Mmmkay.
Bought a Guarder SP90 for the striker, it chronoes at 1.05J on a Guarder SP100.
One would say "good, it'll drop to 0.9something", right?
Nope. 0.6J...
Decided to nip a coil off the SP100, power goes up to almost 1.1J...
Another coil off, 1.08..
A third of the spring is now in pieces and finally the bloody thing is below 1J....

Specs change but SP90 seems irregular at one end...
slightly tighter at one end than the other
so you "should" have got some difference
compared to a regular spring...
(which should be same either way round)
Some other irregular springs are tighter in middle
AND one of the ends are tighter than the other...
Honestly the way the spring is fitted can make a difference
(as said I've flipped a spring to squeeze another 10fps more than once)
The SP90 or SP100 should just be tighter at one end
so should have made some slight difference
BUT like I said specs can change and be a different spring
or most likely just them qwirky airsoft gremlins
as said these spring/power stuff doesn't always follow logic
Probably why Mr Spock doesn't do airsoft
(his ears would be stinging as easy big target)
you got it sorted & that's all that matters
-
Yep, I am definitely gonna experiment more with this irregular spring theory. I've heard it in the past but never got to "play" with it.
SP100 is done but I still have the SP90 and I can always buy another SP100 after all it's €7.50, won't lose my sleep over that amount, plus having an extra spring in my spare parts drawer is always nice.
i just thought it was funny to cut a spring and gain power
Now I can SlAy ChEeTaHs on Sunday

How does one not die in 30° weather?
-
Turns out my piston head shook itself loose inside the gearbox.
Now there's a metric fuckton of thread lock in there.
Try and come out now, twat!
-
E&L gearbox crapped itself and now the selector lever screw hole is fucked.
Should I call it quits and install a cyma gearbox shell in it? (Will transplant all the internals obviously)

hard to say really.
the only work i've done with a non-standard shell in an e&l body was installing a v3 fusion engine, which took a little fettling.
i have worked on a retro arms box, although that was in an lct body, can't say i was particularly impressed with it, shiny yes but didn't seem to be practically any better than a stock casing.
-
great.
my hadron short stroke kits have been blocked by customs.
I bet the officer will tell me they're worth €500 just to charge me an additional €50 or so for "handling"
- Show previous comments 2 more
-
@Rogerborg ended up paying €14,13, which corresponds to handling fees (didn't pay any VAT).
Definitely too much for what I ordered but eh, better than being stung for €50+

Any decent surplus store?
(Preferably in Europe but UK is fine too)

Hi @Skara! 👋
I can name a few in the UK, that I have used so far and did some Great deals, depending on what you look for? 🤔👍
Last night was looking abroad at surplus gear, cheap.... but shipping prices, have hit hard for the UK! 😮👎
Buy abroad be prepared.... 💷

@PT247 it's on the italian forums, guy was asking what was a good GBBP, told him TM or gtfo (with a very detailed explanation too), he chose gtfo.
Can't wait for him to come back and cry because his gbb can't dump a mag

First game of 2021 tomorrow..

In theory sports can't be practiced unless they are of national relevance, we (federation) just engineered a workaround
Airsoft per se isn't a sport, Practical Shooting with an airsoft gun is and has national relevance for some shady reason.
So we had to register our competitions under practical shooting, since it's of national relevance we are allowed to train and travel unless we are in a tier 3 region. As of now Italy is just tier 1 and 2.
In theory we have a tier 0 zone where most of the stuff is open and only a mask is required but no region has gone tier 0 yet (and it's unlikely to happen since the parameters to get in there are pretty much pre covid)..
Either way I'll bring the wanker M4s to try out kinda want to snipe but the part of the filed we are playing in sucks for sniping as anything longer than a 10" M4 gets tangled everywhere.
-
Just to make you more jealous, we had a blast today!
Played in the new area that we cleared before Christmas, gun behaved extremely well apart from a really bad scratch in my zci tightbore (throws off some shots), ended up being soaking wet but with a huge smile on my face
Next Sunday, sniper time.

