Can't expect much from a gun already punching above it's price class. I think it's pretty admirable that they got an optical ETU functional and in production for the cost they released at, when the likes of G&G, Evolution, Cyma et al are still using microswitch-actuated ETUs. Don't get me wrong - cost compromises have been made in some places - the bushings on my M904G are very roughly finished and the GB is a touch 'wide' (I had to use nearly 40x 0.1mm shims to stop the gears rattling like maracas) but I think they've done a decent enough job all round.2 points -
Hey everyone, I went airsofting with a friend a good 8-10 years ago now when I was around 20 years old. I loved it and always wanted to get my UKARA Licence and start playing as much as I could. Unfortunately life got in the way. I move to the US for a while then UNI and recently work have got in the way. I've finally left my job and have accepted a role that allows me to start living life again and allows me the time to do the little things I love in life! I WANT TO START AIRSOFTING. I know about the basics regarding equipment, how to gain a licence etc. But I'm not really familiar with any sites located around where I'm currently located. I prefer the woodland vibes rather that close range paintball style. I'd be looking to play in the Norfolk/Suffolk area to begin and would need to rent a gun etc to begin until i get my licence so I can buy my own equipment. Brings me to my questions really; - Where can I play? Cost etc? - What's the easiest way to obtain my licence so i can start playing with my own equipment rather than renting? - What advice would you have for a newbie like me? I look forward to seeing all the responses... Thanks in advance everyone!1 point

Help choosing my first AEG please (Double Eagle M9XXX) :)
Rogerborg reacted to RostokMcSpoons for a topic
Nah, don't buy a Double Eagle, they're over-hyped shit 😊 (That's just a little in-house joke there, I'm one of the resident fan-bois... they're great value guns!) I've got a 906C. It's a short carbine size all-metal gun. The numbering system is a little confusing, I think there is an explanation in one of the threads, but basically you'll need to double check against the particular specification to ensure you'll get a metal handguard, if that's what you're after, as even the higher numbers can have polymer handguards in some instances. So the other main difference between the 904/6/7/8 are in the style of the stock. The 908 gets a crane style stock that can take a nunchuck battery. That's useful, I charged mine for a PTS EPS crane stock which cost me a good few quid, so any extra cost of the 908 can be justified. I've had a few beers and it's late, I'll post again tomorrow 🤤1 point -
At first I thought it was some sort of variant of Afghan national army uniform, but the larger digital squares I think it maybe Project Honor Camouflage?1 point

What's your fps on 0.20? I think Marui G19 (either gen. 3 or 4) is notorious about being a low FPS gun even on green gas (as stock) but I've only watched videos about this gun on YT. Never had one actually for the same reason. A heavier alu slide isn't gonna help either when you have fps issues already. You could swap your inner barrel for a longer one (within reason let's say 106mm instead of an 87mm). I've gained about +20 fps because of it on my G26 but ofc you have to hide it with a tracer or dummy supressor. Black gas is gonna put more strain on your internals so use it at your own risk. Nineball high flow mag valve is a big question mark to be honest.1 point

ICS is a nice way to go for L85’s if you can live with the weird trigger switch. I’ve done lots to mine, but if I had a proper look in the mirror all it really needed was the Warhead motor, English Kiwi Hop, and a spring. It runs a V2 gearbox for bits so they’re easy to get hold of. I had a Star L85 which I absolutely loved, but I wore the thing out with about 250k rounds through it and a new ICS was cheaper than a complete overhaul of the Star (now Ares). The only issues I had with the Star in all of it’s time was a tappet plate and a motor, both of which I expect to go with that amount of use and abuse.1 point -

I ask myself that when I look at the stack of ICS M4s I've got. I enjoy working on them - and built one from literally spare parts - but do I need 5? Of course not. But it's good to have spares, right? 😜1 point -

I still kick myself for not picking one up when they first released on TG for £114. Luckily, the (as new) one I bought a few weeks was part of airsoft retirement kit bundle, so once I offloaded the stuff I didn't want it cost me less than £100. Quite please with that.1 point -

