Finally got a stock alert on a nice hi-capa outer barrel in the colour I wanted, so I jumped on that. Lucky I did, because I got the last 11mm to 14mm suppressor adapter in black! Hi-capa is basically complete now, because while I have an RMR mount for it, I found that the RMR sights were impossible to adjust low enough, so the fiber sights will do. Ready for some sneaky sneaky, however it's still somewhat noisy because it's a snappy GBB pistol with a metal slide. But it feels delightful to shoot, and it's a replica of a suppressed .45 so it tickles my immersion nerd / filmsimmer side. Easily my favoured pistol now and will for sure see use because I almost always have an MED. Been a long time advocate of GBBs as sniper sidearms.3 points -

To me Sir Ranulph Fiennes said it best. There's no such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothing. I play all year round and I don't mind a bit of rain etc as the bad weather can add an extra element to games, eg reduced visibility or the rain covering noise. Just dress for the conditions. I understand though if others would rather stay home when the weather is bad Alternatively bad weather can be a good excuse to visit a cqb site if possible. Wht worry about the weather if you're indoors3 points -

The 'How Did Your Airsoft Day Go? Thread

I must figure out how to get to Splatoon, looks like a decent days shooting. Red Mist 6: Operation Foxcub (Gunman Eversly, camp alpha) weekend filmsim, coldwar gets hot An amazing turnout for the Saturday, around 60 split over Warpac (DDR Section + USSR section and Nato forces (Rifles had a whole 3 sections plus us 'paras' with a couple of tag alongs from the 55th. A great day's shooting and story followed by a decent night drinking and social. For the Sunday numbers for both sides dropped but not crazy, the paras used: a G3 (ICS, metal, heavy) and pleasure to shoot a Fal which again super smooth and well hopped and I was using my (toy weight) mc51 which I really need to replace some parts on, maybe look at hop options, likely try and improve air seal.2 points -

Ares 686 2" & 3.5" CO2
John_W and one other reacted to GraniteFraggle for a topic
So a quick & dirty report now my 3.5" is here, thanks to Red Wolf. The bad - no manual or hop adjustment key. No markings, unless you have them done yourself. My local guy is primed .... The good - everything else! Hop is a bit fiddly to set - clockwise for more, anti-clockwise for less. *EDIT****** Chrono'd again with my Acetech 6000 Mkiii - I thought the values were way too high. Its absolutely beautiful - from the grips (unstained in my case - which is fine, I'm looking forward to working some bees wax into her), to the spinning chamber action (no other revolver really touches this) is stunning. Trigger pull I can't give you figures on but having shot a lot of real steel (pre-ban in the UK) it feels right. Very smooth, very smooth indeed. Its loud - anecdotely similar to the wingun. The shells make a lovely sound if you slot them in one by one into the chamber. Consitency is way and above wingun - see FPS below as a result I would happily take and get a body shot at 30m, maybe 40m. I need to test her in the field really Looks like that new shell design has paid off. Shells are lovely (R-P 357 Magnum - "Remington-Peters" 357 Magnum). I haven't tried the moonclips - I'm running her with HKS 586-A speedloadeers on my belt as a secondary sidearm loadout. Love the way they resemble a copper plate bullet. The shells fit in a wingun speedloader but .... you end up with some shells in your chamber/some not. I could play around with them and work out how to get everything lined up ... but why dress lamb as mutton? Fits my 686 leather holster with thumb snap for the hammer perfectly. Hops .3s with no problem - I think you could go heavier but I don't see any advantage as 0.3 means I use the same weight in all my sidearms. For my use, I think the 3.5" is a perfect balance between portability, weight & accuracy. I'd love to see what the 5/6" versions are like (possibly with a different finish although the silver is really special) & the other grip options. The longer barreled models are going to be (legal!) hand cannons I think. Quite excited by the prospect! Very happy with her - I'd say this is by far & away the best revolver I've used in a long line from Tanaka, Marushin & Wingun. Shells are a must for me - you really cannot beat the feel & buzz of using them in combat. Hopwise this is best I've seen, closely followed by the old 8mm Marushin, Tanaka SAA adjustable then coming a fair way behind, Wingun. Further behind still, Tanaka fixed. So 6 shots, .3 ASG Blaster Devil BBs, 19°C, slow count of 5 between shots. 1: 227 2: 235 3: 229 4: 230 5: 231 6: 233 Average = 230 which is 282 FPS with 0.2 equivalent. So sight legal & really consistent Some rubbish camera phone pictures attached, full review post skirmish day (or 2) to follow.2 points -