Thinking of binning the striker and going full ham on a vsr.
-
Took the striker in a game.
Cheater club wants to join.
For some reason people called hits when I shot them.
Cheater Club president then proceeds to ignore a full auto magdump from the AAP01 from 4/6 metres.
Mmkay...

This whole concept of "club" play bothers me. Any group of humans will divide the world into Us (all that is good and pure and holy) and Them (all that is evil and corrupt), until it ends in zealous bloodshed. This is why decent sites will split up large groups - better to have you shooting at the person that's giving you a ride home.

Does anyone have a spare M4 butt plate with door that he wants to get rid of?

only one I found was this but fuck knows about compatibility and it's a whole buttstock

T238 mosfets verdict:
BAD.
2 of the titan clones shit the bed and the jefftron copy (that only gives active braking) doesn't work in semi auto.
Also there is fuck all online about beeps and shit.
You definitely get what you pay for.
Thankfully it wasn't my money, but fucking hell we spent 7 hours trying to make those fets work.

I get that it's cheap Chinese crap, but we had to use all the provided stickers AND the leftover stickers from my mate's titan before realizing where it fucking needed to be.
Zero explanations from the manual nor the horrible qr code link.
Like, the manual literally says "disassemble gearbox, install DTU, assemble gearbox".
Installed, plugged the battery (7.4v) and attempted to do the usual 1st time calibration just like every other optical unit.
At that point it died.
No beeps, no boops, no anything.
After hours of testing we installed the 2nd unit, which fired a whopping ONE round before frying itself.
Went and installed the jefftron copy (small board integrated in a regular trigger switch).
This one works fine in full auto, but for some reason when you switch to semi the trigger jams itself into something (and no it's not the COL).
-
Yeah I'm not into optical stuff
seen there is facebook page a few days when debating all options
callsign professor on youtube
https://www.facebook.com/groups/232633248186859/?ref=share
but not on FB anymore
think bloke is in Netherlands and is trying to help out with issues
he & another gelblaster bloke Aussie
Hiroshima Screamer on youtube
there is a fail rate with them
but then there has been lemon Titan's Jerfftron & Perun's too
though yes I expect at least 1 of the three I ordered to fail out of box
Also ordered some cheap shit 141 barrels
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001298008413.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.170b4c4d6fTLsI
The FH is 121, so another 20mm should just still sit inside the duck flash hider before showing vividly
The Top Tech FH shoots rather well
but the std FH is not so great so fuck it
bought a few for FH's and/or a MP5k
not expecting a prommy for like under £7
expect a bit of finishing too but wtf
with regards to the T238 - it's shits n giggles
understand stuff like optical mosfets have issues
like need to put in pin to v2 or cover tiny hole
else it won't fire due to light confusing sensors
(when testing box & motor outside receiver)
sometimes people spray inside of box black to avoid light confusing sensors or reflecting on inside case
and bits of tape under trigger to avoid firing at will in direct sunlight - though gotta really go some for this to fire
probably risky to have one of them skeleton receivers
where loads of swiss cheese on receiver allows more light to shine on box externally, risking seepage to confuse some pcb/sensors
use COL rest postion to help align sticker
& depending on selector plate colour - go nuts with black marker on say a blue or white selector plate etc...
to ensure you have definative BLACK / WHITE for sensors to pick up
plus the usual checking clearances inside box where switch went on some boxes needing some work especially reinforced ones
though G&G's are not reinforced & quite "empty" inside like SA boxes
Oh yes - it will be a wank & a ball ache I'm expecting
with hit n miss quality on T238's
(more miss than hit I expect)
but if I take extra care, I'm slightly hopeful at least one might work out to use the fuck pig DSG with no semi cam
-
I've got some aols 6.01 inner barrels coming soon, great quality from my test of them. Some real nice parts.
-
TM G17, 2nd hand with a leaky mag and the BBU seems to return to battery a tad slow.
yay or nay?
Can probably snag it for less than €50
-
What if I slightly file off some buckles to make them all cross compatible?
I just need to remove a couple of extra parts and probably half a millimetre off a couple of female ones.
Do I risk having to replace all the buckles?
- Show previous comments 2 more
-
I was going to ask but you've already answered. Are we talking bearing the weight of kit or are we talking the weight of say a struggling adult that you've bound and are using buckles to secure?
If option a, should be absolutely fine. If option b, structural integrity reigns supreme, you don't want to chance people getting loose and making authorities aware of your misdemeanours.

