  4. Sorry I didn't get to put a face to your name again - or are you were avoiding me? 😜 Fantastic morning with the games working really well with the low numbers. First game of infected saw me as one of the zombies, so I felt great delight when I saw the fruit of my loins cowering in a tent... Just inside of my pew's "ow that hurts range" 😈. He was not best pleased when he found out it was me. LOL The Zone holding game in the morning was epic with the Blue team clearing us out of the first zone pretty quickly, for us to hold the second zone indefinitely. I suffered a knife kill in the first zone as I was hiding under a tarp, but one of my boots was poking out. Sad times - but I know the perpetrator and will get revenge. Me, and a couple of others were holding the second objective with the rest of the team forming a defensive line; and the poor medics running overtime to keep us in the game. I enjoyed very much taking out a Tree Wookie (not sure where I heard that first, but I'm using it from now on for Ghillies) who kept running down the same path to the same cover - must have been 5 times at least. LOL. He got me later though when I didn't feel a hit on my pouch from his pistol, so he shot me in the arse point blank. Fairs fair though. A bunch of rentals turned up in the afternoon who had a liberal attitude to hit taking - it certainly wasn't present in the morning - but with the overall numbers that low, it was easy enough to ignore and enjoy the games. Although some were a bit salty on both teams. The subsequent reversal of the zone game saw the Blues take an age to be routed from zone 1 (although they had a slightly easier job as it was a different part of the map to the morning which is harder to overrun). Pretty sure @RostokMcSpoonsand I exchanged a few kills too.... Not sure if he was one of those that lit me up as I tried to get to an extraction tent at one point. Literally got to within a few feet of the door when all hell broke loose in the form of full auto from what felt like half a dozen guns. Damn my choice of short sleeves LOL. L85 and Specna were my pews of choice, lending my SVU and Auto 9 to my buddy for his second serious outing of Airsoft after last weeks inauguration. His eldest had a DE Honey badger and I lent mine to his youngest. Good to see them enjoy the day too as they had only had a 2 hour session at a place in Reading which they apparently were not impressed with when it came to comparative organisation with Spec Ops. The SVU was shooting on the limit and apparently very accurately despite a weird malfunction with a mag not allowing the trigger to spring back, and I've discovered my L85 has a ridiculous rate of fire with the field chrono reading 35rps at one point on an 11.1 battery. This explains why I chomped through so many BBs. The Jerk Chicken and Burger lunch was awesome too - both helpings (sorry @RostokMcSpoonsLOL). According to the old smart watch I managed 12 miles yesterday, although 2 were walking someone else's dog and a significant amount of the rest was running, so I was amazed at how relatively fresh I was feeling this morning. It must be the new boots and lighter weight rig I got from the other threads. Either that or my fitness levels are increasing.

  5. Preach. Once you've accepted that airsoft QC and compatibility means "within about 3mm", you can just go straight to the file, sandpaper and shimming tape.

  6. When I had this issue a while back, it turned out there were two causes- the 'storm' style grip was indeed very tight on my motor of choice- sand paper on the inside of the grip solved that; and the neck of the motor was too tight on the corresponding hole at the top of the grip which I had to open out/bore a touch wider. If you haven't changed your motor and/or grip before the problem appeared though, disregard this post!

  7. The CFP-90 Patrol pack. On the first generation of Lowe Alpine packs this was design to sit above the main bag lid. It tended to ride forward and push the wears head/helmet down. The main change on the gen two was to move β€œdocked” position to the back. This is a simple frameless bag. As wide as it is deep with basic shoulder straps. Pretty much square and intended to sit above belt line. It has a draw cord on the outside to cinch the edge in a bit. The main pocket is zip closure with a double external flap. Inside has a slot with a thin foam pad and straps to hold a radio, antenna port on the left top. The outside pocket is big and will easy log hold several complete MRE packs or wet weather gear. It has a draw cord and buckle secured lid. The patrol pack is a very simple item and relatively, for a military bag, quite light. It does give you enough capacity for a day hike with guns.