I think as I've gotten a little older i've lost my patience for muddy fields and rainy days... having said that I played at Plantation a couple of years ago in December on a crisp sunny day when it was around -1 to 0 all day and the ground was frozen solid, it actually made for a great time. As long as you're dressed up and have a good anti fog system. Would take those conditions over slushy mud anytime. The aesthetics of the site were great too, everything was frosted over pretty much all day.1 point

From the reviews I’ve read/watched since the purchase it ‘appears’ it’s a cheap reproduction of some of their ‘better’ models. Ive read a few reports that some of their stuff is quite decent so I can take your word for it, but this combo is not great.1 point

Ok, back now…. This is what I’ve been using and been happy with it. It’s had the mosfet trigger upgrade as my heavy handedness caused the OE trigger to start firing on its own.. Very recently I purchased this… And was told about a ‘fantastic scope & maginifier’ about to be released and would sell out quickly so thought I would buy on recommendation…. So here it is…. The focus ring on the magnifier barely makes a difference to compensate for my dodgy eyes and the parallax error in the red dot is horrendous, absolutely zero target fix when you move your eyeline. The recent YT review basically confirms this. So I’m happy to take this on the chin and buy something more suitable, so thank you all for your replies, much appreciated 😁 Do you use a particular retailer for your purchases? 👍🏻1 point