at least you have something.
I was going to write an awfully long post ranting about my former roommates not paying the rent on time, but I was getting too tilted (at one point I was about to cry) while typing.
@djben9 I wasn't going to buy anything anyway, the things I need are not on discount or haven't been released yet
-
I love when it rains and all your teammates decide it's not worth it.
Then the rain stops and everyone is complaining that we're not playing.
Like, how about you grow up a pair and get out of bed?
Fucking chairsofters..

Totally agree with the above comments. It was raining on and off Saturday and I had one of the best days 'pewing' in a long time! Surrounded by a bunch of like minded people (decent players that took their hits) End of the day, we're all running around at the weekend playing 'army' why does bad weather have to stop that? Combat clothing etc drys out very quickly!

Tracer unit suggestions anyone?
Need one for an upcoming tournament

Yes xcortech 301 is pretty good and also the wosport spitfire especially effective when used with gas guns.
As @strykerlessays the xcortech has a long lasting battery.
-
@Skara The brighter C is a very cost effective unit if you plan on "only" throwing greens. It's more or less the smallest on the market, is one of the brightest ones and has a nice auto off feature.
I'm a little biased as mine has been amazing for the last year.
-
Energy creep.
Gonna "field test" it tomorrow and properly chrono my gun with .20s and .30s to have a "scientific" result..
Just for science
-
Yay, my Airtech ETU Speed Trigger Converter has been delivered!!
Too bad it took 2 fucking months (ordered in October) and I sold my ARP-9 lol
-
Absolutely retarded idea, but.
What if I mod a pair of jeans to accept Crye style knee pads?
-
Difficult choice here.
Buy the short striker from my town's shop for €250, or buy it from another "local" shop for €200 + €5 shipping?
The 250 guy is a friend (also plays in my team and isn't doing too well as far as shekels go) but at the moment I don't want to spend so much on the gun alone..
With the €200 option I may get a spare mag and a couple of upgrades for roughly the same price 😕
tips?

Be honest and tell him, at the end of the day business is business..
He may be able to match the price, or help you in the future.
But if hes a business man he would understand!!
If you buy it and he sees it in the future he will know you didnt buy from him, so better to be upfront about it now to save any awkwardness.
-
Talked to him earlier as I bought a bag of bbs from him.
Apparently he's forced to buy this kind of items from abroad and he has to pay a lot for them in the first place..
On the other hand I don't have the resources to afford paying more.
I'll tell him I found a better deal, maybe I'll embellish it (saying I found an used one + spare mag + upgrades)..
This guy has a few things i'm probably going to buy anyway, I guess he won't take it personally if I don't buy the gun from him

Internet banking is marvelous, it allows you do transfer money and pay for stuff without leaving your pc..
If only my roommate's bank wasn't slower than a disabled sloth to deliver me her rent money............

Also you might want to look into something like Revolut or Monzo (Monzo might be UK only but Revolut is all of EU) as both allow user-to-user- transfers and support SEPA etc. for cross-country stuff. Neither charge for their basic service either and are excellent for current accounts. Both take about 10 minutes to set up too.

Went to Decathlon for a pair of OD trousers and noticed they made a really lightweight OD/RG ubacs for €15.
I'll buy it next week as I'll be going to another store to see what they have in stock