  11. As the standard design expects the height adjustment to work, then surely it must have just been put in to the pistol grip incorrectly, with a wire out of place? It's quite easy to get the wire down the side of the motor rather than across the top (but routed correctly around the terminals etc)

  12. Not really - as a bottle of wine and a significant G&T later, I can't remember where I put it for safe keeping. *sigh*. Still the gun worked yesterday, albeit it sounded like a cat being swung by its tail - but I know that is down to the motor height and the gearbox maybe needing a shim.

  13. The CFP-90 Combat Field Pack 1990 (ish). This is the US issue β€œBergen” for the end of the Cold War and part of the IIFS kit. My thanks to Messers Pie & Hatchet, of the legal firm Hatchet, Pie & Sausage. The back. Or the front. The other side but not the sides. The Carry Fucking Plenty is a two part pack system. The above is the main 110L, 70lbs+ capability main bag. The add on assault pack will be below. For scale the pack pictured is holding two full military winter sleeps uncompressed. This one is the Gen 2 Specialty Defense model and comes in ever fashionable US Woodland. Features: Ajustable back system with aluminium stays and padded hip and shoulder straps. A step up from the green tick but care is needed to avoid breaking the black plastic Y-yoke. Lower compartment extends up into the pack (the internal shelf can be opened) that will hold the full MSS. Main compartment with radio slot, snow collar and hydration/comms ports. Map pocket in lid. Pass through slots on the sides for skis/antenna’s/long thin things. Right hand side long sustainment pocket. Left hand side two shorter utility pouches. Empty in the photos above, full below. Drawcord and compression straps on these pockets. Three rows of ALICE/molle compatible webbing. And ice axe loops. The CFP-90 is a great pack. It never fully replaced ALICE and was eclipsed quite quickly by the first issue of molle. By all accounts a better carry than and Alice frame but not as modular as either it or the later molle offerings. Essentially it was retired for being too good. US troops just don’t TAB 100 miles with a ton of gear. They have cruise missies and helicopters.πŸ˜‰

