    What Do You Want

@Airsoft_Ginie, sorry, don't believe a word of it, without context, the "large airsoft company" you supposedly work for will either supply products as a wholesaler/retailer, or gameday services as a site, but your post alludes to "everything airsoft" being something you have the potential to supply or fix ?. I call bullshit on your post?

Must be SAS (Special Airsoft Services) then, if you're not allowed to tell us. ? Please understand that we get posts like this regularly, and they generally turn out to be from dreamers and/or students. We generally just have a laugh with them, until evidence of ability to deliver is produced.

    What Do You Want

I want Angela Scanlon to deliver my next RIF purchases on a silver platter with her Irish charm. I want Sydney Sweeney to do my chrono tests and only mine at each skirmish I go to. In all seriousness, if you won't disclose who you work for or what you're getting out of what half-reads like a Chat GPT response, I don't think you should be surprised if there are sarcastic or suspicious replies. What is a "large airsoft company"? A site manager? A retailer? A distributor/reseller? What do you get out of this?

  10. Was an interesting day at Worthing Airsoft today, and I saw @Hatchet today which was a welcome surprise, and I know @Reef was there too, but I apologise as I didn't see you about! Fortunately it was a dry one, but it was very overcast and very humid so I sweated an absolute tonne, but I did play the whole day. Originally I was going to play half the day with my KJW m40a5 and then set up my Tanaka AICS ready for AI500 in a few weeks (as those are the two guns I'm taking), but my friends' guns were both acting up so instead I went out with my m40 as planned, and let my friend play with my Tanaka AICS, so he basically made sure it was shooting well and hopping properly (it was and he got lots of kills with it!) Also decided to not go with my cape + boonie + leafy rifle wrap ghillie setup today, as I've put lower scope mounts to bring the scope more in-line with the barrel. It definitely helps with the long distance shooting, but with a leafy rifle wrap it'd probably get in the way and piss me off. Instead I used my cobra hood, put a suppressor cover on the DTSS style suppressor on my m40, then simply wrapped scrim net around my rifle and secured it with black elastic bands (I now have a bunch of hair ties for this, but didn't have them for today). Worked like a charm and there was no point in the day where I feel like I wouldn't have been spotted if I was more ghillie'd up, but it allowed me to be a lot more mobile. Well, mobility was hindered by a foot injury earlier in the week, but I did quite like the lighter setup and will be using it at AI500 for sure as it all worked really well. The games were enjoyable. I missed the warm up game, as I was helping my friend try and troubleshoot his guns in the morning, so after the safety brief I had to finish sorting my mags and gear. However, I got out for the big game where there were multiple objectives. One was a box that was hung up in the open that we had to hold a button down on, and the other was a stretcher with a dummy on it that we had to find and bring to different bases across the site. The spawns weren't great, and it led to me doing a bit of spawncamping at one point unknowingly, as one of the bases we had to get the stretcher to was right next to the enemy spawn apparently, so while I was covering one side of the base along with Mr. @Hatchet (we made a pretty great team to be fair and completely shut that side down), we were unknowingly shooting pretty much into their spawn at times. We totally dominated that game and it did feel like the yellow team gave up after that base that was too close to their spawn. I played a lot more active than I usually do and it paid off as I got a LOT of good shots. After lunch they rebalanced the teams and we played a balloon game where each team had a load of balloons that we had to take to bases to score them. The further the base from our spawn, the more points each balloon would be worth. The energy that the blue team had in the morning was completely gone though and we got rolled, with me and my friend sniping along one side feeling like we were the front line for most of the game. I did also shoot the same guy four times behind a barricade and he kept getting medic'd, despite only having one medic life; at least he called the hits, but... yeah, waaaaaay too many medic lives. Reported that to the marshalls. Also the marshalls made someone take their ghillie off today because they weren't taking hits as they "couldn't feel it". Marshall watched them get laced up and not call it, so they sent them back to the car park to take the ghillie off. Marshalls were generally on it today and were on top of all the shifty behaviour that happened to my knowledge, so big props to the marshall team today for dealing with stuff there and then. While I would say there was more shifty behaviour today than normal, the marshalls were on top of it all. Last two games were three base domination games. Didn't get too many good shots in these games, as Worthing is really, really, really difficult for sniping now. If you stand, there's overhanging branches and coppices that block your shots, and if you go prone the brambles are too high and you won't have good lines of sight. Crouching is basically the way to go, but even then some of the brambles are still too high, not to mention the bottom of the site being literally unplayable if you have an MED; well, you can use your pistol, but if I go to the bottom part of the site, I may as well leave the bolt action at the top, so I didn't even bother going down to the bottom of the site in any of the games. I got a few with the pistol on people who pretty much walked up to me and didn't spot me, got a few at silly long range posting it through a gap in the coppices towards one of the bases, and in the second game when we swapped ends, I got a few on some players trying to be sneaky, so that was nice.

