What do you look for in a good CQB site?
Rogerborg and 4 others reacted to GeorgePlaysAirsoft for a topic
I respectfully disagree. In my opinion "airsoft" is fundamentally just a technology which facilitates whatever kinda activity someone/some people want to get out of it. If someone invented some kind of personal force field like in Dune that meant you could shoot people with real bullets out of real guns with zero injury that would be awesome and I would never have to set a hop or charge a lipo again. Thing is people do want different things out of "airsoft". And most people only go to skirmishes rather than specific events for a specific vibe/emphasis/audience. And most people only to a handful of skirmish sites. Even if we could "define the hobby", I'm not sure we should. Also, most skirmish sites operate the same rules. At some point someone decided that sniper rifles have a 30MED, that semi auto DMRs should be locked to 425fps or thereabouts and the rest followed suit. I'm not really sure there is an issue there. The "rising tide" starts with the players, not the sites, and not some theoretical trade body. Be the change you want to see. Go to the events which actually suit you. On that note.. To actually answer OP's question...well I won't. I think you are asking the wrong question. The great opportunity you have is not anything to do with how CQB sites are laid out. But that you have a somewhat close knit, "high trust" "airsoft club" to play with. This means you can experiment with different game formats which wouldn't work as well, if at all, at a walk on skirmish. For example one way of mitigating the issue of spawn camping is to have no respawns, so no spawn to camp. Stuff like that. Loads of fun to be had coming up and testing out ideas.5 points -

I feel your pain, I know its restrictive mate, but I think I am only going to sell to people with feedback or at least 3 months on the forum with a decent posting history. There are so many about nowadays everywhere, and lets just say you are selling something cheap - even getting your personal data from a paypal transaction can be profitable from what I have read. As the mods have said - lean on them too. I have to say, the chaps have been providing an excellent service to us all in terms of the anti scammer work that is going on. Cheers3 points -

Finally done ordering stuff for once. This is by far been the most expensive month for me for Airsoft in years. I ordered a Ghillie suit for me that isnt from a Youtuber (The just released Helikon Tex US Woodland one) A Helikon Tex Hat in Coyote And a little cheeky purchase as it was on the same site and on offer (67 euros) Helikon Tex Mini rig in Denim. So this month alone I have bought. Classic Army MP5A5 SD. Classic Army MP5A3 lower receiver as I wanted that design. 3 Cyma Hi-Caps for MP5 Viper VX Wing Viper VX Mp5 Quad Insert Viper Mini Rig for VX System (To put the AK mags in as the Utility Section isn't quite big enough for 3) Acetech Brighter C Tracer (To put in the MP5 Silencer) Viper Pistol Pouch and a Radio Pouch Helikon CPU Coyote Shirt Helikon Coyote Boonie II Newly released Helikon Ghillie in US Woodland Helikon Training Mini Rig (In DENIM BLUE)3 points -
Yes, but particularly for CQB, given the increased adrenaline, potential for harm (high flung grenades, for example), and tempers to fray in close proximity.3 points

Hello! New to this forum but not to airsoft. First played 17 years ago and then regularly up until around 5 or 6 years ago. My youngest son has just got into it so I recently dusted off all the old kit. Fixed up my old CYMA M14 which is still reaching ridiculous ranges even with the loss of a few fps. That was a good purchase, I think I only paid about £90 for it back in the day! I've enjoyed the couple of games we've been to so far, I just don't move as fast as I used to. I look forward to participating in the forum.2 points -
Classic Army MP5A5SD. Already sent off to be reshimmed and upgraded. I also managed to break the selector straight away... But it's fine because I ordered a replacement Classic Army A2 lower receiver (I always wanted an A2 but can't find them anywhere for sale) Also bought some Additional High Cap Mags (Cyma), Viper VX SMG Inserts for the Utility rig, a Helikon CPU Shirt, Wings for the Viper Utility rig so I can attach molle Pistol pouch and Radio pouch.2 points

