If you think that I'm driving four or so hours, and even dragging the Mrs along, to play airsoft with a bunch of fellow fanatics then you're sadly unmistaken... 😅 Seriously, we did similar with a Farcebook group for mature players a few years back. We all wore DPM and '58 pattern, and used 'interesting' gnus. Not knowing the site we didn't do too well, but many laughs were had and I ate the biggest breakfast of my life so far in a B&B before the game. Had an interesting discussion on arthritis meds at lunchtime too. Memorable day. Even got to sample Milton Keynes roundabouts on the way home too.3 points -

Sorry guys, no matter how much I'd like to meet some of you here. I just don't want to give that site any more of my money.1 point -
I’ve never transported RIFs within the UK in hard cases with locks in 17 years. Just in soft gun bags. I’m not aware of any laws in the UK that require them to be carried in locked hard cases. They just need to be kept out of sight (plus a good reason for carrying them). If it’s just the gearbox I guess carried out of sight will be sufficient. Or does the OP mean travelling between countries?1 point

The law in question is the Section 19 offence: having imitation firearm in public without reasonable excuse. Since a gearbox is not an imitation firearm, there is no offence. ... Actually, what do you mean by possible? What do you mean by travel? What do you mean by complete set of airsoft gearbox?1 point -
It depends on what you mean by ‘travel’ When driving in your car domestically it’s best practice to use a case, but you’re fine as long as Airsoft guns are not in sight when loading, driving and unloading If travelling in/through countries then comply with their laws When crossing borders comply with the laws of each country, and the terms & conditions of airlines, ferry companies and the channel tunnel Did you mean ‘gear box’ as in components etc or gear (all your kit etc? If it looks like gun parts then treat it as a gun If it’s just internals then package it safely1 point

The 'How Did Your Airsoft Day Go? Thread
Badgerlicious reacted to Cannonfodder for a topic
Yesterday took a trip to Incursion Airsoft at the Epsom tunnels and it was one of those days with ups and downs. Fortunately most of the negatives were nothing to do with the site as one was delayed trains and the second was that one of my post game cans of beer had a tiny hole in it so my plate carrier stank of Old Speckled Hen. Games were varied with almost perfect hit taking. Unfortunately one rental was a little reluctant to call hits but a word from marshals (and maybe a couple of extra shots) soon sorted that. The only other slight negative was that some of the gaps between games could've been a few minutes shorter but they didn't feel excessively long All in all I had a great evening and I'd certainly go back Guns used: GE 870 shotgun WE P991 point -
It is DEAD handy! If you're using something particularly cumbersome (one of those gert big FAL mags springs to mind) then it might be a bit unwieldy, but I've used it no problem for all of mine.1 point

Yeah course, makes sense. I don't carry a loader in game myself it only ever sits in the gun bag back in the SZ, so something like the TM works, but yeah I definitely wouldn't be carrying on my person either haha. Had no idea about those airtac adapters for the M12 before though, the generic model has gone right to the top of the list of things to try cheers for that info 👌1 point

Thanks all - super helpful. I am off to a semi-local shop at the weekend for a consultation on a fix/solution and how to move forward. Regarding how spendy I want to get, I am eyes open on how the hobby grabs you. In my opinion, it is not a case of what gun do I want to buy. It is a case of which one I want first! Lesson learned on the rails though.1 point

Their stuff will definitely cost more than it should, given the extra steps it must go through with businesses in Japan that must exist purely to bulk buy and then export it, probably having to jump through many hoops along the way. But with most of the products they last so long and perform so well vs the competition I'm honestly more than fine with that I would have to say (that's just my opinion of course). And sometimes the prices aren't even high. F-S had 5.1 Hi-Capas on sale a few months ago for, iirc, £99, which is the price of a lot of more budget pistol brands and the TM 5.1 is arguably the most effective/efficient GBB pistol out of the box that exists. It'll be interesting to weight this offering up vs the autobot once the price is known and I think for a lot of people the battery options with favour the Evike offering, but as I mentioned earlier I've not personally loved the Odin M12 for my own purposes and my absolutely ancient TM 556 mag manual loader is still what I use the most at the moment. This loader could finally usurp my old manual and see use every game for me personally, though given that I always use mid caps I'd still keep the manual in the bottom of the old gear bag just in case.1 point