    Maruyama ACP9K GBB

I was planning on writing this after using it in a game but I got man-flu so obviously I was dying and couldn't make the game day but I'll do a mini-review anyway since I've been messing around with it and put about 20 mags worth through it. A bit about the Real Steel version: β€œAPC” is an acronym for β€œAdvanced Police Carbine.” The β€œK” stands for β€œKurz,” or β€œshort,” and β€œB&T” is the shortened name for BrΓΌgger & Thomet of Switzerland. The APC9 was introduced to Europe in 2011 in 9mm, and was quickly engineered for .40 S&W and .45 ACP offerings. The standard model's barrel length measured 7 inches and featured a right-side folding polymer stock. A carbine variant with a 16-inch barrel was also developed for the commercial market, as well as integrally suppressed models. I've seen this advertised as the SCW-9 and the APC9 however if you follow the B&T naming convention this this is actually the B&T SMG ACP9 K PRO G. Which translates as a Sub Machine gun made by Brugger and Thormet called a Advanced Police Carbine in 9 x 19 mm calibre with a Kurz barrel with a Glock Magazine lower receiver and the PRO part is anyone's guess. So there is now an airsoft GBB version of the B&T SMG ACP9 K PRO G made by Maruyama. Well I have no idea who Maruyama are and the box claims it was designed in Japan and built in Taiwan. Is this actually a VFC built GBB? It takes VFC style Glock Magazines but apart from that fact I don't see anything that screams out VFC. I think it might be a new company called Maruyama but I could be wrong and time will probably tell. Ok, so on with the review. What do you get in the well packaged brown box? The GBB SMG, a 50 round magazine and a fake silencer/suppressor, oh and a little allen key to adjust the hop. You might have noticed there are no markings on the SMG. I guess this is to get around any trademark issues outside of Japan. The silencer is actually a inner barrel extension and has an effect on the FPS when attached. With the magazine filled with 144a gas and the magazine temperature at 21C, the FPS is 290 which is pretty consistant. By adding the silencer this jumps to 355 so you get a 70 FPS boost by fitting the silencer on average. As you can see below the silencer can be stripped down and the inner barrel removed if you want to keep the FPS down or add a tracer to the inside of the silencer. One thing to note is the silencer is very tight to get on and off. I think this is down to the paint and should become easier are the paint wears down over use. I have a few different VFC glock magazines and they all fit and work fine. I actually prefer the Maruyama magazine over the VFC mags and in fact I just ordered some more as they are cheaper than the VFC 50 rounders and seem to work very well. The Maruyama mag works well in my VFC pistols just in case anyone was wondering. TM/WE/Raven mags don't fit this GBB. VFC G19X mag in the GBB VFC Glock 19 Gen 3 in the GBB Adjusting the hop is easy and involves putting the supplied allen key in the hole in the front of the receiver and turning left or right to get the desired hop effect. The good news is that you don't need to disassemble the GBB to adjust and it can be done on the fly with a magazine loaded. The other plus side is the hop unit has no issues hopping 0.3g BB's and I've tried a bunch of different BB makes and had 0 jams, 0 splitting and 0 malfunctions. In fact I've had zero malfunctions with about 20 odd mags through it. It's a very reliable little GBB. Inside the wear seems to be minimal after 20 odd magazines. I don't see anything to cause concern right now. wear near the barrel is minimal. The grey is a mixture of paint wear and grease. the bolt front shows the same paint wear and grease The rear of the bolt shows wear from hitting the buffer. there is hardly a mark on the trigger group. My conclusion: Weirdly it didn't come with any iron sights as standard. You can't find B&T iron sights that easily so the closest will be the IWI polymer flip up sights if you want to run irons. I don't know why this bothers me so much function and fitment are spot on. Zero complaints from me and it has a nice recoil to boot. Accuracy is about the same as a GBB pistol but slightly better as it has a stock attached. Range is decent but BB weight and gas used with vary the results. Negatives: Probably spare internal parts long-term will be a problem and I wish the selector lever was metal instead of polymer but that's just nit-picking. On the Mightjebus review scale it's a solid 4 out of 5. p.s. The Omega 9 tri-lug tracer silencer fits and works very well on this GBB.

  16. Usually, the wires will both sit at the rear of the grip behind the motor. Whichever wire comes out the front-most hole in the gearbox will bend to sit flat underneath the motor (parallel with the base) and then loop upwards the the rest of the grip. It doesn't matter which way round the motor sits, so long as the wires connect to the correct terminal. (In case you're short on length for one wire).

  21. used it this weekend at the UCAP Vendetta site. Worked flawlessly and had zero issues. The only negative was I only has 1 x 50 rounder and the other 4 mags being G17 & G19 mags which meant I had to do a tactical withdrawl (run away) to reload the mags in a safe place. I was using .28g tracers and it was hopping them very well.

Sorry @Dan Robinson, I didn't realise who you were, but now I've seen the photos I do recall unleashing a sustained stream of fire at you during your daring, if optimistic dash to the exfil-point-tent during the Church choke-point game. Next time I'll try a more standard form of introduction and come and say hello. This is me and the boy (an image that doesn't really give much in the way of distinguishing features I grant you):

  24. Nathan and I had a chuckle about that (or possibly a similar event later). He said that when I bolted out of cover, a split second later there was just a wall of BBs flying past that formed an arc as I legged it up a path. Mind you there is a possibility that when you're sprinting through brambles, the impact from BBs might not be as noticeable as the adrenaline and thorns etc. My forearms at the end of the day were testimony to that chance.

  27. Have they installed it incorrectly? The wires should both be on the same side of the motor and then the wires loop around the top to fit. I've seen people sometimes wire it so that there's a wire on both sides of the motor, which will trap it tight.

