  1. A South African man wakes up in a hospital in England, dazed and disoriented. The doctors barely saved his life, and asked him what happened. He replied: I'm not sure. I was in a pub, which is known as a popular place to meet and get to know locals when I saw 3 really large women at the bar talking to each other. I couldn't make out everything they said, so to be friendly, I asked them ‘Are you 3 ladies from Scotland?’ They replied ‘Wales, you feckin fool!’ So I asked again, ‘Are you 3 whales from Scotland?’ Honestly, that's the last thing I remember before waking up here

  3. I've suspended his account, for review by @Jedi_Master, as has been pointed out too many red flags & contradicting info, I'd asked him to clarify stuff earlier & he's been on but not responded. Better safe than sorry in case a noob tries to jump on the £300 ad.

I've only just noticed, he's gone ?, what's the odds that a certain argumentative female was actually his weird alter ego ?, after all he was literally the only member she didn't have a row with ? 🤔

  5. Was good to get out today to Worthing Airsoft for my regularly scheduled skirmish experience. Was the first game day in a month so I was eager to play, however it is at the end of the first week of my new exercise regime so I was very tired. I was collecting two of my m14s from a local tech and I wanted to experiment with my VSR with its new widebore barrel, so I had a lot to do between all the experimentation and also zeroing the LPVO and setting the hop on my short m14. However, as I attended the safety brief they went over the first game of the day being an all-morning game with a whole load of different objectives all over the site so I instead decided to quickly set my VSR up for 2.3J and headed out for the morning. It started slow. We were almost getting spawn-camped, but there was enough space to get out so I headed to our base and set up a position to defend in a nice little sniping spot that I love to use. However... nobody was approaching in my arc of fire. I cautiously pushed up to try and get better shots but I didn't find anyone for a while, but I eventually got into a place where I had a line on a barricade that the enemy team were fond of using. The shots weren't easy, especially as I realised my hop was wonky and all my shots were arcing right. I also realised I had a great line on a holly bush and was posting shots into there as well and got a LOT of hits from that position. I played around that area through the rest of the game, moving between a few shooting positions and hitting about 16 people across the hour or so I was playing there. I finally got hit by someone who got rather angry with me and it made me chuckle. It was a ghillie with a proper MTW wankergun build, spraying BBs at about 25rps on full auto. I lay behind a tree and tucked myself in while he spammed full auto in the tree and started yelling "there's no way you're not hit, just call it!" at me, but nothing was hitting me as I was keeping close to the ground behind it. There was a marshall standing right next to me and I was just laughing while looking to the marshall just seeing how many of his BBs I could make him waste (it was a LOT). Eventually one did hit me and I called it, went off and respawned and then hurried back to a spot that I could draw a line of sight onto his position as he hadn't moved. Took him out with a single shot and took up a position defending the base again, but by this point most of our team had decided to go in for an early lunch, leaving me and another sniper as the only base defenders. Two bolt action rifles are not good for holding, so while we took out a bunch of them without getting spotted, they just bullied into our base and stole all our objectives at the end, so we very much lost the game After lunch I decided to do all my tweaking and setup and... I've created two monsters. The short m14 was shooting absolutely phenomenally and the LPVO was easy to zero, which was good as I wasn't sure how the mount would be on the Cyma m14, but the G&P low mount worked really well. It was firing 1.06J on .32s, it was snappy, quiet for an AEG and slinging those .32s fairly accurately to about 60m. Very accurate on the 50m target, hitting it literally every single time too. The second monster was as I was experimenting with the VSR. I got the widebore so I could try and run it at 1.1J, as with the 6.03 in there it was 1.4J on 80psi, which is the lowest operating pressure for the Wolverine Bolt. With the widebore it was right on the 1.1J money, with the lowest shot being 1.096J and the highest being 1.111J. The hop was still off and the BBs were arcing, however what I discovered was that on 80psi the VSR was disgustingly quiet. My friend stood about 2m in front of it and couldn't hear it firing, and I shot past my other friend as he was trying to work out what was wrong with his bazooka and he didn't notice at all. I'll probably still run it at 2.3J for now, as the site is fairly open (and it really isn't during summer) and you won't hear the 2.3J sound at 30m away, but seeing how it performed and, most importantly, sounded on 1.1J was disgusting. Not too long either as it's an internally suppressed Maple Leaf bull barrel. Next private game we do at the UCAP Bunker I might put a red dot on it and run it there... Also, the other thing I realised today was how quickly exercise makes a difference. This was the first week I've done my new training regime (I swim 1km every weekday) and... airsoft was nowhere near as difficult as it was before Christmas. Going to be continuing the regime as I have some tablets to help mitigate my heart symptoms when it pops up, so hopefully as I drop the weight and put on a bit more lean muscle it'll just get easier and easier.

