I'm treating it as a cosmetic shell, really, and have a more or less spare CYMA gearbox ready to go in. This weekend will be a torture test to see what survives, although I may spooge some lube up the motor-hole fnar anyway.3 points -

So im working on a hk21 machinegun project. The base gun is a we g3 and i plan to hpa tap the original mag and hide it and the fitting inside the box mag. Anyone run a lot of gas blowback full auto around? Any advice would be appreciated as apart from testing guns I got to re sell this is my first experience with hpa.1 point -
Cyma Platinum M16A1 with 11 200BB Midcaps - £230
JamesAirsofterAgent reacted to Galvatron for a topic
It's not terrible. Is your playing style one where you would make use of close to 11 mid-cap mags? Super5ives appears to have a couple in stock if you want peace of mind and only need another mid-cap with the high-cap supplied.1 point -

Mmm, that "1.3J" turned out to be more like 1.6J, using ASG green and 0.2g. 🌶️ Fortunately, it's just a matter of filing the firing pin down, which should also help with the gas efficiency. Which reminds me, I'd better sling a file in the toolbag for tomorrow in case it spices up again with heavier BBs.1 point -
I signed up to an exercise class and was told to wear loose fitting clothes. If I had any loose fitting clothes I wouldn't have signed up for an exercise class.1 point

Gun is £220 brand new, assuming mags are the battleaxe ones at £11 new (£120.89), at 65% cost of new then it's around the mark at £221 so - Overall not bad, depends if shipping is included etc.1 point -

They certainly are a bit on the warm side. I've got one of the carbines and I've had it chrono at over 2.4j using green gas in the middle of winter1 point -

Well, I only played there once and going for the second time now... It was great, lots of marshalls, food included in the price and etc... very difficult terrain though but it makes it fun I guess...1 point -

Where to buy TM 5.1 HI capa
Enid_Puceflange reacted to Galvatron for a topic
Where have you tried buying one? Granted, there are lots of false positives in there being parts rather than the complete pistol itself but there are apparently some retailers with stock of the pistols and those search results won't be exhaustive as there are Hi-Capas that don't necessarily mention 5.1 in the description. https://www.airsoftdb.com/search/?q="marui+hi-capa+5.1"&s=t&r=uk1 point -
Case layout
Davet reacted to gavinkempsell for a topic
Well a massive box was waiting for me when I got in from work today... I ordered the xl size in the hope that I wouldn't need to remove accessories (I'm lazy), I reckon I'm more likely to take my favourite pews to any game days which basically means a Scar-H or L & an AR15 derivative. My Mk18 is the longest AR I'm likely to take but I'll be measuring up for the XM177 too before I pick any foam out, all attachments will stay attached & all mags will be in my various sets of webbing so no need to fill gaps in the case (or add extra weight). While I was waiting on the postie I hollowed out the L85A3 case I had to fit some foam into it, prob a daft idea seeing as the case had formed spaces for an SA80 & seperate accessories but as I said earlier... I'm lazy & didn't want to remove accessories if I could help it. I'll probably buy some wave foam to do it properly but I had tonnes of padding foam in my shed & the wave foam that I do have is far too thick for this case.1 point -

Yes, I knowingly bought them, on purpose and everything! Who presumably said "Never again!". They're sods to work on, it's gearbox-out just to get the hop and barrel out, with a bench full of screws and push pins, all different hex sizes. I'm going to run it cosmetically pimped but mechanically stock this weekend just for the chuckles, then see about sorting whatever doesn't survive or function. They really do have plastic bushings, and I've never seen such thin wiring.1 point

Taring Carving

Never heard of them but a quick Google search shows quite a lot of negative reviews, not just for the time taken but for the quality of their work and customer service too. All in all I'd go elsewhere1 point -

Surely they should be "industrial", "medieval", "furure" and "aztec"? Especially if the head marshal is a bald thespian with eccentric taste in clothing1 point -