If you can't be open and honest with us from the start then why should we trust you or pay attention to a word you post? As @Rogerborg posted we get posts like this regularly and 99.9% of the time bugger all comes of their plans to revolutionise the hobby. From this I guess you're part of a site. In that case what I want is marshals who know what they're doing (especially when it comes to chronoing) and actually want to do the job rather than stand around on their phone. Edit: a quick search for airsoft genie brings up genie stuff airsoft uk. A shop who's website is dead and from what I can see on pinterest they specialise in 2 tones and mostly sell cheap crap. @Airsoft_Ginie iscthat you?

  17. What he said. A decent day at Worthing, despite the predicted rain that happily didn't arrive until I started driving out of the car park. I opted to run the NGRS MP5 A5 today and it was on point as ever. The compact size meant it's easy to tuck in to places and the accuracy is good enough to put the red dot on your target and get decent first round hits out to 55m. As @Impulse said, we tucked in and shot a lot of people. I think I did about 10 mags worth of semi, which is good going. I didn't have a good picture as to what the rest of the team were doing, but we were actively engaged around the objectives and getting kills, so didn't seem any point pushing on. The teams had been split with new players and ghillie snipers being equally divided up, but there was still some rebalancing done at lunch. I ended up moved across to yellows and had to make that mental note of not instantly wasting the team you're now on due to colour confusion. There was a balloon game. I didn't really follow other than to head vaguely in the right direction and harass people to cut them off from objectives. My teammates were very pleased with their inflated balloons (which had to then be taken to various objectives) until I queried why they didn't wait until *after* we got to the objective to inflate them, rather than running through the woods trying to keep hold of them. Always good to watch the expression on someone's face as realisation slowly dawns... As noted, afterwards the Marshalls commented on how much better the yellows were now playing after lunch after the team moves. I didn't like to point it out BUT WE KNOW THE REASON. Just saying. ? All in all, a decent day out, well marshalled and burger excellent. The only issue is the lack of magnified optics on the MP5, but then it's meant for CQB, not sniping. Next week I shall return to UCAP Vanquish and give it another run through in a more appropriate environment.

  19. I guess it counts as made ? Bought an S&T Mosin on a whim because the price was great from @Pierre It was missing the front sight/muzzle as S&T for some silly reason have it split and held on by a grub screw?! Purchased a PPS mosin barrel (And extras) from @airsoftshooter123 with a hope and dream of fitting the barrel to the S&T After eight hours of grinding, sanding, testing and a lot of “oh ffs” The barrel has been transplanted to the S&T and now I have a “historically accurate” one piece barrel ? Found an original Izhevsk front sight too (Which matches the “manufacturer” of the S&T) to finish it off! Eyeing up the bolt action dude upgrade kit & the BAD PU bolt if/when he releases it and a PU scope now. Wrap it in some burlap and go all “Enemy at the gates” ?

    WARNING - NEW SCAM

Hi guys, just to let you know there's a new moody scam attempt going on, appearing to target sellers & purporting to be from the forum itself, telling sellers their item has sold & to click on a link within the message to complete the sale. Seems to be originating from Russia, not sure what happens if the link is clicked, probably a trojan horse type virus to mine your info. Don't fall for it, obviously if you get one let us know so we can ban them immediately, here's a screenshot of the kind of text you'll receive:

In his weak defence, ASG specifies a very low energy rating itself. https://actionsportgames.com/en-gb/productcatalog/products/guns/rifles/ds4-carbine My biggest issue is the seller's lack of openness that just because it is a plinker, that doesn't mean it's skirmishable. Some poor not so knowledgeable newbie may not understand they're not getting a bargain but being exploited. I guess it's the CYMA CM.507 but as you said, his item description is as helpful as a bunghole on your elbow.