  6. Not at our power limits. I tend to zero my scopes on the 75m target at my local site and I can hit the 85m target semi-consistently as long as there's no wind (can hit it with wind, but there's more luck involved at that point), but anything further is a mix of calculation and luck, as you have to arc the BBs and hope they don't stray off course for whatever reason. At the end of the day, we're firing air or gas powered muskets and they will never be "precision rifles". In terms of which is the best, that is down to personal preference. For example, a lot of people would disagree with me when I say that the Tanaka m700 platform is the best overall platform because it's gas powered and therefore not quite as consistent as spring or HPA (some people HPA tap the mags, but I prefer the VSR platform for HPA builds). If you spend a lot of time learning exactly how the Tanaka m700 platform works, and you have the patience to tweak it at the start of every game day, then the Tanaka m700 platform is the best since you can still get it more than consistent enough for airsoft, they shoot just as far, just as accurately, the bolt pull is effortless and they're incredibly silent. However, if you don't learn the ins and outs and tweak it every game day then they're awful. For user-friendliness, I'm very fond of the VSR platform, so anything VSR-based would be my recommendation. If you already have an SSG10, that's what I'd use. Get it running close to 2.3J on at least .45s, but preferably .48s, with a good hop setup and you'll be golden.

  12. @Jedi_Master & @proffrink I have been playing whack-a-mole with the spammers for the last couple of days. I've nuked loads, I'm sure the other spam moderators have done the same. Can we lock the ability for new users to create new threads without approval from admin/spam moderator? So they create a new thread - but a admin/spam mod has to approve that thread to show to the wider masses? We would be able to tell pretty quicky if these are legit users, and the 'probationary' period will end if we are satisfied that what they post is appropriate to the forum.

  16. I remember attending a site down Hampshire way (name rhymes with skillet) where the owners took over an hour to get chrono and safety brief sorted..... made a big fuss of teams (another 20 minutes of messing about with yellow amd red tape) and then decided to do all against all for the first game. Needless to say I've not been back to any of their sites. Then again I've had some horror stories with other well known companies as well.

Honestly....... OP went to the NAE/NAF and expected good play standards. Yep, theres the problem right there. To clarify. When the marshals/staff on a walk on game day aren't bothered with video'd evidence of non-hitcalling what's the point. For context lit up someone very identifiable on cam that ignored the hit. Site staff response "you should have brought hi-cap mags"

  19. I'm waiting for that moment when the "organiser" states 'non winding mags only' and a mass disturbance of the force as 100's of speedsofters whine its elitist. Kind of reminds me somehow of attending a CQB site a while back and hearing an organised team of systema users kicking off that some games were pistol only and that "no your PTW on semi is NOT a pistol".

  20. I've got the Steyr Scout, completely stock except I fitted the mythical H nub. I hit 90+m with it, but I wouldn't dream of saying it was accurate for a YouTube "one shot one kill" at that range. I consider myself a better than average shot and I feel at 90m any more than 3 out of 10 shots that hit a man sized target is a great result. The point, for me, of a sniper is to be able to hit an AEG player at more range than they can reach with their shooter. If a good AEG can average 50-60m but have to be on "spray and pray" mode to hit you with one of 100 bbs, then you only need to be able to accurately hit them at 65-70m, and at that range, the scout is spot on, as I'm sure your SSG10 is.
    1 point
  21. What does the SSG10 not do that you expect any other stock gun would do? I mean, I'm happy with my TAC-41, and SRS owners like theirs too, but I wouldn't claim consistency at a real 90m. That's the stuff of YouTube fiction.

