Curious, since used sales are in direct competition with new sales, and retailers pay for the UKARA scheme. I don't think there's much of a GDPR (as was) compliance issue with a yes/no confirmation of details provided. That's the very purpose that the person who provided them wanted them used for. Notionally, you could use this to confirm that Joe Bloggs lives at 62 West Wallaby Street for purposes other than flogging them a RIF, but since you also need the UKARA number then it's almost certain that Joe has given it to you specifically to allow you to do this. One thing: if UKARA did leak your data, who would you go after? The site provides no contact details for whoever is running it, no address, no company number, only the ICO number of ZA031959. https://ico.org.uk/ESDWebPages/Entry/ZA031959 This (as a matter of public record) give the address of a farmhouse in Cornwall nowhere near any airsoft site or retailer, but not the name of an individual or business. Data controller: UNITED KINGDOM AIRSOFT RETAILERS ASSOCIATION Address: Hollygrove Woodford BUDE CORNWALL EX23 9JL Companies House has an entry for a "UKARA LIMITED", involved in "94120 - Activities of professional membership organisations" https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/12865652 This was incorporated on 8 September 2020 by one Mr Haroon Al-Rashid Dawood Atchia of 20 Eversley Road, Bexhill-On-Sea, East Sussex, England, TN40 1HE, but it claimed to have gone dormant in 2021, then filed accounts for FY 2022 showing £15,000+ of debt. All somewhat opaque. I mean, how can you trust someone with your details if you don't know theirs?4 points

In advance, I am not a business, I just want to buy one, along with some of my daily necessities together to send, if anyone wants to buy with me then contact me. It's about 100 pounds each, If anyone needs it, I'll order it for him. no deposit required. Without further ado, I just show the videos and pictures. And you can choose different styles for AK or AR like SOCOM or PBS and QDC and osprey. Any questions can be pointed out in the comments section. Because I've used it before, it works better than Smokey Wolf 2b54b8924ec748aceb85ab91cc23c47d.mp4 713077638e0d6bcd235f33efb1143ec6.mp41 point

Yeah, Pete talks all the time on here about how ZCI's quality has been steadily dropping since they changed hands with the new barrels produced to a much worse quality, which is why he's personally stopped stocking new ZCI barrels on the site 6.00 looks scary but from what I've seen and heard they're really good, granted you won't be using shitty ammo anymore though lmao1 point -

Update - micrometer arrived and tested 10 bbs and all were 5.95…. No doubt. So it’s either weight or finish. Im hoping to get access to some analytical balance scales from my local engineering college and they have a microscope. The mystery continues…1 point

GDPR requires information held to be used for the purposes for which that information was collected Using the GDPR as an excuse to not confirm details could be a breach of the GDPR in itself - particularly if the subject provided their reference details to a third party on the basis that the third party may request verification An address is personal data, the GDPR does not prevent the release of personal data - but to do so must be valid Technically a UKARA members address could be released, but the most practical outcome would be a query of whether or not ABC1234 matches with Joe Bloggs of 1 The Avenue. A nice simple match would be a yes or no. Less simple would be that Joe Bloggs has moved, but that goes beyond an easy yes or no and becomes dependent on the policy under which the data was collected eg should it be a simple no that there isn’t a 100% match or something inbetween ? - which probably shouldn’t be in the remit of a friendly site / retailer I’m sure there have been cases highlighted on this forum of issues occurring on import etc due to to customs blockage because of an import to a work address that doesn’t match the players UKARA registered address1 point

They will not give personal information but will confirm details you provide. When you call you ask if a UKARA number is associated with 'name' and/or 'address' and if currently valid.1 point

Definitely, lost count of the times I see mention of a company's new gat with a weird name or set of numbers, only to Google it & think "oh bollocks, it's another m4" 🤬1 point -
I wish Airsoft companies would stop producing ARish none guns ( LevAR 15 is at least based on a real gun). I want airsoft companies to produce replicas of real guns (gas Spas 12 somebody pleas?) or at the least iconic Sci Fi guns.1 point

JinxDuh, hats off to the marathon of efforts you've embarked upon for this cause. In a twist of fate, my inbox turned treasure chest with a couple of direct messages, leading me to unearth a few hidden retailer gems. Thus, the coveted rifle is on its way, sidestepping the need for any two-tone disguise. A hearty salute to you and the fellow enthusiasts whose passion, effort, and, let's face it, endearing nerdiness keep the wheels of this hobby spinning. You nerds are the unsung heroes of this saga.1 point

Hello, I'm back (after a decade away!)
TheFull9 reacted to GraniteFraggle for a topic
Hello - for anyone who is old enough to remember me - I used to help run/play at Airsoft KGB down in Cornwall, as well as the occasional away day to Stirling or Sopley. You may remember me as the muppet called Blondie. I packed it all in around the time of the VCRA bill as it was no longer fun to be involved with (the owners of the neighbouring site - thankfully no longer in existence 0 calling the police to stir up trouble was just the tip of the iceberg) and I had just started a horrific period in my personal life which left me with PTSD. Anywaaaaaay that is all behind me now thankfully. I've had a rough few years health wise including almost dieing from sepsis (which has left me with some brain damage - not then anyone who knew me back them will notice) after developing ulcerative colitis but after discovering bouldering back in October last year my fitness has started to finally improve to the extent where after much nagging from my wife I pootled over to our nearest site. I wanted to see whether I could either scratch the itch which was airsoft and work out if I wanted to do it again. You can probably guess how that went! These days I go under the moniker of Fraggle (I've been told I resemble one on PCP when "in the zone".) I cannot believe the change in kit/popularity which has happened while I've been gone - wow! So much has improved in terms of the sheer variety and quality of what you can get in the UK. Gone are the days of importing stuff from WGC in Hong Kong. Being able to actually get what I want here, from my local site is pretty mindblowing. Being able to pick up BFG's so easily now is a lovely surprise - they used to be like rocking horse poo! Thankfully there's a wealth of information out there so you certainly want get any "WOT AM BEST GUN" or "WOT AM EXPLOD LIPO?" posts from me - although I have a few questions (not answered by search - I checked!) and looking forward to catching up on what's going on. Cheers! Fraggle.1 point
