  1. Thing is though, he's got the right idea, weekend warriors will absolutely want replicas of the latest Royal Marine weapon. Wouldn't surprise me if he sells all of them, a fool and his money and all that....

  2. He wants all that, & then expects you to shell out more to guarantee it shoots straight & at a reasonable fps. FFS.

  5. Dude, I TOTALLY get it, I got my G3 cos the IDF used to use G3s/FALS and I hate the look of AUGs, which they now use. Totally understandable, but we didn't pay STUPID money. (Though my G3 is GBBR so.... not cheap)

  6. So that's almost an extra grand over normal price for a rail, paint job and suppressor. I guess he's only making 6 as that's how many people he can find who are dumb enough to pay that much

  8. Insert just like the real thing comment here* Agreed. A quick google search shows that's not far off the price for a real one *Full disclosure, I've zero experience with a real L85 I'm just making a cheap joke based on the rifle's reputation

  9. I also have to laugh at how seemingly desperate DCA appears. One measly Royal Marine promo image comes out, and straight away he's making plans to build (and overcharge) airsoft replicas based on it. It's not even a very interesting rifle.

  10. How dissappointed would you be to buy that, show up at the next game thinking you were gonna stand out with your limited edition faithful replica only to realise most people arent going to notice just another green m4.......

  11. 1911 slide stops have an extended bit so that the magazine follower is engaged on empty. Hi capa slid stop doesn't so won't engage a 1911 mage follower on empty. the both how ever fit with no issue in the opposite gun.

  14. Just finished my second VSR-X build. VSR-X base, Maple Leaf MLC-S2 chassis, TRYBE 3-18x50 scope, Black Collar Arms Priapus Grip with brown grip tape, MidTen Mlok Bipod, Vortex Optics bubble level, Victoptics 1.93" scope mount, Novritsch A3 Amber leaf kit, Runcam2 4k 35mm, BrainExploder RunCam Picatinny mount, Maple Leaf MLC spare mag holder (faux magazine), Maple Leaf TDC top rail mount (TDC disabled since VSR-Xs dont have those), heavily-modified ActionArmy 50rnd VSR mags. Built for a lower power, lighter weight Scout Sniper kit than my other CSR-X, which shoots about 3.2J. This one’s more like 2.5J. All the leaves are somewhat-easily removable should I want to convert it to a more Urban build. Shoots BBs as heavy as .69gs, lowest it'll run on is about .46gs. I have a new Flecktarn uniform to pair with it for some lighter weight sniping; I tried lightweight kits for the first time last year and whew do the knees like it. Full kit should be done in about a week.

  16. Did you read the comments on the youtube vid that Colin posted? There seems to be a couple of solutions to the issue. Must admit I never paid much attention you were having coz you put L82 in the title, My L86A2 failed & was fixed in seconds by my local tech simply because one of the contacts hadn't sprung back in place after I refitted the lower. (not related to your issue but worth knowing as it seems to be a common issue too).

  17. Thanks for the replies guys, I have been working on the assumption that because I neglected to screw in the small screw that allows you to adjust the motor depth, it ended up not touching the gears and span inside, based on the whirring noise I heard on trigger pull. I can't confirm anything of course. I don't believe the polarity was reversed as there is a positive marker on the side of one of the motor connections along with a red marking which I attached the red wire to and the black on the other side. After tomorrow's game I'll pull the motor out of my other AEG and test the MP5's motor on those wires.

  21. I did chuckle at the irony.... Several people made a similar observation at REDCON 2 the other day ?? Truthfully that's why I got the style of L85 I got.... I really want a blowback version, but I didn't want the realism that much that it was going to cost me silly money. I had a very hard limit on what I was willing to spend, and. I wasn't goi g to pay the kinda money a SUSAT or ELCAN goes for.

  22. Just as an aside, the VFC pin is 22mm wide. Turns out that's quite narrow. The pin from my CA Scarab and my CA M16A3 are both different and wider. So buying the oem one is very much the safest bet It's the VFC stock rubber, I just thought it would be good to have as spare new one, given it was so little extra on the order.

  24. Agreed. "Desperate" is the wrong word. How funny would it be that something on this very expensive replica is incorrect because he didn't wait for a few more images and angles of the thing.

  26. Totally silly, but stuff like Bolster Armouries has shown that there's enough dumbasses in this "sport" to perpetuate the fleecing.

  27. True. Still a silly price though

  28. £1249, no optic, no mlok panels if Im reading it right and oh by the way he's also offering a £100 upgrade package for extra. Nah mate. For that money Im expecting recoil. Lock back on empty (at the very least simulated) oh and no real need to pay extra for upgrades.

  29. +1 for WAS. I've been rolling with my DCS for a while now for a CTPSW impression and it's honestly pretty good. It gets very warm in the summer though. In the heatwaves we've had my WG turns MCB from sweat. It's not a great look. I'm thinking about picking up a FCPC V5 but I really can't justify dropping £400+ on all the parts right now

  32. I’ve got my spare too, as I had similar thoughts. I guess it is possible with a bit of aluminium and some self tapping screws or tiny bolts. Hmmmmmm…..

  33. Well, new unit arrived and fitted - comparing the two it all makes sense now. Apart from me not really knowing how that spring does its job, but never mind. What I'm also now thinking, if I can undo the 5 screws on one side, could that plastic wall be reconstructed? Or will all manner of springs and wizardry come flying out? If that would be OK, purely from the flying component stand point? Then we would have a spare unit on hand. Looking at it a bit more, there is sod all material there forming the tunnel for the slider and holding that spring back. I'm wondering, if you can't remove the side panel, if I can just put the slider back in without the spring, build up some material in a way that the slider can still slide, then get the spring back in. Any suggestions on the best thing to use to build up the missing piece of plastic?

  34. Does that lad also reckon he got Cerakote done for £20? Even Fifewargames charge £75 for a rifle. I also like how he claims 45rps but the gun's broke atm because of the shredded piston teeth so he can't actually prove it's capable of that ROF. To boot, it's not even the full metal CG16 version of the Predator. Why are the pictures such low quality too?

  38. https://www.usedairsoft.co.uk/rif-s/electric-powered/gg-preditor-high-speed-build_i48895 I believe the AFUK term is "wanker gun" ? 45+ rps "in its prime" (supposedly "was/still is" capable of that no mention whatsoever of measured FPS or J "£20 max fix" to get it working ? it just "needs some love" ? And the crème de la crème... TIL as soon as you stop playing airsoft, you lose not only any repair skill you had, but also lose the ability to get anyone else to do repairs for you. Who knew?! ?

  39. Another fun evening at Bunker 51 last night. There was about 20 people on site which given the size is probably around the maximum before things get too crowded. As my gas shotgun had magically fixed itself I ended up using that for most of the night and never really felt I was at a disadvantage going up against aegs etc. One other thing I liked was the new rule (well new since my last visit) of only 1 grenade per player per game as it means doors have to be breached, rather than ending up with bangs being lobbed back and forth. The only negative was in the usual last game of the night where full auto is allowed there did seem to be a couple of players who were a bit slow to come off the trigger after hits were called but overall it didn't ruin the night

I'm waiting for the fixed carry handle MWS! I can't believe they tooled up the 20rnd magazine and didn't follow up with car15 or early m16. Plus they have the AKM for the bad guys to use.