    Ear pro for CQB

As I've mentioned in a couple of other threads, Spec Ops is opening a CQB site shortly and it'll be the first time I've played airsoft indoors. I'm an old man in his 50's with bad hearing, especially in my left ear, caused by excessively loud music (falling drunkenly asleep with my head on a speaker cab at a Throbbing Gristle gig probably doing a lot of damage on its own), and a lot of small-bore and full-bore shooting when I was younger. I always wore ear pro when actually shooting, but for a long time I'd be standing just behind the firing line without it - just like everyone else - but so stupid in hindsight! I'm also afflicted with moderate tinnitus which I don't want to make any worse. So what's good for ear protection in a CQB environment? I don't know if flash-bangs will be allowed (I hope not, but let's assume the worst), but even a Firehawk in a confined space will not be good. I want a sensible balance of ear pro vs tactical awareness, because if I spend my entire time getting shot, well, I'll probably not be back I'm a complete noob when it comes to current tech and trends... are pairs of ear plugs with the metal valves inside "still a thing" these days? Or do I get some moulded foam ones? I probably want to avoid the full headset / earcup deal, unless there's a good reason... Any thoughts much appreciated

  26. I wouldn't use anyone except those two, which is why they have such long waiting lists, which is why I wouldn't use them. It's a self-causing / self-solving problem. If it's for a specific gun it might be best to mention it, as any Sklyar can mess up an M4, but some techs specialise in messing up GBBR or HPA builds.

Worked on my buddies KWA SR-16 yesterday. Its an old gun, so it needed work internally and externally. Internally it got a Gate Titan, a new M100, and while I am yet to test its range I have both Prommy purples and Maple Leaf Macrons for it should it need a bucking. Gears, shimming, piston, cylinder, and barrel were done by me a few years back and look fine. Externally he wanted to go two tone, so new G&P rail covers (I prefer the dimpled ones but the blocked were half off so he wanted those), new PTS EPG, new sling mount, and I loaned him one of my good EOTECH replicas, real MBUS irons, PTS EPM1-S, and my two tone Rogers Super Stock for the photo. Before: After: Also my Bingo m249 “Sunfish” is externally complete with the new optic. A fully trademarked 1.5x-6x ELCAN SpecterDR in bronze, with a RS ELCAN 1.5x-6x killflash cause this thing was pricey and the last thing I want is to have it shot out. For those of you who dont know Sunfish was my first HPA gun, and is the first m249 Bingo Airsoft Designs did. For those of you who watch AirsoftAlfonse, his HPA 249 is also a Bingo though newer than mine. We run them together sometimes. I bought it non-working and fixed it up over time, having no idea what I was doing. She has the oldest Polarstar LMG Fusion Engine in the US and possibly the world according to Polarstar themselves. They dont even make the solenoids for it anymore - I have to write up Polarstar and get them to make me custom ones whenever one fails. She recently got upgraded to Gen 3 electronics, and I custom wired in Bullgear equipment to use Bullgear m249 mags, so no more weak feeding box mags. I need to give her another once over inside in preparation for the Fall MilSim season - she seems to be using too much air and the spread is less than ideal. Hopefully its just a bucking change, but who knows.

  33. Happy New year chaps and chappesses. Got back from the land of the little people so feeling a bit zoned out. Thought I'd have a look at my beloved Specna as it sounded awful last game day and wasn't feeding. Was hoping it was the tappet spring again but no: So that's Donald Ducked. The two spare boxes i have dont quite fit for different reasons, so off to Cage Airsoft it goes for dealing with it (wiring harness is fecked too). Looking forward to a skirmish day, but Spec Ops isn't open until Feb, so maybe South Herts or AWA. Hope everyone had a good break?

  34. Bit of a soft shitshow today Visited a site for the first time, which had been running a good couple of years, but had to move to fresh ground last year. Operated by an established retailer in Scotland, so they kinda should know better imo. First game was a “warm up” which was a kind of Capture the Flag Defenders had two lives , attackers had infinite First game took the attackers just under an hour to achieve the objective 🙄 Swapped ends and we did it in 16 minutes This game should have had a time limit to apply pressure to the attackers, and not just an “it’s over when they do it” attitude which was what I got from the marshal when I asked how long this had still to run. Went back to safe zone to bomb up after that, to get told we would have lunch early. So I’d defended from a slow attacking team for almost an hour in zero deg temps, then a 16 min warm up, to sit around for an hour having lunch! I was effing freezing Then a “flip the barrel” game both times we won that in roughly 8-9 minutes To get taken to the safe zone again and stand about for 15-20 mins, before being taken back up to the same area for another mix up of a game. Sadly, I’d had enough and just said cheerio to my crew and made the hour drive home. No facilities to speak of no toilet that I could see (but I can pee behind a tree, so not a biggy) Just a gazebo and a camp table for booking in and buying ammo/pyro My Ghk m4 just sucked ass in the cold, even using red gas so it got replaced with my backup aeg for the other games. It was a free game, to entice new players to start coming Thanks for the taster I’ll not be back 😂