  26. 6 of us ventured to HC in Rowley Regis today. Enjoyed it again. Still trying to get used to the layout and still come to a dead end in a couple of structures on occasion!! It’s my age you see ? Had 1 moment in a game of 6 hits in a row and then got hammered most the rest of the games. Last game was my favourite the team seem to come together and push with better results. At one point I found myself behind an enemy player who was in a structure stopping the advance of a few on our team! Luckily my team didn’t shoot me as I popped out gingerly and as the other team player stepped out looking the other way I was able to hit him a close range. He was super cool about and he had a fantastic Russian outfit on, kudos to him.

    Helmet advise

Welcome ✋ That helmet link is far too expensive. Just search "fast helmet" and choose the cheapest option you like. As Emergenychimp said, a helmet isn't really necessary but can save your nogin from freak accidents like scratches from low branches or falling against a structure. Its much more important to get good eye protection and boots with ankle support.

    What Do You Want

I kinda agree with the above, but... on a serious-ish note, the only influence I imagine any "large airsoft company in the UK" could offer me as a consumer is a better variety of non AR or AK based rif's. I could easily be wrong here but as a fat balding 57 yr old with some disposable income & an interest in UK/NATO Cold War era kit I'm paying through the nose for surplus gear from abroad as the UK distributers constantly have kit listed but, out of stock when I want to empty my wallet. BB's are expensive but plentiful Gas is expensive but plentiful Rif's are expensive but I understand why stock may take longer to obtain by companies as stocking inventory ain't cheap Some rifs are harder to find in the UK but plentiful in the asian markets(for obvious reasons), & for us in the UK there are many hurdles our imports have to leap before they are finally delivered to our doors & constantly hoping all the t's were crossed & i's dotted between HK/Taiwan and No5 Hopeful Crescent. Our laws are tight in the UK & rightly so, I just wish some unobtainium rif's could be bought from within the UK (or from 'our European warehouse'). On a personal note... more Uzi's, more L1A1's (especially with wooden furniture), more GPMG's, more Sterlings etc. I'll be visiting Raresoft asap due to their selection of items. All you have to do is visit the 'What have you just bought' section to see what members of this forum want from retailers in the UK.

    Helmet advise

As youre very new my advice is don't buy a helmet. 1. It's generally unnecessary expense. 2. They don't look as cool as you think it will. 3. There is often very little protection from them, BB strikes aren't that painful, a baseball cap takes the worst of it etc. yes sometimes you bash yourself against a tree ..but it's rare and if you didn't have an extra inch or so on the top of your head that you aren't used to, you probably wouldn't have bashed it 4. They generally make fogging worse, which makes it harder to play and you have a worse time. 5. There's better things to spend your money on. 6. The wrong size can give headaches which suck. 7. The unnatural roundness makes you an easier target to spot in some environments. Honestly, save your money, get a baseball cap or a takeaway or some pyro.

  37. @luke303, you need to make written section 51 requests under the foi act, to the school & all agencies involved. Want to see what positions have the most vacancies, go on to pretty much any county council jobs pages, social worker positions far outnumber any other job. And unfortunately it's usually because the very few good social workers don't last long, having left because of bullying & deep rooted ineptitude amongst their so called colleagues, who will happily close ranks & lie, while failing to serve societies most vulnerable who need help the most.
    1 point
  38. All I can say with regards to ‘prevent’, schools or social workers is that they seem to have a wonderful ability to pick on completely innocent parties meanwhile the actual genuine cases of concern slip by and often go on to commit crimes. When their incompetence comes to the surface we’re met with all the usual hand wringing and excuse making and a limp, wet boiler plate response telling us how thyre ‘committed’ to the highest standards. This sounds like business as usual, innocent parties being incorrectly hounded.

  47. Thanks to everyone for all your advice. As a family we are absolutely devastated and feel his disability has been used as weapon against him. Our garden is suitable for using the gun but we will probably knock it on the head for the foreseeable. We have asked the school very nicely for a breakdown of their concerns and to see the referral to both authorities but as yet that hasn't been forthcoming. We have actually taken him out of the school citing our own safeguarding concerns as they were documenting everything he said on history and politics. Apparently him saying he doesn't like communism is an extremist view!! I definitely will look at a listening device as I really don't trust them. My son already felt that everyone at school thought he was odd so adding this is the saddest part of it for us.
