To add to this, as we're all not 100% certain of Evolution's quality, the G&G Firehawk is a good example to use. The Firehawk has a 120mm inner barrel and it compensates for this by having an M130 spring in it, which is a hugely powerful spring for an AEG. My son's Firehawk has shot over 100,000 BB's in its 2 1/2 year lifespan, the gearbox shell and gears are fine, but I'm seeing wear on the piston teeth now to the point where I really need to replace it. Also he's now running a 200mm inner barrel and uses 0.28g BB's, with a suppressor and outer barrel extension to hide it, so the stumpy CQB nature of it is gone (and it's a better performing AEG for it).2 points

First time up at RedAlert. I will be back, likely the bodies I that chauffeured me will be back before I am, which is rude. So a quick and dirty run down. Loved it. We did well and managed to get a great space in the safe zone, to be moved on saying there is a couple of parties, went to actual safe some to loose out on the last table. Fine, compressed kit and found a spot to stand in, passed by @Skullchewer and some of the Outcasts, nice to meet you. banter is very light hearted, even people asking for small favours or borrow X or y. The whole feel was very welcoming. safety brief, well it's a safety brief... they give good expectations as to turn time on games, but as always, it's herding cats. first game is fast and a great wake up, lemmings they called it. Fun. Touch the police van, sat in the middle of the town with very clear field of fire surrounding it! I'll say this for the town, it is a great set up, lots of smaller buildings couple of taller ones many hiding spots and many ways of getting shot. Good fun it did feel like the reds (us) were going to get steam rolled as the yellows did take a some great angles to get them in. turn it more fun but I did find the "incline" repetitive 😂. back in and new game - move box from a - b catch is (and I really liked this) carriers are designated and can only change at spawn. Defended first, intense heavy constant fire. Loved it. Anyway theme of the day was fun. First aid response was great (my brother cut himself open on a knee slide, the second one that day). Great showing from all involved. do recommend, would have liked to explore the whole site, our day was very town centric but loved it. The paintball parties didn't interfere at all. oh, and the rolling storm the fort? Very fast game. Smiled all the way through even if I did manage to stick myself in from of a number of people, and I know it looked bad as the reaction was "that sharp intake of breath" rather than a bit of a giggle, and yes it feels like a bruised rib and yes I did move my toy gun out of the way and take the impact on my rig....it made sense at the time.2 points -

Also, the circumstances behind the theft may be important, for example was this a random garage break-in, or a targeted theft by a potential buyer ?1 point

I did ask the ec rep about it and she just laughed and said "no". However you never really know with Chinese companies which are under very strict operating laws, I wouldn't be surprised. What's MOS btw?1 point

So, after my Double Eagle springer died on me after a few shots, I still had an itch for a 'humiliation' / 'have a laugh' gun for my armoury. This thing popped up in the Action Hobbies boneyard for a tenner and as I've already got another itch for a 'proper' 1911 just to fidget with, this appeared to be a two-birds-with-one-stone scenario... Quite a tidy little pot-metal springer for a few quid I thought. Then I tried to look this model up on-line to see how much it normally goes for... it's made by Vigor. Plastic versions go for £12 brand new, and the 'all metal' is a mere £17 !!! (Probably not this exact model. I couldn't find one with the crosses on the hand-grip. Which are ridiculous, but then again it's cheesy enough to fit in with the intended 'humiliation' usage ☺️) So not actually much of a bargain in the pricing then. The real surprise though is how it shoots - really quite well! It's got a fixed hop-up because the thing has no trouble popping shots (0.20g) at > 17m. The fact it's perhaps slightly over-hopping is about the only thing stopping me from hitting an A4 target with any consistency. It shoots better than the DE spring rifle I had! (Loading the BBs into the mag is a bit weird and awkward though) If there's any out there who wants to carry a secondary just for the looks and the occasional close-range or last ditch shot, well, maybe the Vigor pistols are worth a pop... of course this might shit the bed at any minute, I'll let you know1 point -
@BigStewYes I know mate, but if he’s asking for a valuation then clearly he’s interested in selling his rifle, hence why I said name your price and we can talk business. Besides you never know if you don’t ask.1 point

This is the second post this week (across this forum and reddit) i've seen of gear being stolen. A guy on reddit said he uses Apple Airtags or Samsungs equivalent to track his gear on gamedays if he's leaving it in a 'safe zone' but not locked up. Can't help but feel this is a good idea going forward minus chaining your gear to a tree. Always take pics of your guns/gear so people know what to look for in the event of it getting picked up by sitck fingered bastards.1 point

Just received my TTi TP22, very impressed, feels very nice in the hand. It’s basically a g18c but the barrel dosen’t move and it has an optic mount on it, it has a 14mm ccs thread on the barrel (the cover nut is quite tight mind). It also has an externally adjustable hop, Not sure if I like the mags fill valve being just below the gas valve. Cannot wait to test it out1 point -
Playing with expensive kit...

