    New to Airsoft Forums

Well been into Airsoft since before UKRA was even a thing. Took a bit of a brake around 2015 and got back into Airsoft over 3 nearly 4 years ago. Quite a few good changes in RIF quality and choice 😁 spent the last few years working on loadouts and RIFs deciding what I like and don't like. Tried lots of different roles from Sniper, DMR, Gunner and Rifleman. Been working with HPA and AEG. I like both platforms. Sniper and DMR not really my thing. But Gunner and Rifleman are more my thing. Not much else to say other I try to get out for a game day at lest once a week.

  3. I too was at Worthing yesterday, although whilst @Impulse was in the safe zone, I was off buggering around with his .308 Wolverine MTW to see if that took my fancy. It was bang on the money on .43's and using the C02 wraith stock, so no tank/line. Despite the length and the suppressor, it was actually reasonably light (apart from the scope, I feel NASA may want that back at some point). Weather was unexpectedly cold and drizzling first thing, but this wore off by game on and developed into actual sunshine in the afternoon. Fairly standard attack/defence games, but they work well enough. I found the MTW to be quiet and easy to send rounds at people but... not sure, a little soulless perhaps. On a general note I am not convinced that hordes of 450fps silent ghillie DMR users make for great gameplay (not that that was necessarily the case today) and I wonder at what point Rules might be required to address this. It's a personal bugbear, so unlikely to be resolved any time soon. I did find it a little too easy to send rounds repeatedly down range and suspect I would need a bigger budget for ammo if I played that more regularly (having done about half a bag of .43's by lunchtime). Still, it was nice to get the chance to find that out without having to drop a grand on kit. Lunchtime I swapped over to the NGRS MP5, which was good as ever. As mentioned the airstrike game went well, but I ran out of steam after that and headed back earlier for fear of getting irrationally grumpy (hard to believe I know). Thankfully a bank holiday Monday to finish putting kit away. I'm also a little behind in write ups having played both UCAP Vanquish (again) and Greenops over the last couple of weeks. Vanquish has had improvements despite the short amount of time it's been open, with external barriers having been set up and new tin added to the fencing so shooting/looking through is no longer possible. This time round I spent most of the day outside with only a few excursions through the building. Noteable highlights were standing behind the Polaris ATV whilst an increasingly irate opponent shot at me, convinced I was not taking my hints. Helpfully for him, the marshall pointed out that it has a windscreen, which I was behind as rounds slammed into that instead of me. Well, also partially into the occupants of the ATV, but it's not my fault they parked it there... The site was as always well run and tidy. Cafe was busy again, but at least I preordered. Considering another visit in the not too distant future. GreenOps was standard GreenOps, although a little quieter than usual but actually made for a decent day. Pretty standard, dust got in everything and I accidentally bought a shotgun whilst queueing for lunch. It happens.

  7. https://www.airsoft-hub.com/item/38161-m4-ar Non-descript M4 listing without a brand & model. Seller wants £200 where the only photo is an M4 being used at Skirmish Wycombe but nothing to hint the listing itself is legitimate. Bank transfer only because he's allegedly been scammed. Really confidence-inspiring. 🙄 In the words of Whitney Houston, "crack is cheap".

  8. Unless I'm indoors, in only ever shoot .28 and up. However the M14 is the only exception to this- I get much better range with .25s, even though with a Maple Leaf bucking in it, it lifts heavier. I'm guessing it's air volume isn't enough for heavy BBs in the long inner barrel.