TM Electric Auto Loader
MistakenMexican reacted to TheFull9 for a topic
Couldn't see any other details out there, looks good though. The Odin sidewinder has been raved about for a long time and I do get why, but after dragging my heels and eventually picking one up a year or so ago I've never ended up actually using it, as quite often I'll head to a game with my TM EBBRs and pistols; haven't fancied the idea of having to build up a collection of adapters for the thing. Having one fast loader that's ready to go for most types of mags is very appealing, personally. Obviously there's the evike loader that came out not too long ago which is similar to the the above, probably decent, but for myself I've got more trust in a TM product vs whichever unknown chinese OEM evike use.1 point -
Help finding a holster
Gingerbreadman11 reacted to Tiercel for a topic
https://www.amazon.co.uk/EM17-LS-SIG-Tactical-Holster/dp/B00PLTXAC0 something like that is what you want, I had one for my G17 with light. Pretty decent but I have a handgun hoarding problem and bankrupted myself buying custom hard holsters for each handgun and ditched the weapon light so I could just use a warrior universal Foubs does tonnes of mounting options too so you can swap the generic belt paddle for whatever you want if the belt mount doesnt do it for you, can swap it out for molle chest rig attachment, drop leg etc. EDIT: Im sure your post said you needed a holster for one with a light, but re-reading it looks like you didnt. I may be tripping balls or just got confused by Als post above If you dont need a light attachment, just get a warrior universal1 point -

Ask for more pics for starters, & mix it up by asking for specific items included in the pics, weirder the better, maybe a green toothbrush balanced on a tin of spam alongside today's newspaper with their username scrawled on the front page. If he does all that your probably good to go, but don't get lax with the payment, paypal goods & services, or cash on collection..........NOTHING ELSE !. If your swapping kit, my rule of thumb is whoever has the lowest feedback sends their stuff first, & only when you've received it & happy with it do you send your half of the trade. Also, if your the seller, make time dated vids of stuff working, in case the buyer tries to say its faulty via a PayPal claim, I had someone sabotage a gun & mags to make a false claim, the video closed him down full stop.1 point -

Question.... So, to stop getting scammed how can you get someone to verify they aren't trying to rip you off. Any methods for verification ?, let's say they don't have any feedback, do you just have to chance it when purchasing let's say on the classifieds in this forum. Hmmmm🤔1 point -
Tokyo Marui AEP limited upgradeability?

The spring is very much the limiting factor, if you could use another stronger spring I'd guess the gears and bearings would give up.1 point -

Tokyo Marui AEP limited upgradeability?
ruskitseller reacted to Rogerborg for a topic
I've had great fun chasing more energy with my CYMA CM.127 AEP, which is essentially a clone of the TM AEP internals, but it's largely a folly. There simply isn't enough cylinder volume to get much more oomph out of them, and it's a struggle even getting it back together with a stronger spring in it. I never got it consistently above 0.55J. https://eagle6.co.uk/ will provide parts if you want to try it. I'd recommend copiously silicone greasing the air seal parts, as you can't afford to lose any puff. The biggest improvement was going to lipo, I'd thoroughly recommend that.1 point -

you probably want a gen3 or gen4 frame done? Have a look at Boomarms and ArmsAholics for pre-stippled frames. Having tried a few - IMO ArmsAholic are the best. But boomarms offer a large variety of stippling - for example for a Wilson combat frame boomarms do it. No one else does right now. If you essentially want a Salient or agency arms style job done, I’d recommend ArmsAholics.1 point -
There is not enough volume in the cylinder to support a longer inner barrel. You would likely make things worse.1 point

Good luck with it. I have one and I've just kept mine stock because they're a pain to work on and you won't push much more out of it. You can increase the power a little, but I've heard that the gearbox casing won't take it long term and will eventually crack, and good luck getting a new one if that does happen. However, I've heard that the psionic AEP rubbers are pretty good and you could combine that with a 6.03 inner barrel to increase the power a little bit without putting any extra stress on the gearbox, but I don't think it'll improve it by that much. Upgrading AEPs is horrendously difficult because of how they're built and the limitations of that, unfortunately. If you want an electric mp7 that has a bit more to give, then I've heard the VFC MP7 AEG variant isn't terrible any more, but I have no idea as I've never owned one. It is a full AEG though rather than an AEP.1 point

We have to settle for a different coloured Hicapa variant again. The Canadians are dumping their old Hi-Power inventory on the Ukrainians. Some current events following Japanese executive might be inspired. As to the auto loader will be curious to see how this performs. Think the Laylax one underperformed.0 points