  28. Sweet. Thanks - might start using them in mine then.

  29. Yeah I'm afraid I did light you up Dan, but it was mostly your fault πŸ˜‹. I'd opened up at you earlier in the game full auto (at a sensible distance), and you'd Matrixed / lucked your way through the bullet stream... I wasn't going to let that happen again when an objective was at stake! Good news with the ICS Scarab, I've just been preparing to do a spring swap to improve on the low chrono reading, but I thought I'd give it another test. Turns out it had loads of hop wound on, and it's actually hitting 310 FPS with 0.20s when it's set sensibly. I'm looking forward to trying it again. I just have to choose between shimming the magwell so it'll take the flash mags, or using my recently acquired set of polymer midcaps. Given the enjoyable RoF I suspect it'll be the former!

    Franchi Spas 12

Tokyo Marui, KTW and Sheriff all made full size Spas 12s with folding stocks. TM stocks were available separately as well as boxed together with the gun. Octagon airsoft cloned the TM stocks. They're expensive but you couldn't make one for less. The photo is a TM with some Sheriff bits. Unless you mean fixed stocks then only KTW did those.

  34. Well I'll be honest, turning up at Spec Ops today with more guns than I could actually count (probably nine) was a stupid, stupid, STUPID idea. Best intentions and all that, but I didn't even get to shoot a couple of them at the range! And carrying all those gun cases gave me most of the back pain I suffered when I got home πŸ˜‹ Anyway, usual good news / bad news scenario.... Good news: Usual super friendly welcome from Carlos, Will, Nathan and Jet, and of course @Dan Robinson and his son and friends Bad news: The. ICS Scarab has a crazy nice rate of fire, but it seems that's due to a fecked spring, it was only hitting 200fps on 0.28's New spring should sort that out. I think it has a quick change system so should be fine. My beloved VFC HK416 has not been improved by the new hop rubber. It's become... Naughty... Sometimes it does well, sometimes it drops BBs at my feet. I suspect it's the wrong size and not sealing well. I started the first game with it, but swapped out to Old Reliable, Mr Eagle Good news / Bad news: The SIG was excellent on the range, and at lunchtime when I stayed on the game site to do some long range testing it could hit out to the same range as the DE, though a little more dispersion. Bad news was when push came to shove I still picked up the DE BAD NEWS: Messing with my guns at lunch made me miss the burgers and jerk chicken. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo πŸ˜₯ Good news: I played with my Rossi sniper rifle for quite a while. Racked up a bunch of kills from the sniper tower and really enjoyed myself with what is quite a basic rifle. Appetite whetted for a better one! @Rogerborg's Tac-41 might find itself on my shopping list! Smallish player numbers today, again that was quite good news in terms of allowing a team to make a successful break through. Very enjoyable day!

  38. The screws in my Well MB-02 were the most useful parts, and sadly half of them fell out. These guns are the exemplar of why there's no such thing as a cheap bolt action, at least beyond the first few starry eyed game where it just needs one more thing, then it just needs one more thing, then it just ne- aww, the sears have stripped, or the stopper has wallered out. Fortunately I stopped before I'd thrown too much money at mine, skipped the uPgRaDe path, and went straight to a TAC-41.

I have a Lancer Tactical LT-12, which I bought second hand a couple of years to see if they were as bad as they were supposed to be. The gearbox is standard and actually pretty decent, with a QC spring that can actually be changed without removing the gearbox from the receiver. It has a rotary hop that is not as good as the ZCI version but does the job well enough, especially when paired with a ML Macaron rubber and nub. Except for the outer barrel, the externals are entirely plastic, albeit of decent quality. I would rate it as being somewhat better than a basic G&G Combat Machine at a much better price.

It's not hugely obvious that there even is a classifieds here, let alone a wanted section, and the spambot check that stops you getting access to it is also fairly obfuscated.