  11. I'm starting a new thread as I've been trampling over other people's too often recently, and as I've got my own chrono and a desire to do the simple things on my own, I thought I'd record stuff here, and ask for related advice. Background: New Double Eagle M906C delivered start of November. Didn't open it up to clean it out, just straight off to three skirmishes where it's performed very well in-game but with two caveats: 1) Low rate of fire on 7.4v. Especially so after a cold day on the field. In warm conditions it's shooting 11.6 rps on 7.4v, 16.4 rps on 11.1v. That'll do me. 2) Low muzzle velocity. Very variable figures seen, anything from a low of 230fps on a very cold site, to 300fps in my house, but also down at 270fps in the same conditions. The odd thing about the muzzle velocity differences are they stay consistent each time, so each day / test the readings are all very similar, within +-5fps Intended actions: 1) Crack open the receiver, check the gun looks ok internally 2) Spray some lube into the nozzle (leave for a while, then shoot it out before re-assembly) 3) Change stock hop rubber to 50C (Light green) Maple Leaf Macaron 4) Change stock hop nub to Omega 5) Change spring to M100 or M105 'Before' testing: With gun at room temperature, chrono'd at 270-280fps. Accuracy test with cheapo BB Kings 0.25g Bio BB's, 15m measured, fired from room @ 19-20C, 2C ambient temp outside, light wind, bench rest, Kobra red dot, approx 30 shots Results: 1) I've cracked open the gun... The front receiver pin was stiff and it took some hammering, but very easy to slide off the top receiver after that (once I'd worked out the dust cover needs to be closed, or it'll get blocked by it). No damage to the nozzle. Barrel was quite clean, but not perfect, so ran some cotton swabs through it. There's evidence of light greasing on the piston - everything looks good (neither under or over lubed) to my untutored eye 2) Sprayed the Ultrair silicon lube into the nozzle and left it while I did everything else. Then blasted out the excess with a few shots before reassembly. 3) Replaced the hop rubber. The old one seemed fine, lubed on the outside but clean-ish on the inside. It definitely worked ok as I've managed to over-hop 0.30g BBs a few weeks ago. 4) Attempted to replace the nub. The Omega is simply too large to fit into the hop arm... Have I bought the wrong one somehow??? @ak2m4 perhaps you could tell me? 5) Replaced the spring. This was really easy thanks to the quick-change system. (I wish my TM AK had the same, breaking the gearbox open was a real pain and left me with a bill for someone else to put it back together!) The stock tube bolt needs a long-shafted no4 Hex bit to undo. The spring end plate thing needs as wide a flat-head screwdriver as you can find (to make it super-easy). The spring guide is nicely engineered. The interesting thing is I've tried two springs in there: Action Army M100 - much shorter than the stock spring, gave 320fps with 0.25g BB's (no hop) ASG M105 - either longer than the stock spring, or about the same length... it's still in the gun so can't compare now... 320fps Which just goes to show you can't trust the manufacturer's ratings, gotta try the springs yourself. And the acid test, 0.20g BBs with a bit of hop applied ... 345-350fps. Yaaaasssssssss! So, I'm really rather happy. I've successfully 'done things' without apparently buggering-up my gun, mostly thanks to the nice way it's been designed and built by DE. And the muzzle velocity is up to the site limit, and still seems to be consistent. Though obviously it's changed from day-to-day before, so I'll have to keep my eye on that! I'll re-test the accuracy tomorrow, but obviously I'd rather do it with the Omega nub in place. Still, it'll be interesting to see what difference the other changes have made first. I'll also chill the gun outside, see if that affects the fps.

  12. Excellent! Well done! I tend to disable the ambidextrous mag catches as they are a pain and I am not bothered by them. I sometimes do the same with the ambidextrous selectors as well.

  13. Yes, apologies, I misread the instructions as saying that the magnet holder shouldn't be in contact with that post (it should!) I don't have a dremel to hand but some hand files have done the trick. Have done the sensor tests and it's all working! Now to reassemble it without too much cursing (ambi controls and working ambi bolt catches make for a poor first timer attempt at this sort of thing...)

  17. I had a good day at Worthing Airsoft yesterday. I was running the full ghillie again and a dmr under the new power limits, which are finally at 1.88j. My trusty old nuprol ak21 (externally at least) has decided it now hates my epm1 short mags and my other short mags, but runs the nuprol midcaps just fine. It was comfortably hopping .45s to 70, so I was having a nice day with it, at least after I managed to work out the issue with the mags. The morning was a bit damp, but the rain cleared up by the time games started, and the ground was dry so a pretty comfy day. Games were mostly domination. Pretty standard fun game type, can't really argue with it. We also had a variation on "escort the uncooperative marshall in a silly costume to various bases" with a big rabbit for the Easter theme. That's always a fun time, and probably one of the best modes Worthing does. It's just fun, which can be lost on some game types. We did have a new game mode, airstrike. Collecting items to call in an airstrike on a base, which is then unusable. Most airstrikes wins the game. Fun game type stolen from ai500, probably the one good thing to come out of that event 😂 So nice day, lots of sneaking, surprising rentals and regulars. Lots of counter-ghillie work. Though towards the end my pistol vented it's gas, so I dove to cover.... into a bunch of stinging nettles.... with fingerless gloves. That was a very unfun time, and I didn't even get a kill!

  18. It's pretty decent . Does suffer with cool down if you go to gung ho , used it last time I played for a game , just went empty as game over called . I have now fitted an hpa adapter in place of the fill valve as I am now running my 249 on hpa on occasion. Took it out to test this morning and that combination is good , and ideal for cqb etc. I like the stick mags normally and wouldn't hpa those , same for the L119s etc .

  19. Having not bought anything airsoft for... days.. i decided it was time for some upgrade parts. 510mm Maple Leaf Crazy Jet inner barrel and Flamingo hop rubber for my SCAR-H MK20. 74mm, 138mm, 210mm and 330mm Unicorn inner barrels + hop rubbers to fit USP Compact, MP5K PDW, MP5A5 and SCAR-H. And 3 M90+ NGRS springs to fit my two MP5s and my 416 Delta. And now to look at some more optics and try to resist buying them.. 😕

    Which BB's for Cyma M14?

