we had been taking full auto hits all afternoon without moaning; plus there was some very dodgy hit taking and a lot of blind firing from one of his pals who was holding the big tower in an earlier game. For what it's worth the slot shooting rule is the same at every other site I have played, so why he thought it was any different here I don't know. My new fan-equipped eye pro, courtesy of @mightyjebus proved to be very effective. The only issue was the unavoidable "raining" on the lenses when the sweat was really pouring; but no amount of anti-fog is going to help with that unless wipers are fitted. A gentle draft across the lenses kept them nice and clear, with no problem of the eyes drying out. Pew of the day was the DE 904 - whilst a little short on range, the accuracy and shot consistency more than made up for it. Specna and L85 were working well, although for some reason BBs were veering off more than usual once they got past 30 metres or so. Shame to have missed @ASP383and @Asomodai, maybe another time? Will certainly try and get there again as it happens to be just off a short cut I take when I drive to my dad's house -so I have been driving passed it unawares for years LOL. I know the boy would love it because of the vehicles. One last amusing occurrence was a bunch of guys doing an paintball stag (judging by the outfits) do came up to me and asked if us airsofters were on some kind of military training - my reply was "nope just like you guys but with more realistic guns and better value for money" which is when I noticed their surprising collection of deactivated weapons for a picture - including what looked an awful lot like an AT4 rocket launcher and a Mauser anti tank gun.
