  2. Site Name: Ultimate Wargames Fawkham Contact details: 07467 945320 Website Address: https://www.ultimatewargames.net/ Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/UWGfawkham Site Address: 1 School lane, Fawkham, Kent DA3 8NY On a whim I decided to go to Ultimate Wargames Fawkham (02/02/2020 and 30/04/2022), this is one of the most difficult sites to get to for me on public transport and walking. Taking 3 underground trains, National Rail and a 60 minute walk to get there (Luckily a regular and his mum saw me at the side of the road and picked me up to take me there the last mile. They also gave me a lift to the station after) The site has been established for some time, but is not massively well advertised or talked about. Reviews have been somewhat negative, citing lack of chrono, small site and favouritism to towards the home team. This is a small sized woodland site, with a large field in the middle with a CQB section which is detached from the main field. There is a gentle slope but no real deviations in height. There is only 2 or 3 purpose built buildings, including a twin tower section which was used predominantly throughout the day, another small rectangular building and a small bunker. No water features. Short and medium engagement distances were in use throughout the day. The CQB field which was added during the pandemic has multiple buildings, fences and barricade. It is an excellent area which is not the usual style of American killhouse plywood. The site seems more a club then anything because of the ratio of regulars to occasional players. There was only about 17 players on the day. 60 players are considered a huge turnout, so if you like small numbers this site might be one to consider. The Vegetation was mostly high trees with high branches and areas of nettles at a low level. So cover was at a bit of a premium when standing up. Though if you don't mind lying down with pointy nettles, you can easily hide well enough to get the drop on people. Good: Fun Moments: I had a fantastic time at this site. Morning was a bit slow, but the Afternoon was just fun game after fun game. I had a great personal performance kicking ass with my FAMAS and pistol. The low numbers really helped (I hate too many players!) Saturdays and regular game days: Unlike most sites, this one opens almost every week. Half of the time on Sundays and the other half on Saturdays, So if you are looking for a game, chances are there is one here most weekends. Clientele: The vast majority of the clientele were made up of under 18's. But every single one of them were respectful, excitable, tactically minded and a credit to the future of the sport. They had modest equipment, but knew how to use it on the field. Were very polite in asking questions and were happy to listen to advice. They put many adults I have played with on other sites to shame. The adults were fine as well! Marshalling: A great thumbs up here. 2 player marshals all day and they really added to the day, I had concerns about hit taking from a certain player and they asked me who it was and that they would follow them. Very proactive, very friendly and they had a quick game turnaround. Safety Brief: Was fairly standard, covered all the salient points. No complaints. Game modes: We mostly played fallback games and team annihilation. If the weather didn't make the CQB section bogged down then we would have used that during the day, apparently they run an Airsoft TT game mode (Ala house Gamers Airsoft) on occasion. The games were clearly well planned and tested, which means there is little to go wrong. Every game felt competitive. Average: Playing area: When I first went to the site there was just the one section where there wasn't much in the way of man made structures, there was no unique selling point. The old CQB section was too boggy to use due to the poor weather and is a typical American killhouse style which I am not a fan of. The vegetation was varied for the size of the site and the field area was nice but not in use for a whole lot. I think more structures, maybe a trench system would be ideal to help change the site up. On my second visit they had added a large CQB area to the site. It has loads of fencing, buildings, stationary vehicles and barricades. It is not uniform and it is totally worth going to play in. Chrono: A mandatory chrono was in affect though no guns were marked. AEG FPS limits are a 350FPS. DMR is 420 and Bolt actions are 500. Chronoing on .2's is preferred rather then joule rate, Green Gas blowback pistols are not chronoed in the Winter. Food: Food orders are made when you sign up in the morning. Lunch is a burger, chips and a drink for £5. Though I didn't enquire about other food options, it wasn't offered or advertised either. The burger and fries were cooked fresh and NOT reheated. They also had burger relish which I personally love which you don't see at most burger serving sites! Parking: There was quite a bit of parking available especially considering the low turnouts. Its not far from the safe zone, however it was pretty muddy, so make sure you have tyres with a bit of grip. Safe Zone: Is pretty small. Picnic tables available to everyone who turned up, around 70% of them are under cover, the shop and kitchen are in portacabins. The safe zone does get pretty muddy though so watch your step. Looks a bit tired. Shop: I didn't see much of it, though i did see a few pistol boxes, mostly WE stuff. Random gas and bb's. It wasn't the best. Bad: None. Conclusion: After my second visit, I have to say I really like this site the Clientele, Staff, Game modes and overall experience it was a great day and would love to play more. The physical features have been much improved with the addition of the CQB section and make this totally worth a visit! I really enjoyed my day, if it was closer to me I would go more often. I definitely recommend this for young players. Bullpup Watch: My L85 and FAMAS, one SRS Note: Cant comment on the toilets, as I didn't need to go! The below photo is best guess. Seems like Google haven't updated the map on the area for sometime.

