Got mine !

Not airsoft but here’s two of my air rifles I’ve done , just Krylon & stencils then a clear coat over the top

adhesive vinyl stencils , inbetween the colours This one for example , base coat black add first stencil layer then overspray with olive , next stencil layer overspray with grey then some light dusting of black to blend a little , leave to dry , peel & reveal Optics & accessories to match / same method

So far I've only put about one mag through it. But first impressions are very good. I plan to get the box mag for it but I'll order that from one of the the hong kong or Taiwan suppliers . Will do some tests at the weekend to see hom many bbs the stanag gas reservoir will fire before a refill. I suspect 10 or so round bursts will be optimal. Will try and get some video at the weekend. Selection of pictures, everything has trades, even the bolt by the look of it. Weighs alot less than you might expect, which will be down to the all Ali construction .

Got notification that mine is on the way. Probably early next week for it to arrive. Can’t wait ?

This arrived today, and it’s…. Lovely. I don’t usually go for compact guns, but this I made an exception for. Western Arms Smith & Wesson Shorty .40 Sidekick. It has no safety, and is double action so fires even if not cocked, took me a little by surprise!

As I'm never ever ever ever ever going to sell my Double Eagle M906C, I think I might spray it. I did have a Novritsch 'leafy' gun camo cover on it, but I do prefer the gun 'naked' because ... it looks cooler when it doesn't seem to have had a bit of salad wrapped around it...? Some of you with long memories might remember I've sprayed a couple of guns before: The F2000 was a bit of a homage to my favoured camo in Battlefield 4, but to be honest whilst it was fun to do, the results aren't brilliant close-up... the green painters masking tape I used didn't always make clean edges. The M16 did come out quite well with the scrim, but unfortunately I tried to fix a couple of areas that didn't look so good, and ended up making a pig's ear of it. I'm going to start from scratch on this, maybe with the same pattern as I do for the DE. After all that I have a decent collection of camo spray paints, but I don't just to do a vanilla brown / green / black splotchy effect, and neither do I want to use the scrim net effect again - I want something a little bit bolder so that 1) it looks interesting and 2) the camo actually does break up the the outline of the gun. Y'know, camo that actually camouflages I'm therefore prepared to include a bit of white, bright green, or a bit of dark red (as I've already got those) into the pattern (sparingly though, probably) I'd prefer something I can do 'freehand' with the spray cans, rather than having to use stencils or masking tape, but for the right result I could do that. So if any of you have have some good camo jobs, please share them to give me some inspiration!

I paid a carpenter to make me a double bed, but the con man has only gone and done a bunk. It’s literally one thing on top of another.

I already have an A&K Masada yes, but why not two? Edited out the sellers name. The seller slid into my Discord DMs asking if i'd be interested in taking it off their hands, all accessories and postage included for £150. Having just been paid with some overtime it was impossible to resist an early birthday present to myself. Gun works fine, apparently the selector is grinding which isn't a surprise having taken these apart before - the ambi selector kinda sucks and is a bit of a bastard when reassembling the gun. I'm now theory-crafting a shopping list to turn this into an actual DMR as it's currently at full-auto AEG limits (i've posted my shopping list in the electric guns section if anyone's interested). Might be nice to try out a different style of gameplay as well as the technical challenge of making a consistent DMR having not done this before. Local site limits for DMRs are 420fps so it gives me a nice bit of overhead for throwing heavier BBs.

While it is a good idea to run around with a few lo cap mags to see what the downside is like, make sure you do try the GBBR's to experience the upside. Otherwise it's not fair ?

Justified this one by calling it a backup ? TM Sig P226, added a threaded barrel because I play in the dark and tracers are handy. Also got a Surefire clone off eBay. Already had the tracer.

For what it's worth Boomarms went through a warehouse move recently, and his only other staff left after the move so it's just him trying to deal with the move with no help. Not giving him an excuse, some better communication and expectation managements with some assurance on top should be the bare minimum, but just providing some context as to why they went from decent service to absolutely terrible service seemingly overnight.

A few things turned up from Evike Europe today and now I feel like a very special little snowflake (because who runs an m40a3 these days, let alone a gas one). I've wanted an airsoft m40a3 or m40a5 for over a decade and I'm glad I finally got one that is good! Most of the m40s around aren't to my liking (none of them are properly VSR compatible), but this one... I love the KJW/Tanaka m700 platform, and it's just that with a fancy m40a3/5 stock and shorter outer barrel. All that's left for this build is a nice Vortex scope and it'll be completely done! Also will test out this adjustable bolt over the weekend. I think it will still require the gas routers to do most of the heavy lifting, but the screw in the bolt itself looks like it could be useful for fine tuning when I need to drop or gain like 0.1J or so a bit more consistently than adjusting the hammer spring tension. Now I just need to get a few parts to finish the other m700...

Got my AKX. Generally happy with it. It’s hot on Green gas and the stock hop unit struggles with anything over 0.25s. I’ve fitted a Bavtac nub and a nineball air seal hop rubber, I’m now flinging 0.28s dead straight with the hop on its lowest setting. im waiting on a volante full travel bolt and a TBB. currently my AKX doesn’t have the hammer strength to depress the exit valve of my G&P mags using Nuprol 2.0. So I need to figure out how to solve that. I suspect the easiest solution will be to change a spring in the trigger box. But I haven’t looked yet. Alternative is to fit OEM Marui exit valves… which I haven’t been able to source.

Do you have any strong feelings about airsoft though?