What Rifles are available
Tactical Pith Helmet reacted to Impulse for a topic
I have one and I use the Wolverine Wraith X system on my MTW 308. It allows me to use a 13ci air tank with a sleeve over the tank, or a co2 adapter that appears just like a buffer tube, so I have a repro CTR stock on it and it looks just like a regular rifle (though in this picture I haven't screwed the co2 adapter on all the way!) There's also the Wraith Aero stock, which is the older Wolverine air stock and I don't think it's as good, and also the Polarstar UGS. For co2 stocks there's the Mancraft co2 stock and the Polarstar CGS as well. I will, however, echo the previous sentiments. A well-tuned AEG will perform just as good as a well-tuned HPA system, it's just easier to tune an HPA system than an AEG to that level. The main benefits of HPA is the sound signature as while you can get AEGs to be pretty quiet, they can't match HPA on just how silent they can become. Also, the lack of a line and tank is mostly useful if you're like me and tend to crawl through bushes and move through thick foliage a lot, as I found that an external line would get caught on absolutely everything, and also if you're very choosey about your shots. I usually play (gas) bolt action and I tend to use my MTW in exactly the same way, so an air tank only giving me about 700ish shots is absolutely fine for a game day, and with my setup I tend to get 1 magazine out of 1 co2 bulb, so if I'm reloading magazine, I'm reloading co2 bulb at the same time and vice versa (I removed the buttplate from the repro CTR stock so that I could easily access the co2 so changing it over is pretty easy). Also, since I use my MTW 308 as a DMR, it's useful for that because sites have different DMR limits. I'm fortunate that the two sites that are closest to me being Worthing Airsoft and Driver Wood both have the same 1.88J DMR limit, but I just went to AI500 this past weekend and their DMR limit is only 1.48J, same with Gunman sites, so having the ability to quickly tune the power down if I'm visiting another site is very handy. However with quick change springs in AEGs nowadays it's pretty easy to also do that with AEGs.1 point -

Hi guys. Well as I have been mentioned in this topic, I have felt compelled to reply. As I have replied to Ollies post, not sure where he got his facts from about me being a famous site reviewer,as this is the first review of a site I have played at that i have left. That in its self should show you his angle. As it was mentioned, I don't know where they got shouting a little kids from. The only little kids there were 3 younguns with their dad. I'm sure if I had shouted at them, their dad would have had words with me, but of course people are free to believe who they want. My main concern is the safety aspect, and I can assure you there were mags in guns in the safe zone. My wife would not remove her eye pro, but even after this she still wanted to give it another go. As it has been mentioned there is no point in making stuff up, especially when I have no affiliation to this or any other site. I want there to be more sites not less, so we get more choice. I agree with a post above about maybe giving it another go, but to be honest with the cost and how long it takes to get there and back, I'd rather try a different site, than go back and give them more of our money, especially after all they could be bothered to do was give me a thumbs up. Make of the review what you will and yes, maybe take it with a pinch of salt if you wish and give it a try. I just hope if you do, you have a better SAFER experience than we did.1 point

New pew today 😁. Since using my lad's SSE18, I've wanted one for my ghillie rig, but I've decided to dual-purpose it for my cyberpunk CQB setup. The massive holo is a placeholder until my low-profile (red) red dot arrives, but I'm starting to get attached to it, whilst tactically sweeping my house over and over. The amplifier was primarily cosmetic but it definitely makes the pistol sound less anaemic. Also missing is a red flared mag well, as it was out of stock. She's ugly, but that's kind of the point. 😄 Once it's complete, the real project begins: Integral torch, using the foregrip cavity, and LED lighting in the rear carbine cavity... all for the cyberiness. 😄1 point -
Personally, I'd tell them not to worry, your expected to pay for it due to their probably illegal approach to the consumer rights act, you'll collect it & pass it on to a reputable tech who'll sort it properly in a timely fashion & provide you with a report which you'll pass on to the manufacturer, along with a full timeline of the whole debacle. & then point out that you'll then publish the whole shitfest on every airsoft page, forum, & review website, ensuring that EVERYONE knows what a shower of shit they are. Then await their reply 🤔1 point
