  1. Last weekend at Gunman Alpha. It was my first time using the leaf suit and was a blast. I had someone about 3m away staring right at me.

  2. Me and my mates have been going to driverwood for a few years now. Its one of our local sites. I have to say it's a great well organized site. The safe zone and facilities are the best I've seen personally, the game sites are good with a decent selection of cover, flanking routes etc. The Marshalls are very good and get into the middle of fire fights to make sure people that get hit are calling it. I went to my first night game last night, I turned up a bit late and missed the first game. Where the lights are is called the village and most are dotted around the outside so the middle of the area is in pitch black more or less, so torches are a good idea. Was a different slower paced feel to the day time games. And even though it was dark you could hear people calling hits all night long. So overall I think it's a good site 😃

  3. Alternatively - don’t put the battery and circuit board areas into a puddle. Is it reasonably sealed? Are cables, plugs etc insulated? Have you checked where short circuits could occur? Potentially circuit boards may have been ‘treated’ with a coating over components, or it can be done with aftermarket coatings (or even nail varnish) ((Bearing in mind you dont want to screw up a board whilst trying to protect a board)) For gameplay things will probably be fine. Afterwards make sure that equipment is clean and dry before packing away

  4. Perhaps they heard that people were having fun there, and it hurt them in the place where human would have a soul?

  5. He's actually handling the weapon poorly, He can mistakenly get himself shot !

  6. As previously mentioned, this image from the potato computer archive doesn't show poor weapons handling or safety. He has eyepro on, mags out, battery is unknown. He could of dropped it muzzle end in the dirt and is checking its clear. His eyes not even in line with the barrel.

  7. Yeah, thats a good point. There are several stages of seriousness depending on the age of the 'trainee' 1. Nerf 2. Airsoft 3. Air-pistol/rifle 4. Rimfire 5. Centrefire The earlier they start the less serious the consequences of messing up. Of course the person teaching needs to have some basic knowledge to pass on or do their own research when they start alone. Unfortunately there are many who have not been taught properly or not learned for themselves so accidents will happen. In the case of actual weapons such as rimfire and centrefire the user would have to be part of a club or get some training before owning one. Probably the most dangerous would be air weapons which can certainly kill and can be bought over the counter with no real restrictions.

  8. Who knows what's going on in this photo though. He's wearing safety glasses and the mag isn't in. I can't tell if it's an AEG or GBBR but if it's an AEG then maybe he's confident the chamber has been cleared or maybe there's not even a battery in it. Worst case scenario he pings himself in the face with a BB. Obviously if it's a GBBR, it wouldn't even fire without the mag.

  9. Op, politely.... you built your T10 wrong. All upgraded snipers will perform the same based on the quality of the barrel, the quality of their hop and the consistency of the power.

  10. Gaiters? Where are we, Florida??? (See what I did there. Dad jokes a speciality. I'm here all week, unfortunately for you. Etc) The good ol' weatherman has changed his mind again. Chips definitely being pissed on. Well, according to one weatherman. Another thinks it's only a 10% chance of rain, and it'll be fine and dandy, and I might be taking the factor 20 instead. So, sod it, not worrying any more about getting wet. I bought the poncho just in case. More concerning are my boots. They've arrived. They're great, but they're fairly tight (size 10/44. I think I need 10.5/45). And as they're 2005 vintage, I doubt they're going to stretch anymore. Maybe a good lump of dubbin? So I'll almost certainly wear them for this weekend and then try to swap them for the next size up. (I refuse to feel guilty about doing that as the shop advertised next day posting, and they actually took 5+ days to do it, so I've had no time to try them, send them back for another pair).

  11. as above it becomes an interesting question on where the line would be drawn between a "part", for example a reciever shell, and an "RIF" i guess as long as the total package passes the "doesn't look like a gnu to random public" then it'll be ok, although there are some tricky precedents for things that have been identified as gnu's which aren't.

  12. In the video above you can see they open the bolt and hold it open with their thumb when the barrel is inspected. That's as safe as you can get. As far as airsoft goes, if the battery is out on an AEG or the magazine out of a GBB then its as safe as it can be. The only danger is thinking its been made safe when it hasn't. So its important to always check there is no battery or magazine.

