1st place out of 15 teams at yesterday's CQB tournament (not speedsoft).. An environment we are definitely not used to, but I guess breaching rooms and storming in like animals paid off. 5 objectives in 5 buildings with rooms, stairs, long hallways, people complimented on how much covering fire we laid down while advancing and how violent we were in pushing. Hit calling was good for the most part, only had one instance where I got taken out by a defender after hitting him repeatedly in the face (saw BBs bouncing off his eye pro) but hey, ref wasn't there to confirm so nothing I could do about it (crying about hit calling during tournaments usually ends badly with a ton of points lost). Another odd occurrence in the last objective, shot a guy from almost point blank in semi, as he turned around to shoot back at me I flicked to binary and well.. we traded.. let's just say he wasn't too happy about my gun's performance ?? Kit used: DSG speedwanker gun AAP01 (never used) F9 Ammo Hub FRV belt w/ DC holster Pentagon flat pack clone Really enjoyed how comfortable the drop stock is, coupled with the very low weight of the rifle. Also happy with battery efficiency on semi, used about 50% of a 7.4v 1800mAh 50/100c while firing about 2100 BBs (6x360) in semi/binary. Unfortunately my M600 repro torch decided to fuck itself almost instantly but I can't blame it, the thing soldiered through years of abuse and shit weather. I have an AliExpress OKW clone coming in now, thing is marketed as "tight spotlight beam". Overall a surprisingly fun day.4 points

Well, I reckon the patch thread (to buy them) should be edited/deleted so members can no longer try to buy a patch, I'd rather the Admins actually buy patches and allowed us to buy them in good faith as I'll assume (not a good thing) that the cost is less than the price for us to purchase & the difference can go towards paying for the site.3 points -

Forward venting blank firers have been illegal for some time, top venting blank firers made by certain manufacturers (predominantly Turkish) are now illegal, both classed as s5 firearms. The amnesty runs from today till the end of the month.3 points -

I was actually going to volunteer myself for exactly this the other week... I have a manufacturer I use for Woven Hook & Look Patches that I sell for a client but would be able to find a PVC patch supplier relatively quickly if that was the preferred type. If there's no objection from the Mods and everyone could reach a consensus on patch type and size I'll look into it. The ones I currently do are roughly 50mm x 60mm Woven Hook and Loop Die cut (unique shape) and sell for £5 each or 3 for £10 + £2.80 Royal mail 48 Tracked postage.3 points -

This is what really gets me about airsoft manufacturers. Anyone who buys a 1st gen gun is essentially paying hundreds of pounds just to be a glorified beta tester2 points -
All "intelligent" FCUs are on 100% of the time so they have a very slight battery draining effect. In practice the effect is negligible and there shouldn't be such a massive drop in battery "life". There is definitely something off in that RIF, could be the Aster (not the best Gate FCU to be fair), could be the shimming (iirc you had issues with it), could be the motor height (goes in pair with shimming) or it could be the motor that's about to die (something I've seen fairly often lately, only with G&G motors). Also, for the love of God stop buying such tiny batteries. They don't provide nowhere near enough amps to let the motor do its thing and because of that they get stressed A LOT. If your RIF can't accomodate bigger batteries, get a buttstock that can fit them.2 points

