Nuprol Power Compact Intelligent Charger Help!
Tactical Pith Helmet and 3 others reacted to Rogerborg for a topic
Sorry to have to say this (yet again) but I would bin that bloody thing before it explodes or burns your house down. We've had report after report after report about them failing. When it says "NEVER LEAVE CHARGER UNATTENDED WHILE IN USE" it really means it. A 2A charger should charge a 1.6Ah battery in under an hour. If it's been shoving current in for 9 hours it's been cooking it. However, I'd hazard a guess that the battery is fully charged, but that the charger can't recognise that. Nimh is a bit of a sod to charge. The charger doesn't know what voltage the battery is meant to be, all it can do is to shove current in until it detects the battery resistance rising sharply when it's full. If it fails to spot that rise happening, it's liable to just keep pumping energy in indefinitely. If you stick with it, only use it for under an hour, and disconnect it if the battery start to heat up. Or take the plunge and get yourself onto better technology. Lipo cells are really cheap now (see HobbyKing) and can deliver higher current in a smaller package. You'll not see much difference between a 7.4V lipo and a 9.6V nimh. On chargers, we're liking the SkyRC S65 or the IDST Q6 nano at the moment.4 points -

Clearly the milspec guy needs to turn off notifications on his phone at night, maybe when it pinged it put him off his stroke lol. I might have to ask about a product myself tonight, I'll do it when I get up for a piss, usually about 4am 🤣2 points

see this is why i dislike not having seen the start of how things all kicked off, i'd rather read the original comments he and the customer had because out of context it's hard to judge if it was the reaction of an arsehole, a joker, or a stressed shop owner losing his mind over yet another difficult customer. seeing things in retrospect/secondhand makes it much harder for me to form my own opinion.2 points -

Just read through some of that. Whatever Milspec did aside, the ones commenting "got any feedlips? lololol" likely also think the things they shout during the safety briefing are hilarious.2 points -

Very much so. Stole this from facebook but pretty much sums up what happened and genuinely doesn't exaggerate it either. Some guy wanted 6 ghk feed lips, messaged the milspec solutions FB page and received a tirade of abuse back. Bits still ongoing on their FB page, worth a look if you'd like a giggle2 points -
Hi, What is a good sized/weight bb to use on a standard Airsoft gun like a M4?1 point

My personal unicorn gnu but no way was I paying £400 and never seen one used so had to wait for sale time replaced the stock with a PTS for battery space the Tokyo Marui tracer unit is about 1mm less in diameter a than the stubby supressor so it's a perfect fit. the Tm devgru NGRs and Tm mp7 gbb Can both go now as this feels better to me . think it looks better in night time mode, just need an m lok fore grip daytime Night time Jefftron leviathan with stupid red trigger cos I'm a blingy tart lancer tactical midcaps because kwa and Asg socom mags don't work in this1 point -

next day is always better. i generally hold to the standard of expecting folk to check/respond to their emails once per working day so i never expect a reply in any shorter time than 24 hours. if that's how it went down then i must admit i'd find it hard to sympathise with milspec on this, people send messages at all hours, hell how does he know the guy isn't in a different time zone and emailing him at 2pm?1 point -

The closest I can find to the original call out post is this bastardised screenshot. Short version is, guy messages the page around 10:30 asking about the feed lips, not expecting an answer until the next day and gets the standard automated message saying they'll respond during working hours. So far so standard. The guy from milspec then messages back telling him to fuck off and it all goes to shit from there.1 point -

@occidio I've tested only three barrels - the stock 6.08mm 250mm brass inner barrel, a 370mm long 6.03mm Laylax/Prometheus steel inner barrel, and a 410mm long 6.04mm Maple Leaf Crazy Jet brass barrel. From my tests it was clear that the barrel has minimal effect, if any, on the accuracy and range of the platform. 95% of the accuracy/range comes from the bucking and nub used, how clean everything is, and getting everything properly aligned. As an example, my first time installing the T-N.T. bucking was a disaster because the bucking patch was slightly canted to the left, causing all my shots to curve way left field. I had the 410mm Maple Leaf Crazy Jet on at the time which made no difference in accuracy. When I went back and properly aligned the patch, I started putting fist sized groupings into a tree at roughly 30 meters out just standing offhand. I have a professionally tuned R-Hopped Lambda 6.05mm steel tightbore inner barrel w/Modify flat bucking and flat nub in my primary AEG which had a +/-1 FPS deviation at the chrono last weekend. My MTR-16 is slightly more accurate with the T-N.T. bucking and nub. That's saying a lot. You can also notice the Joule creep on the GBBR is more significant than on the AEG. The ML Crazy Jet barrels have very small windows, but my TR Hop bucking fit into the window and made a nice concave R-hop style contact surface with the BB. I actually prefer this smaller hop window because there seems to be less room for the hop up bucking patch to be misaligned, while a wider window means slightly more room for error (in theory). The stock barrel window is quite open and allows for a wide variety of bucking/nub setups. The Prometheus barrel is similar to the stock barrel, with a wide open window.1 point -

Gearboxes
Andys89 reacted to Sitting Duck for a topic
Just an example of the real importance of checking EVERYTHING !!!! A common problem that is often overlooked is shimming badly or too tight AND a new piston that is a little too tight or binds inside the gearbox.... (Above all else care & attention to detail is of the utmost importance so check EVERYTHING) Reason being is that many rip everything out and replace loads of new stuff slapping it all together Then wonder wtf that is a bit slow/sounds crap/getting very warm/hot quickly etc..... If your piston is binding, your rof is likely to be lower and your amps higher plus gun's efficiency will be crap Also the piston will be slower to return on release so your expected fps will be down (Start pushing a gun with a binding piston and PME is likely to occur sooner too) You don't want to see a very loose sloppy fitting piston with loads of slack moving all over the place But you need to check it moves freely and falls on its own when fitted inside the box (screws done up) Here is a pic of a slightly binding piston for somebody with a lower rof than expected issue.... Hence it is sooooooooooo important to pay attention when fitting replacement parts Fairly sure the picture speaks for itself, but a mild bit of sanding on gearbox rails or piston guides is required btw the gearbox is standing vertically upright but still the piston does not fall freely PS - same piston does not seem to bind in a G&G box but never ever just assume anything will work 101%1 point
