Nope, Hes USSF, The Caption reads "A U.S. Special Forces soldier provides security as their convoy is halted by mechanical difficulties, near Sarobi district, Kapisa province, Afghanistan, June 17, 2014. What's Ian looking so about? ...why, the crapness of his photo skillz! These boots will probably not make it into the field with this camouflage much, if ever, but they are modern Russian Harpy's so they sort of go with the БАРС КМЛ "Сумрак-М2" (BARS KML "Sumrak-M2" {Twighlight-M2}) and the oh so spetz-fashionable Brubeck single piece woven bally. ...very slim fitting which is great for my skinny feet. Teaser of cuff detail... The best shots I could manage in the current light in my gaff: ...this last un gives you some idea of the fabric. It's very lightweight, which is great for keeping heat down when running about, but raises some questions over longevity. There are double layers on the arse, knees, and elbows though, so it may prove to be hardwearing enough. The top only has the 2 chest pockets and i did originally want 4 pockets minimum on whichever SS Leto camo top I chose, but for the price ($83 posted) this was too good to miss out on. It also comes with some loops like mini belt loops arranged like molle around the shoulders to hold light straps for a battle belt type rig or a lifchik in place, which may prove useful (I do actually have a berezka lifchik which barely ever gets an outing primarily because its straps are a pain in the hole, so we shall see how that goes), and mesh panel vents around the face and under the pits. Very much summer wear then, but I believe that lots of thin layers are better in the cold anyway, so you can gradually lose 'em as you warm up due to exercise, so i fully expect to wear it soon. That said, I'm not taking Velure-stylee boots onto a woodland site until the ground is baked, so they will have to await the arrival of the Night Python (Kryptek Typhon stylee) suit my Latvian contakt is threatening to post this week, which i intend to become my go to CQB loadout. Thinking of getting some cheap Typhon webbing from airsoftpeak.com to go with that, but I also need 4 double RPK mag pouches in black and the only deal i can find so far is going to cost me €90 posted ffs, so I may have to hold off on that until after the Balshoy Bolshevik Bash 2 in March... BTW, I realise it's fashionable to apologise for pic heavy posts, but quite frankly this is a pic thread so if you haven't got unlimited data on your phone then don't bother and if you don't have broadband @home you can't afford airsoft so off you fuck...4 points

For a bit of Russkie/Eastern Bloc novelty value, and since it was cheap, I just bought one of those slightly weird metal Jing Gong A47 RPK/SVD hybrids (personally, I think it looks quite a bit like a Romanian PSL, which would kind of make sense, since that is basically a sniper/DMR version of the RPK, so it is effectively a heavy-barreled AK variant with a Dragunov stock, although I'm not sure I've ever seen a PSL with a bipod on it). Still not sure whether it is ugly or cool, or even if I actually like the way it looks, but whichever is true, it has the potential to be a bit of fun in woodland with a decent sight on it, since the barrel is long enough for well aimed accuracy, but it has a very high cyclic rate on full auto and it could potentially have a high capacity drum mag fitted to it. I think I'll just have to make sure it's cranking less than 350 fps, so there'll be no arguments about whether I can use it, since it could be thought of as a sniper, a DMR, a bog standard AEG, or a support weapon lol.3 points

Grr, Ian. Between you and the "Russian military airsoft loads outs UK" FB page I'm finding it increasingly difficult not to start a Russian load out. The worrying fact that I'm about 4/5 pouches away from a "finished" USMC FR load out do not make it any easier!3 points -

Combat Machines are great! They are all polymer guns though. If you want a full metal gun, Airsoft World currently stock the metal bodied combat machine for £150 or so (may be a bit more, can't remember). here is the link2 points -

As title says, any idea who this guy is? Judging by the kit he's USSF of some kind- I'm assuming the rifle is his own or something, I'm not aware of any of them being issued CMRs... Thanks for any suggestions1 point

My new WE (aeg) SCAR-L, comes with a removable barrel extension so as soon as I got it unscrewed this and put on a suppressor. Need to get some rail covers and a foregrip (probably magpul). Dunno if I'll get optics or not, although the hole in the rear sight is damn small, can imagine in low light it'll make it tricky to aim.1 point -
Yeah, i can image that any of the patterns other than Typhon would look great on kecks with either of the ATACS pattern shirts. Even Multiwank kecks would probably look better than they usually don't under a Kryptek shirt. Holy splodges of colour, Batman! I've just realised how ACU (or whatever ppl are calling it these days) could actually look 1/2 decent - kecks under Kryptek Typhon shirt!1 point

