I'd be more surprised if a thread did stay on topic Sorry, byt the Tiger has to be the most overrated tanks of ww2. Yes it was well armed and had decent armour, but the Maybach engine was underpowered, unreliable and over engineered. This meant it was slow and drank fuel like it was going out of fashion. All this meant that the tanks at the front were reliant on long complicated supply train where advances were limited due to fuel issues and tanks needing repairs to be taken all the way back to Germany. Also there's the sheer weight of the vehicle. At 50 tonnes many bridges were simply unable to hold that weight. Another problem with the Tiger is the production cost. A single Tiger cost the same as 2 panzer 4s or 4 Stug 3s4 points -

I've done some experimenting with different types of lubrication on my VFC PSG1 (Which, like it's real steel counterpart, is basically a heavily modifed G3) to find out what would work best, and this is the results. Same might be true for other platforms aswell. -Charging Handle- Test: 25 Cycles •PTFE Grease works great but I've found that you need to use more than you should have to. •Ceramic Grease works great too, but it makes the whole thing look strange as this is a visible part and the grease is completely white. •Silicone Grease doesn't last quite as long as the other two but very little goes very far, it is also the cheapest. Winner: Silicone Grease -Bolt Carrier- Test: 50 shots Note: All tests were performed without a magazine as the magazine itself gives resistance from the nozzle passing over the gas seal. •PTFE Grease works very well and gives a smooth cycle. very very slight metal on metal noise. No gritty feel. •Ceramic Grease works exceptionally well in my case. No metal on metal noise or gritty feel. •Silicone Grease works great to begin with, however I found it is not as smooth as the other two when used on the bolt carrier. It has a slight noise similar to the PTFE Grease and has no gritty feel, however it feels slightly "sticky". Winner: Ceramic Grease -Trigger Assembly- Test: 50 Pulls •All types of grease perform about the same. Ceramic Grease lasts the longest but performs about the same as the others. Conclusion: Instead of a conclusion, here is an important part. Not Too Much! I did this mistake many times thinking it would last longer. Remember what grease is meant to be when the application is metal sliding against metal. A thin, protective film, and not a pile smeared on like you would find in a gear assembly. Just like with a real firearm, overlubrication will make your gun feel gritty and/or sticky and possibly even cause failure if taken to the extreme.3 points

It's why I gave up historic re-enactment. The groups I was in were always trending towards "professionalism", i.e. committing to providing clients with more numbers, bigger living history displays, and showier arena performances. It got to the point where we were prepping and loading vans days before big events, and staying on after weekends to tear down, as the chap running each group tried to turn it into a career. Me, I just wanted to eat hog roasts and swing swords. Airsoft needs more hog roasts!2 points

Apologies. To me though it kinda is on topic, at least for some of my stance throughout ie the ability to give credit to some aspects of someone that one dislikes as oppose to allowing the things one dislikes to form ones entire opinion. Let's all try that as a group therapy session, list one reason you dislike KM and try your hardest to list one thing you possibly like but hate to admit 😂 also only use what you saw with your eyes on your negative point ie in his vids and such. I'll start, I dislike his 0-100 anger (although somewhat entertaining). I liked when he was in France and clambered up some rocky/slate hillside and seemingly disappeared while 15 or so enemy units walked straight past him! Good to know, knowledge appreciated! Doesn't dismiss the whole point though right, meaning you get my drift? I hope you wouldn't allow your general distaste for my opinion on some subjects to motivate you to nitpick any one point of any paragraph I write totally disregarding the whole statement and I offer my hand in order to dissolve any potential lingering animosity 🤝1 point -

It gets me how someone who was 70% probablility not there still managed to become the biggest news out of NAF this year. What about my mate who had his MWS stolen from Bravo FOB? Nope, the chairsofters would rather discuss a game they've rarely if ever played and someone they've never and won't meet.1 point

Tackle reacted to Speedbird_666 for an advert
Are you in some way connected to Minerva? Because your pictures are of the exact same rig as what’s on the Minerva website as used in the product pictures, down to the camo splotch placement on the Velcro and front laser cut Molle panels, the Tan 5.56mm magazines and the pistol mags. Not trying to be funny about it, but there have been hacked accounts of experienced users recently trying to scam people with non-existent products. If you are legit, the please accept my apologies. If I had the cash I would have it off you in a heartbeat.1 point -

Wall hanging weekend job
GreenGiant reacted to Egon_247 for a topic
So, the local nail bar had a refurbishment job and slung out a load of coated 18mm mdf... Myself and my two boys have a few pews, so a plan formed pretty fast... 18mm mdf is VERY heavy. Lol. Got the boys to drill and hold things, life skills and all that. The plan is to outline the guns in a cod zombies way and put the question marks on the storage box like they mystery (aka the jingly) box. Need some shelves to put mags and chargers but not bad for a grand total of £20. 😁1 point -

@BigBell1987 welcome mate, but NO NO NO, no offence but it seem like every noob seems to want to reinvent the wheel (or circumnavigate the law), on paper Airsoft is almost perfect, almost, the issues/changes that need fixing are cheating in its various forms, & sites with shit staff that can't organise a piss up in a brewery, & ideally understand the physics HPA etc. It's not a lot to ask really, I've always said that organisers could make their own lives easier & their sites more successful if they copied the best aspects of what are considered the best sites, literally what works best. Everyone's a winner surely🤔1 point

WE gbbRifles
BigBell1987 reacted to JimFromHorsham for a topic
Nothing too technical which is the way I like it these days , but I will follow this thread with interest because I’m always up for learning a bit more . And I may call upon the masses at some point for help with this behemoth of a GBBR which ill be giving a full strip and service with a bit of a tinker into a true semi auto beast .1 point -
WE gbbRifles
MandalShArK reacted to JimFromHorsham for a topic
nice thread 👍 I’ve been playing around with Airsoft guns for a while , and WE GBBR for quite a while now too , if I’m right and recall correctly since around 2010 . For a skirmish rifle back then the Ratech NPAS was mandatory , middle summer could see a GBBR hitting 450-500fps quite easily and they don’t last long at that on stock internals . When I played it was almost always on single shot (I also had PTW’s , all modded to semi & 3rd burst ) so living the semi auto life was an easy one and an easy transition . So a simple power reduction was all I ever did unless something failed which in all honesty wasn’t very often at all , I don’t ever recall a “catastrophic failure” or enough of one to put the gun out of play . WE GBBR get a bad rep but like most things I’d say it’s mostly user error (like mag dumping on full auto in February) and regurgitated nonsense from people who’ve never even owned one . Don’t get me wrong , gas rifles are not for everyone , you’ll be outgunned at most of your average walk-on days but used sensibly they are a lot of fun and easy to work on . Circa 2012 , a WE 416 GBBR in the wild 😛 Roll forward a few years and I’m still tinkering about but not playing anymore , but I still give the guns a good work out . Quality imo has come on nicely with the WE rifles , my only gripe is that the trademarked versions are a bit more difficult to source , im still a kit slag but I can live without that detail (just about ) . all my rifles now just get a basic inner barrel and hop rubber upgrade from maple leaf , crazy jet and 60dgr rubbers seem to give me a decent accuracy , minimal stoppages or jams and hop .30 nicely across the garden, if skirmishing presents itself again then I’ll probably go the NPAS route yet again. externally , whatever I can get my hands on .I’ve found Rails from HAO offer great value and quality , upgraded buffer tubes over the stock ones , RS pistol grips / stocks all give the rifle a much higher quality feel at not a lot of money these days . Here’s a few of my builds , I’ll chip in some more later but if anyone wants to know parts / where from etc I’ll do my best to reply & help.1 point