  3. Bumping this as I popped back down here again on 30/04/22. The playing area has been expanded to a nicely sized CQB section in amongst some bluebell woodland. It is separate to the rest of the site and its an excellent area. Lots of man made props. It's completely worth going to play at! I have edited the review above.

  4. The lad and I spent today at Airsoft Plantation; it was my third visit and his first. It was very busy; 250 players turned up, which raised some concerns about how the site would cope with such numbers. It is a big site, but that is a lot of players! However, it worked really well; the site did not feel crowded and there was still plenty of room for flanking manoeuvres and lots of little individual combats. The games were well thought out, challenging for both sides, and interesting. Hit taking seemed pretty much spot on and the games flowed well. Credit must go to the marshals for making the day work so well and to the other players, especially the poor chap who fell in the pond and then had to go back in to rescue his rifle.

If you can find a copper or prosecutor who even knows the law on RIFs, let alone cares about it, between now and the heat death of the universe, I'll eat my 2nd best helmet.

  9. It depends on how much / how often you will use air If air is available at the site that you play then that’s the best option. If you need to source your own air then a compressor would be the easiest option, as it will give you the defined pressure. But they do vary in capability. Workshop compressors don’t give enough pressure (and aren’t clean which can be dangerous) There is a very slow option that piggy backs a workshop compressor with a boosting compressor (generally called the shoebox compressor) Professional compressors cost thousands, others have got cheaper (as linked above) Ensure that you are within its operating capacity, that it is maintained and that the air is filtered A cheap & ‘easy’ but requiring physical effort is a stirrup pump. Again it needs to be filtered. This is a fair option for occasional use In between is a dive cylinder. With one of these you are equalizing the pressure between cylinders each time, which slowly drops the source pressure. If you have 3000psi/206bar cylinder then that’s your typical aluminum cylinders maximum. Which means you need to only fill to the minimum that will allow you to play long enough in game and then refill. (eg aim for 2500psi fills to keep it going longer) The larger the dive cylinder is the longer it will take to gradually drop in pressure. If you have a 4500psi/300bar dive cylinder then the initial purchase costs more, but you have 50% more source pressure making. You can then decide to go for 3000psi fills for a while, but if you limit your fills then it will last much longer To fill your playing cylinder you need the appropriate hose fitting for the fill nipple. A compressor or stirrup pump will most likely have the right fitting For a dive cylinder you will need to get a fill clamp adaptor A few of the options are discussed in the following

Give it a like & comment (and share if you please 😉) for us, cheers all, happy airsofting! 👍

Also been asked to look at the new airsoft defence app. Never enough time in the day is there.

  12. Took a mag into work yesterday and had to shave down some of the internal tabs so that the mag release catch would engage, nothing too onerous. Seems to feed well enough. Hopefully there won't be much to do to fit it to the actual gun once it arrives.