Yeah I kind of like it now, didn't hugely at first apart from mandrake but have recently taken a liking to it. I probably won't ever wear a full set as I pretty much decided to just mix camps from now on but will need to get some bdus in some of the patterns at some point soon.1 point

First Gun Conundrum
Lozart reacted to grandwitch for a topic
Hello, Just thought I would feedback what I actually bought. I ended up buying a BO Combat LT595 CQB (M4) as after trying it decide I liked they way it felt and that it accepted all accessories and is easily upgraded. I also on whim bought a KJWORKS KP01-E2 (P226) as I liked the way it felt. A friend of mine gave me his old Osprey MK4 vest so I am going to have to buy a L85 in the future. Thanks for your advice. Sitting Duck reacted to Airsoft_Mr B for a topic
If you want an AR / M4, yeah definitely the G&G Combat Machine. Not exactly the most unique, but can't go wrong with them!! Would be a great choice. Wish I'd got one myself rather than the shite CYMA (cost me more than a G&G would as well....) Alternatively yeah CYMA AKs are basically the AK version of the G&G M4s I guess you could say? They're the other gun that gets recommended a lot, good value and quality. If G36s are your thing, JG ones are tough and very reliable from what I've heard (reason why lots of sites have used them as hire guns)1 point -

G&G M4's for most people - M4's are perhaps most ergonomic for many Cyma AK's if you want something a bit different to not "follow the heard" buy cheaper stuff from any place with BB in its name and you will regret it (many - me included have made that nooby mistake)1 point -

AK choices...
Sitting Duck reacted to Chock for a topic
As others have noted, for certain models of guns they are okay. Particularly their Kalashnikovs, which are very decent, especially for the price. Their CM048 is a very nice model, and you'll be hard pressed to find any other AK which is as accurate or as reliable straight out of the box. CYMA's M14 is also an excellent airsoft weapon, much overlooked by people. CYMA's M4s are allegedly not as good, although I do know a couple of players who've got them and swear by them, but since I hear more opinions saying they are not so good, I'd say steer clear of them, particularly when there are other M4s available for the same money which are better, most notably G&G, although ironically, when it comes to G&G, everyone recommends their M4s but says to steer clear of the AKs, so they are kind of a mirror image of CYMA. So yeah, the CYMA AK is a good choice.1 point -
Can second that. Very easy to maintain as well as being very solid.1 point

profarmy.ru now has a site search box
Airsoft_Mr B reacted to Ian_Gere for a topic
Yeah, amazing that they didn't have one before, but if you know the Russian for what you are after, you can now search profarmy.ru for it. As a guide postage rates tend to be about $30-35 US. You fill in the order form and wait for an email from them. Type "Postage to UK" in the box where they ask for your choice of post. The box which a google translate of the order form page labels "Index" is for your post code. Be aware that it can take a few days for them to get round to emailing you, but if you have any questions Anastasia via [email protected] is the woman you want to speak to. Pashlee!1 point -

I have ordered a box for my Owen gun. Box size: external: 40 x 30,5 x 24 cm internal: 38,4 x 28 x 21 My plan is to print various WW2 posters (recruiting, propaganda etc.) and photo's and use PVA to cover the exterior. Then varnish over the top to protect it. Then I will need some sort of catch and some carrying handles. The interior will require some dividers and foam padding. I won't be able to plan the interior until I have the Owen gun.1 point

if you get it from JD and select free shipping it'll go to your local UPS collection point. used it all day Saturday and I must say what I brilliant piece of kit. Extremely fast to arm and reload no messing with pins amd what not. yeah really happy with it Ian. Highly recommend.1 point

AK choices...
Sitting Duck reacted to Lozart for a topic
Never EVER buy a CYMA M4. Ever. The AKs and M14s though are generally excellent value for money. The lower model number AKs are TM clones so have more plastic parts the CM40 models and above are VFC clones so are all metal and wood and built well. Don't let the price fool you. Excellent guns.1 point -

What's not to understand? ... Their a simple gas piston mechanism. The science is roughly 1920's technology. Breaking down the entire conversation... - They have plastic slides, break with propane - Use metal - But lower power - No... Slide heavier, but more power in propane. Weight up, but also power up... Equal... Balanced - You don't understand physics. - Here's some simple physics and "Newton's first law" - No, you don't understand the mechanism. So... I'm not sure there's any point in continuing this conversation at this juncture. I've spent the last 3 years simulating/testing gas flow, pressures, gas expansion, stress, strain, mechanisms and complex engine dynamics... Which is exactly this in terms of the science... But I'm happy if you live with the idea that I don't know what I'm talking about if it brings this conversation to an end. I don't want this to be considered an admission of failure to give the correct information, but for those reading at a later date, they should have a rough idea of why I didn't engage further...1 point -