S&T Lee-Enfield has landed !
NiallT and one other reacted to The_Lord_Poncho for a topic
Well, the S&T no.4 had it's first skirmish yesterday. I'd already swapped the barrel to a slightly shorter and better quality one than the stock brass coloured aluminium (!) barrel it comes with, popped in a silicon Maple Leaf Deception, and upgraded the spring with a heavily cut down L96 M150. Oh, and swapped out the loading plate with a filed to shape alloy L96 AWS plate to stop the original plate retaining c-clip pinging off every 10th shot. It was running at circa 1.3 joules after that, with a decent long range and impressive accuracy. I had an excellent game with it- the paltry six or so 'kills' I had with it each being incredibly satisfying. I would have given myself a high five after each one if that wouldn't have been just too weird (and my screaming biceps had any remaining energy to give). Many admiring comments from the sea of AR users!2 points -
The 'How Did Your Airsoft Day Go? Thread
ButcherBill and one other reacted to Mik3F for a topic
Yesterday I headed to Level 2 Airsoft in Atherton, first time visiting the site, but I had heard good things about it and had watched videos on Youtube so had an idea of what to expect. Chrono was well organised and went smoothly We were teamed up and myself, lads and their mates were all on the same team so that was a bonus. Teams were 18 a side First game was a standard Team Deathmatch, and for me the perfect opportunity to try to familarise myself with the layout of the area, and boy did I need it. After my first death it took me almost 5 mins to find my spawn ? We lost that game by I think 95-88. Second game was Attack and defend the bomb sites, we were tasked with defending, and to be honest I never even saw the objectives once in this game as we were too busy skirmishing in the jungle area, but come the end of the game we had only lost one of the 2 sites so won the game Third game was domination, and probably the one I enjoyed the most as I took to capturing and defending the middle objective in my stride, even managing to clear the obective of 3 enemy players and then holding it for almost the rest of the game. Really enjoyed that one and got the most kills of any of the games we played. We ended up winning quite easily in the end Fourth game was another bomb game, but this time we were tasked with trying to detonate the bomb at a random location, it took us almost 10 mins to find were it was and we did manage to arm it once, but the oppositon managed to defuse it and slowly pushed us back towards our spawn point. We tried in vain to get back to the bomb but to be honest they had it pretty much locked down and we were unsuccessfull, resulting in loosing the game. Final game was an attack and defend where you had to take the objectives (x5) to set locations on the map and defend them when you placed them down. Both teams had to use the same 5 objectives but get them to different locations on the map, so it made for some intersting firefights. To be honest I have no idea who the round as we didnt get to hear the result. Managed to get some nice kills and tested the TM pistol out. Have to say makes a huge difference having a tracer unit They run a loyalty scheme where Game 9 and 10 are half price so well worth getting a card and having it stamped each time you play to say some pennines Its cost me £23 for the afternoon session, actual game time running from 4-7pm with about 5 mins break in between games Overall I had a great time and would highly recommend the site to others, we have booked back in for the 22nd to play again2 points -
Short answer: yes. MOSFETs cause a parasitic loss as they consume electricity in addition to the motor. With that said, your experience sounds like a huge drop in battery life. Unfortunately, I can't give a direct comparison before and after with upgrading my P90 to using a Perun unit because I used different voltages and capacities of batteries but I'd usually get through most of the day (playing outdoors with varieties of single shot and full auto) before and after the upgrade.2 points

Can I have a refund as well please? I've been waiting since the 16th June 2023... £6 to receive absolutely nothing never sat well with me, especially as we do like to highlight poor service and scams from retailers, forum members etc. The irony of getting fleeced by the forum seemed, well, ironic... If we ever get this sorted I'm still waiting for a patch from UKAPU as well, last promised in May 2022. There is definitely a theme here...1 point

This MAS36 arrived today courtesy of Lofty, When I first saw it advertised I thought it was interesting but only because I'd never seen one before, when I saw it relisted in the classifieds I decided it would look good in my 'retro' collection (it does). after some negotiation with the seller a deal was made. I'd like to thank Lofty as I'm pretty sure he didn't want to part with it. I'm also pretty sure I'll never see another one so I'm glad i have it.1 point -
KSC MP9 not feeding
Ronin0033 reacted to EvilMonkee for a topic
@Ronin0033Well we got it working after lots of experimentation with mags and BBs, just needed lube and it not to be so fucking cold. Ironically I now have the opposite problem its feeding but not firing, ie a BB gets stuck in the hop unit. It fires intermittently. Must be the cold factor, I am going to shove a sign on it saying leave alone till Summer ....1 point -

Been reading this thread for a while now with increasing intrigue. I’ve always been quite a staunch advocate for the forum and its community. However (and unless there’s something going on that I’m missing) this whole patch business and the apparent radio silence from the relevant admin is quite concerning.1 point -
More modded than made, and not me but @Anonymoose (absolutely top bloke). Outer barrel lathed; gas block mounting area cut down from a full M16 front sight length down to the compact block length for the Geissele style gas block. Little mill cut done on the top for the locating pin. Also drilled the bottom to add a slot for the locking spring pin, since neither of the original 6 o'clock slots in the barrel for the mil spec front sight pins lined up with the hole in the new block. Mag release button hole in a totally unknown blank AEG receiver set filed just slightly, now fits the BJ Tac Geissele mag release which EBA listed as AEG, but I reckon is probably GBB. I believe I've fitted a GBB mag release to my Krytac LVOA though so fingers crossed this will actually function correctly once the gearbox goes in.1 point