It's crazy to think you could pick up a 904 for around £120, in the (g)olden days. They're still brilliant value given everything is so much more expensive (and it's all relative, innit)1 point -

Yup that's exactly it. I am super paranoid to remove the battery as soon as the skirmish ends to ensure I don't kill another.1 point -

@RostokMcSpoonsWas that in one of your Double Eagles? If yes one thing I find really bad with the Falcon controller is its battery management, and I asked DE about this and got a reply, and if left connected the Falcon does drain batteries substantially more than the big name controllers and will take each cell down below 3 volts (where you enter the zone of killing cells / no return). I left a Li-Po in one of my DE's ages ago and it totally killed it, nicely puffed up, and I've been ultra careful at the end of the day since then. A GATE Titan in another of my AEG's can have a battery left in it for days and drain almost nothing.1 point -

Alright Spock, cool your jets 😁 3000 for the Titan 1400 for the Crazypony The Titan site says the 16C is equivalent to 30C on a 1400 Li-po, and the RoF did seem to bear that out. However I'll declare I've no skin in this game. I wouldn't buy another Titan because I had trouble with a couple dying irreparably after leaving them in the gun overnight, after draining them close to empty during the day. But the Titan I've got now has been fine so I continue to use it. And the company deserve props because they did replace them, as per their guarantee. Can anyone recommend a suitable Abbey lubricant, just in case?1 point -
I did put in a good word at Spearmint Rhino for you so fingers crossed.1 point

A man received the following text from his neighbor: "I am so sorry Bob. I'm riddled with guilt and I have to confess.” I have been tapping your wife for many weeks now. I'm not getting any at home, but that's no excuse. I hope you will accept my sincerest apology with my promise that it won't happen again" The heartbroken man, enraged, went into his bedroom, grabbed his wife, and threw her out the back door. Then he locked the door. A few moments later, a second text came in: – Damn autocorrect. I meant "wifi", not "wife1 point -

Welcome. First I think I should mention that there's no such thing as an airsoft licence. Site membership is what the ukara database uses, but this is not a legal requirement and other defences are available. Whether a shop or seller will accept them though is a different matter. Have a look here https://playairsoft.uk/ Costs will vary from site to site but usually you're looking at £20 to £35 for your game fees. Renting a gun for the day will cost more but usually comes with face protection and some bbs. To get site membership you need to play 3 game days in a space of more than 2 months but less than 12. While there are other defences available not all shops accept them and quite a few are an absolute joke. Most people will suggest renting first as it gives you an idea what's suitable for your needs. You don't want to spend a sizeable chunk of cash on something which is crap or you don't get on with. Yes you could sell it on but I can guarantee you won't make your money back, even more so as the gun would be a 2 tone As others have posted, pretty much all questions you'll have have already been asked so read as much as you can on here. Personally I'd avoid advice from reddit and facebook as 99% of it is people confusing fact with opinion or just plain wrong1 point -

Welcome to the forums. All your questions will be answered with just a quick browse through the forum sections. My advice - rent for you first three games before buying anything.1 point -
Welcome (back) 😁 Check HERE for sites near you. Then you can check reviews of particular ones Fastest way to be UKARA registered is play 3 games at the same site. Check if they have a time limit. Best advice is to read everything in the forum 😀1 point

VFC HK53 GBB Pre-Orders?
Jacob Wright reacted to Super64 for a topic
Well, I’ve had a bit more of a play and I have to say, I’m extremely happy. I have no idea what it’ll be like to skirmish with, accuracy, power or longevity of parts, but for my purposes as a collection, display gun, it is absolutely awesome. It feels solid, everything clicks nicely and it looks beautiful, as you’d expect from VFC. Unfortunately, it has the same bolt block feature that the VFC MP5 has, which prevents the bolt and charging handle slamming forward with an empty magazine inserted. It does have a dry fire mode on the magazine, but it only appears to work for one shot, then clicks back over to normal mode. All in all, I’m a very happy bunny. Bring on the VFC M249.1 point -