I've got the cyma socom, it's stock & even on .20's the range & accuracy has been excellent, & not fussy with brands. I suggest you wait till it arrives & test it with whatever you've already got before buying a load more.

  24. Do not remove the post; the magnet holder should rest against it. You will need to dremel off the raised screw hole that you have circled. The manual is here: https://perunairsoft.pl/hybridv2.pdf

  25. I'll run it through the chrono tomorrow and find out. The NGRS will have a much lower rate of fire than a high cycle, i think. From what i've seen all the MP5A3/5 foregrips should interchange. People put the VFC/Surefire, H&K MLI, Midwest Industries, etc on them all with the only issue being battery space on some.

  29. They do on all the replicas that I have which feature one, though personally that's one feature I don't care about actually working; but hey if the objective/want is more along the replication lines than just shooting bbs at 40m I do get it. The only tricky thing with the chinese optics is figuring out which actual OEM you're buying from, as on the one hand there's clearly only 1-2 places physically making a given item in most cases, but the sellers are allllll over the place with naming and descriptions (making it seem like there's 50 factories churning out the same thing), not to mention pricing. This is the example I just bought, only just came in the other day so hasn't been used, but it passes the initial inspection. https://www.specprecision.com/rifle-scope/ta31-d-4x32-m4-redgreen-chevron-reticle-riflescope.html#/new_ta31_tan-red_chevron_rticle_ta51_flattop_mount At the time of writing I only found one proper replica still up on AliEx, which is worth considering as the site policies are surprisingly pretty tough on sellers. I don't buy much on there, only some of my optics, but in my limited experience so far with something turning up damaged, you'll likely be quite well covered if there's a problem. Don't know if the same applies with the direct sale sites (haven't tested it). https://vi.aliexpress.com/item/1005008458309232.html?pdp_npi=4%40dis!GBP!£138.12!£103.59!!!177.99!133.49!%40211b613917449668290041363e5270!12000045222293014!sh!UK!0!X&spm=a2g0o.store_pc_allItems_or_groupList.new_all_items_2007593437253.1005008458309232&gatewayAdapt=glo2vnm

This is a very fun gun and I am selling as I don't use it as much as I should, it is one of my favourite builds and has had a lot of time put into it. As is fairly obvious it comes with an airtac HPA adapter (the new gen plug and play version) which is awesome, I have had to replace the nozzle because of this and the best one I have experimented with is the Tapp airsoft CNC one, I do have a fair few spare parts so lmk if you are interested in any of these. It also has a Bavtac 115% recoil spring and a Federal Concepts bolt buffer to keep the ROF up but not fuck the bolt up. I fitted the C&C Tac Piston Head which made the gun a fair bit more efficient, and I have also installed some PDI 6.05 inner barrels. Externally, I have fitted a 5KU PT-1 stock, 5KU RK3 grip, and 5KU PT-1 charging handle for the Zenitco look. It also has a C&C Tac dog leg dust cover, a hepheastus steel selector lever, the Wiitech short outer barrel and a 3D printed handguard with a Federal Concepts handstop fitted. The Eotech clone on top is included, lmk if you don't want it as I can always respray it for another gun XD It does also come with the original 45rd saiga magazine but it leaks as I haven't had any reason to fix it The price includes postage and paypal fees, if you have any questions or offers just lmk!

  31. He wants nearly £700 and can't write his own description with concrete specs? Are the mags possibly leaking? Is the eye protection possibly only rated for dust and not Z87/EN166 safety? Is the tactical vest possibly one of those cheap Amazon jobbies?

    WARNING - NEW SCAM

Hi guys, just to let you know there's a new moody scam attempt going on, appearing to target sellers & purporting to be from the forum itself, telling sellers their item has sold & to click on a link within the message to complete the sale. Seems to be originating from Russia, not sure what happens if the link is clicked, probably a trojan horse type virus to mine your info. Don't fall for it, obviously if you get one let us know so we can ban them immediately, here's a screenshot of the kind of text you'll receive:

  37. Ahoy and welcome. I'm unclear, did you disassemble the upper / handguard and do anything with the outer barrel? Or was it already like that? Do you have a picture of how badly it's off centre? Have you adjusted the motor height? You want to move the adjusted screw in gradually until it you can hear it just starting to screech, then back it out. Play around with it a bit to hear the different sounds it makes at different heights, and get it as quiet as you can. You might find that you're comparing against video of short-stroked gearboxes as well, with higher torque motors, running on 11.1V. Specna stock motors are OK, but not great. Most aftermarket motors will be significantly snappier.