  15. Sorry for the late reply. It's beautifully made and feels very close to the real deal. The slide racks like no other airsoft pistol. You can't feel the nozzle moving at all, which makes it feel very nice to rack. Loading the mags is tricky and slow. The baseplate retention spring often retracts inside the mag and I find I have to prod it with a screwdriver to get it to spring back in place. On a positive note, they look amazing and feel well-built. The trigger is weird. It's heavy, but also a little mushy. I don't like how it feels and it doesn't feel realistic IMO. Don't get me wrong, it's better than most other airsoft triggers, but it's far from feeling like the real thing. The hop is a bastard to adjust, but it's fine once it's set. It shoots 0.30g BBs nicely, but accuracy isn't it's party piece. The recoil impulse is tremendous, and it actually takes skill and some practice to accurately land follow-up shots. It's a proper training tool and great for collectors, but I think it'll struggle to keep up with more traditional type pistols. It's definitely a trade off of realism over airsoft playability, if that makes sense!

  16. Hello there! I got into airsoft as a teenager and haven't played or used any of this kit in just under ten years. It has been kept dry and away from sunlight and is all exactly in the condition that I put it away in, which I'm quite happy about. Looking to get some opinions on how much this is all worth second-hand (and third-hand), it seems like this sort of stuff is a little harder to find outside of Soldier of Fortune than when I bought it. If you know anything about any of these individual items at all, please let me know! All information is welcome. List of all pictured: 1937 British Battle Dress Jacket, small, with Oxf. & Bucks Airborne Glider Regiment Patches. British Gas Mask & filter, dated 1944. (Worn only once, before I found out the filters contain asbestos 😅) British Gas Mask Bag, stamped 'H&S 1/44'. 1941/42/44 combo British Battle Webbing with two pouches, water bottle and backpack with backpack straps. Backpack is a reproduction, pouches and bottle are I think actual surplus but don't take my word for it. Also an extra webbing shoulder strap, not pictured. Webbing is not blanco'd. Belt is labelled 'X-Large' but is extremely adjustable and also fits me perfectly at a small. Map case 1942 or 1944, but no clue as to the authenticity since the item it isn't dated. Two pairs of bef gaiters, one pair sized '3' and one pair sized '5'. Make of that what you will. Both in good condition, size 5s are more worn. MK2 Tommy helmet, with webbing and hessian camo strips. Very good condition. Not sure on the size, but it's certainly too small for my big head. Again unsure on if surplus or repro. MK2 Para helmet with canvas chinstrap, very used condition, reproduction. One of the pouches, the Mk2 Para helmet and the map case are all marked by previous owners as pictured. Again all information is welcome! I'm leaving the country quite soon so I'm also looking to get rid of this stuff for the right buyer. Cheers!

  17. I'm going to remove the Iron Sights, internal threading from the end of the barrel and the stock/folding mechanism entirely. Going stock-less à la the Tec-9.

What seems to be the natural evolution of the fabled ‘Blood Diamond carbine’, the Gordy carbine. The MWS has never looked so good. (I know the grip isn’t accurate, I value my wrists more than I do any degree of ‘clone accuracy’!)

    THE TM MWS thread

I've just been on to William Hicks who got me started on this GnP buffer thing - https://www.instagram.com/p/B-YS5wfnIkX/?igshid=xsep5da90p6o the problem in short was bolt lock could not be achieved because one, I'm a twatt and two, I had the buffer tube wound out far too far as I could not get bolt lock and ended up winding out to far causing the GnP buffer to get stuck - I'm now wound all the way in and it has solved my problem. He recommends a rubber washer at the bottom of the TM original buffer tube to prevent the rubber on the buffer being chewed up too. Another point he made to me was check the BCG screws are tight or you can end up like his mate here...

I've only knowingly played against one of them and my god was he a cheating cunt (at least 5 people opening up on him, seeing the shots bounce off him but he carried on). I get the impression alot of it is a case of "let us do what we want or we'll give the site a shit review"