Same argument as "garaging" a nice car over winter. Genuinely dont see the point. Someone designed it (more or less!) to be used. Get in, start it up and drive it. Met a guy with an old porsche 911 that had 500,000+ miles on it. It just got used every day. It broke. He fixed it. kept going. Granted i dont have any rifs that go past £300 but theyre all there to be used.1 point -
TM MP7 not always locking back
Justjay1986 reacted to Schnitz for a topic
Mine does this when it needs cleaning. Take it apart and clean everything. Once you got rid of all the excess oil and grease, just lube the piston head and the outside of the bolt lightly. My particular mp7 likes to be quite dry. Also it might be that the bolt is moving too fast for the catch to have time to engage. When it is cold I use abbey Predator and when it is above 20c I use nuprol 1 or 144a. If I use regular green gas I find my bolt doesn't lock back1 point -
@Davegolf you are one of the most respected people on this forum, not to mention helpful in dispensing advice. I understand how much this must have pissed you off, but this guy seems like the equivalent of a wasp buzzing around your pint in a beer garden; annoying but ultimately not enough to ruin your day.1 point

As part of my promise to get him to as many fields as we can before he leaves, the boy and I were there yesterday too. Was very impressed by the safe zone and the Marshalls. Struggled with the morning games which I am putting down to not knowing the map, and suffering a few technical issues (one of his AEG's was firing whilst in safe mode and without pulling the trigger, which I think is a dodgy mosfet) and my Double Eagle was more a Splatter Gun than a rifle. There were a couple of teenagers "shooting a video" which was their excuse for being thoroughly annoying by playing music during the game play, but I managed to keep out of their way for most of the day. Really enjoyed the last game as our team had to get a stretcher with kings hats on it, across the majority of the map with the Blue team, I assume, on a rolling retreat. My Specna was on form shooting nice and straight, but not as far as liked. Was pretty impressive to see the food van clearing the queue, and this was the biggest number I've seen on a gameday at one event too. We should be going back to AP for the two day event at the end of the month, although I'm not sure how my legs will cope. I have a thermal camera for work ,so that will make night ops an interesting one - although I'm a little worried about the lens LOL. Had a god day at Reforger the other week too, although I didn't get many kills. I nearly put an end to my chances of being a grandfather when I lobbed a smoke grenade to cover the Boy's final sprint to the objective (suicide bombing the plane) only for it to land short - right between his legs and nearly cauterised his family jewels. It's a shame we're out of sync with our regular sites' gamedays, but once SWMBO has fecked off for the summer I can sneak in extra days - but mum's the word on that one 😁.1 point -

Yesterday, 260 of us turned up at Airsoft Plantation for a day's play. The large safe zone managed to hold everyone but it was fortunate that the weather was good as a fair number of players had to set up in the open. As AP is a large site, it was able to absorb such a large number of players without feeling crowded; games were vaguely coronation themed to the extent that they involved kings and crowns, the titles on which included such well known British monarchs as Burger King and Porn King. Both sides played hard and well and hit taking appeared to be good. As usual, the marshalling was on point, being relatively low key but always where and when it was required. At lunchtime, the food van served 240 people in an hour, which is pretty impressive; apparently, the food is very good, although I cannot vouch for that as I always take my own. For me, one of the highlights of AP is the rapport among the players; the site seems to attract the "right type" of player, whatever that is. This morning, I went to an airsoft boot fair in Kent; despite being somewhat on the small side, there was a good selection of items for sale, including something that I had been seeking for a while. I bumped into a couple of folk who still play at sites where I used to marshal; one of the sites appears to have improved massively due to investment from the current owners so a trip down there is being scheduled. Weapons used: APS UAR LCT PP-19-01 No weapons were melted or burned after yesterday's play.1 point -