  13. TM will cycle better than a WE at pretty much any temperature, but 5-6 degrees is not really GBB temperature full stop. They are not designed to operate at that sort of temp any brand will suffer from cool down. If you need a light full auto back up at that sort of temp AEG MP5K is your best bet

  17. Good write up indeed! That day was my first time at Longmoor, been there with a couple friends and met some others they play with at times too, I was in Bravo 1 Barbarian side, so had pretty much same/similar objectives Thoroughly enjoyed it and will try to get there more often (usually my weekends are occupied these days).

  18. I second the gaiters. There is a pair for sale on here for a tenner. Surplus waterproofs give years of wear. They will work out much cheaper than cheap Go Outdoors stuff in the medium never mind long term. I have been over various mountains today in the pissing rain. Deerhunter jacket £20 from Sportsman Gun Centre, £10 surplus leggings, thinsulate beanie from a petrol station. Well dubbed surplus boots. Warm and dry all day. Polycotton underwear from Lidl's and away you go. I have had my kit years and years. Buy quality buy once.

  19. Try a tiny bit of grease on them and stick them to the bushing on the other side of the gearbox.

  20. Once saw someone shoot himself in the foot. He was administering a head shot to his sisters doll whilst standing on its neck. Problem was he aimed through a scope and forgot about the height over bore

  21. I believe they use a number of OEM companies to make their guns for them. S&T is one for sure but the 416 looks like it's been done by whoever OEM'd the Specna ones (E&C maybe).

  22. The 'real' rifle is a H&K 416, lots of companies make a copy of it, less so with the geissele style rail. TM, VFC, CYMA, WE, EA, UMAREX (which I think is a VFC Rebrand) and G&G I would stay away from anything Nuprol. Not seen much EA stuff so cannot comment on it. I've owned the G&G 416 and it was good (to my standard anyway). I currently own the TM 416 (with the geissele rail) and like it.

  23. One of my favourite games was in high winds and foul weather. Most players were cold, wet and miserable and a lot went home If the woods are just right then it seems to rain less in the woods, so get into the game and be active. On that day I got soaked and muddy in the morning, got changed to clean & dry clothes for lunch, got soaked & muddy in the afternoon and changed to go home I may or may not have changed boots during the day (damp feet are the worst) I will have had something clean and dry for my feet on the way home Everything was chucked into a bin bag and dealt with later. Note the top tip on cleaning it ASAP at home. You may need to hose it down depending on who is in charge of the washing machine and how foul it is On this particular occasion I didn’t, and had my stinking pile bagged in the car for the week. I was to meet up with someone and was on the phone when leaving work saying I’ll have to be late because I absolutely must get it into a washing machine. I was overheard by the receptionist and she insisted on doing it for me —- no matter how much I protested about how foul it will be after festering for a week. I then have lovely folded & ironed kit, along with her telling me how she couldn’t understand why her husband was so intrigued by this mystery mans clothing and all the effort she put into it

On a less firer note: Surefire handguard, as we already know, is a drop fit, with some patience I was able to fit a 7.4v 1400mah nunchuck, I also had a shorter 7.4v 1300mah nunchuck which was even easier to fit into this handguard. Eotech 551 on a VFC generic low profile claw mount, and as I have a game soon before I could get hold of a Gemtech I came up with a little MP5 specific housing for the Acetech S unit's internal.

  25. We was always at the mercy of the landlord. We didnt expect anyone to buy such a property in its condition but hey it is what it is. I've always been prepared for this and we already have in the works a similar sized site nearby

  26. Issue CS95 smocks (presume that's what you mean) will stave off but the lightest of showers, they just get soaked in short order and being bulky things made of thick fabric they soak up a lot of water; take about a day to dry once hung up in a warm house. Cotton is not wicking, it is the opposite, it holds water for a comparatively very long time and is especially cold when wet compared to wool or synthetics. Being soaked is fine if it's warm enough and/or you run around enough. Being soaked through will ruin you in cool enough weather if you're not pretty consistently on the move. This is all real real basic stuff. Personally I really like the current issue polyester tshirts they dry lightning fast. Issue goretex can usually be had really cheaply and at a tiny fraction of the price of any commercial goretex jacket. But obviously anything waterproof like a poncho will be a lot better than any issued uniforms in standard fabrics.