Which Red Dot sight?
Lozart reacted to Chev Chelios for a topic
https://www.opticswarehouse.co.uk/brands/vector_optics overkill for Airsoft and something like a Maverick (red dot) is around £50. They also do a magnifier to sit behind the red dot for around the same price with the same name that has a forgiving eye box and around 4 inches or eye relief. For magnified the Forester LPVO (low powered variable optic) is amazing for the price point, £140. I have really expensive optics from the likes of Eotech, Vortex and Aimpoint and to my untrained eye all the Vector stuff I have tried is punching far above its price range. Dont think you can really go wrong.1 point -
The 'How Did Your Airsoft Day Go? Thread
Jaylordofwaargh reacted to Colin Allen for a topic
Having two guns to set up, I trundled off to Splatoon this morning in order to use their well marked out range. Around 50 players were present, with Mothers' Day potentially impacting attendance. Having set up my A&K Masada after maintenance and checked the power on my recently modified G36 (Hey @Asomodai, that G36C I bought from you has grown up to become a G36K!) which was, as I suspected, a bit low, I went through the ritual of chronoing the guns I would be using followed by the subsequent ritual of the safety brief. The first game was a simple attack and defend in the middle section of the site. With one life each, we defended Checkpoint Charlie, while the attackers, with infinite regens on their starting point, had to raise the barrier at the checkpoint. Taking up a position near the rear on our far left, I had great fun shooting attacking players and a marshal (in my defence, all that I could see were his legs moving around), with the ARX160 reaching out across the playing area. Eventually, of course, I was hit, being the penultimate defender to die. After a shortish break to mag up, the game was turned around. I joined up with a group of players who I then remained with for the rest of the day. Initially probing down the right, we soon switched to the left and pushed slowly forward, during which I had considerable success taking out defenders behind the larger structures. We completed the mission in a time that was eight seconds longer than it had taken our enemies, which was pretty close for a game that lasted just under 30 minutes. The next game involved using the entire site. Both sides started in the container village, with infinite regens on their helicopter (black for us and grey for the other team); the mission was to collect the three smoke grenades, which were at the other end of the site in the foxhole area, and use them to blow up targets in the container village. While some of our team set off to try to grab the smoke grenades or prevent the enemy bringing them to the targets if they got them first, the rest of us fought those of the red team who had stayed there to gain control of the first target, which was the black car. As in the previous games, our communications were on point, with good information sharing around enemy movements and positions. There were some great firefights among the containers until a couple of our players returned with the first smoke grenade, which was duly thrown into the black car, whereupon the red car became the next target. We quickly took control of the area around it, fighting off determined attacks by our foes until, fortunately, the next smoke grenade arrived in the hand of one of our players; the red car was soon belching smoke! The final target was then identified, which was the tyre pile, which is in an exposed position in the middle of the container village. Initially the red team seized control of it, but we eventually pushed them off it, holding it until one of our team ran towards it with the final smoke grenade; his throw missed the target but, as we gave him covering fire, he was able to scoop it up and lob it into the middle of the pile. 3-0 and game over, just like Aston Villa! Luncheon was then taken, which seemed to go on for a long time! A fair number of people drifted away, probably to be nice to their mothers. Following that, we went out to play Spinners. Each of the three sections of the site has a spinner; the winners would be the team who had two or more of them with their colour pointing up at the end of the game. Each side had infinite regens on their start point. Starting off in the middle section, our little group got to the spinner there; being the middle section, there were no secure flanks and we fought off attacks from the foxholes and from the enemy's regen to our front. Being hit, a couple of us regened and went to the container village to see what was happening there; the answer was not a lot. Our colleagues had secured the spinner and had pretty much pinned the enemy back, effectively locking them out of that area. As we were pushing into the enemy in the middle section of the site, the game ended. 3-0 again! It was noticeable that energy levels seemed a lot lower in this game. After a long break, during which more people drifted away, another game took place; it was not a very good one. The red team were divided into three groups; one group had to get on the red bus and defend it, the second group had to do the same on the lower deck of the white bus, while the final group were upstairs on the white bus. They could not leave their designated areas. Defenders had one life each, while we had infinite regens on the grey helicopter. The biggest problem with this was that there were not enough openings for all the defenders on the white bus to shoot out of. We killed them all. It was not exciting. After another long break, during which more players left, presumably to take flowers and chocolates to their mothers, this was turned around. They killed us all. It was not exciting. The general view was that it was a pointless game. At this point, quite a few of us left, so I have no idea what happened after that. It was a strange day; the morning games were very good, particularly the smoke grenade one, while those after lunch were neither particularly interesting nor played with much energy. The bus games were poor and were a waste of time. Guns used: S&T ARX160 Ares VZ58 ASG XP18 Commander (CO2)1 point -

The only brushless motors that come with unidirectional bearings (effectively eliminating the need for a mechanical ARL) are the Solink Advanced and V5 motors (the latter is also known as G5 under Gate's branding). Unless using the aforementioned motors it's utter bollocks to remove the ARL, so is a mechanical decocking feature like the one found on ICS guns because all these do is damage the tappet plate. It's much better (and safer for the gun's internals) to have an electronic decocking feature where the gun fires one shot with maximum AB to stop the piston fully forward.1 point

Rule 5 update
KermitTheFud reacted to Tackle for a topic
Afternoon guys, while we appreciate some of you have embraced the recent rule changes with no issues, we're still getting new members that are failing to read the rules (& probably won't read this😏), as well as a lot of existing members that are renewing ads that existed before the December 1st rule change, but haven't updated their pictures with at least one picture showing items for sale & the inclusion of a piece of paper with the username & date handwritten on it. For anyone who can't be arsed, don't worry, we'll also get to the point soon where we can't be arsed to send reminders, we'll just nuke the threads, never to be seen again. What also needs to be considered is that some of the notes are written in the smallest handwriting with pens with tiny tips, we don't have spectrum microscopes to blow them up in order to be able to read them, so bigger writing with something like a sharpie marker would be great. If in doubt, consider if you were the buyer & you couldn't make out the name, you might not bother enquiring further. Everyone needs to get on board with this, irrespective of time here & forum feedback, we've seen a marked decline of scam attempts reported so hopefully this is starting to make a difference. Thanks for your continued support 🙏1 point -
